Absolutely awesome resort!!!!

This hotel was fantastic - perfect for me, easy enough to get around, as I have mobility issues & need something where I know there won't be alot of walking to do. This was my 2nd visit to this resort, I stayed in 2017, before the hurricane - I can tell you - as a repeat guest this time .... was I ever treated special & I truly appreciated that!! My room was lovely, no complaints whatsoever - I was in the 22 block & not a single issue at all. I arrived late at night, so was unable to see the  [... read more]view from my balcony until morning, at which point - I almost cried - I overlooked the lake, it was just absolutely gorgeous - I enjoyed many sunsets from my balcony. The staff is amazing throughout the entire resort, 1 person in particular made my vacation!! Ely in the towel booth, he also provides some entertainment & activities throughout the day at the pool....make sure to say hi to Ely! He is THE BEST EVER!! He made me laugh all week, more than I have in a long time..we are best of friends now & I look forward to going back again soon. I would recommend this resort to anybody looking for a beautiful beach, excellent staff, rooms - this resort has it all....this is MY go to vacation spot for sure!!! Love Memories Caribe Cayo Coco!! Great Resort

We visited Memories Caribe in June at the strong recommendation of my co-worker. So glad we listened! Our room was quite good, exactly what we requested, block 24, right beside the ocean. We didn’t mind the lack of bathroom door. It flowed with an open concept room. Bed was comfortable, that’s all we need. Staff was amazing from the entertainment crew including the dynamic Ely and Lazara to the lovely Yumilba afterwards at the snack bar. Nightly shows were well done. Our favourite was the  [... read more]water show. No shortages of food or drink while we were there. Buffet was pretty good. We usually headed to the grilling stations for fish or chicken. Always something delicious to try. We liked the Ala Carte restaurants. Our favourite was the Mediterranean. Waiters were so funny! Visited the piano bar daily for a yummy Spanish Coffee. So good. Pool was great. Beach was amazing. That’s one of the main reasons we go to Cuba. The other is the lovely people. We did one excursion to the city of Moron, which included stops to a coffee/cigar plantation, sugar mill, authentic Cuban lunch, and boat ride through a mangrove. Well worth the experience, but a long day. This adults only resort works very hard to provide a memorable vacation. I’ve already recommended it to another co-worker!

Great vacation

Great vacation! Hotel is clean, beautiful and quiet. Staff is very friendly and trying to do everything they can to make you happy. Food is simple but clean and fresh- grilled fish and meat every lunch and dinner. If you are not picky with variety of food choices you won’t be hungry. Beach and water- AMAZING! Definitely will come again.

Beautiful Cuba and Cuban people...

For the most part this was an amazing resort. It was not very full when we were there. No lines anywhere; food, bar, etc. Pool often only had 5 or 10 people around it. Same with beach, very sparsely used. We went late June. Not the busy time. Certainly the hot time! Rooms clean, food good to great, staff wonderful. No complaints... really, looking back everything was great.

Nice resort

My boyfriend and I went for one week and really enjoyed this resort. The only think that we didn’t like was the food, there were very little options and both of us are vegetarians/vegan so it was really hard to find things to eat. The staff was super friendly and went out of their way to help us out. The room was decent, it was clean and big, however, there were no doors at all for the washroom so there was very little privacy. Entertainment was also really great, the staff organizing the games made us had a good time and the shows at night were amazing. We went to the gym almost everyday and although the cable machine was really outdated it was a decent gym for a one week stay. The resort itself is so large and beautiful there is so much to see, apart from the food we would definitely recommend this resort. Also the security guard Manuel was so nice and helped us out. Also Ely part of the entertainment staff ensured we had a great time!

Beautiful Resort

Travelled to Memories Caribe in early May and absolutely loved it . Beach is jaw dropping , pool area is nice with swim up bar . Staff are very friendly and go out of their way to greet you and offer help . A la carte’s were very good . Excellent margaritas , mojito’s and Spanish coffee. Rooms were a little dated but very clean and beds were comfortable . Only issue was bugs and mosquitoes in early morning and at night so be sure to take bug spray ! I will definately be returning!

Great time

The staff are superb, the rooms, grounds, pool and beach are all well maintained. If you are in need of sand, Sun and the sea then by all means go. The food in Cuba generally comes in for criticism due it's blandness. I don't have that complaint. Unlike other places in the region Cuban cuisine is by contrast a staple of meat, rice and beans with little spice, peppers or exotic sauces. Should you wish to have a gastronomic experience each time you eat then there are other options for you in the  [... read more]Caribbean. But if all you wish is for the food to be fresh, and available in quantity then the food will sustain you, and your stay will be an enjoyable one because all of one's basic needs are met. Each of the other elements l've mentioned come together to make going there worthwhile. The pristine beach, the all day Sun and life affirming Sun sets make Caya Coco a go-to.

Not Our Happiest Experience

Overall we found the resort to be very clean and welcoming. It was quite large but never felt crowded. The beach was excellent and offered a very positive experience. Overall the food was less than positive as it was very often cold when it should have been hot. As well the room had a very musty odor which made staying in the room unpleasant. Going outside or even sitting in the lobby was often unpleasant of the mosquitoes were numerous and a major distraction. Signs are posted at the beach say [... read more]ing that reserving lounge chairs was not permitted but this was not enforced so trying to find a place to sit was very challenging. The staff overall was not responsive or helpful when seeking answers to questions or assistance. This will be our only visit to this vacation destination.

Good

The beach was fantastic the food was okay the room was nice but sometimes you would not have hot water and you couldn’t get a clean beach towel not much entertainment at night staff was very friendly overall it was nice

Not impressed

We liked that this was a small resort,but after 24 hours we found out the ac was set on 25 the ac would not get the room below 25 but felt warmer in the room there was mould around the ac and smelled very musty, there was many tiny ants in the room and I got bit by something the first night when I sat on the bed , There was a constant shortage for foods all week, at the buffet there was under cooked meat and refrigerator cold potatoes the food was just overall terrible I got sick after the fir [... read more]st time eating and have been sick ever since Diamond club was not worth it as there was no perks other than getting beer in the fridge and a breakfast at the one of the restaurants Diamond club bar was not exclusive to diamond club members could not get a seat on this bar as it was constantly full with non diamond club members this resort needs to concentrate on upgrades they need to ensure that the diamond club members actually get diamond club perks

Totally awesome beach!

The only down side to this resort ! that I found was that after the night show was over around 9.30 ish. There was no more intertaiment at all. Night bar ! Etc. Would of been nice to have someone play at the bar. Low key after 10 oc. Dianne at the reception desk was awesome to deal with she is a asset to the resort! And so is the assistant Manager who is totally awsome.

Great time!

Overall we had an amazing stay. Traveled as a couple from April 23-30th. Grounds are very well kept. We stayed in building 18 and the room was very nice. We had a door to the bathroom and no issues with hot water. Beach is beautiful. Water is calm and shallow. We usually went to the beach around 11am and had no issues finding chairs. We did a couples massage at the end of the beach that was awesome. It was 30 cucs for 2 people for 30 minutes and was worth it. Buffet always has fresh grill stations (beef, chicken, fish, stir fry) and fresh pasta. All very good no complaints. There are bugs at night we always sprayed with big spray before leaving the room and had no issues. Overall it was great for what you’re paying and we would go back!

Amazing Resort!!!

This was our first trip to Cayo Coco, Cuba and it Surpassed our Expectations!!!! All of the Staff are extremely Friendly and Welcoming!! Our Accomadation was quite clean and Beautifully designed. There was quite a selection of foods to meet even the most fussy dining guests. Also, I cannot forget the Beach... Simply Stunning!!!!!!

Diamond Club

I had purchased Diamond Club as an upgrade. For this I received the following. The bathroom was disgusting. Shower tiles were broken. Floor tiles had mouldy grout. I had no hot water for the entire 7 days. No-one cared. The rest of the room is best described as run down. My view was of the back wall of a building not of the pool.

Amazing

The resort is great staff very glad to help in any way,always having a smile for u .the only thing was the new bathroom don’t have doors on them and NOT A FAN. like some private time in bathroom”great time and will go again

Great resort!

I loved this resort although it was my first time down south so not much to compare it to. I liked the intimate feeling of it as there is a small amount of guests. The grounds are beautiful and staff very friendly. I loved the beach! It was beautiful. Only downside was mosquitoes in morning and evening. Cayo Coco is a nature preserve though so this makes sense. Bug spray helps.

Small, cozy, and relaxing

The food was great (for Cuba!). The staff were friendly. The beach was beautiful. The size of the resort was perfect if you like small and intimate. My only complain is the mosquitos are bad in this area.

Absolutely Amazing!

Where do I begin!?! My husband and I went down to this resort for a quiet romantic get-away. We booked the "Just the two of us" symbolic wedding ceremony and renewed our wedding vows while we were there. From the time we arrived until the time we left we were made to feel so special. A huge thank you to Ariadna and Susel from Public Relations at the resort! They took our vision and made it so much more! I can't express how happy we are with how everything turned out. We used a photographer arranged by the resort for our renewal and were very happy with the pictures. We will cherish them forever. The staff at this resort are amazing. I had a sunburn on our first day there and Alfredo the gardener went out of his way to cut fresh aloe for me. His kind heart and friendly daily greetings will be forever remembered. He and all of the gardeners and cleaning staff work so hard to keep this resort looking so amazing. I didn't catch the lady's name that cleaned our room, but we were in room 2116, and it was always kept so clean. I loved coming back to the room and finding the different animals she folded out of our towels. The elephant was my favourite. The entertainment crew were high energy and made sure there was something for everyone to do. Their sense of humour and spirit was refreshing from some of the other resorts that we have been to not only in Cuba but other countries as well. We are also going to miss Yasser from the lobby bar! I absolutely loved his friendly personality and delicious coffees. We always had hot water. We could always find something to eat. We tried all 3 a la cartes and enjoyed each of them. From their ambience and lovely wait staff, to the well presented food placed in front of us. Huge shout out to Eduardo at the Cuban restaurant. You sir are a funny man. You brought lots of laughs to our table when we ate there. Then the beach! Oh my goodness! If you are looking for a calm, shallow, clear ocean to wade and float in - this is your beach. The white sand and turquoise water was beautiful. We could always find a nice shady spot to sit. A little tip - if you walk past the diamond club, there is a stretch of beach with a lot of chairs and palapas. I feel that not many guests knew this and didn't venture out that way. We met so many wonderful people also visiting this resort and made lasting friendships. We are already talking about a reunion trip back to this resort. Thank you Memories Caribe. You gave us beautiful memories from a magical stay. We will recommend this resort to everyone we know looking for a wonderful vacation, and we will return

Average Resort

The resort itself was average. We had a renovated room, but because of the open space under the door, bugs and critters would regularly come in. e.g. frogs, cockroaches, geckos, spiders. We were also severely bitten by sand fleas even though we used bug spray on ourselves and on the bedding. Not pleasant! The lagoon/lake that runs throughout the property is beautiful but is a breeding ground for mosquitos and other insects. Our room and public areas were kept very clean. Toilet paper was  [... read more]always replenished (which wasn't the case on previous visits to other Cuban resorts). The food at the buffet table was not appetizing at all. We realize that Cuba is not renowned for its fine dining. Basically, the food was pretty much always the same items reheated. We mostly went to the cooking stations waiting in line to have our main course meals prepared. At least this food was fresh and more appetizing. All 3 à la carte restaurants were average. While the beach itself was long and beautiful, it was always crowded with people reserving all the lounge chairs before dawn. We were told by other guests that in order to get a lounge chair under a palapa, you needed to lay down your towel the night before, which, by the way, is against resort policy. Not fair! We paid the same price as everyone else and didn't get the opportunity to enjoy this beautiful beach which is Memories Caribe's main attraction. I was NOT getting up in the middle of the night to walk to the beach in the dark to reserve chairs! We stayed mostly by the pool, only walking the beach and playing in the ocean for a few minutes during our two week stay. We were very impressed, however, with all the staff. From housekeeping, waiters, gardeners and entertainment, all were so friendly and attentive to our needs. Although this review is not very positive, we did enjoy our vacation at Memories Caribe. They do their best with what they have!

Relaxing holiday

Very happy with our experience at Memories Caribe. Quiet relaxing resort , rooms are a bit dated but very clean. Beach is beautiful. Well maintained grounds , good enertainment , good service and food exceeded expectations.
