My husband and I just spent the most relaxing and the most enjoyable vacation! The Be Live Collection Punta Cana was amazing! It started with the front desk clerk Henry, then the ladies in the spa, especially Belkie. She was so sweet and professional. The entertainment team were so fun and full of energy. They made everyone feel as though they were special. They were so amazing with people especially the shy ones. The food was fantastic. If you read bad reviews.... DON'T pay attention to them.[... read more] The room was spacious and clean. We did not want to come home! Cannot wait to go back next year! I would also like to take this opportunity to than Diana in customer service, who helped with making this happen! Thank you Trip Central!

Satisfactory resort
Our one week stay was good . Some of the walkways were under construction when we arrived but was well lit at night and the work was completed within a few days . We did have an issue with a leaking ceiling fan vent above our toilet that got worse as our week progressed to the point you had to sit with a towel over your shoulders while in there. We did ask for it to be repaired and within a day or so it was BUT.....the day it was repaired we were on an excursion only to return to our room and [... read more]find my husbands favorite hat was missing out of our room . We reported it to customer service and they said they would do an investigation into it and to come back the next day . We wasted most of the next day dealing with the issue . End result , we did get the hat back and we were told it was found in a restaurant that we had not even been in. Seemed a little sketchy. We decided not to dwell on the situation and try to enjoy the rest of our vacation .Our room was ocean view which was great for the first few days but it also overlooked a public street that was very noisy and we awoke to dogs barking and boat repairs being done at 6am. We were moved to a new room and enjoyed the rest of the stay. The food at most of the restaurants was good and the entertainment at night was excellent. There was far too many locals trying to sell you excursions and gifts on the resort and on the beach. Also staff trying to sell you time share . We felt harassed every time we went to the main pool and lobby. Our Sunwing representative was excellent and very informative . She was always there to help answer questions and was very helpful with the hat issue. Overall our stay was adequate and one can expect that there will be issues or things go wrong . No resort is perfect and to keep everyone happy always is a challenge . On a final note i would like to give credit to Christian who worked around the pool that we spent most of our time at . Hard working . polite and always attentive to our needs . Thank you Christian for making us feel like family !

The best resort experience in years.
We booked our vacation at this resort at the very last minute/second running out of options and little disappointed that we were not able to go to another preferred place due to availability.
Vacationing over the years in different islands and resorts but first time at Be Live Collection, we were blown away with this experience. Resort itself was simply beautiful and clean. Good resort
Traveled with the family.
Loved the entertainment team especially Speedy, he was very attentive, fun, high energy and friendly.
Dining was good....could always find something to enjoy. Christmas Eve dinner was great.
Loved the nativity scene on the beach too and Santa's arrival on Christmas day.
Rooms and location in bldg 12 was very good. Thank you to Victor Pollantis for that. Washooms (flush mechanism did not work well but that did not trouble us). Rooms not cleaned till late af[... read more]ternoon or not done at all on two occasions, so hotel can pay more attention to that.
Beach okay, water had a lot of sea weed but that is not a hotel issue.
Vendors persistently ask you to buy items/excursions, even on the resort grounds which takes away from the relaxing atmosphere you need on a vacation.
Overall we had a great time and it was a nice break from the cold.

Nice Beach, Bad Food
We arrived on Dec.30, check in took 2 hours despite being "priority". The front desk also charged me double during arrival (in US funds) for VIP on my credit card which took hours to have corrected. We got block 5 and our room was 3rd floor and clean/nice. It's loud at night as they play music outside until 11:30pm+ daily - if you want quiet get a block/room FAR from the main pool area or you better bring earplugs. Service is OK, drinks at bars are strong! The food is terrible and the only good [... read more]experience was at Rodizio (Brazilian restaurant) if you have dietary restrictions there's very few options. VIP is worth it, its adults only; access to the best maintained pool, private lounge with free wifi, private beach/bar with larger alcohol selection and a second restaurant option for breakfast + lunch. Get ready to be harassed and hasseled daily both by resort workers selling excursions/time share and street vendors - its very irritating (be aware of rip offs if you buy in...). We were so tired of being haggled we never went to the disco as we were warmed it was filled with prostitutes... also there was an overwhelming amount of rude/obnoxious Russians staying there which was worrisome at times. The beach is well maintained and was the highlight of a disappointing resort. Rated 5 star but closer to a 3.

Over-rated!
Substandard food quality, slow service, lack of management interest in guest satisfaction!
It took us four hours and three trips back-and-forth to our assigned room before we were able to check into our room and, even at that, took 45 more minutes in line-up at main Reception to get our room key!
Our very first meal was a disappointment, as we had to wait 20 minutes for clean dishes to arrive. Same issue the next morning with clean coffee cups at breakfast... as if the hotel management di[... read more]dn't expect all registered guests to arrive as booked! Beach chairs were also at a premium if we arrived after 8:00 a.m.
Nightly entertainment, as well as any other event was totally spoiled by the MC/DJ/other group members trying to out-volume each other to an unbearable point - even long after midnight; which also made sleeping a luxury we couldn't enjoy!

Please don't go here..very bad experience!
Please do not go to this resort!!:
-room wasn't ready until 6pm that night..wasted our whole first day
-very poor speaking English, to the point of you having to do actions to try to describe something
-main pool never cleaned until our last day
-beach was dirty and only cleaned halfway through the day
- service was terrible to say the least; at times had to get up and get our own cutlery
-many people got up complained and then left restaurants because of the service...waited 2 hours mos[... read more]t nights to even get out appetizer
-managers didn't seem to care or didn't understand you
- had to pay $20USD for lobster at the "lobster restaurant"...which we didn't know until we got there (usually "all inclusive" means free)..lobster was rotten and they wouldn't reimburse us
-room only cleaned 3 times all week; the vents leaked water all over our floor and we paid extra for a "VIP room"
- had to ASK for clean towels to our room
I've been to over 15 resorts over the years ranging from 3.5-5 star, and this was by far the worst experience I've ever had...please listen to the reviews and do not book this resort!!!

Decent
Resort staff is great. Entertainers were very nice. Rooms were ok. A little dated. But you're not in your room a lot so not a big deal. The food was really good although the service could have been better. The windows buffet was a place where they could have used more staff to clear and set tables for the next group. Many times I sat there at empty tables waiting for cutlery and china. Reservations are required at the Japanese rest. We were there a week and did not get one. Book early. Our patio[... read more] doors in our room would not lock. They said they would send someone, no one ever showed. I am telling you the small things so as not to get your hopes up for perfection like we may get in North America. Set expectations a little lower and you will still have a great time as we did. Saying that, if I were to go back, I would try another location just to experience.

10 out of 10 can not reccomend!
First I'll just say I've reviewed a lot of places I have stayed and this is the FIRST time I've ever written a bad review. Previous to going to BE LIVE I read the reviews which were mostly bad but I thought ok take them with a grain of salt....but we experienced every bad thing that had been previously mentioned by other travelers.
PLEASE do not book here to BE LIVE COLLECTIONS and if you already have try your best to change resorts it is not worth the money or the headache.
SERVICE: The [... read more]service at BE LIVE is terrible...and I feel badly saying that because we did have a few servers in VIP who really worked hard for us but for the most part absolute garbage from start to finish. First off no one speaks any English and I'm not expecting English majors here or anything but that was the biggest issue if you had a problem or concern you weren't even able to convey it properly as no one understood each other.
We found our selves having meals without cutlery, cups, water... anything really lol Because service at BE LIVE just was non existent we found ourselves getting up and getting what we needed or serving ourselves, which we did on numerous occasions. The bar's favourite word was "no" can I get a beer? "no" can I get a mojito? "no" ok then what CAN I have? I could get a certain drink and 10 minutes later when I go up for another they wouldn't be able to make it for me? very confusing.
Some staff were straight up rude and gave you dirty looks or just neglected you.
I'm not sure if it was because it was Christmas break and was a busy time that they were understaffed? My thought was that this resort is very dead every other time of year so when it cames to high season they just couldn't keep up.....orrr not and they just suck year round.
The president of BE LIVE and his entire family was at the resort this week and we found we were always coming second to them which makes sense...but we'd be sitting at an a la cart being our typical ignored and then the owner and family would walk in and the waiters would be running them drinks and food, we didn't even know the staff could move that quickly! they certainly didn't for us...but on their way by with that water...could we maybe get some?
I know I'm going on and on about service I'm almost done, This is my MAIN ISSUE right here:
Second last day I ordered lobster at an a la cart, which isn't included so I had to pay for it and it was rotten...I know we've read this in other reviews but I was hoping for the best, but nope unfortunately rotten! Absolutely disgusting! however I didn't notice until half a tail was devoured because it was smothered in cheese and tomato chunks to cover it up, needless to say I was very ill. My boyfriend reported it to the reception desk to have it waved from our bill, clearly we aren't going to pay for lobster that gave me food poisioning. They didn't seem too care almost as if this was a regular thing for them to hear complaints about and told us to come back in the morning when the manager was in. We did go back and were told they'd look into it and when we checked out they'd take care of it. Flash forward to check out day, surprise, surprise we have a lobster charge and they wont wave it! They sent us to speak to someone in customer service where we had already visited to talk to: CHRISTINA who provided the most terrible customer service I have ever experienced in my life! she hardly spoke English, didn't listen to our issue or was ever willing to help she fought with us over if we even had a reservation and how many people that reservation was for that night(like that has anything to do with anything) and asked if I went to the doctors and wanted to see papers from the doctors and the reservation chit. Christina told us we waited 2 days to come in and tell them about this (which is incorrect) if I didn't have paper from the doctors then I made it up she proceeded to yelled at us stormed out of her office walked to the front reception slammed her hand down and said "they pay!" and then locked us out of her office....please fire her.
FOOD: From the previous story you'll understand it was inedible. The 24 hour burger place is great if you're drunk other then that you'll know it's day old with soggy lettuce, veins in burger parry, Cold and all in all garbage. Service is slow as anything, can't have a conversation and hand you a container of fries all at the same time making the line up go out the door for food.
Main buffet has varity sure it changes slightly every night but it's all gross. You feel awful after eating it everything is cold and has flies on it, we even saw a coach roach scurry across the floor under a counter and that was it for us for the buffet.
Another HUGE pet peeve at BE LIVE is there are points in the day where there is no where to eat! for a half an hour across the entire resort...no food! main buffet is closed, 24 hour burger place is closed and so are the a la carts. You think they would over lap these time so either the buffet or the 24 hour burger place would be open but no...starvation lol
A La Carts: Brazilian was so good!
Japanese was pretty decent
Mexican was good if you could get service and everything else terrible.
Another disappointing thins is they have menus at all A La Carts with lost of selection but then when you get service they come over and ask if you want this or that....so they don't ever have the things they say on the menu it was always just 2 options out of the entire menu.
The last night we had resos at the stake house for New Years and they had set up a stage on the beach which is very close to the restaurant and for our entire meal (which was gross) they BLARED Auqa- Barbie Girl over and over and over at least 7 times in a row. Now I'm a huge Aqua fan but everyone else who was trying to have a romantic meal or time with their family did NOT look pleased to be yelling over the obnoxious music.
BEACHES/POOLS: Beach is ok it's what you see in pictures it's busy and little sea weedy but hey that's the ocean for ya. It does have beautiful white powdery sand, lots of loud smelly boats because you're in the marina and a ton of locals trying to tell you literally anything you can imagine. (watches, sunglasses, paintings, hair braiding, massages, cigars, weed, cocaine, sex and one lady even tried to sell me the socks off her feet lol) it's not very relaxing and gets pretty old quickly and the security on the beach is buddies with all of them so their not getting ask to leave any time soon
Main pool is pretty dirty the water is murky with things floating in it, lots of kids and activates, it's loud with announcements every 5 minutes in Spanish and not my scene but it might be yours whatever, it had a swim up bar that sometimes didn't have beer (the "no" thing again)
The lazy river type pools in between each building are nicer, quite and relaxing. We eventually upgraded to VIP and that drastically improved things the VIP pool/ beach area is small but beautiful and bar never tells you "no". The service is so much better we had very hard working bar tenders and servers there.
We did a day excursion to Saona Island and it was stunning everything you want and picture our of a tropical beach and the ocean so clear and aqua. So if you hate your resort beach go check that one out! stunning
ROOMS: Oh the rooms, over all it was nice however our sliding door was jammed and you couldn't open it all the way or close it all the way so it just kind of remained open...we went to reception and complained twice and they did eventually send someone up to look at it but couldn't fix it so we went back to reception thinking ok they'll have to help us out somehow! But no, no other rooms available and wouldn't up grade us to a VIP room. We could however pay to upgrade for $700....they give people different prices depending on who your talking to, a previous review just said they upgraded for $100....so that's annoying. On top of that our toilet didn't refill with water when you flushed we had to fix it our selves. The shower was either freezing or scalding hot and the maid didn't get to our room to clean it everyday we had to go get our own fresh towels off a cleaning cart in the hallway and when the maid did come it was at 6:30pm so right when we were getting back from the beach and trying to get ready for dinner. We also had what looked like blood on our comforter one day.
ENTERTAINMENT: The night shows I saw were god awful. I think the only night that was good which I only caught the last 5 mins of was the Michael Jackson show but the rest was like watching your kids dance recital. Usually at resorts the shows they put on have a lot of talent as they hire talented locals and bring people in from other please to perform. Not at BE LIVE the only talented dancer was a blonde girl and everyone else didn't know what they were doing or have zero musicality it was uncomfortable to watch.
Casino/Disco: The casino is small and full of cigarette and cigar smoke and it's open to the public so it's not all inclusive in there you have to pay for your drinks. Same thing with the disco it looked like a great club but it was open to the public so again you had to pay for your drinks and it was only free to get into before a certain time.
New Years Eve: So much potential to be good! but in general BE LIVE style it fell short. They had a beach party where they had set up a stage and let off fireworks which was the best part of the night. The MC was brutal yelling into the mic 30 second - 1 minute how much time was left until the New Year which cutting off the music making it hard to dance to. And then 5 minutes before 12 the sound went out killing everyone buzz and they told us to go get a drinks and just hangout until they fixed it. anyways New years arrives they have great fireworks yay! And then they switched DJ's...The President and his family were there in a huge VIP tent and it must have been his son that got up there carrying with his Mac lap top and tried to DJ for the rest of the evening...garbage everyone stopped dancing.
FINAL THOUGHTS: Everything at be LIVE is extra for an all inclusive resort there is extra costs for everything! If you want a bed on the main beach...$10! if you want a lock on your safe in your room $7 a day/! If you want lobster at the lobster house...that's extra too! it's just frustrating. We paid a lot of money to come to BE LIVE and it just wasn't worth it! We made the best of it and over looked a lot of things but for the money we paid there shouldn't have been so many headaches honestly everything was a struggle.
So please just book else where it's not worth it, you will have a better time somewhere else I promise you.

Terrific time!
We just spent a Xmas week Dec. 23-30, 2016 at this resort. Before we went, I read many reviews so when we got there we upgraded our room to VIP room in block 7 and it's so worth it.
Entertainment team at this resort is amazing. They work hard everyday to involve guests doing different activities. It was also fun to watch people participating at the main pool. They deserve a 5* rating.
Food: Since we upgraded to VIP, we got to walk in any restaurant without making any reservation for dinner[... read more]s. The only exception is the Japanese restaurant. The only time we didn't like our dinner was on Xmas Eve, the menu wasn't good that night. Overall, we love all the food at all restaurants. For VIP, we were eating at separate buffet breakfast and lunch at the Aqua and they were really good.
Room: our room was nice but the cleaning service was super slow so we only let them in once. The room is dated and we have a pool view room with a jacuzzi tub. It is very spacious.
Beach: this strip has a lot of algae, although the beach cleaning crew work really hard cleaning it everyday. To the left of the hotel, there is a stretch of beautiful beach. We walked there twice during our stay, it took about 15 minutes one way.
Services: I find the staff at this resort is so slow. They took so long to clear the tables at the main buffet. The workers talked so much among themselves.
Security: We mainly stayed at the Adults VIP section and I can tell you that the security guy was good at keeping the vendors away from us sun bathers.
Our overall experience is very good. We will definitely go back because of the entertainment and the food. I will give this resort a 3.5*

Amazing resort, but badly run
Amazing resort on a nice beach, but very poorly managed and run. During my family's stay, the welcome team were very rude and unhelpful. The resort was over occupied and under staffed which made everything harder
We often had to line up and wait for plates, cups , food and service in general which was very slow
We were dropped off in a schetcy lobby and asked to leave our lauguge there because check in is not till 4 pm. (Not what is expected)
Bought the internet package for the. Week , it [... read more]was a waste of money the internet is so weak and rarely connects.
Rooms don't get cleaned daily and you're only allowed one towel per person.
Piña colada, was the biggest disappointment at be live
The main lobby has a bar that only services VIP ( no this was not cool). Had to pay for my coffee every time because I was not a VIP ( not empressed)
We have been to be live in Purta plata and we were thinking this would be if not the same may be better, we thought wrong
At this time I would hate for anyone to have an experience like mine.

Amazing Trip with hiccups
The hotel and the staff were great for the most part. Guest services in the main lobby were so helpful with a problem I had with excursions I booked with my tour rep, before my arrival to Punta Cana. Carmelo was exemplary. So friendly, helpful. He and the Via staff were my go-to person for anything I needed during my stay. I had a problem with my room upon my arrival. The VIP CSR assisted with my room change the next day and Carmelo assisted with moving my luggage and helped me get settl[... read more]ed in. Made sure room no issues or concerns like the other room did. Near the end of the vacation, housekeeping slacked, left with no towels, unchanged sheets, needed new robe and toiletries, room was left untidy, and unfortunately I was on twelve hour full day excursions which left me unable to follow up with my concerns and requests for all of the above mentioned to be addressed. The front desk would tell me they would have it rectified. It wasn't. Next day same thing. Then the next day I was leaving, so I didn't bother. I did write a review immediately after my stay. They addressed them and reassured myself, that if I were to return they would offer me compensation. Wish I could say the same for my Sunwing representative. They didn't show up for my welcome meeting. I was left waiting. I left a detailed description of concerns regarding my original room, they contacted myself, said they would keep calling me until they reached me and had received confirmation everything was addressed and resolved. I never heard from them again. Immediately after we discussed the room concerns, they asked if I was interested in booking any excursions, I replied no, as I booked all mine already. They hung up. I was extremely disappointed with my Sunwing representative. I have never experienced anything like that.

You Get What You Pay For!
You truly do get what you pay for. Five of us went from October 3 to 10, 2016 and we each paid just over $1,000 for the week. I typically don’t listen to reviews and like to form my own opinion but in this instance all of the negative reviews are spot on. I will breakdown by section below what we thought of our stay.
Public Areas: First off, the grounds were very well maintained. This was one of the only things that made the vacation bearable. However, there was constant harassment of peopl[... read more]e trying to sell you excursions, trips, etc. everywhere you walked. Even if you were just sitting by the pool attempting to relax, they would interrupt whatever you were doing (having a conversation, reading a book, or even laying down) to try and sell you something. This was particularly annoying since the main purpose of a vacation is to relax!
Rooms: My girlfriend and I stayed in the standard room and were quite disappointed in how run down the room was. We stayed in block 5 and had a room with 2 double (or queen, I can’t remember) beds. If you’re booking with a significant other and would like a King bed, you must upgrade to receive this. The room didn’t have much to it - however a plus was that the shower was always hot and the air conditioning worked pretty well.
However… the night before we left, I rinsed my Bubba cup (that I had left on the counter near the washroom), as I took off the lid, this huge beetle looking bug came crawling out of it. This was absolutely disgusting and I have no idea where this bug came from. I wish I had taken a picture so that I could have uploaded for everyone to see.
Dining: Warning: do not get the burgers from the Burger place near the main pool. They are NOT cooked (unless you like your beef VERY pink throughout the whole burger) and as a result I was sick for a couple of days after consuming the burger. However, their pizza and mozzarella sticks are quite tasty. The alls-carts were okay - nothing too special. It was very frustrating that some of the staff did not speak English well enough to understand what you wanted to order. I don’t think they should be a waiter/waitress if they can’t understand what you’re ordering. My whole family had issues with this. The buffets were relatively good - I particularly enjoyed the fresh bread that was available for each meal! The fruit was very good as well. They had a number of different choices available at breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I never got bored to the selection available.
Beach: The beach was pretty nice - I didn’t like that they had it sectioned off with rope - it didn’t look very nice to the eye compared to other resorts I’ve been too. There was not much seaweed, which was a plus. There were always men walking up and down the beach once again trying to sell you excursions, fake watches, etc. I felt like I was being rude because I kept saying no thank you over and over. I understand it’s their job to sell but this was a little much. I’ve never been to a resort before where the staff were constantly harassing you to buy.
Pools: First off, I want to confirm what all the other negative pool reviews are saying…. the main pool is absolutely gross. By no means am I picky but it was disguising. The sides of the pool had clear and visible moss/algae. It was a shame that you couldn’t even lean up against the side of the pool with a drink in hand without having this slimy substance all over you.
The bottom of the main pool was very rough - it needs to be fixed as it is clearly dated and falling apart. At one point, there was a white film covering half of the pool (the side near the volleyball net) and there was NO ONE in the pool because of this. Either the filter wasn’t working or the staff didn’t clean the pool. Nonetheless, this is unacceptable at a resort. It sucked because it was a very nice day out and no one could go into the pool because of this.
OVERALL, I guess you get what you pay for. For $1,000 it wasn’t the worst but it sure wasn’t the best. Would I ever go back here? Absolutely not. To top things off, we received free-wifi since we were SunWing customers. However, one male staff member would not give me the wifi password unless I tipped him. This is unacceptable and I would not recommend this resort to anyone. If you have any questions about this resort at all, please feel free to send me a message with your concerns/questions and I will be truthful with you!

Very nice hotel...4*
When we got there we upgraded to VIP and we are very happy we did because it was worth the $350. This resort was a fun and there was always something going on somewhere and the food was very good. But there wasn't very many Canadians, I would say 85% of the people there were Europeans and the other 15% were Americans and Canadians. This resort could use a total paint job because it's looking a little rough but all in all it was worth the money we spent.

Good Resort
I will say, overall, the resort was good. The food was great (almost like home) and the restaurants were okay. Room was nice. View was good. Beach was not the best. Not sure if it was from the storm, but a lot of seaweed. Wish the main pool was open but was closed down. The other pools were okay. The best way to go is VIP. The people trying to sell time shares are brutal. Very pushy. They have vendors in the evening, set up all over, selling jewelry and they are bad. Best advice, walk [... read more]away! Sunwing Rep is deserving of a 5 Star
Whoever you have for a travel rep, make sure you use there services when needed. Our Sunwing Rep. Deyanina (sp) went above and beyond for us. When we told her our concerns she went to the counter with us and made any inquires on our behalf. I have been to many all inclusives and I have never had the service that I have had with Deyanina, she made our stay bearable.
2 hr check in, no welcoming drink, moved to 2 different locations for check in. Asked to move rooms after second day due to room [... read more]repairs. Nothing wrong with the room. New location across from 1st room was loud due to evening music. We asked for a quiet area when room was booked. 4th day water shut off for 18 hrs. no warning. Front desk told us it would be off for an hour and it was only our block. Turns out it was the whole resort. Pool emptied same day and major repairs begun and was still on going when we left. Again no warning. No extra loungers taken to the beach to accommodate nothing being at the pool. Formal dress not enforced at the al a cartes. The steak and the Fish al a cartes had people walking off of the beach wet and in bathing suits walking right thru them and not one person stopped this. Went for the lobster which is advertised as per person when in fact is per pound. Server climbed on top of the table to retrieve the lobster out of the tank and after weighing it proceeded to chase a bather at crotch level when she was cutting thru the restaurant coming off of the beach. If you want us to dress and not act like animals, then we expect for the staff and other patrons to act the same way. A leak from our ceiling for 4 days I guess doesn't seem to be an issue to the resort. So we just kept a towel down so we wouldn't wipe out. The rooms are very spacious and the staff keep the rooms clean. MOST employees always had a smile and were very helpful when they could. Would I be back NOPE, why because when I ask a question regarding an inconvienance I expect the truth and let me deal with it the best way I can.
The tourists around the resort were rude, we saw one young man steal a towel and his mother thought there was nothing wrong with it, people infringe on the area you are sitting in on the beach and think nothing of walking where ever they want even if it might bother someone else.
Would I recommend this resort again, Nope, but it's not my vacation you have to decide that for yourself.

Good resort great staff
We were upgraded to vip. Services were excellent staff were excellent everything was excellent except for plumbing. They were working on it when we arrived. Older buildings being renovated I believe. Toilets not working daily. Water coming through the ceiling of one room but moved to a honeymoon suite. No hot water sometimes. Everything else was excellent which made up for the plumbing renos
