Breezes Bella Costa varadero

The grounds were very well kept, our family suit was better than expected. The beach was excellent and the people were very friendly! Had a great trip to Havana and an interesting tour. The lobby bar was fun with many people to chat with and fabulous entertainment.

Average hotel

The room we stayed in without a balcony had a good view but not the most soundproof to outside noise. There were two double beds as well as a single in our room. Would of liked the room better without the single since it would of given us more room. Everything was old and there were very few English channels on TV. The channels we did get showed reruns of shows that were just shown on the previous day. The service at the hotel was excellent. It could of been a little cleaner. Very good resort!

I've been traveling for over 20 years all over Mexico and the carribean an Cuba four times. Bella costa was by far my favorite varadero stay!!!! It is a great location and I love the layout of the hotel. It's old but very clean and great food, for real!!!! I recommend this hotel because of the staff, location, beach and food and the LOVELY live bands that play in the lobby in the evening ... Wonderful!!!

Fantastic Time!

Overall this was a great hotel. Rooms were clean and pool areas, restaurants and lobby were well maintained. Staff were friendly and gave great service. The daily and nightly activities were always fun. I would definitely stay here again.

Good family resort

Traveled in January 2015 with 5 kids under 12 - everyone had a great time. Beach was amazing. Food selection was good enough for kids, the adults had some complaints. Staff was great. Rooms were quite run down. Needs a reno.

Very good value resort on a great beach

Varadero beach is world class, long and wide with soft sand, gentle drop, sandbars and fun waves. A great place for a walk - we strolled the beach from the resort for an hour to get to the downtown market area of Varadero (cab back in a 1927 Ford cost 10 peso). Another significant reason we don't hesitate to enjoy a Cuban vacation is safety. Although bad can happen anywhere it is very unlikely here. We were confident leaving the resort, day or night. We did not go hungry and always found good food for each meal. Highlights were the beach buffet for cappuccino, main buffet for fresh omelets and croissants, bbq pork at the dinner buffet and the Japanese restaurant. That said, this is not four star dining. The resort itself was clean, it works well and it's not too big. The ratio of bar/restaurant/staff per person is good which translates to minimal delays for food, drinks, concierge etc. Our room was very nice with a king bed, very large deck with ocean and golf course views, in-room coffee, ample hot water. But the buildings are looking a little tired.

Beautiful beach!

Had a great time at Breezes Bella Costa. Great staff and can't beat the hotel location right off the beach. The accommodations were good, but request a room away from the main road as buses dropped off and picked up people all night.

Over-priced

This is definitely not a 4-star hotel, even by Cuban standards. If you tip the staff well, then you will receive friendly service. On the plus side, the beach is fabulous and the hotel location is good. Some rooms still need upgrading. So, don't hesitate to ask for a room change.

Nice Resort for family

Stayed in connecting rooms on the fourth floor (no balcony) at the Breezes Bella Costa in Veradero. January 26 to February 2. Had a nice time with my family of four. Unfortunately, Mother Nature did not smile upon us as we only had 2 sunny days, the rest were pretty much cloud covered. C’est la vie. Staff is friendly and courteous. Excellent Trip

We were upgraded to a Suite without even asking. The food was amazing. Lobster tail on Thursday, we each had 5 of them. Yes, it's every Thursday. One complaint many people have is the food is not good. I can assure you, the food here is excellent. Building is slightly old which shows, but the hotel is kept clean with the cleaners cleaning your room every day and providing fresh towels.

Exceeded my expectations.

I always find going on such vacations, you need to have low expectations. What can you expect when their main dependency is tourism. We stayed in the family suite, which was a loft style accommodation, 2 bed rooms upstairs and family room style on the main floor. Food was better then other resorts in Cuba, with lot's of choices, people were very friendly. Very Safe, Friendly Resort

This was our third trip to Cuba, and our first time in Veradaro. The resort is showing its age, but the staff are warm and friendly and they do their best to keep it clean. The beach was very good, with lots of lounges and plenty of shade to be out of the sun if you choose to be. The food was very good with lots of choices; their bread and cheese selections were excellent. You could make a salad from many choices of vegetables and fruit. Not horrible but not great

This was my first time staying in Cuba and not what I thought a 4 star resort would be like. It was about what I expected a 3 star to be. The resort needs renovating/updating. The food was ok, pretty much how everyone described it, not great but you won't starve. The beach was amazing though! No vendors either! Most of the staff were friendly. The drinks were fantastic!

Great resort for young families

We stayed in a suite the Villa area and they were perfect for us (we have three children under the age of 5). These are the buildings on the other side of the pool area from the main building, so generally quieter. We were in the Tropical Ocean View Suite which had plenty of room and 1.5 bathrooms, in addition to a living room and large bedroom, and a fantastic view! The location was ideal (just a short walk to the beach). Don't expect all the bells and whistles of a 4-star accommodation in Cana [... read more]da or the US, but knowing this, the resort was fine. Bring your own travel clock as the rooms are pretty bare other than a TV and phone and fridge. There are not a lot of KidsClub activities offered and the kids playground is definitely run-down. But we didn't need much more than a beach and the pool for our kids ages. The kids pool was good for toddlers (no beach-entry-like access for babies unfortunately) and the bigger pool great for our 4-year-old. If they were older, things like a splash pad, water slides and more kids activities (crafts, games, etc) would have been preferred. It would also have been nice if the buffet was open a bit earlier than for 7 breakfast and 6.30 dinner. The food was satisfactory for all (the made-to-order pasta bar and the fresh-made pizza were the biggest hits for the kids). Unfortunately the kids entertainment shows didn't start earlier than 8pm. The staff were extremely kind and helpful, and the beach was awesome -- beautiful sand and shallow for a long way out. Don't forget to pack a few of your own beach toys with you. There is a little shop on site that you can buy things like diapers and beach toys but probably just easier to bring your own. We also liked to location of the resort in Varadero for two short morning outings with the kids - an easy hop-on / hop-off bus ride into town (we took the kids to Josone Park) and also not too far to the Ambrosio Cave -- this cave is highly recommended to go to with the kids for something different (they can see lots of bats, cave paintings...bring your own little flashlight or headlight). Just ask the bus driver to let you off there. Note: the hop on/off bus stop is a bit of a walk from this resort (approx 1km or so). All in all the resort was great for families with young kids!

Breeze bella costa

we were there for two weeks..... secound time at this resort.... very clean.....peoples amazing.... food excellent you will not starve..... beach excellent..... over all plane on tyme dept. and arrival earlly... wow!!!!!

Amazing staff and good food.

We stayed as 6 adults and 5 kids. All food was great. Especially the fresh orange juice, omlette stand, toaster for breakfast. Pasta and grill stand for the dinner. We did not even try the ala carte aa we were very happy with the buffet. Ocean was great as usual. Just a little bit chilly as it was december. The staff was amazing and friendly. Loved the resort. Overall satisfying top notch beach

Highlights- beach, friendly staff, baby/family friendly, clean, interactive nightly entertainment including opening acts geared for children, variety of foods, close to downtown Varadero, great snorkeling out from resort beach, fabulous cappucinos/expressos in the lobby bar ;) Lowlights- sketchy electrical-2 lights would flicker when turned off had to unplug lights which the resort did, elevators were slow and not all (3) working at the same time-travelled with a baby stroller.

Really good food- overall a great experience

The room was just fine- water pressure was good- very clean. We stayed in room 504 with a balcony and Oceanview. The only trying things about the hotel were the elevator waits and lineups for the featured dishes being cooked fresh at the buffet. Staff were good if tipped and the grounds were very clean and the beach is first class. If you are looking for something close to downtown, I would recommend a different resort. Cabs are 10-15 cuc and can get pricey as the walk to bus stop is at least 15 [... read more] mins. I would recommend this resort. It is very compact and right on the beach :)

Beautiful Beach

This hotel is situated on a lovely, white sand beach. The resort itself is a smaller resort, with fewer choices of activities to do in the evenings. The hotel itself is older, and rooms are a bit dated.

Great value for your money

Bella Costa is a very nice resort. Overall the grounds are very well kept, clean, no bugs, well manicured. The hotel itself is also very clean, the main building is 20 years old but well maintained. The garden suite rooms are nice, more spacious and also very clean. Beds are adequate, but bring your own pillow if possible. Rooms are clean, no bugs. Good shower pressure in our room, hot water a little scarce early in the morning, but ok the rest of the time. Staff is super friendly and very helpf [... read more]ul. Dining is above average as far as Cuba goes. All you can eat lobster night was our highlight of the week. There is only one pool, but the beach is awesome and only a one minute walk away. Beach is awesome !! And the hotel is right on the Varadero golf course, if you golf include this as part of your package, it is well worth it to bring your clubs. Also the town of Varadero is not far away if you want to explore. Overall, I highly recommend this resort because the price versus the quality is amazing.
