Roc Arenas Doradas: Great Place, Fun Times

The ROC Arenas Doradas is an older resort that is well maintained. They keep everything spotless.The beds are comfortable.we has many food choices. (ROC Plus) The people who work here are the Best you could ever meet. We made many new friends and will definitely be returning.

Grand Aston Varadero Beach Resort: Amazing resort

It was beautiful and updated. Servicecwas great. Food was great. The pool and the beach were great. We would definitely go again. We would recommend this resort to anyone. I heard while we were there you should upgrade to vip.

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: Our stay at Iberostar originn

The hotel was very nice but it does need some talc. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Our rooms were cleaned every day. The food was not very warm and not too good. But I realize Cuba has a problem with getting food and drinks. They only had Fanta and coke for non alcoholic drinks. If I was to go there again I would know now what to take for myself.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Awesome stay

I really needed a relaxing holiday and Laguna Azul went above and beyond to make it happen. Many thanks to all the staff they made me really feel like apart of the family A spacial thank you yo Dania Alonzo for everything you do and the special lady you are We will definitely be returning

Starfish Cuatro Palmas: Great resort

Great resort for overall value food was way better than expected and the beach was amazing …I do not have any big complaints other than maid service poor….they did a horrible job of cleaning rooms and found the maids slightly rude but all other staff were amazing and friendly.

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Disappointed

The grounds/landscaping are really beautiful, both main pool and Alegance pool are well maintained with lots of chairs. As regular ( 2X per year) visitors to Cuba we look forward to the beaches, the beaches at this property we're very rocky, narrow, drop to water into a line of sharp shells, dirty old lounge chairs, we spent no time at beach. We upgraded to Alegance, unfortunately Alegance restaurant was closed for renovations, so all our meals were supposed to be at Caleta restaurant where you [... read more]r "butler" had to make daily reservations; our butler was always missing, so we had to beg the staff in restaurant to book us in. Caleta had the exact same menu all week, which got rather tiresome. We did try the buffet in main resort a few times, but probably the worst food we've had in 10 years of visiting Cuba. Mike's Coffee Bar was the highlight of our day, the cappuccino were excellent .None of specialty restaurants were open/available. Some decent music was provided after dinner by lobby bar, there was a magician in the theatre one night. The rooms were cleaned daily, comfy beds, lots of water, pop, beer in fridge. Lunch in 24 hr snack bar near beach was always good, but repetitive.

Hotel Blau Las Morlas Varadero Beach: Very nice

Quaint place. Have been going there for over 10 years or so! It’s for people who like peaceful atmosphere, and are not there gorging and nonstop during! You meet like minded people and easily make friends. Staff is friendly.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: 2nd Visit was every bit as good as the 1st!!

We went with the expectation that it was off season, so there would be less staff, less food, just not quite the same vibe as in April. That couldn't have been farther from the truth. We were on the Royal side, and as usual we were pampered. Food selection at all the a la cartes were great. The Italian alone offered between 7 and 9 choices for your main course, with at least 4 appetizer options, making it our go to choice for dinner. Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: The Good, The Bad, The Ugly

THE GOOD - Hotel Staff and workers are absolutely wonderful THE BAD - Unfortunately they cannot give you what they don't have THE UGLY - Three Rooms in Two Days, (Gave Up) - Everything Else, The rooms are lacking any degree of maintenance or repair - Same Food Menu regardless which Specialty Restaurants they decide to open on any given night - King Bed, Queen or Full sheets and Blanket - Walkway Lights are missing light bulbs (Guests removed them for their Room lights) - The Absol [... read more]ute worst Food anywhere in Cuba, even the Cats walked away from it. - All 3 Golf Carts were broken down requiring replacement Batteries.... They borrowed one from the Neighboring Resort. This Resort has been SOLD to A Russian Company which explains whey everything is broken and in Short or no-existent supply

Hotel Villa Cuba: Extremely Surprised!

I have been to Cuba more times than I care to count! I love Cuba...The people, the beach, how safe it is, everything! I went this time for a Cuban friends daughters Bday and was looking for somewhere cheap to stay. Villa Cuba was the option at the time. I was by myself and thought "how bad could it be?" Dinner was hit or miss, usually I just went to town and had either a pizza or a steak & lobster for dinner. even the Snack bar was good, make the best sandwiches! I do have to mention "YAZ" he works the front desk and speaks ENGLISH!!! actually he speaks a few languages. But man! If you have an issue, or a concern he will take care of it. I watched him talk to some guests that came to the desk to complain. He listens, he feels you, and than he gets to work to fix the problem,....the whole time calming you down and making you feel special!! This guy shouldn't be at the front desk! He should be in charge of Guest relations! Any guest has a problem...CALL YAZ!!! Bottom line is, this hotel deserves more credit than it gets. Pool is stunning and well looked after, and the beach of course is beautiful! Its the same beach as all the hotels lol!! I would definitely go Back!

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: second time in resort

It is our second time in Iberostar Alameda resort. We liked it from our first stay: very nice hotel inspired by Spanish colonial design, an amazing beach, great beach BBQs, night disco dances, it is a cozy and ideal place for a couples retreat. In our second visit, four years later, we found a nice improvement such as easier approaches to the beach, renovated rooms and enlarged beach space. What can be improved is a quality and variety of food. We recommend to visit the local cave Cueva Ambrosio [... read more] which can be an alternative to the lengthy excursion in a cool no-beach and windy day as it happened to us. The hotel's stuff was very friendly. Highly recommend this hotel!

Grand Aston Varadero Beach Resort: Fun week

The room was nice, the pool and beach were nice. But like all of Cuba the humidity is hard on everything and a deep clean would do wonders. I understand that they do not have access to everything we take for granted in Canada. The price could not be beat. There was fresh eggs for breakfast, a pasta station and grill at lunch and dinner. As always the Cuban people are wonderful.

Occidental Arenas Blancas: Very nice Resort

We had a very nice time. The hotel was very clean. The beach and pool were beautiful.Staff was very friendly. Lots of food to eat. The only shortage at times was ice. I would recommend this hotel. Felt very safe at all times as well.

Hotel Blau Las Morlas Varadero Beach: Disappointed

I chose this resort because was renovated and only 128 rooms, thinking would be quiet. Far from that. Music was blasting all day and night, untill 11pm. On the beach, pool and snack bar. All rooms are facing inside courtyard, which is beautiful, so we couldn't switch rooms to escape LOUD music. Starfish Varadero: so, so

There is no any security staff or lifeguard on pools, but 3-4 securities and lifeguards are sleeping on the beach Despite "no smoking" signs - people are smoking everywhere and react very hostile on our request not to smoke. Hotel staff absolutely ignorant to enforce a non smoking policy People are smoking inside the pool and dropping cigarettes and ashes into the pool Restaurant staff absolutely do not speak or understand English and thus cannot be an efficient in providing a proper service [... read more] Room - balcony door has broken lock, sink was clogged, bathroom door could not open and close properly - stuck onto the floor Elevators has no proper signage and very confusing, because you cannot figure out a correct button

Sol Caribe Beach: Beautiful resort

We had great stay at Sol Caribe Beach. The resort is located on the most beautiful part of Varadero beach and we thoroughly enjoyed it. There were always beach hats available and the loungers are comfortable. Rooms were clean and the entire place is well maintained. The food was okay, mostly repetitive, but we.were always able to find something to satisfy our hunger. Iberostar Selection Varadero: Amazing Resort

This our third stay in resort. Everything was exceptional: great, well maintained grounds, clean rooms made every day, great selection of the food and drinks. Every day enogh drinkable water supplied in the rooms. Smooth and seamless check in and check out. Something that makes this resort really exceptional is the staff, great people in the restaurants, bars, grounds, maids. We stayed in many resorts in Cuba but never experienced such great service. It is hard to believe you can find better stretch of the beach for morning run, barefoot or in running shoes.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: I recommended it to a friend

The hotel beach was beautiful, and the staff were very friendly. One of the waitresses at the restaurant seemed to have limited English and wasn't very patient. Every activity was wonderful. Thank you to everyone! It would have been even more perfect if the menu had been changed for the 8-day stay.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Absolutely Terrible

The star rating for this hotel needs to be updated to a 1 or less. We had to put a $15 deposit on our credit card for each pool towel, and when we went to get them, there wasn’t a single towel available. No hot water to shower, no 24 hr snack bar available, water is filtered and refilled into dirty glass bottles. There were cockroaches on the pizza/bread station table.
