Mayan Princess Beach Resort: Inaccurate Rating

Overall the resort was in disrepair, the service was very poor. They did not like to give you bottled water they preferred that you refill your water bottles from a cooler, which may have not been sanitized causing all of us to be sick. The food was not very good. The front desk did not offer much help for any of our concerns. There was cockroach's in the room and several safety issues on site that would have been a concern if I had younger children. Media Luna Resort: Wonderfully relaxing girls only trip

This resort is beautiful. It's also very small, but that's one thing I loved most about it. The people that work there are wonderful. When we were there the last week of November I think there were around 70 guests total, so you really got to know the staff. They went out of their way to talk to you and get to know you. We did an island tour that I wasn't sure was worth the $80 USD I paid but we did have lunch at The Henry Morgan. I'm so glad we didn't stay there. The beach was lovely, but the locals harassing you to buy stuff was annoying. I much preferred the quiet of The Media Luna. The beach was very tiny, but very beautiful. The water was clear and warm. I didn't really spend much time there because of the bugs. I'm not sure what they were, but the bug bites were the only downside. It didn't seem to matter what kind of bug spray you used, the little bugs left terrible welts on my arms and legs. Bring lots of antihistime pills cause that's the only relief I found! In short, I would return here. It was exactly what I wanted for a relaxing trip with five other women. I wouldn't go with my kids or husband though as there really isn't that much going on to entertain them and they would probably be bored.

Fantasy Island: Snorkling excellent resort poor

Very rundown resort. Looks like it was good long ago but it needs many repairs and cleanup. On the pool deck there was the same animal feces beside a chair all week. The pool was not clean nor the grounds around it. The food was very limited and not hot. Coffee was not hot and tea rarely available even when i asked for it every meal. Inbe [... read more]tween meals no food was available. There was nothing to do if you were not snorkling or diving. No activities available during the day and very little animation at night. There were 6 kayaks but 5 had holes and would sink when out in the ocean. Our rep said she would arrange lunch for us before leaving for our return flight but it didn't happen. The resort was far from full- maybe about 30 people tops and the lunch would have to be ready 30 minutes earlier. Lunch was scheduled for 12:30 and we got picked up at 12:15. I know this was a 3 star resort but I have been to many 3 star resorts and never was disappointed. I've paid less money for 4 and 5 star dive resorts this year and in the past and been very happy. This resort didn't deserve a 3.Maybe a 2 I will say the other travellers were great and most of the staff very friendly. Judy from amination did try her best to get people involved at night when she had planned an activity and she was very sweet. Room cleaning ladies were quick and efficient, always smiling. The snorkling from the beach was excellent!! The people we met and our experiences off the resort were great and therefore I will visit Roatan again but not Fantasy Island.

Media Luna Resort: the beach is unforgettable!

Hotel is perfect, I like it much more than all previous places I had for vacations. Snorkeling was real "National geographic"! - hundreds of tropical fish! I was swimming during all my staying at this hotel.

Paradise Beach Hotel and Resorts: Not so good

-hotel grounds well taken care of, superb location, all rooms are ocean-view and beautiful after renovation -public area clean, comfortable, waiting staff always there to help you -dining unfortunate: food- more what you find in Cuba, what you eat first day is what you eat any other day of your stay ,meat overcooked, dry-boring. Media Luna Resort: Trip of a Lifetime

Cabana: we had an Ocenview cabana. It was wonderful to awaken to the sound of the sea. The room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. The bathroom facilities as well were spacious and fairly modern. Cleaning staff pleasantly surprised us each day with a different towel sculpture embellished with flowers each day. Dining Area: Very open air thanks to the lovely long windows to let th [... read more]e breezes in. Very clean with amazing wait staff. Juan Carlos was pleased to give us language lessons when asked. Ronny J served us very professionally and yet with a pleasantness and sense of humor that made us feel very special. Food was abundant with tasty. We felt there was nothing to complain about. Animation: Various activities were done nightly. Nothing over the top. But these staff were very friendly and welcoming and certainly made everyone feel welcome. Beach: Although not large, it was soft white sand with lounge chairs for everyone. There are several tiers of decks/beach, so you can get as much or little sun as you like. The Beach is groomed regularly and so are kept quite clean. There is a fair bit of rock to get into the water, but nothing too concerning. WiFi: We found the wifi in the upper room in the reception hall fairly reliable and suitable for our needs. Many folks were connected when on the lounge chairs in the reception area and the breezeway to the dining hall or on the pool decks just outside this area. Pools: We did not use these. A few days, they were noisey with kids. Surrounding gardens could have been better tended. Snorkelling and Diving: We selected this resort for its remoteness and wonderful reviews of the diving and snorkelling. We were not disappointed. Shore dives are wonderful for those who would prefer not to dive from a boat. The dive shop staff were extremely helpful and the set up was perfect in that it allowed us to keep our gear in a shed where it could hang to dry. Other divers booked packages with their resort reservations and obtained very reasonably priced packages. Off Resort Excursions: There seemed to be quite a bit to choose from. We went to Gios for dinner one night. What a great meal!! Ride to and from in the air conditioned bus was pleasant. We ordered one plate of food for the two of us as advised by JC and had more than enough lobster, crab, shrimp and sides of the two of us ($40US). Overall: This is our new favourite spot. Next time we plan to stay for 2 weeks and perhaps do a bit more off resort sleuthing. PS... there are lizards everywhere, most of which are quite small. But if this would bother you, may be a deal breaker.

Fantasy Island: It's all about the location......

Beautiful beach! Great for divers and snorkelers. We stayed two weeks in room 217. Very clean large room, King size bed, large shower, in room combination safe. Beautiful ocean view! Good food but not elaborate. The main building reminded me of a grand southern plantation. Lots of charm! I would recommend this destination to friends who love nature and aren't hung up on luxury accommodations.

Mayan Princess Beach Resort: Fantastic resort. Would love to live here.

Friendly staff. Clean resort. Mgt staff go above and beyond to meet your needs. Very safe secure site. Jen, Eddy and Gm care about their customers and ensure they are happy. ARnold, Banessa, David, Jennifer great waiters. Richard on security is the best security guy and the happiest.

Mayan Princess Beach Resort: Perfect holiday at the Mayan Princess in Roatan.

The ground and public areas are beautiful. We stayed at the poolside tower which was large and very clean. In fact, the grounds are immaculate. The pool is lovely with running water falls. The turquoise ocean is spectacular as was the snorkelling. The only negative is the buffet - repetitive and dull. The a la cartes made up for the small buffet. Overall, a very relaxing vacation. Staff are super friendly.

Henry Morgan Resort: Petty Good Value

Amazing beach! Crystal clear water. Now I know why it is such a diving magnet. Excellent location. Hotel is basic but not too bad. Food was just OK. Rooms are rustic but clean and OK as well. Beds are good.

Henry Morgan Resort: Love Roatan West Bay

This was my 3rd time at Henry Morgan, I love where the hotel is situated but few things I don't especially like Meal hours are too short especially dinner from 6:30-8:30 if you show up at 8:15, there isn't much food left. Wifi should be free everywhere around the hotel and beach, FREE and not just in lobby.. Turquoise Bay Dive and Beach Resort: Excellent!

What a beautiful resort! If you're looking for diving or just R & R, this is the place. Resort very clean, beautiful beach and grounds, exceptional staff, and great food and drink choices. I would not hesitate to return (but would arm myself with a better bug repellent to ward off the sand fleas!)

Henry Morgan Resort: 3 stars resort

I have been there 3 times but most probably the last time. They have made changes to the beach area which does not make sense. You need to pass a now paying restaurant to get to the newly made but totally outdated bathrooms which has no lights and no mirror plywood floors with holes in it. Not to secure. Beach restaurant has no more grilled food and the bar is very restricted in what they serve. You need to go to the dark reception bar to get a decent drink. Absolutely no lights there either. Since I have been there a total of 5 weeks within 11 months the manager Gael told us we could have free wifi for 2 weeks (which is free everywhere else on the island.) It happened that he cut it off after 5 days. After talking again to this rude man we did not get it back. All other employees are extremely friendly. The rooms are nice and very clean. The location is one of the best in West Bay with an amazing beach. The dive shop is top of the line with friendly staff. We go there for diving. The dive master Lindey and other diving staff took care of us like VIP. I enjoyed my stay there vacation is a journey and I accommodate fast but they made changes for the worst. They really need to update their resort to meet the 2015 services we get from other resort. The owner is too concerned with his other "money pit" hotel Media Luna in the middle of nowhere to concentrate on Henry Morgan. He should make wiser decisions because it is a great place. These comments should not be taken as negative but as constructive. If things changes in the future I might consider going back there. I would recommend this hotel for divers but advise them first at what to expect.

Fantasy Island: I almost want to keep this place a secret!

This was our second trip to Fantasy Island and we are already looking forward to trip #3. If you are looking for a 5 star luxury resort with night life and partying then this place is not for you. But if you want to relax and enjoy the peaceful, beautiful beaches and natural surroundings then you will love it here. It is a small resort with approx 100 rooms, all with ocean view. Media Luna Resort: Beautiful Resort

Resort is in a very pretty setting with lots of tropical trees and flowering bushes. Public areas are very clean and welcoming. Individual cabins are well appointed and very private with large decks and furniture to relax in. Dining room quite breathtaking with a large theater style. Staff are very helpful and pleasant. Nice cove with good snorkeling and a good dive operation on site.

Infinity Bay Spa and Beach Resort: 2 weeks is not enough

We love the resort everywhere we turn. The room is so spacious and very clean. The staff in the restaurant are like friends and we love everyone there. Niki, Marlon, Darlon, Harris, Francisco, the chefs Walman, the bartenders... Most of all we love the GM, Rick. He is one of a kind special. We have been to many 5-star resorts and we thought we like quiet and privacy. Turned out, we also love the friendliness of the guests and befriended so many of them. We have been to Infinity Bay 3 times now and we have seen better sea life than when we scuba. Although the Scuba Team is excellent here as well. There is so much to do and the beach is so lively. We will definitely keep coming back.

Mayan Princess Beach Resort: 7th year

This is my 7th consecutive visit to Roatan and the 6th stay at Mayan Princess. I return to the island each year because of the beautiful beach and the warm people. Cons: all inclusive buffet and the rooms are pretty outdated. Pros: The people, West Bay Beach, the a-la-cartes are great and the staff are amazing, especially Dalecia who does an amazing job each and evey day cleaning our room. I will return next year!

Infinity Bay Spa and Beach Resort: The best snorkelling and diving!

The location of this resort was absolutely perfect for snorkelling and diving. There was a great stretch of white, sandy beach to walk along and just a quick swim to miles of spectacular coral reefs. The resort itself was basic with limited amenities and only one restaurant available with average quality food. I didn't like paying extra for outdoor eatery. The staff was great, though. Overall a good experience.

Infinity Bay Spa and Beach Resort: Great Room, Great Beach

Just spent the last week at this resort. It's smaller than other resorts we've been to in Mexico and Cuba - less choice in the buffet and no night time entertainment - and that's a great selling point! This is a more quiet location with plenty to do either at the pool (nice sized) or beach (plenty to do during the day) or nearby (highly recommend Gumbalimba park + zip line). If you're looking for a more activity oriented crowd (especially divers) this is the place!
