Allegro Cozumel: Second time just as good

Second time at allegro in 3 years. Not much has changed. Staff works really hard. Meals were ok. Dinner buffet needs work but breakfast and lunch we're good. The shows at night were awesome. Very entertaining

Allegro Cozumel: Great time at the Allegro Cozumel!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Allegro in Cozumel. The food was excellent at the buffet with lots of variety for breakfast and supper. The a la carte restaurants were amazing, especially the Mexican and Asian options. The beach was nice - white sand and blue water. We were able to do a bit of snorkeling right in front of the resort. The entertainment staff did a great job organizing various games and activities that we had fun participating in. We really enjoyed the night time shows, particularly the circus show and the break dancing. The karaoke night was also a lot of fun. Our room was nice and very clean. The only setback of the room was that because of the grass roofs, there is not very much noise separation and we could easily hear what was happening outside our room. Overall, we had a wonderful time at this resort and would definitely go back again and recommend to others.

Sunscape Sabor Cozumel: First time in the sun!

Staff were AMAZING. The grounds were NICE. The rooms were OK. Only OK because the dresser is very old and we had to ask for it to be fixed cause one of the drawers wouldn't open. Geared to families with children. There were fun activities but a heads up there is NO adult swim bar. Most excursions are close BUT cab fare is not reasonable. Occidental Cozumel: Good value

We did a one week stay with 8 adults. Resort is good value for the cost. Rooms are spacious, well appointed. Food is average. Booking the a la carte restaurants was far more complicated and frustrating than it should have been. It should not take almost one hour of wheeling and dealing to book a sitting for what we were minimally entitled to and paid for. Pool was adequate. No swim up bar for the adults. If you are looking for peace and quiet, beware. Rooms are not soundproof and main villa vestibule area echo all sound. If one is looking for some sun and on a budget consider this facility.

Sunscape Sabor Cozumel: Some challenges

Beautiful hotel. Aged, but charming. The water treatment was really quite smelly but that is life, can't be helped. Our rooms were late to move into, that was disappointing but then again, it happens. Very disappointed to not get the rooms that we requested which were the partition walls in each room. We travelled as a family of twelve, so were thrilled that the kids with children got large rooms with the tubs on the balcony. The children got kids tv channels, we requested to have our tv fixed but it didn't happen. First room we had the air conditioner was extremely loud, I couldn't sleep. We were able to move the next day but still not the room we requested. They said at the desk that we requested a room with two double beds, no way is that true. Our travel agent said that we would get the same rooms, with the partitioned doors, so why the miscommunication? upsetting, but this did not ruin our vacation. Food was good. We had a lovely family time together.

Occidental Cozumel: Great resort

The resort was very clean. Rooms very nice. Food quite good. Only negative was that check in took quite a long time. Also the reservations for the a la carte restaurants was very frustrating. We were told the only time left was thursday at 9pm. Upon further review we eventually got a reservation in all 3 restaurants and every time there were a lot of empty tables. Overall this is a very nice resort.

El Cozumeleno Beach: Great value for money

My boyfriend and I just came back from our week away and it was great value for our money. We were on the south side garden view room which is in the renovated section and I had no complaints but wasn't anything extravagant.It was on the first floor but we still had a clear view of the ocean. Some people we talked to did not know/ read the card and were upset that they were not getting their sheets and towels changed. We ate at the a la carte every night and it was great and had no complaints and would highly recommend. You do have to get up around 7:30 for a reservation but we wanted to make sure we got up early anyways (you can nap on the beach later!). The breakfast in the restaurant was amazing as well and lunch at the buffet was good but you can also ask for the menu and they were more than happy to do that too. Drink of the days were great. Pools were cold. Snorkeling was amazing and water was crystal clear. Staff was extremely friendly and made us feel very welcomed. There is not too much night life so if you're coming to party this is not the place. The down town by the cruise port is beautiful and just 200 pesos (round trip). I did not feel unsafe at all throughout my time downtown. We had a great time, played mini putting, tennis, ping pong and life size chess (lots of things to entertain yourself). We really enjoyed our time here. This is not a boujie hotel but it is great for what you pay for! It was an awesome vacation.

Occidental Cozumel: Good value for money.

Pros: - Great beach - Big rooms - Buffet is above average for this type of hotel Cons: - The hotel walls are very thin. When our neighbour coughed, it woke us up - Service isn't great. Attitude from the poorly trained staff and you will have problems booking your la carte reservations, checking in and out and getting towels - Stay away from the seafood restaurant!! Very old seafood. - The nightly entertainment isn't any bargin (Karaoke night means the staff puts on 3 songs and shuts i [... read more]t off) - The after hours pizzeria is never open so make sure to fill up at dinner. Overall, we had a nice stay once we figured out what to stay away from. It is good value for $1100-$1200 but I wouldn't pay anymore. The beach is fantastic. We ended up eating in Cozumel (off resort) three nights and would recommend you do the same if you want a nice dinner. The service is awful both at front desk and at the buffets. We had to get our own utensils and beverages almost every night even though you are supposed to get these from the wait staff. Not a huge deal but was frustrating.

Occidental Cozumel: So relaxing!! Completely rejuvenated!!

What a beautiful resort. Instead of clearing jungle, they built around it. The resort was completely full and the only night you would have guessed was on New Years! The beach is beautiful and there is a lot of it! There is an adult pool which is a nice option. The other pool is down on the beach which provides a beautiful view!! No swim-up bar but that was the only thing I would add. Rooms are big and beautiful!! You never walk to far to get anywhere. Allegro Cozumel: Disappointed with customer service

This was our 5th time to the resort as a group of 8 and we were disappointed with the customer service, i.e. room request, dinner reservations not available. We have always been extremely pleased with the Allegro (the proof 5th time!), however the reception and guest relations employees were rude and not helpful at all. We have never complained in the past but this will definitely be our last visit.

El Cozumeleno Beach: Relax and enjoy the beach

Quiet ,quaint resort with lovely a beach and snorkeling is right there. Only one al la cart restaurant for dinner but line up early it’s worth it. Be sure to order lunch off the menu right on the beach.

Occidental Cozumel: great resort

This was our second time staying at the Occidental and it did not disappoint. Our flights to Cozumel were delayed 3 hours, but the staff stayed around until 2am to get us checked in to our rooms and settled. Beach was clean and maintained and so where the grounds. Everyone was friendly and said good morning. The one disappointment was the service at the Alcart Restaurants. The food was not much better than at the Buffets and the service was terribly slow. El Cozumeleno Beach: Worst Management

Hotel management is the worst management I’ve ever seen or had to deal with. A couple left their 9 year old daughter (who had some medical problems) to watch 6 year old son (brother) on the resort, to go on excursion Christmas Day (2019). Excursion was from 10am to 6pm (or close to). I wasn’t forced but felt obligated to watch these children. Hotel did nothing about the situation but ‘talk’ to the parents because it was the second time in a week it has happened. I said what happens if those children get washed out to sea, manager said ‘not my problem, it’s the parents problem!’. I said ‘It’s not my job to watch other people’s children!’ Manager replied with ‘Well thank you for doing that, they are fine right, what more do you want me to do?’ I threatened to call the police. She said no I had to go downtown to do it. Then tried to tell me that their kids club open from 10-5. I said your not allowed to leave the resort. She said kids club is open from 10-5. The management is absolutely useless from there. The staff is good but the front desk don’t care about anything other then your money. Nothing is their problem. They would rather watch two young children get swept out to sea then contact the right authorities. I refuse to EVER go back to this resort. I have contacted CAS here and will be finding out the dads name and filing for neglect of those children!! From a mother to a mother, trust me when I say, this is not a good resort for your children. The amount of cocaine going the through there and the constant smell of weed will ruin your week! The rooms are musty smelling and the beds are super uncomfortable and the sheets have a funny smell. Every time I tried to shower was no hot water! Then check out is at 12. And we weren’t leaving til 9pm because our plane was delayed almost 2 hours. They refused to give me a room for my not even two year old daughter to sleep or nap or give her a break from the heat, before our long ride back to Toronto. They had empty rooms! Just don’t care because it’s not their problem!

El Cozumeleno Beach: Amazing resort

We had a wonderful stay at the hotel. The food was delicious and lots of choices. The service was great. The hotel is clean. I will recommend this resort to everyone. The pool is clean and well maintained. The reception staff were very courteous and friendly. The only dissatisfaction was not enough entertainment and music by the pool side.

Allegro Cozumel: Perfect Resort For Nature Lovers

Such a great resort, this was our 5th time going here. It has everything you need if your a single couple looking to have fun and even more stuff to do with the family, great activities for the kids and the water park is so much fun. The grounds are amazingly landscaped, friendly staff, beautiful beach and lots of activities.

Zel Cozumel: Excellent value resort

Beautiful site, ocean views wonderful. Room in Tower was roomy with newer walk- in shower. Staff very hard working and very concerned with providing excellent service. Food in the buffet was very good, varied and there was something for everyone. A la Carte restaurants served well presented options. Facilities kept clean and attractive. Beautiful soft sandy beach. A small resort and easy to get around. Very quiet and relaxing. Would return for another vacation.

Occidental Cozumel: Beautiful, No Crowds and Totally Relaxing

Our experience at the Occidental Cozumel, Nov 29th - December 6th was exacting what we were looking for. the staff were constantly friendly and helpful. The room was clean, large and very comfortable. Our dining experiences were all positive whether at the buffet or restaurants...the seafood being our favorite. Easy access to diving and smaller size of the resort was perfect. We'll definitely be back.

Occidental Cozumel: Fantastic holiday!!!

Occidental Cozumel did not disappoint!! From the beautiful grounds to the amazing staff this resort was definitely worth the extra few bucks we paid. Cozumel is a favourite destination of ours and once again the island has set itself apart for an amazing downtown core and beautiful places to eat and visit like Coconuts. Santos at the adult pool won our vote for best customer service throughout the week. We will definitely be back!!!

This is our third time at the hotel. The first time I was not too impressed. It is a 3 star hotel. During our second visit, things were improving. But this time, not as good. Our room needs a lot of work. Everything is old and run down. Very simple. We were travelling with a f group and both of them had leaks in their rooms. It rained a lot while we were there and water came in and soaked beds, floors. Restaurants were fine, nothing fancy. Not much entertainment at night. Staff is ok, but not extraordinary! Don't think we will ever go back.
