Fantastic Resort !!!!

Food, resort, accomodations and the service was 5 star / awesome. We will definitely return again next year. We HIGHLY recommend Blue Bay Cancun. Best server was named Eric (steakhouse)......top notch service!!!

Great resort

The resort was lovely with the staff being so friendly and helpful. Food was good, facilities were clean, only downside was the seaweed on the beach but they can’t control Mother Nature! Had a lovely stay.

ÉVIDEMMENT ON NE PROFITE PAS DE LA PLAGE CAR LES ALGUES NE SENTENT PAS MAIS PRENNENT TOUTE LA PLACE. ON A TROUVÉ 4 RESTO SUR 6 EXCELLENTS ( SAUF ASIATIQUE ET ITALIEN ...TRÈS MOYENS ). LES CHAMBRES SONT TRÈS CORRECTES, AIR CLIMATISÉ PEU RÉGLABLE MAIS OK. IL Y A UN MANQUE DE KART POUR SE PROMENER CAR LA PLAGE ET PISCINES SONT LOIN DU LOBBY. LES BUFFETS SONT BIEN DIVERSIFIÉS.

Good and bad features

The positive with this resort are the rooms are clean and the food is great. The buffet and a la carte restaurants were all very good. Our room had water come up through the bathroom floor drain. The staff responded very quickly to resolve it and any other requests. Wi fi service is good. Golf cart train to transport guests around this large property was efficient and always friendly. All staff were always friendly, service was terrific. The beach is not appealing. The seaweed dominates the  [... read more]beach, the water is muddy due to the natural stirring of sand. Yuck! Good luck finding a lounge chair at the pool or beach unless you park your towel or belongings on it by 9am. This practice is so annoying,especially when unoccupied for hours on end. The evening shows are poor and the images constantly projected on the entire stage backdrop may send you into epileptic seizures if prone. The staff member Florida was most annoying immediately upon our arrival. It quickly became evident she was not really interested in providing us with a welcome refreshment, but was selling time shares (choice one).

Wouldn’t stay again!

The hotel wasn’t great. There was no hot water, the power shut off one day at resort, the food was awful and the beach was full of seaweed. Defiantly was disappointed. Wasn’t easy to get into the a la Carte restaraunts and the buffets were packed. Not a happy customer

Crappy Resort - False Advertisment

If you like a pool party drinker resort with 20 somethings running around drunk all hours this is your resort. I go for beaches and this one was fill with rotting seaweed with flies. I fell completely ripped off. The beach was filled with a strong odor of rotting fishy seaweed. It made you want to gag. I took pictures to provide proof. They had 1 or 2 workers trying to combat the problem with rakes and wheel barrows but this made no different. You would think for a resort this size and suppos [... read more]edly classy. They would have a machine like the other resorts to clean this stuff up. This forced people into the pools. These were kind of kept by staff. They would just add approximate amounts of chemicals to the pool. My daughter got sick. Was is from the pool or the fact hand sanitizer was not used by guests when entering the dining area? She was sick enough that when we arrived at the airport on our way home she threw up blood. This as parent is a super scary thing to see, especially in a foreign country. BLOOD ..Let that sink in I would never in a million years recommend this place to anyone other then party college kids.

Never use Trip central

I would love to tell you what a wonderful time we both had on the trip, however my son had a medical condition that prevented us from going at all, I spoke to Wendy regarding the matter and unfortunately I wasn’t able to get any kind of compensation for a trip in the future. The only thing I learned is how important it is to have cancellation insurance for the vacation otherwise like myself I spent just under $2500.00 for NOTHING. I feel responsible for not reading the fine print and not purch [... read more]asing some kind of insurance for this particular medical condition. Live and learn. If you had any clue this actually took place I’m sure you would not be sending me a review. Thanks for taking my hard earned money and no I promise I won’t recommend your service to anyone.

Great resort

it was very clean and well maintained. Shuttle service was adequate. the beach was covered in seaweed but did not impact our stay at blue bay. More control over guests which do not respect others noise levels. We were very fortunate to be on the fourth floor and could muffle the sounds of the noise from the parties on the first floor (all 50 of them) The food was very good at the buffet . Home away from home

This was our 4th time at Blue Bay. This resort never disappoints we absolutely love everything about it. We had no complaints from start to finish they were very accommodating. Service from house keeping to bar tenders fantastik. We cant wait to go back again in November.

True Traveller

Gounds and pool were very clean. Food is always fresh. Rooms were dated. Staff could have been friendlier. Water pressure was horrible in showers. Beach was covered in thick sea weed all along the Mayan area from hurricanes this past fall. Water was too rough to swim in at beach. Very accepting of lesbians.

Great Vacation

This was our second visit to this resort. Things where great. We had ground floor rooms that where perfect . We had daily visits from the wildlife and so enjoyed watching them. Service was good ,food , pools ,beach everything great..I'm sure we will return.

Good resort

Staff are excellent and are hard working. Rooms are very clean but outdated. Rooms need updating and shower tub combination is very hard to get in. You literally have to sit and swing your legs into the tub because of the height of the ledge. Food is good and there are many great options to choose from. Steakhouse French Italian and Mexican were excellent. The resort is really spread out so plan on walking a lot or taking the shuttle trains. Great resort

Blue Bay is a big reset with about 1,000 rooms. Despite its size the rooms are well kept, the grounds were impeccable and service was excellent. We were able to book dinners at the specialty restaurants every night, no restrictions. Would probably go back in the next couple of years.

It was ok.

The grounds were beautiful and the staff were friendly. The festival buffet was good. I didn't think the other buffet and snack bar had as much variety. The bed was very comfortable and we had very good sleep. Over all it was a pleasant stay but I personally wouldn't go again because the beach is almost non existant, room service is NOT included, you need to make reservations for the restaurants and they were almost always booked! Even if you show up at 730am. So we basically ate at the b [... read more]uffet everyday. The Mexican and Italian restaurants were available but they sucked (you're better off at the buffet). We have stayed at better. Also its in a swap and full of mosquitos which they fumigate for regularly in the middle of the day so we breathed in quite a bit of that! So did our 2 year old son which I was really upset about because they don't warm you ahead of time so you can't avoid going out when they do that. When you do complain about something...like inhaling fumigation chemicals or not being able to get into the nicer restaurants despite waking up early like they told you to, they don't seem to care. The attitude seems to be "well that's how it is".So yeah all in all would not go back because I know there are better places out there

Great stay

Really enjoyed our time at blue bay. Friendly staff, good food. Unfortunately water wansnt the tourquoise blue of past years but I suspect the seaweed bloom had a lot to do with it. Lots of workers on the beach daily raking and taking away to make it as nice as possible for the visitors. Tours were easy to book and well priced. Shuttle bus into town was convenamd safe.

Great Place to Vacation

First time for us in Mexico and we could not find much wrong with the resort other then they don't have Blue Cheese dressing at the buffets. They could use a few more golf carts to move people around quicker. All the people were friendly and kind and spoke fairly good English. All areas were clean and well maintained. Outside the resort you have to careful as the place is running with ripoff artist. we got scammed for 269.00 usd for a ring that Westjet (bd) tours forced us to go into a jewelle [... read more]ry factory in order to get a free ride to 5th ave. where there is more of these robbers for miles. Had the ring checked out in Canada and its junk. I am not sure yet who is at fault for putting Senors in rooms right in between a bunch of Mexican University students who were on spring break and do not sleep. Up all night screaming and making a mesh, load music and noise until 5.00 am and then start all over again at 10.00 am. Our last night the Resort did move us. I would go back but not on any spring break.

Fun Holiday

Went to this hotel from January 26, 2019 to February 2, 2019. Enjoyed my vacation. Positives were the building location to the beach and pool, very clean, great food and wonderful staff. Negatives were the room was dated (could use a face lift), beach was eroded and in need of repair, lots of seaweed, noise carried through out the hallways right into the room, entertainment was very lacking as was the Black and White and wild life critters running around the resort.

Wonderful Holiday

This was the second time my husband and I visited this hotel. The food is plentiful and fantastic. The restaurant service is very friendly and staff are very knowledgeable. We were fortunate to receive a room upgrade to a suite over looking the ocean. This upgrade definitely enhanced our stay. Every morning we would take pictures of the sun rise and the beach view. Prior to the room upgrade, our view consisted of the jungle. A bit disappointing.

Average resort

The staff are super at the blue bay. Very friendly and try their hardest to please. The food was very good. Resort is a little tired and could do with some refreshing. Also the main lobby lacks. No nice bar nor entertainment. A live band would of been nice to listen too instead of the typical shows and disco music.

Bluebay grand esmeralda

Air canada made this trip prety bad for us , we took our flight to toronto a day early befor our transfer flight to mexico so that we could go visit toronto , cn tower etc.. arrived in toronto saturday night went to get our luggage following everyone who also came from our plane , we waited close to one hour befor the belt with the luggage started moving , only one bag came out , waited and waited thought maybe it was a little delayed , finaly we went to ask the worker and gave us the run around [... read more] for 20 minutes untill they finaly told us all our luggage was sent to montreal instead of toronto and that it would arrive to toronto at 8am the following day so at that time its close to midnight we decided to just go to the hotel because the night was done , we got up early to go make sure we got our luggage befor our transfer flight to mexico , got there still no luggage they said should be here at 12pm , kept waiting still nothing , finaly after waiting untill we had to board our plane to mexico they still had no answer , arrived at the resort we spend 3 days with nothing , dealing with air canada trying to find our luggage after paying so much money for this trip , we lost our night in toronto and lost almost 3 days enjoying our trip , but after this air canada nightmare our luggage finaly showed up with a couple days left of our trip so we made the best of it , the resort was amazing the staff was awesome verry friendly , loved the seadoos that where right on the beach at the resort ! Not one complaint on the resort , food was great !! Hopefully air canada can find a way to make it right for making the start of our vacation a nightmare !!
