I was pleasantly surprised with how clean it was, all hallways, all bathrooms, the resort was cleaned and stocked at all times ! (Been to resorts in the past which bathrooms were trashed and not cleaned often enough or toilet paper ran out) never here at Riu Latino ! The staff had excellent customer service, and worked quick. Bar service was quick and I always felt acknowledged (again, was not always the case at other resorts I would sometimes be flat out ignored) at Riu Latino always served eve[... read more]rywhere you go. People wrote poor reviews about there not being a bar/ bathroom building on the Beach- though I do agree I wish there was a bathroom building on the beach as the walk to get back to the bathroom feels like a 3 minute walk, the lack of bar doesn’t matter really because there is constantly 1-2 servers going around the beach with a large tray of like 30 different drinks (margaritas, mojitos, bahama mama, pina colada, beer) and they come around like every 10 minutes offering variety of drinks. I would suggest better entertainment however in the Theater it was everyday just music/ dancing. Would be nice to see actual theater shows such as plays/ musicals- actual shows rather than just dancing every night. Food was good I always found lots of options to fill my plate with at the breakfast/lunch/dinner buffets The resort is small and once you make a loop of it it’s easy to remember where everything is and finding your way around is easy ! but it has everything you need (5 swimming pools, 24/hour sports bar, spa, theater, store, 5 restaurants etc) overall a great experience !

Riu Latino: Amazing Resort
The resort was everything we wanted and more. From the amazing service, great food options, rooms that were clean, spacious and comfortable. It is a smaller resort with everything conveniently located.
I would definitely recommend.

Riu Palace Peninsula: Perfect Vacation
The hotel staff were very welcoming. They were always available to make sure we were getting the most out of our trip. This resort has a great selection of restaurants, along with a fantastic buffet area. We came with a large group and there was plenty of room at the beach or around the pool. This trip had a great balance of rest and relaxation along with some fun parties. Whatever you are looking for I think you will find at this resort.

Hyatt Vivid Grand Island: Beautiful & Perfect Couples Spot!
My husband & I had our honeymoon at this resort and I have zero complaints! The resort and beach club itself were absolutely beautiful and the service from staff was amazing! We did try all the different restaurants (other than buffet - we are not buffet people) and all the food we had was 5 stars! We spent almost the whole week at the beach, and don’t let the idea of the beach shuttle scare you because we never waited more than maybe 3 minutes total! And it was less than 5 minutes drive! Atelier Playa Mujeres: Beautiful in many ways
The resort was beautiful, new, well kept, beautiful beach.
Staff was no.1 all around.
Drinks at the bars were beyond.
Drinks at the beach did not uphold same quality.
The rooms were beautiful with no.1 housekeeping. Cleaned twice daily with new sheets. Great products.
Transportation there and back was uneventful.
Great transfers.
We had high expectations for the food but overall was good but not great as we were led to believe.
A couple we met who had just left another local 5 star resor[... read more]t confirmed our opinion. They said the cocktails were better at Atelier but the food was not as good.
Friendly tourists too.
Loved the lobby bar entertainment

Breathless Cancun Soul: Great Resort
This is the second time we have been here, so we obviously thought enough to come back. This was largely because of service from Daniel in the buffet and service from the entire pool club from XHale...simply outstanding. They recognized us from last year and those are the things that make you feel you are coming home!
All good, but, hopefully, one suggestion, for xHale members, why not leave beepers in the lounge so they can put us on the dinner wait list and give us a beeper. Then we don[... read more]'t run up and down It seems easy...hopefully it is!
I know it was a different guest list this year with people switching from Jamaica. We had girls fighting beside us and they took it into the hall...it was a disaster. The next night it was a huge party in the room. You can't vet your guest list but security needs to take it seriously and be there faster.

Breathless Cancun Soul: Breathless cancun
This was our second visit to this resort
The main difference was there was a very different clientele, mostly guests original headed to Jamaica.
We were in the Exhale wing and for three nights we had fighting foul mouth females
We don't feel that the front desk personal should be asked to rectify this very volatile situation
This happened from 2am each morning. Very annoying to say the least

Secrets Playa Blanca Costa Mujeres: We needed this vacation
Great vacation at Secrets Playa Blanca. It’s a veritable jungle with all of the palm trees and foliage giving the resort a true sense of privacy and remoteness. The Seaside and Oceana restaurants and wonderful. Coco Cafe delivers for the win with phenomenal service of hot and cold beverages and pastries, sandwiches, small nibbles and ice cream - lovely ambiance. Large beach with ample walking opportunities to the south and north.

Haven Riviera Cancun: Great Resort
The grounds were amazing, our maid went out of her way to insure all of our needs were met each and every day. The food I would say was better than other all inclusive that we have been too before. Our butler Adrian was nice but needs more coaching and needs to be informed about all details especially about aircanada transportation because he didn’t know anything. He tried but he didn’t know how we were going to get back to the airport but my husband went to the Conceige desk and the information[... read more] was there. The only negative thing we noticed after we got home was that all our belongings smelled very damp and musty. The room was very damp maybe because we had a swim out room. This would not stop us from going back here again. Wonderful facility.

Riu Palace Kukulkan: Love this smaller Riu
We enjoyed our time the the Riu Kukulkan…the grounds are easy to get around, restaurants all good LOS…. We booked an elite room and easy to make all our reservations with the app! Be aware they have 8 floors of Elite.. Our Elite room was a bit of a disappointment as the bathroom is poorly designed…. Separate toilet, shower a sinks are “open Concept”. With a very large bathtub in the middle of the room…. Also governer on the TV for volume. Doesn’t go up or down.. all rooms at front face ente[... read more]rtainment stage, so it can be very noisy for awhile if you are in your room! The elite lounge was a let down, small and far away from main lobby, club chairs that take a lot of space…. We loved the Elite pool with Beds available for no charge!

GR Solaris: Great resort
The hotel and grounds were very clean and well looked after. We didn't try the restaurants, the buffet was good. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The beach was beautiful, but the water could get very rough, but the life guards were right there making sure everyone stayed safe. The lady at the omelette station was amazing.

Melia Casa Maya: Children only resort
This hotel caters to families with small children ONLY. Although we knew it was not an "adults only" resort, we chose the "Level" option thinking it would give us some exclusive lounging and dining opportunities. WRONG!! Everyone took the option, including families of 5(majority). The property description implied a separate area on the beach for "Level" guests. Not so...there were a few labelled palapas interspersed within the rest of them. The "level" dining room was packed for breakfast and lu[... read more]nch everyday. You get a concierge assigned to you who arranges a reserved palapa for you..but again...not in a separate area.
The hotel is very small with no auditorium or theater...so the children spend the evening hours running around screaming in the main lobby....cant have a nice peaceful after dinner drink.
The buffet is an absolute nightmare..smallest I have ever seen. Very limited food selection. And, hold on to your plate...the kids are running around unleashed!!
Also, don't expect a good steak in any of the a la cartes. They are tasteless..not char broiled, seem like they are boiled. Difficult to tell what kind of meat it was.
One very disturbing issue is the lack of security on the beach. On weekends, the locals tend to head to the public beach which is directly adjacent to the hotel. This would be OK if hotel security was around to keep an eye on our stuff while in the water. Instead, locals walked freely amongst the hotel palapas and chairs. One hotel rep stood chatting with these folks for hours. I realize MOST of the locals are good people just enjoying the beach....but it would only take one bad apple to lead to disaster...especially with all the kids around.
Overall, not a good experience...not a good choice unless you are traveling with infants and toddlers....teens would be bored.
Finally, the room accommodation was a joke. One small 4 drawer dresser and small hanging bar. I dont know how all these families managed with little storage. No chair or couch to sit on. Housekeeping had a very hard time providing the same number of towels daily...something missing everyday.
Wish I could get my money back.

Royalton CHIC Cancun: Do not be fooled by the name, this is not close to a 5 Star teaort
Where do you start, after traveling all day and then waiting at the airport for over 1 hr for Nexus to take us to our hotel, once we finally got there, we checked in and was told that the 2nd part of the check in was to meet a rep with a pink Royalton shirt on, it ended up being a Salerep from Royalton trying to up-sale us, finally I said, we are tired and just want to go to our room.
Once in our room, we were surprised how worn it was, we had the Sunset view which is a parking lot and a torn [... read more]building to look at. I leaned on the balcony rail to only find out that it was not safe. When I checked to see why, I noticed it was not screwed in at all to the wall .
Elevators are very slow, so leave plenty of time to get somewhere .
Ok, I went to use the internet only to find out that they spelled my name wrong so I could not get into the Wi-Fi unless I used the wrong spelling, after numerous visit to the check in, they told me I would have to see their IT dept, long story short, after 4 days of our holidays, they finally change it.
Now, there is really only one main pool and by 10am the 20 and 30 year olds are at the swim up bar, and not leaving for most of the day, so we found the water was spelling by mid afternoon.
We did go on the top floor for a look, but just witness more partying and 70’s disco music blaring.
Ok, on the plus side, the Beach is amazing, the staff works hard, but they seem to be short staffed , the food was reasonable, but not great for a 5 Star rating.
You have to download the app in order to reserve you dinner and I suggest first thing in the morning to make your reservation , also, you cannot book more then 2 reservations, also the menu is a QR Code that you have to put on your phone, so if you are not good with modern technology, you might get frustrated.
Room service is not everyday and they do not automatically put refreshments in your fridge or leave you coffee, you have to phone down for them to bring it up separately .
Conclusion, if you are younger and looking for a all day party 7 days in a row with good weather and an amazing beach, The Royalton Chic Cancún will meed your needs,
But if you are looking for a slower pace and maybe over 50, this might not be what you are looking for.
We would rate this Hotel a 3.5 and that’s also after talking to other couples who where in the Diamond club and those that where not, no one give the hotel a 5 Star and we all agreed on 3.5.

Where do I start, the staff were amazing, Pat who drove the golf cart to pick us and made sure we got back to our rooms on the nights or days he worked. After being closed for an extended period of time for renovations management has done a very poor job of improving the most important aspects of travel ambience and food . putting a goofy tarp overhead on half the pool killed previous enjoyable surroundings, food quality is marginal too much of same dishes at all meals , stick to fish and chicken . Chefs don’t know how to cook beef even expensive cuts in reservation restaurants. After coming here 7 times will NOT return again

Iberostar Selection Coral Cancun: Cancun Getaway
My Wife and I recently had the pleasure of staying at Iberostar for a much-needed vacation. Our goal was to recharge, relax, and reconnect, and we accomplished just that. This hotel truly has everything a family or couple could want. It's clean, well laid out, and the beach is absolutely beautiful. The white sand, stunning ocean, and comfortable lounge chairs made it a perfect spot for lounging. There are vendors that stroll up and down the beach, but they do not harass you. The beach also felt [... read more]very secure with a consistent police presence.
From the moment we arrived until the time we departed, the staff were exceptional. Everyone was warm and welcoming, and it was clear that they are happy to be working for Iberostar. They genuinely want to make sure their guests are well taken care of. One standout was Darling, a chef at La Barca, who went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. A small example of her top-tier service: I prefer Greek plain yogurt, and when Darling noticed that the buffet didn't have any, she made sure it arrived at my table. The next day, Greek plain yogurt was available at the station. This level of service truly impressed me.
The adult pool servers were just as attentive, always ready to move umbrellas for shade, serve drinks promptly, and greet us with warm smiles. There were several restaurants to choose from, though we found the Italian restaurant to be less impressive and only dined there once. Our favorite was the Mediterranean restaurant, where both the service and the food were outstanding. One area for improvement at the resort would be upgrading the wine selection included in the package. For the price of the stay, the quality of the wines should be better, and guests should not have to purchase bottles separately.
The evening entertainment was ok, with events every night that provided a nice activity after dinner. During the day, we participated in pickleball, yoga, and visited the gym. A special shout out to Gabriel, who led our pickleball sessions. Gabriel truly cares about his guests and goes above and beyond to ensure a positive and memorable experience. He even took the time to teach me how to play pickleball.
Our room was clean and serviced twice a day, with notifications from the app when it was ready. The housekeeping team was attentive and did a great job, though the rooms themselves were just okay. The hallways had carpet that appeared dirty and could use some attention.
Lastly, the concierge team was fantastic. Alessandro, our contact, was very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Looks good.
Also, tipping isn’t necessary but very much appreciated. They don’t make much and a dollar or two is welcomed for sure.
I would usually tip the housekeeper (40 to 50 pesos a day) about $2.50 US.
Waiters/Waitresses about the same.
Overall, the resort is definitely worth visiting. The exceptional staff, beautiful beach, and various activities made our stay memorable and rejuvenating.
