Memories Jibacoa: Exceeded our expectations!!!

We have always thought that this resort looked interesting and had never pulled the trigger…. We’re so glad we did!!! The room was very comfortable and clean. There was ample hot water. The mini fridge was well stocked with water, soft drinks and a couple of beer. Nobody goes to Cuba for fine dining, but the food was very good with lots of choices. There is a bakery onsite and the breads and rolls are delicious!!! There’s a beautiful coral reef right off the beach, a mountain to climb with an a [... read more]mazing view from the top and all sorts of organized daily activities if you’re so inclined. There’s also nightly entertainment that usually finishes up around 10:30. One of the very best things about this resort is the staff. They go above and beyond!!! We can’t wait to go back!!

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Holguin: Great Resort

We just got back from a week at the Sanctuary at Grand Memories Holguin and did an on-premise upgrade to Premium class. The resort: It is beautiful, new and modern and well laid out, with the usual Cuban oddities. The week we were there was very odd in terms of resort occupancy. The Sanctuary area was fairly well booked, but the non-Sanctuary area of the resort was virtually empty. Close to empty pools, very few people. Not sure if this was because the North-American school breaks were o [... read more]ver or the general warnings about food shortages, but occupancy for the resort in general was very low (I heard 50%). This is the time we normally travel to Cuba and are used to it being prime season with full resorts. One good side-effect is that the price was very reasonable - we paid less for upgraded room (mini-suite overlooking the ocean plus Premium Service and Priority Elite on the plane) for roughly what we would have had to pay for basic travel/room at DR or Mexico. Premium: We upgraded to the Premium service and while fairly expensive, it was a game-saver due to the food situation (more on that later). The butler service was very good in the day (Heyli was awesome), the nighttime butler was pretty much useless. Food: Cuba is going through a very rough patch and it showed in a number of areas on the resort - primarily in the area of food. While the resort obviously tried it's best to work with what it had, the variety and quantity of the food was very poor. For instance one day there was absolutely no bread on the resort. I never saw any fresh fruit, and vegetables were restricted. Primarily the staple was rice and eggs. There was usually some chicken and occasionally beef or pork, but they typically ran out during each meal period. And of course there was always the staple - hotdogs (no buns) and sausage. The Premium service provided a-la-carte breakfast, lunch, and supper. We only used the a-la-carte breakfast once but almost exclusively used a-la-carte lunch and supper. While the a-la-cartes had restricted choice, the food was well-prepared and presented. TripCentral: We booked through tripcentral. I think they have the best website for easily finding travel packages for the dates you want. Once we paid we were assigned a travel agent who provided timely and helpful trip information and was very quick to respond to my enquiries. Sunwing: While we had 45 minute flight delays both ways (plus a longer delay leaving because one passenger didn’t board the flight - they were eventually able to track her down in an airport bar) but the flights were uneventful and the crews were outstanding (fun and personable). We paid extra to upgrade our seats to Priority Elite which gave extra leg room - extremely worth it on the long flights. The bonus was that we had priority check-in and supposedly priority baggage service. In reality the priority baggage service was non-existent. But the priority check-in at Halifax was much-appreciated. There was a very long check in line for regular seats but the priority line had no one in

Grand Memories Santa Maria: Amazing Vacation!

This was out first time at Grand Memories and second time time in this area. There were five in our party, grandparents, parents and teenagers. We had a very positive experience. Our flight and check in went very smoothly. The entertainment staff, especially Jason and Yonky, were amazing and their people skills were exceptional. The food, grounds and rooms were great! We were very happy with our adjoining room. Loved the carts that shuttled guests around. The beach at this property was out [... read more]standing. Probably one of the best we have experienced in Cuba! We would definitely return to this resort without hesitation.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: Very nice resort

We found there was more variety in food choices over at Grand Memories . That is where we tended to eat at dinner time . Sanctuary had a beautiful big pool but we are beach people and it was spectacular. The staff were absolutely amazing always making sure you had what you needed .

Grand Memories Varadero: Very bad resort

Hotel is run down. Washrooms are terrible. No toilet paper. No napkins. Room very dirty. No hot water. Phone in the room not working. It was a very nad experience. No spoons. Food was terrible. Bed sheets dirty.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Great Resort

The staff are so friendly, great food and plenty of it, beautiful beach, lots of activities to get involved, including games for adults and kids. Great pools, fresh beach towels daily. They are currently renovating so there have been some issues reported on rooms but if your like me you wont be in there except to sleep and shower. Great shows every night. Will definitely go again.

Memories Jibacoa: Amazing resort

Loved everything about this resort. We had a bad experience last year at a newer poorly managed one in cuba and happy we gave cuba another chance. It's smaller older and very quaint. We loved the old world charm and the setting and the grounds were stunning. Service, food staff were very good. Did not experience any shortages. Really easy to meet new people. Will definitely return

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Easy and relaxing

Memories Flaminco beach resort 1. The people are friendly, helpful, and connecting. 2. The food was very good. I enjoyed the variety and they still make fresh fruit smoothies. 3. The entertainment l enjoyed and each night it got better and better. Great team 4. They are ready to respond to any needs that may come up. 5. The gardeners deserve respect and appreciation. 6. Sanctuary Cayo Largo: Very nice and friendly resort

Had a wonderful stay at this resort. all expectations of the resort were met. would go again. grounds were clean . Would go again for sure. what made this place so special is the staff and the ability to have access to all other resorts if needed. We stayed 90% of our stay at sanctutuary and had a great time. ?❤️

Memories Paraiso: Welcoming and warm

I had a great trip recently to Memories Paraiso. I discovered I was in "premium class" a few days in. In particular I would like to thank Mulvalie(sic) for her kind attention. As a solo traveller I greatly appreciated her consideration and inclusiveness. Overall this friendliness of the staff could not be improved upon and it made for a superb visit. Memories Jibacoa: Great Stay at Memories Jibacoa

This was our third stay at this resort and it met our expectations. Some of the key features that we enjoyed are the small resort size, it is adults only and the snorkelling. Being a small resort, it is easy to get to know some of the staff and other patrons during a one week stay. With an older clientele, the resort is fairly quiet. By comparison to other resorts, the buffet had a good selection and no notable shortages. Rooms are dated but clean and fridge was stocked daily. The grounds a [... read more]re very well kept. A la carte restaurants and resort facilities, except one bar under renovation were all open. There is also a dive shop at the beach. Pedal boats and sit on kayaks can be taken out or you can book a ride on the catamaran. There are only two resorts at this location and not much for shopping or eating off-resort. There is a hiking trail up the hill behind the resort which has a nice look off. The main attraction here is the main reef and small coral formations that start just off the beach and provide one of the better easy access snorkelling opportunities in Cuba.

Grand Memories Holguin: Beautiful Resort

This is our third time in Cuba. This resort is beautiful, fairly new, well kept and clean. Everything in our room worked as it should. The servers, housekeeping staff and management always had a smile and ready to help. The beach very nice. We did not stay at the Sanctuary but did upgrade to premium. Our butler, Julio was always available and arranged all of our al la carte dinners. Some issues - Premium upgrade (other than butler service) was questionable. We did not see any premium [... read more] only beach area or in the restaurants. The over 19 area was not well controlled with a number of youngsters and teens present. No maps available and not too sure which restaurants were open/closed. When we arrived we did not have a separate registration - again premium was to include this. On our last day, leaving the resort at 6:30, we went to the 24 hour snack restaurant to have a quick meal there they only had hot dogs and hamburgers but no buns, no pizza, nothing else. We were aware of some food shortages but the rest of the resort had availabilities, so this is a management issue. During our stay, after the weekend, the resort had no cola, Sprite, pop, no wine - very limited drinks menu. By Tuesday, they were restocked but not all liquors, so beware. Variety of food was limited. Pasta, chicken, cheeses, breads but were mostly the same every day. Would have loved to see more fish/seafood and variety! At the end of the trip we were bussed to the airport. When we got out of the bus we had to get our luggage out of the baggage area. My husband in his 70's should not have been the one to get the bags out of the bus for us and many others.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: Beautiful beach…. Food shortages

We arrived at 10pm and the restaurants were closed. The 24 hour snack bar had burgers with no buns, chicken salad sandwiches with no bread and the only other option was pasta with tomato sauce. This was not a great first impression considering we upgraded to premium. The room was not very clean and was old and needed updates. They only changed our bath towels twice while we were there ( shortages) . We could not change our beach towel all week so had to use them the entire week. There was brea [... read more]d only three of the 7 days in the sanctuary restaurant only. None of the ala carts or buffet ever had bread. There was mashed potatoes three of the days and they were watery. The other days there were no potatoes . Pina coladas were not available at most bars. Premium drinks were not available at all bars. There was very little chicken , no beef, …. The food was not good. Deserts were limited to one flavour of ice cream usually and some flan. The was only one flavour of soda available each day at the buffet . They would rotate between Fanta and cola. Do not leave your beach towels unattended while walking in the beach or swimming…. Many people complained about their towels being taken. The grounds were well maintained for the most part. The only unsightly thing we saw was what appeared to be 6” of septic backup in the area behind the pool bar at the loud pool. This bar was closed for two days until they pumped the septic tank and cleaned up the mess. We had French fries most days at sanctuary area but there was none to be seen anywhere else on the resort. I have been to Cuba 14 or 15 times, three times since Covid. My expectations are always low but the shortages appear to be getting worse . We will likely not return any time soon.

Memories Paraiso: Better than expected

After reading plenty of negative reviews, I was prepared for various shortages and some less than cleanly facilities. While staying in March 2025, there was lots of food and coffee. The electricity never went out and the room was spotless. The grounds were well kept and the Paraiso side of the resort (pool and beach) were delightfully quiet. There were inconveniences with logistics and communications from the front desk, the public toilets were sometimes in poor condition and the restaurant expe [... read more]rience was disappointing. These were minor concerns compared to a spectacular beach and a full belly.

Memories Jibacoa: Lovely resort!

Beautiful, established property with well manicured grounds. Plenty of great and helpful staff to make our stay the best. Buffet and a la carte restaurants—very good with no shortages of anything. Great place if you like to snorkel as there’s a reef across the entire bay just off the beach. Had a great time.

We loved our 11 day stay at Sanctuary. Our room was ocean view and in need of some updating but it was very clean. There is a wonderful market not far from the resort that has restaurant's, shops and a bowling alley. Staff were so amazing and helpful The beach is breath taking. My daughter was lucky enough to see 6 dolphins we will definitely go back to this resort

Beautiful beaches , amazing staff all around , the butler service was amazing , saw dolphins swimming by on the beach ,the pool bar had a great atmosphere , we enjoyed the sunshine so much we didn’t make it much later after dinner , we had an amazing day deep sea fishing ! First thing I’d like to say is thank you to each, and every staff member that I encountered at this resort every single one of you are great people and very down to earth and very helpful and assertive I went on this vacation by myself with minimal expectations I left the resort with great memories. I met great people along the way. Anybody that is thinking about this hotel take the opportunity to see the beach one of the best I’ve ever seen in my opinion in today’s world everybody’s opinion is different… I would also like to say a special thanks to Janet the maid from block B. She’s a very beautiful woman. And very kind. And always said good morning. Papasito made me feel real comfortable, even though I was in block a. Just passing by she even got upset when I left asked me why I didn’t tell her. I talked to her and a translator one of the staff members the day. I was leaving. She gave me the biggest hug ❤️ thank you Mamacita …as for the main pool bar you guys are absolutely the best people I’ve met on vacation in a long time. Anything I needed you guys always help me and I appreciate it more than you know. Also, the lady that worked there I’m not sure her name is off by hand called me Papasito. I appreciate it. As for the facilities the buffet I would like to say thank you to one of the girl in the buffet and I wasn’t able to get her name or picture. I do have some pictures of the staff. I would love to share this this girl at the main buffet as soon as you walk through the door during the day and walk straight ahead she has glasses she noticed that I was a little bit off, which I did have a health concern and she kept making sure that I was OK. I had plenty of water. And kept asking me if I felt OK. And if I needed anything, I didn’t have money at the time, but it meant so much to me that I walked all the way back to my room, and I returned and found her at the staff meeting. And I gave her a tip based on the service I received from her and I greatly appreciate it. She is also very beautiful and spoke alittle English as for overall cleanliness in the resort I believe it was a very clean resort you always seen people scrubbing or cleaning something. The effort was there, and they should be rewarded for it. The buffet stuff, especially the pasta bar and pizza seafood and meat bar the people work tirelessly to make sure that everybody is fed on the resort and they should also be rewarded for what they do. They’re sitting in a full suit and stifling hot conditions and they never stop. The beach bar staff deserves a lot of credit too for the service. They provide a lot of drunk people and they do a very thorough job taking care of everybody. I can’t say enough I built great memories if I were to choose a resort again, this one will always come mind I do have some pictures of the staff. Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Trip to Cayo Coco -- Memories of Caribe

The grounds were fine. The buffet was fine. Some days things were missing and back on the next day. Which was ok. Going to the grills and waiting for a few minutes to have something hot was amazing (beef, pork chicken, fish, pasta, rice and eggs). Not that the buffet was cod. A la cartes were good especially Asian that I was able to have a 4 course meal. The service was great in both buffet and a la carte. The rooms were spacious. We had 2 double beds in our first room and then a king b [... read more]ed in our second. The housekeeping staff were very helpful and would keep our rooms up to par. The down fall at this site was that our rooms were booked by one person and we were put in to different buildingds. Not close together. After one night and a day we were put in the same building on the ground floor. Which was good. Then when it was time to take a shower I found out that they did not have hot water in at least 4 towers and are working on it. They agreed to move us to another room in the resort but my wife said no that we moved once and she didn't want to move again . So they gave me a room I was able to go to once a day that I could have a shower. The day excursion to Moron and surrounding areas was awesome to see other parts of Cuba. Also picking up souvenirs and learning some of the history was great. At the resort the public washrooms were no always close by and some didn't have toilet

The Hotel was good, clean and had good service. Grounds very clean and amazing landscaping. Staff very friendly and helpful. Entertainment was awesome, great shows with very talented performers. Beautiful beaches.
