Grand Sirenis

I would say really wonderful and thank you for the advise on this hotel. Great! I would say 5 star . Beach was great, lazy river was wonderful for the kids and myself. The restaurants were professional and the people were great and live shows were great.

Good resort

Food is good, not exceptional. Pools in resort are awesome! resort is big, clean! beach wasn't good for us, big storm previous week. I would recommend it to someone I enjoyed it! Third best beach is around the corner

So much fun!

We had the best time. There is so much to do! We wish we had stayed for 2 weeks! The only thing I would change is the sound level of the nightly entertainment. It hurt my ears, and the sites were do good it would have been nice to enjoy them without having to plug my ears.

Wonderful

First it was a very good experience booking with Tripcentral.This was my second time staying at Grand Sirenis Riveria Maya, again a wonderful time. It is very clean, room are minimalist decor, the food is good always something to good to eat.The Japanese and Italian restaurant were fabulous. The children loved the lazy river and the ice cream parlor. The beach was a little disappointing as is was the season of lots of seaweed, they did tried very hard to clean but was coming in. faster than they [... read more] could keep it up.The only thing that was a BIG issue was to use the ATM , charged $7.85 plus 10% of the money you were taking out. Terrible. Take out cash at airport. Its is a large property, shuttles are available but you may need to wait and you may need to do alot of walking( which is ok). The evening show were very professional, better than the average resort.

Great value!

Very nice hotel. The rooms are a bit dated, but the cost was low. The food, service, and pools were great. The beach leaves a bit to be desired, rocky and a rough ocean. I can do without the nickel and diming: charging for a room safe was ridiculous, never experienced that EVER.Also, in this day and age, I would think that WIFI should be freely available, which it was not.

Great time!

We stayed at Grand Serenis Resort during the Easter break, 2015, and we had a great time. We are a family of 5, 2 adults and 3 children, ages 7,9,11. The food was good, enjoyed the a la cartes, Japanese was our favorite! The kids enjoyed the pool more than the beach. They found it a bit rocky, but we did find a nice sandy part, and the workers worked hard to gather the seaweed. What an entertainment team! They made it really fun for everyone! The resort was big but not too big that you didn't get to know the staff. We were located in the 1600 block which was central to everything, buffet, beach, pool. My only complaint would be that the bed (pullout) that my husband and I slept on was very uncomfortable. Despite that, though, I would definitely recommend this resort to any family!

Great Family Oriented Resort!

Grounds were well kept. Great activities onsite. (Biking, Tennis, Archery, Soccer). Food was very good. Rooms were large. the sofa pullout bed wasn't easy on the back. Great pools and lazy river. Beach was nice with Beach service. We saw turtles while snorkeling offshore! We saw spider monkeys in the trees near our room!

The hotel was fabulous! The grounds are well kept and the rooms are large and clean. We found the resort huge but didn't have any trouble catching a ride on a golf cart. (Older adults) The shows were well done and entertaining. The food was awesome . Our favourite restaurants were the Japanese and the Steak House. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Lots of pallapas at this resort so you can have shade if you want. Go see the dolphin show at the resort . It's free unless you want to swim with them. All in all this is a fantastic resort ! First Trip South- It was Amazing WOW!

This was the first time I was ever to a Resort down South in my 46 years of life. I would recommend this Resort to all my friends and Family- Heck we are already planning our next time. The workers are A-1 and Provided A-1 Service. I would actually like to pass on a personal Thanks and my Appreciation to Ivan and Guadalupe, they made my Stay at the resort warm and welcoming. It wasn't what we expected!!!

Well, we, 5 families, were there during the March break. Few things that we all complained about. First the safety box that we paid $45 for one week, only for getting the code... totally nonsense!!! The pillows and mattresses were very uncomfortable. The water in the pool wasn't clean enough. There was no sandy beach, indeed. The in room Jacuzzi tub was yellowish that you can't be really used. My son got sick one night and I asked for a soup in the room. The resort wasn't what I expected...

Best Family Vacation So Far

This was our second time staying at the Grand Sirenis and loved it even better the second time. We brought our children this time for 10 days and got to use so much of the resort to keep our days full and entertaining. The food was outstanding and tons of variety for different likes. All staff were amazing and always friendly. This being our fourth straight year in the Mayan this resort by far had the friendliest staff we have ever encountered. We dealt with trip central and couldn't believe the amazing customer service right from the first click to the phone calls from our advisor to make sure everything was smooth. Transat holidays was our carrier and by far they are the best airline we have ever flown with. The service they give to families with children make a vacation stress free and relaxing in their care. Fantastic in almost all regards

We loved the service, the food, the staff, the drinks, the snorkeling and the rooms. Our only disappointment was the rocky beach access everything else exceeded our expectations. We were a group of 9.

Great vacation spot

Pools were great- whole family loved lazy river. There is a nice quiet one if you want or lots of activities at other 2.If you are a like long walks on beach or out in ocean this may not be the right spot for you. Very rustic - beautiful, but because of all the large rock area not good for long walks. 2 beautiful small spots- great for small children just wanting to play in sand. Almost impossible to get into a la cartes. It is also book through concierge.( One in each building) Don't let them fool you - you can book at front desk which is better cause concierge is also there time share people!!!!! This is the one thing that really bugged me. Rooms were big ,room service was very nice. Never had any issues with our stay at all. Grounds were gorgeous!!! Monkeys toucans, raccoons ,and another few animals I cant remember the name of. Restaurant service was slow but most staff were very friendly Great family vacation. We don't like to go to same place twice but I would definitely use there resorts again.!

Very Nice Family Resort

We really enjoyed this resort. We had our two kids, aged 14 and 11, and they loved it, especially the snorkeling on the coral reefs right off the beach. Clear, warm waters, tropical fish by the hundreds and a sea turtle kept us amused for hours. Great beach, though not as sandy as Varadero, for example. The hotel grounds were immaculate and the staff were very friendly. Nice architecture, large rooms (junior suite). The lazy river was also a hit with the kids. The food wasn't great, but it was g [... read more]ood - a la carte restaurants weren't much better than the buffet. The only real detractions were iffy housekeeping (no toilet paper), and things got pretty loud and the language colorful around the pool bar by late afternoon - but you get that anywhere. Overall, very satisfied.

Excellent Resort but beach is so so.

The room and resort was clean and perfect. A lot of walking but that helps burn off the food. Best a la carte was the Brazilian. Thanks to Angel for an excellent night at the Brazilian. Wine is not very good so bring your own from duty free.

Excellent Destination

This was our first trip to this resort, but not our last. Large clean bright rooms. Friendly staff eager to help with any problem. Some of the best food I have had in the Mayan. Dont miss the brazilian a la carte if you go. Smaller slightly rocky beach, but provided excellent snorkeling with lots of fish and a few turtles If you can upgrade to an ocean view room third floor. So worth it for the breeze, the sound of the waves and the proximity to the beach We had a great trip here

Super family holiday!

Adult children and grandchildren accompanied us and had a great time together. We enjoyed the many activities and pleasant staff. Having read previous reviews, I was hesitant, but found no problems as stated. The resort is not new, but is very clean and didn't hear the noise that others complained about. I had a couple of issues, but the staff dealt with them immediately and checked later to see if we were satisfied. Only real complaint is that we wish the pool water could have been warmer...... [... read more].the Caribbean Sea at the beach was much more pleasant.

Good resort for my first time in Mexico

Hotel: clean, lots of fresh ocean breezes flushing through the main lobby. The buildings were repeating the motif of the local Mayan ruins (looked neat). Staff: in a word- helpful. Front end people had a good command of English and Vanny went out of her way to help us out. The maids had less English but even then were superb in doing their job. Only then did anything savoury and spicy start to show up. Complaints: Our arrival coincided with the end of a rain storm. We had a leak in the ceiling light fixture that filled 3/4 of the garbage can I put under it to collect the dripping. Just a little concerning to have running water and electricity meeting. Also, it seems there is a 2 tier class system at the resort. These with the grey bands and everyone else. If you are wearing the grey band (like me) you have to pay extra for internet and the safe in the room. No access to the French resteraunt (extra $$) as well. Overall: would I return to Mexico- yes. Would I return to the Sirenis Riviera Maya- probably not

Amazing Family Reunion at Grand Sirenis!!

when I first arrived I wasn't sure I was going to like this resort as it looks very different from all the other resorts I have been to but I am so glad to say that my opinion quickly changed. We were a group of 23 from all across Canada coming for a family reunion - we couldnt have asked for a better vacation spot - the resort is very large but once you learn your way around it makes all the difference. Food at buffet was so good that there really wasnt even a need to book an ala carte - kids had way more options at the buffet! There is nothing negative I can say and we would definately go back to this resort!!!

Grand Serinis was much more than the pictures show

Amazing grounds.....so lush. Wildlife was abundant. The picture did not do it justice. The beach was the best I have ever been to for calm and snorkeling. The ala carts I visited were great and the main lobby buffet had great breakfasts. Never ate room service so I can not comment.
