Sunscape Dorado Pacifico: Great holiday

Arrived late afternoon and had a quick check in . Front desk organized and knowledgable. Room was as we hoped from pictures and previous reviewers--clean and reasonably up to date. Had an amazing partial ocean view which to us was just as good as oceanfront. Only issue was it was too sunny and hot on the balcony to sit out and enjoy. Food was ok. Usually buffets in previous all inclusive we've stayed in had a pasta and salad bar. Very poor salad bar and non existent pasta except for Italian ni [... read more]ght. A la carts were our favourite. Wine was very good which is a big plus as this is all I drink. Beach was beautiful and fairly long which we enjoyed. Parasailing was done by many as at least 2 out at a time . Massage huts on beach plentiful but can be bothersome as ran out to solicit business when they see you. I tried hut 21 for 200pesos 1 hour massage and highly recommend. The sun and warm temps is what we really came for and were not disappointed. Many nationals , not only in our hotel but others as well which didn't bother us as are respectful and pleasant. I hope we were not bothersome to them. We probably would not return to this hotel as we rarely revisit the same hotel, but many people we talked to return each year and sometimes twice. Absolutely no complaints about staff--work very hard to keep you happy.

Barcelo Ixtapa: Resort was nice. Service was great. Beach was amazing!

I thought that the hotel was nice. However, the rooms were only okay (bathrooms were tiny) and the one that were were in was very loud when a show was on. There was no resting while the party show was on. It felt like there was an upgrade charge for everything wifi, ocean view, etc. I would only stay again in the ocean view room. Barcelo Ixtapa: Awesome Family resort

This trip was a last minute brain child of my brother and sister. And one that we will always remember. With nineteen family members in total on this trip, there was something for everyone. Para sailing right on the resort beach, swimming with dolphins, snorkelling,shopping,aqua fitness, and of course lots of pool time and wave jumping on the beach. Friendly staff that surprised my mother and father with towel animals daily. Considerate front desk staff always willing to help with a spare key or [... read more] any reasonable request. The only thing I wished was that they had a day lounge that had air conditioning, so we could have gathered as a group during the hottest part of the day. Instead we retired to our rooms and played cards and talked. All in all a fun vacation. Thank you for the Memories.

Posada Real Ixtapa: Family friendly place.

The Posada Real was awesome. Its a great place to vacation. Its a small family feeling place. All the staff remember you easily and go out of their way to make your stay a great one. It gets real busy on weekends with locals so I would advise tourists to head out and do excursions and sightseeing on the weekend.

Krystal Ixtapa: Nice relaxing time.

After reading reviews, i was concerned on what i was going to experience once there. This hotel is not a 5 star. Yet I felt well taken care of and the place felt clean. The coffee and vanilla ice cream was superb. I went all inclusive and I am glad that I did as I didn't have to worry about anything. I did get tired of the buffet, so I would either order off of there menu. which does not cost extra or eat off site. There are a lot of restaurants that are close by. With all inclusive I got all th [... read more]e bottled water I wanted for free, which was nice. They took very good care of me and the other two girls I went with. I do recommend this hotel and I would go back. Also for best service, I would recommend putting a tip on the table before ordering. That way they will treat you well. Otherwise they will think if your all inclusive that you won't tip and the service will be poor.

Fontan Ixtapa: Amazing Time

Me and my husband had a great time. Everything was really good and we enjoyed our stay in Fontan. Service was great , people very friendly, food good, location...... the only thing that need improvement is pool area. It was overcrowded (maybe one of those pools could be adults only since there is kids pool). But all together it was great time for us and we will be happy to go back again.

Azul Ixtapa Grand Resort: Amazing resort, clean, clean!

The Grand Azul was wonderful new and clean, we loved the room service snd the salt water pools were awesome! Only the buffet lacked, a nice turkey of roast of porky or beef would be wonderful for the buffet for dinner!

Barcelo Ixtapa: We loved the Barcelo!

Beautiful grounds, great food, comfortable beds, amazing people and beach - everything we could've wanted to make our week relaxing and fun! It was in the prefect location for long walks on the beach, a golf course across the street, an oxox right out the gate and a shopping plaza within a five minute walk with great food, cool tattoo shop, and yummy ice cream parlour.

Fontan Ixtapa: Amazing resort.

We loved this resort. Having never been to Ixtapa, we heard it was a beautiful spot to vacation. Yes their were a lot of Mexicans at the resort, we had no trouble at all, the parents were great, no children running around, parents looked after them. They deserve to have a vacation as well. The food was great, never did we find food a problem. Drinks were plentiful.The rooms were cleans every day. The staff went out of there way to help you with any thing that came up. The beach was one of the be [... read more]st in Mexico. I do not have a bad thing to say about this resort, it does need some freshen up , but what resort doesn't. There were 4 in our group, and we are planning to go back next year. I'v read many reviews on this resort, we never had a problem. To all those who like to complain, stay home. Do you have some one to make your bed or some one to cook for you, I know I don't. It's a beautiful hotel to stay at. You can go further down the road to any other resort, but your going to pay a lot more money.

Azul Ixtapa Grand Resort: Truly Amazing Resort

SERVICE, fantastic. Unlike the Dominican, staff do not expect tips and when they receive them, they are very appreciative. HOTEL AMENITIES, fantastic. CLEANLINESS, perfect. Three Pools make up for lack of beach but public beach in walking distance that was also perfect. FOOD, a la carte out of this world, buffet was good. ENTERTAINMENT, original and always changing.

Azul Ixtapa Grand Resort: Absolutel fantastic

This was one of the best hotels and resorts I have ever stayed at. Would highly recommend to anyone, and already have. Other vacationer who were at same resort were already looking at booking towards end of the year. I may as well!

Sunscape Dorado Pacifico: Great resort.

The resort is beautiful. The food is totally acceptable at the buffet. The afternoon restaurant by the pool not bad. The evening restaurants not so much. Pool was great. There were six of us together so we did have to get up about six to get six chairs together. The surrounding area was very safe. Ate at Frank's. Great atmosphere. Food not so much considering you are paying Canadian Pub prices. Was told on our last day there that there is a resort down the beach that has crocodiles or alligators [... read more] that they feed everyday at 3:00 and you can go watch. Didn't get to go watch but you should ask so you don't miss it if it is true. Everything is very close. Staff is great even though we did not see very much tipping going on. Shout out to - front desk staff including Odibel and Alima; Entertainment - Jesus, Alex and Imer; Bell Boy - Felipe; UVC - Cesar and Mario. Stayed in room 1402. Awesome room with a great view thanks to another great staff member Raul Vazquez. Repeat customers are very common at this resort. Con and probably a deal breaker for me - to ruff to go in the ocean. Black flagged everyday but one and it was red. After talking to people that go there a lot this is very common. I love my ocean time.

Hotel Emporio Ixtapa: Mixed feelings

Overall, we did enjoy our stay. The hotel is dated but the staff are very nice. We were there 10 years ago and some things have changed and not for the better. i.e. there used to be ice machines on every second floor but now these were removed and the only way you can get ice is at the pool bar and that is not always open and is a trek down ...you can get it from the room service but usually have to wait for an hour. frustrating. the food in the hotel is good. the beach is ok. very well located. [... read more] no more than a 3 star. hard to get a chair around the pool as people put their towels down the night before....

Azul Ixtapa Resort: A GOOD RESORT FOR ALL

FRIENDLY PEOPLE, CLEAN RESORT AND GOOD AND TASTY FOOD. I ENJOYED EVERY MOMENT AT AZUL IXTAPA. MY ONE WEEK WENT BY SO FAST AND I WILL DEFINITELY REVISIT. I WILL RECOMMEND ANYONE TO VISIT THIS RESORT. YOU WILL NOT HAVE ANY REGRETS.

Posada Real Ixtapa: Great value - exceptional employees!

We went on a 7-day all inclusive vacation, staying at the Posada Real. The location could not be better; you can walk the strip of hotels all throughout Ixtapa, the bus goes right by and will drop you off anywhere you want in Ixtapa or Zihuatanejo for less than a dollar. Check-in was super fast, as was check out. No extra or hidden charges anywhere, and the front desk staff was always ready whenever I needed something (change, a fresh beach towel, a question about where to find a certain food i [... read more]n Ixtapa/Zihua). The room was clean, there was a light that needing replacing in the bathroom, and it was fixed less than 1 hour after I mentioned it. The airconditioning was powerful, and the TV had a couple USA channels so I could watch some shows in English. Every morning, the room was clean, towels replaced, and fresh water bottles and coffee at the ready. The pool is the highlight; absolutely perfect. No hotel on the strip will get you closer to the ocean. Being a smaller resort, there are chairs and loungers enough for everyone, and the service at the swimup bar and the beach bars are top notch. The pool is an infinite pool and has a fountain shooting upwards in it! The buffet is what you would expect from buffet food. It in not that fancy, but I never went to bed hungry. There is also a menu you can order off of if you do not like what is being served that night. The breakfast was the best meal of the day; fresh pancakes, omelets or quesadillas made to order. The staff work really hard to get to know you, so by the time we approached the hostess, the waiter would have our favorite table ready with hot coffee already pouring. Super attentive wait-staff. The beach is stunning and breathtaking. I could play in the surf for hours. There is no poolside entertainment or nightly "showtime" like I've experienced in other Mexican resorts, but I didn't mind that. Some evenings the restaurant would serve us outside for a BBQ. Also, all the water here is purified, so you can drink from the tap without getting sick - that's a HUGE plus for me. I would definitely return. Great vacation spot on a budget. Some people complain about locals visiting this hotel but I say 2 things about that: 1) it is authentic enough and luxurious enough that locals want to visit and I get behind that 100% and 2) the resort welcomes nationals and their families, and I wouldn't want to stay at a resort that priced nationals out or didn't welcome them. I'm in Mexico to see Mexico and enjoy Mexico and its people. We found the nationals to be friendly and well-mannered. The whole resort (lobby, rooms, pool, beach, stairwells, hallways) is IMMACULATE. The staff keep it super clean and tidy.

Fontan Ixtapa: Not worth going hotel-resort

Hotel is very old and smells moldy in every room you'll go no matter of the floor. Bathrooms need major renovation. No shower, only very very old probably original bathtub since the hotel was built in 1967yr. Pools are very crowded with local Mexicans that come for weekends. Enough food was in cafeteria while Mexicans were there, however when they left on Sunday the next day on Monday there was pretty much nothing to eat for people that were not Mexicans. And even the food looked like it was lef [... read more]tovers from the previous day. Very poor selection of food. Very little varieties of fruit oferred. Very few of serving staff understood English spoke only Mexican. The mattress in room was so hard it felt like sleeping on a board. Pillows are the worst I've seen my life, it was like sleeping on a rock. Definitely both mattress and pillows NEED to be changed. What was weird also that mattress was covered with plastic sheet underneath of the bed sheet. Bed sheet was a flat sheet which barely covered the mattress and because of huge terrible discomfort in bed in the morning the flat sheet was rolled to a half of the bed so you end up sleeping on a plastic/vinal sheet. Another HUGE disadvantage was a Disco bar/night club/restaurant which was about 1 km max from the hotel. On Friday and Saturday the music was SO loud till 4:30 in the morning, my husband and couldn't fall asleep and get rest till after they shut the "party" down. We ended up sleeping in in am cause of lack of sleep over the night. Not much attractions in that area. Ocean had huge waves up to 12-15 feet and was very rough and dangerous to swim. We were told at this time of the year (March) ocean is always rough. For the activities on site-Movie nights were ONLY in Mexican no English at all. TV was all in Mexican except for 1 channel-very old movies. The beach had very limited number of umbrellas and chairs to sit or lay down on. Early in the morning when I got one chair to lay down on, my husband went to the pool area to get for himself as well, but was stopped and told could not take it from the pool area. Then my husband asked the guy what he could use and from where he could get one, the guy talked to another service staff in Mexican about it in front of my husband and eventually was allowed to get one for himself but was told next time to ask if could get one. Let me be clear, before the dark hotel personnel picks up ALL the chairs from the beach area, so in the morning there's none available on the beach so eventually you had to get one for yourself. Not impressed about that or the stall of getting a chair to use on the beach. I went to vacation by the ocean to enjoy the ocean water not an overcrowded pool which is max 1.5 miter deep. If I wanted to go to a pool could do that locally without spending thousands of dollars on it. Wifi very weak in the overcrowded lobby. No iron in the room. Water bottles limited to 1 per person per day. Of course no fridge with drinks. In the room the main venting system is very loud. Slept with air conditioning off but because of the noise coming out of the venting system took quiet some time as well to fall asleep. Overall would rate the hotel 2 stars max. My advice if you had stayed before at resort 4 and 4+ resorts DO NOT go to this resort. You will get disappointed. For the value of money we paid it could and should have been better. Will not be returning to this hotel/resort.

Azul Ixtapa Grand Resort: Amazing service

This resort experience it was an amazing one. My family had an exceptional time and we really didn't have any complaints. The service from all the people that worked there was top notch. The à la carte restaurants were great, the buffet was decent, the grounds were very clean, the rooms were great, and the location was beautiful. The beach is not the best for swimming but the fact that you can use Beaches to either side of the resort was great. Azul Ixtapa Resort: Fantastic Resort

The Azul Ixtapa Resort was one of my favorite trips to date. The hotel is absolutely beautiful and the staff there were so friendly and helpful. The hotel was immaculately clean and the rooms were spacious with a great ocean view. The food was excellent with access to many great restaurants on the resort. The beach was great and the ocean was warm. The weather was fantastic - Sun, sun and more sun! There is an in-house band that plays nightly in the lobby of the Azul Ixtapa Hotel that goes until 12:00 or so. I had a fantastic time and will definitely be going back to the Azul Ixtapa Resort next year in February. It was a wonderful vacation!

Azul Ixtapa Grand Resort: Generally good…just a little uneven.

Overall, our recent visit to the Azul Ixtapa Grand was very good. Here are some hotel pros and cons… Pro: - The rooms…very large, up to date and kept immaculately clean. - The views…all ocean view, perfect sunsets - The Staff…everyone was cordial and very helpful - The Grounds…beautiful Cons: - Dining…food not consistent. A la carte restos lacked ambience, overly bright lighting. Main dining room feels like a cafeteria. Sunscape Dorado Pacifico: MY FAVOURITE VACATION!

I recently stayed at the Sunscape with my family (including my husband, 2 teenagers and my 68 year old mother). It was a wonderful vacation. This is by far my most favourite vacation. I can’t say enough about how friendly and pleasant each and ever staff member was. We purchased a Sun Club membership and it was well worth what we paid for it. Included in the Sun Club was a private lounge with premium cocktails, snacks, couches with a tv and free use of computers with internet. It also came wi [... read more]th wifi in our rooms. The top two floors are reserved for Sun Club members which gave a really nice view. We had purchased an ocean view room, but upon check-in we were given a partial ocean view; which was actually very nice because we had a view of both the ocean and a view of the mountains. I didn`t bother to complain or ask to move rooms as we enjoyed having both views. The bathrooms were stocked with soap, shampoo, conditioner and body lotion (Sun Club also hds a sewing kit and shoe shine). The Sun Club rooms also provided room service (which we never used), bathrobes and slippers. The hotel is a smaller resort which is what we prefer as there is less walking and is less busier at meal times. The rooms were clean and nicely decorated. The fridge was stocked fully every day with water, beer, coke and orange soda. The maids did a fantastic job of getting all the sand off the floor and even checked in with us at the end of the day to make sure we had everything we needed. The beach at Sunscape is amazing and we enjoyed many hours playing in the waves. The ocean was extremely warm; however the water is dark and I did miss the turquoise caribbean blue water. The food was amazing. Every day was a different theme. Even with a picky eater, there was something at every meal to satisfy all of us. There were 4 restaurants to eat from: the snack bar near the pool and beach, Windows restaurant (which is a buffet), Blue Water Grill which is an a-la-cart restaurant, and the Mario’s Italian restaurant (dinner only). Twice during the week they served a buffet dinner outside in the Court yard. The Coco Café served amazing lattes and cappucinos and had sandwiches and snacks for in between meals. There is a big problem with people reserving chairs with towels around the pool. Sun Club members get to reserve chairs but other people are left without any place to sit, unless they come at 7:00 am. There is a sign posted saying that the items will be removed from chairs if the chair is not occupied within an hour however no one ever came to remove the towels and a lot of the chairs were left unused for a good portion of the day. The hotel is directly across the street from a strip mall including restaurants, shopping, convenience stores, pharmacy; and it is a 10 minute walk to a market where you can purchase souvenirs. However, during the day vendors would walk up and down the beach selling souvenirs to purchase. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone and would definitely return. In other reviews, complaints were made about not being able to bring a drink with you to your room. This is not the case, you just have to ask for a plastic cup to take your drink with you and the bartender will be more than happy to assist you.
