Great Resort!

I enjoyed a fantastic 7 nights at Aguas Azules in Varedero, Cuba. My room was clean and well air-conditioned, as were the majority of the indoor locations at the resort (dining room, lobby, etc.). The service was very friendly at the bar, in the dining room, as well as room service. The swimming pools were awesome, and so was the beach! Night entertainment was very professional and enjoyable. Nice resort

My 6 year old daughter and I travelled to this resort for 2 weeks in jan , we had a great time ! The pools were always nice and clean (a little on the chilly side though) The beach was amazing !! Beautiful turquise water. Billy (the beach security) did an amazing job to make sure you could relax and not be bugged by locals trying to sell you things! Amazing beach.. everything else meh

The first night we were there our room was a total disaster, thank god for the Sunwing rep that was such a help the next day and changed rooms. The resort itself is old and not many things on the resort were open. Nightly entertainment was very good but not much after dinner time which sucked. The rooms were clean and the maid was so helpful! First time in Cuba and didnt like the food, first couple days nothing was labelled. Next time Id definitely try another resort.

Everything was closed!

The hotel itself was outdated. Room was nothing special but made it work. staff were very very nice yet very slow to deal with anything. Beach was beautiful though and very clean. No night life besides the 40 min shows at night. I would come back to cuba but not to this resort.

Needs lots of upgrades

The weather was 28-29 C. all week. The beach is wide and wonderful, the ocean was peaceful all week. The front desk staff could never provide change for tips, always saying it was the banks fault.Not the most friendly group. The hotel has 220 electricity, therefore if you have any North American 110 service appliances, like sleep apnia machines, then you are in for some trouble.The rooms are certainly 2 star.The dining room is too small to accommodate the number of guests. GREAT Staff

2 nd time here had a great 50th birthday staff had cake and party by pool room was good same as before food was average but I knew it would be price was good not hot enough in November January is the best

Great place but a little dated

Had a great time except for the rain but that's not fault of the hotel we were there Nov 19th -25th 2014 Food was great staff wonderful little older hotel. My 2nd time at this hotel. Water pressure in bathrooms was not good at all but other than that nice relaxing place.

Cozy Resort

The hotel was nicely built though it needs some tlc. Helpful, friendly staff and there was a good variety of food at the buffet. Excellent service at the beach bar especially. The beach was excellent and the pool area and green space was well maintained. I made good use of the hammock.

The staff was friendly

The staff were friendly which is the only good thing I can say. It's unfortunate since there are so many great places in Cuba, dont' let this resort make you not want to come back! The food here was bad but who cares, that's not why we went. We stayed in a bungalow and it became a routine to do bug checks after a millipede was almost done the journey up my girlfriends arm. I love Cuba!!!

I usually always check out the reviews of the hotels before I book my vacation, this particular hotel had real promise when I read the description, but when I came there not everything was open and we did not get anything other then the small map to try and find out where everything was. Half of the hotel rooms are getting renovated and its very dangerous if kids or some drunk people stumble accidentally off a balcony. There was slight problems but they are all due to the renovations that are taking place and I am sure that this hotel will get better in time. (no hot water;you have to put the hot to the max and wait a few minutes and it will gradually become hotter.) some people in the hotel had also no hot water at all and no air conditioning but all got fixed when you knew how to complain because they would get free upgrades to Bungalows. Internet when it worked was faster then it used to be, but I only used facebook since the other sites just wouldn't load. The staff was amazing and welcoming as always, the beach and water were always perfect there were two pools one with a bar and animation and one that was closer to me was less visited but much cleaner and perfect for tanning and just enjoying the sun. A la carte restaurants: there was only one location but every night was different types of food, people that went there loved it, I never actually knew where and when we had to book them until the last day but that was actually the Cuban day (Thursday) when there was BBQ on pool and took no reservations. I read the bad reviews and I always tell myself this is all inclusive and some people work 12h shifts to provide us with this, so if the food gets a little repetitive get used to it find what you like and stick to it. I loved my time there, there were things that could have been better like making all the reservations on one day and not having to rush in the morning to get the place, informing us in advance so we don't find out last day, but all in all I loved it, but I'm not sure if I would go back because I like to always try out new resorts and after I have seen all I can make my favorites. For the recommendation, it depends on the person itself; if you have money to waste so you can flaunt how you go to only 4 star and plus, I obviously would not but if the friend just wants to get some sun, ocean, and Cuban music for the cheapest price: I would say; I'm coming with you when are we going? You get what you pay for. Don't pay too much here

Its not a bad hotel but its old and run down.I have been there twice. The staff are great but they don't have much to work with if you want luxury its not for you but the beach is perfect and you won't starve if your OK with beans rice chicken pork and fish. Breakfast was always fairly good a lot of the bars were closed when we were there at the end of April and most of the guest were Cubans which I kinda enjoyed. They need to get rid or a bunch of cats! I personally would consider going here again.

Ok resort

Dont get a room near the disco. Its very loud till three am. Food was not the best, but that seems to be all over Cuba. Beach is the best in Cuba. You can walk in both directions for kms.Staff were very friendly. Rocky at the front door is wonderful.

Bungalows are the best, food is the worst.

As we all know, the food is horrible in Cuba and this is the third resort I've been too and it was the worst. But the bungalows closest to the beach are amazing. Best rooms ever! The staff is great. The beach is fantastic, of course. I would reccommend this hotel if you're looking for a cheap getaway but you have to get the bungalows.

Good Value - Great Beach - Friendly staff

Came back for a second time - Was not disappointed, Really good value. Had a medical situation that was quickly handled very professionally. My wife and I loved to walk the beach. Would recommend to others.

It was fun and better than I expected!

The room was upgraded when we arrived, that was fantastic and unexpected! The ocean and beach is beautiful. The hotel needs some tlc but overall it was clean and provided everything we needed. The food was good.

Terriable resort

the resort had 6 possiable places to get in water and only one was in working order at the time, rooms were great, maids were great, food was the worst i have ever had and I am not a complainer, 2 star makes me happy we moved day 2.

Fantastic spot

Hotel is getting older. Toilet paper still a premium. Bungalow was clean and everything worked. Front desk is less challenging than in past visits. We arrived late bell hops were not available. Rain soaked all our luggage while looking for our room. Morning Sun brightened our outlook, food ran from palatable to not bad. Our room was well cleaned, beds "Good" (could not believe it). The beach was fantastic, pools were very good and clean. Overall our trip was stress free and can not wait to come back.

Not bad but not great

The beach was beautiful ! Room was nice,food was OK, staff was pleasant. Drinks were not great and too many cats around the dinning and bar area. Would go back for the same price as we got a great deal. Would not recommend for first time guest

Good resort

the people was 5 star,food was great molst of grounds were good but the ponds by back entrance could have been cleaner and better internet to get email lol,but would go back maybe in few years,got go other places first not unless super deal lol

Good for the Price

Our family had a great time, we stayed at the Bungalow and it was very nice..very spacious...our maid was always there on time to clean as well. It does need a little updating....but we were there for the beach which again was very clean...lots of chairs around as well, easy to get around as its not too much walking, compared to Memories Varadero...we would go back ! Lovely Staff as well!
