Small resort, overall so so

Overall we had a good experience but not great. Food and drinks were good and I liked the unlimited a la cartes. That being said our shower leaked so the floor was always wet and the entertainment was under whelming.

Great resort for all, single or couples

The hotel overall was a great experience. The staff were friendly, and the food was good. The hotel itself is smaller, but overall is a good time. Nothing bad to say other than the weather, but that's out of anyone's control.

Nice Resort

Hotel was very nice.Staff very friendly and can't do enough for you. Service was very good.They did a nice job on the renovations.Found the buffet food was not hot. Everything was cold.The food could have been a little better for a 4 and a 1/2 star.It was nice that you didn't have to make reservations for the restaurants. Found the beach was a long walk.which is where the italian restaurant was. They almost need a shuttle to the beach.Service at all restaurants were good and around the pool. The [... read more] maintance guy which I think his name was Julio did a fantastic job. The pool was crystal clear everyday.Our room was very nice with comfortable beds and a good shower.

Not that bad

Front desk useless, but rooms were nice, pool small but easy to get chairs, beach was a little walk but gets longer as week goes on, lol. Beach is nice. Food was ok but long waits at diner, only 2restraunts open a night some times over an hour wait, all low grade alcohol, for 4.5 star this was a joke. But for money paid not bad, 10 bucks to get in and 20 to leave. Will stick to Mexico from now on there is no comparison

Modern, relaxing and clean resort

This resort was lovely. The room was clean and bar fridge was stocked. The daily turniver service was nice too. The restaurants we great too! I (for the most part) enjoyed the food. The burgers at the beach restaurant were nasty (sitting in fishy water all day) .. the animation staff were fun and very talented. The only issue for me was the nightlife at the resort. The bar closed at midnight and the disco opened. The music at the club was mediocre at best. There was also nobody there lol. VERY NICE RESORT

ROOMS WERE GORGEOUS - VERY MODERN - NO NIGHTIME BUFFET HOWEVER, THE RESTAURANTS WERE GOOD - NOT GREAT. SMALL BEACH AREA AND NOT ALOT OF SUN HUTS - AND A BIT OF A WALK TO GET TO THE BEACH. THEY push the timeshare constantly!!!!!!

Soso resort

The beach was awesome and the room were spacious and clean. The breakfast buffet was very good lots of choices .The al cartes were so so not may options same food every night no buffet after 3pm.The entertainment was not very good not many activities to busy hanging around with the young girls night time no better. The worst thing was the hounding to buy a time share would not take no for an answer. This was our twelve time to the DR other resorts never bothered us this much. Well worth the money!

Great holiday with good food, clean, comfortable rooms and great staff that enjoy serving you without having to tip all the time. Not a drop of rain... A little windy some days at the beach so off ti the pool we went. Always a lounge chair available. Great value for the money.

Wonderful resort, clean and beautiful

very helpful staff, clean rooms, great food, lots of pool activities and fun night life. the beach is soft sands and clean with again activities there to partake in. The language barrier is not an issue, overall a very good vacation, even as a single entity I was impressed

Great Resort

Great food, great room, great service, great staff, great beach, especially the beach. The only reason it is not 5 stars in my opinion is the constant approaches by sales staff to get you to buy spa treatments or time share. We were there a week and were approached at least 5 times to either purchase a spa treatment or go to a time share presentation.

Good resort

Everything was good. You won't be disappointed, but you won't rave about the hotel or the beach when you return to Canada. There were always plenty of lounge chairs available on the beach but everyone played the towel game at the pool and chairs (very comfortable with cushions!) were difficult to obtain until the later afternoon. The Italian restaurant was our favourite but the Mexican and Fusion were also good a la carte dinner choices. Excellent food

Hotel was nice, not the fanciest Ive been to but the overall experience was very nice. The food was the best part, the Blend restaurant was awesome, the Salmon dish was so good I had it 2 nights. My least favourite was the Mexican, it was good but lacked all the extras like guac, sour cream, cheese, lettuce and all the condiments we are used to getting with fahitas here in Canada. Staff were great, especially Alexis with the hair and Daysi but they were all great. The only thing I missed was the [... read more] resort didn't have a lobby bar.

Beautiful resort

We recently vacationed at Wyndham V Heavens. The resort is beautiful, rooms are spacious and clean. We ate at all of the restaurants and the food was amazing. The animation staff was alot of fun. The service staff and bartenders were great. I would definately return

Small & Simple

Our room (nirvana) was very simple w/ 2 queen size beds but no chairs, tables or dressers. But it was clean, which is probably the most important to us. There is only 1 pool that wasn't very big and was always busy and all of the lounge chairs were used or being reserved with a towel. The beach was nice and you can usually find an empty lounge chair or 2. There wasn't much shade though. The water was wavy every day of our week and it was pretty full of seaweed at times but we still enjoyed it. Very Relaxing Vacation

Overall, we had a great time. The property was clean, staff were great, beach was amazing and the food was very good. It gave us what we were looking for and that was peace and quiet. The only draw back was the hoarding of lounge chairs by the pool, by the same group of guests day in and day out.

Great Value Beautifull resort- can only get better

7 of us went the resort was lovely the food was excellent, rooms were Clean, we had a misunderstanding with 2 of our rooms at first and the hotel was very accommodating and settled the problem as quickly as possible. The staff was amazing. The entertainment was lacking but they were not quite set up for it. The beach was beautiful and a short walk. The people on the beach were pretty good if you said no to what they were selling didn't really bother you. So and so resort

The resort is a 3-start at best. It lacks food quality and the entertainment is not good. It's always outside (which rained 4 nights out of 6!) and is not good quality. The access to the beach is not friendly as it's not close to the resort. Btw the resort is not on the beach; so no beach front rooms). Although must workers are friendly, be aware of the massage person responsible to get contracts...he was really annoying!! There is no swimming bar pool, not much music during the day and/or early [... read more] evening (although it's a adult only!) and it's very difficult to get a lawn chair (unless you are up at 3:00 am!). Not much positive things to say. Needless to say, we will not be returning to that resort.

Relaxing Resort

We stayed Viva Wyndham V Heavens the first week of February 2016 and were pleasantly surprised with our holiday. There was a friendly laid back atmosphere among the staff who worked hard and were willing to look after every detail. The towel staffer always had smile and greeting, the girls who served drinks at the pool were a great bunch and "Shampoo" the activities director is a real bonus to the group, he made every event so much fun. Excellent choi [... read more]ce of drinks at the pool bar, with good quality booze, we had our choice of many mixed drinks from a menu or the bartender would make anything you asked for. The pool, while small was perfect for the mainly middle agers and with it being an "adults only" resort, no kids to watch out for. The buffet near the pool was excellent, for breakfast, lunch and dinner, so much variety, although we did miss out on the lobster and shrimp, the other fish was especially good along with seafood paella. The fresh fruit and juices were certainly appreciated by our group. There was a walk to the beach on a brick walkway, but it was along a jungle like area so was interesting. We visited the beach buffet twice for the pizza and once for the Italian dinner, while there wasn't the variety of food, the view of the beach made up for it. We liked being able to just show up at a restaurant with no reservations needed, "Blend" was our first choice and was a good one, excellent beef fillet and pork tenderloin, the service was superb, we chose champagne, another good choice, that we continued with the rest of the week. The word got out, "Blend" seemed to fill up rather quickly, later on in the week. Our rooms were clean and changed daily, little chocolate kisses on the covers each night with the turn down service. We were in Block 5, it is a good location close to the pool, dining and lobby. Our travelling companion, had problems with her key and it needed to be reset many times, good thing the lobby was close. The first day, it was also a cold shower for her, but it was repaired by nightfall. Otherwise it was a great holiday, with weather warm and perfect, good clean surroundings, polite, welcoming staff, great food selection and friends around the pool. What could be better?

Very disappointed with this resort

We waited so long for this week of holidays and were very disappointed. We went with six couples and we all booked the higher end rooms and when we arrived we were told they had overbooked and would not get these rooms. So we were put in rooms that had no hot water and some had no air-conditioning. We book a trip every year to celebrate our birthdays and I have to say this was the most stressful one we have had.

Everyone should have an experience like this.
