So disappointed!

We stayed a week at this resort based on their pictures on the internet and were quite surprised at how worn out it was compared to what we saw. We have been to Cuba before and knew they’re would be issues but we didn’t expect it to be so bad at this resort. All stalls at the pool would be out of toilet paper by noon and that was it until the next day.. hand dryers didn’t work and no towels to wipe your hands. The washroom closest to the buffet was always out of toilet paper, rooms had bro [... read more]ken toilet seats or toilets that didn’t flush, lights were burnt out in the rooms , no coffee makers in a lot of rooms, never had anywhere to exchange our beach towels for the whole week.The sand fleas were bad so getting a fresh towel would have been so helpful. Also, bedding wasn’t changed whether you were there for one or two weeks, they often ran out of red wine, gin, sprite and ice. This is a very large resort and most of the lights along the walkway were burnt out so if you didn’t have a flashlight you could very easily trip in the darkness. Very dangerous. The buffet?? We are not picky eaters at all but we had a hard time finding anything that tasted good. Not all the cooking stations were operating so the line up for omelettes or cooked meat at night was always an hour wait. No pasta, bananas, oatmeal, out of bread many times, too many mixed mystery salads. We tried to eat at the snack bar which only served sandwiches or burgers but they were always out of bread or buns so you just got the patty.. sometimes no fries either. The beach was one of the most beautiful we have ever seen and thoroughly enjoyed looking out at that beautiful water. No bathroom at the beach which is inconvenient. We had hot weather and a beautiful beach but that’s the only two things we could take away from this vacation. We will never return to this resort and would not recommend it to anyone.

Wonderful resort

Enjoyed everything from grounds to food to beach to staff, I hope to come back next year. The weather was nice and hot. We met people from other parts of Canada. The restaurants had a nice variety. The staff was very accommodating.

Not as good as last year.

I was disappointed compared to last year. Grounds are still very well maintained and gardens are beautiful. The beach and ocean are most amazing and enjoyed those very much. Problem was the beach bar-b-que only opened 3 times in the 2 weeks we spent there so had to go to the buffet or pool snack bar for lunch (long walk). Beach towel was changed once in 2 weeks as the towel exchange hut was never open. Bedding was changed once in our room and my daughter says her bedding was never changed in the [... read more] 2 weeks they were there. There was also no bread therefore serving hamburger or weiner buns for breakfast (fun making toast with that) a-la-carte served us a piece of weiner bun as their warm buns🥴, snack bars could not serve their menu as it mostly involved sandwiches. The a-la-carte’s Had a separate page on their menu with prices for the meals leaving the all inclusive with very little choice (might as well eat at buffet) and take your chances with their choices. And their meal prices were not cheap considering the value of the Canadian dollar. Whatever happened to the all inclusive at this point🤬😡. Line ups at the buffet grills were like 30 or so long they have 2 buffet with grills but only used the seating room for the overflow. With the amount of people the resort had they could have easily opened the other buffet. Lots of people complaining and saying they would not come back to this resort and it will be a long time or never before we go back as well.

First & Last Visit to Valentin

Hotel lobby was nice,rooms require updates, definitely not 4.5 star. Dirty stained sheets and towels.Out of bread for first three days,then butter then wine.Always something. Please pack toilet paper, seems to be a shortage whether hotel or airport. Good coffee bar,buffet was lousy.Please read reviews on Tripadvisor and if you still decide to book pack toilet paper.

Lovely Resort with a beautiful beach..... BUT.....

Very disappointed with our room service, no clean sheets for the whole of our 10 day stay, and had to take our towels out to the maid after 4 days to get my own clean ones.... plus several days where we couldn’t get fresh bread other than stale hamburger buns in the buffet. Ordered a pick-up for us and our suitcases the night before we left, as we were leaving at 6:10am and they wanted us to check out at 5:10am, and no one showed..... Perfect Vacation!

The resort of beautiful, and staff extremely friendly! We had the most amazing server named Carlito, who always made sure we had a place to sit at the buffet and were well taken care of. The rooms were clean, and mould free, although a bit damp, but that's to be expected. The 24 hour snack bar always had French fries, and other snack foods late at night. The beach was to die for, well taken care of, and the service impeccable. Amazing place

Room, beach,food and bars were great!! We were put in a room with two beds, the girls at front desk gave us a key for another room with a king bed and we were moved in 15 mins later....service is 10 plus. The servers at the buffet and a la cartes, main lounge, pools, beach and 24hour eatery were excellent. They had alot of condiments at the buffets too. The entertainment at beach and pool super!! VPB Not for the faint of heart...

Having been to Cuba before I knew not to expect much food wise not to mention I have several very severe food allergies and packed accordingly. Staff were great for most part, but there were several hiccups. PROS: Great beach, polite staff, amazing cappuccinos and nightly shows. CONS: Bed sheets were changed only once in 7 days, Food was extra awful, tips were at times were basically demanded (Which I refused to do when asked), saw a fellow traveler puke in one of the pools at like 1 in the  [... read more]morning(Stopped by front desk to tell them and they didn't seem to concerned). Dirty dishes all over resort which were left for days, seemed like consumption of excess alcohol was encouraged(Saw a bartender pour 50 shots of tequila for a young man who then proceeded to drink most of them before falling down due to intoxication.)

Amazing resort!

This was our second time around at Valentin Perla Blanca. We first visited in January 2017 and again this year. We love the beach, the bars, the entertainment, the staff, the food, the fact that it's an Adult Only resort. The beaches are clean, lounge chairs taken to wherever you want, drinks galore brought to you or picked up at the beach bars. The bars (in the resort and on the beach) provide whatever you may desire. The entertainment in the evening is varied, there's something for everyone [... read more]. The staff is ever-smiling and willing to make your wishes come true. The Buffet offers a wide variety of dishes for all times of the day. Wine galore or whatever you feel like. The staff is courteous and even though they're sometimes limited in their knowledge of the English language, they will try to get whatever you want. We're in our 60's so we like it quiet but lively. The pool is a perfect way to get both, the entertainment and the quiet. The pools are well maintained as well as the gardens. The pool areas offer lunch possibilities (a quick snack if you don't want a heavy lunch). Just a suggestion for the cooks: if cooking beef, cook it on open fire (grill), it would taste a lot better. We drank the water and ate the salad and never had any health issues. The resort was touched by the 2018 hurricane and it would be nice to have the roof re-installed over the entertainment area. Any scheduled event is redirected to the main lobby in case of rain. The rooms and washroom facilities are kept clean at all times. Change of towels and sheets at any given time when requested. Pool towels available at the pool area. Comfortable lounge chairs and beds. Flowers on the bed and towels in heart shape when rooms are cleaned. Really nice touch. Customer service always ready to help in case of problems. Internet was down on several occasions...too bad. All in all, we would go again!

Awesome vacation!

This hotel was lovely. When we were there it wasn't full so we had no problems finding beach chairs or pool chairs. The staff is very friendly and the hotel is very clean. The gardens are beautifully keep and the beach.... the beach is the reason we go. Best beach that I have ever been too. The food in the buffet was very good and the latte's in the lounge bar were fantastic!

Great resort!

This resort is a true gem. Beach, pool, rooms and staff were all great - in particular Yinette in the snack bar and Adrien in housecleaning services. Wonderful New Year’s feast - lobster, champagne and roses for all the ladies. Truly a memorable evening.

Great resort

The grounds are very well kept. The staff are all very genuine and a pleasure to be around. pools are clean with plenty of chairs. the beach was excellent lots of great sand and service was always great.

Our third year in a row staying there

The hotel staff are amazing. Friendly, helpful and really make the vacation pleasant. One does not go to Cuba for the food. It is largely chicken, pork and fish, rice, veggies and pasta. We are fine with it but others found it bland. The beach is beautiful. Our hotel room was clean. The room maid did an excellent job every day. There were some problems however. The pool towel that was in our room when we arrived had to last for the entire week as new towels were not available. The pool had mould [... read more] growing on the tile grout so either they were not using chlorine in the water or not using the correct amount. The one restaurant had a serious black mould problem on the ceiling caused by a leaking roof. Painting it does not solve the problem. This hotel while only about 5 years old (?) is starting to look a little worn. Overall great value for the money but if the management does not start to re-invest in the property this location it will lose it's appeal quickly.

Worst resort ever

I went to this resort thinking that this resort was new and would be good. Much to my surprise it was super bad. Unfriendly staff, never gets anything done. Super bad internet which is almost never working.

Awesome resort

The resort was great. Room was nice and clean. The buffet food was very tasty and had different items each day - you simply must try the omelets :) We really liked the al la cart restaurants, especially the French restaurant. The bars were well stocked, and the endless Cappuccino's were a personal favorite of mine. The pools were warm, huge and very clean. Good resort with a disappointing downfall

Staff amazing Food not bad Could’ve had a better alcohol selection My main issue with this resort was that our neighbours phones got stolen out of their rooms (Possibly because the back door was left unlocked). Luckily the gentlemen had an Apple Watch on his wrist, which made it possible to locate his and his girlfriends phones. We ended up finding them ditched in a bush in his hat which was used to hold both chargers and phones. I would return to this resort strictly because of the [... read more] staff. Just make sure you lock up everything.

Wonderful people and culture.

The resort grounds were still damaged from the storms and should not have been opened yet until more repairs were completed. Several people cut themselves on broken tiles including us. Lack of medical

Calm and relaxing: perfect if you want to just be at the resort and chill over there.

The resort is beautiful and calm, the pools and beaches are clean and nice, but the information on where to go is not so clear (missing some signs). Overall really good quality. The resort in itself seems new and the rooms are pretty. It's far from a lot of places, so if you want to go on expeditions, be prepared to be in a bus for 1h30 and more, depending on where you go. Basic

We had a terrible room. Three beds although we asked for a king. Although I am fully aware that is never guaranteed I was disappointed to have very little room in the room because there were 3 queen beds taking up the space. The hotel was not even close to being full. Also we never received our privileged package in the room even though everyday they promised to send it. Cleaning staff was great though. Room was clean.

Nice Resort!

Very beautiful lush gardens, modern resort! Took a while to find path to the one beach that was beautiful, other paths led to rocky endings. Beautiful sandy beach though with turquoise waters, lots of chairs that were brought to you and brushed off. Beach bar and grill excellent! Pool was large and active, only stayed to one side of resort, the mirror image of resort on other side (which had the rocky non existent beach) not very lively.
