Prestine resort

The grounds of the Aquamarine resort were in prestine condition from the landscaping, tiles, pool , restaurants and rooms. We had an exceptional stay with so many things to do. We will definitely be looking in to staying again next year. The weather cooperated nicely. The animation crew was fantastic, lively and friendly. All staff were courteous and helpful. Thank you for making our stay a memorable one.

Resort was nice

First of all we didn't get what we were told by trip central representative which was a big disappointment. Breakfast and lunch buffet menu never change for duration of our stay, drinks were just OK and room service wasn't all that great.

Never Again

5 Star resort it is not. All inclusive it is not. They charge money for certain drinks at some bars but not at others. Getting around this resort is a nightmare. No matter where you want to go it is a long walk. They have golf carts/shuttle service that are supposedly there to drive you around. It was more like drive over you. I felt like I should of worn a bell around my neck. The language barrier was ridiculous. Understanding a little English for them would definitely help. The only positive  [... read more]were the following people: Rosa at the lobby for shows,Maria at the buffet, Carmen at the sports Bar, Manuel at front desk, and Joanna at the help desk which I visited a lot. If you are looking for a stress free vacation this isn't the spot for you.

Amazing Resort

This was the best resort I have ever experienced, from the wonderful, clean well appointed room, to the staff always looking after you. The food was delicious and the ambiance even in the buffet was incredible. The “Adult Only” was definitely what I needed to totally relax and feel pampered. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone making a trip to Punta Cana! You will not be disappointed!

Save your money

Well I tell you the resort and room we purchased was not the level we purchased . We purchased luxury amber green which changed after we already paid . It changed to grand Bahia principe aquamarine which that was fine if the luxury side of it was still there . No it wasn’t very disappointing. The service was terrible . The food was terrible and drinks were not at the level we expected . Our beach area was adult only but we were like sardine cans in one area . We had our own buffet area a [... read more]nd had to wait for clean plates a few times . My rice one night was hard because it had been siting there I’m sure for awhile . I could go on but I won’t . I was very disappointed.

Disappointing Grand Bahia vs Luxery Bahia Principe

TripCentral agent told us the Bahia Principe name is changing but it would still be the same......when you were told it’s a Luxery upfront and then find out only later that it isn’t Luxery at all. TripCentral did nothing to help us. We weren’t allowed to go to all of the a la carts, the security guy wouldn’t even lets us go to our friends room at Luxery Ambar....that’s crazy and we weren’t allowed at their pools either nor about to eat at the Beach Buffet with our friends. So don†[... read more]™t tell people next time it’s the same resort.....it isn’t .....we booked to an agent that never ever admitted it to us. Jessie and Maya ....only knew what they knew but again very disappointing. AquaMarine does have some positives....great pool....great rooms, maids are very slow and never brought any water or beer on the mini bar ....the bartenders in general are very slow and the alcohol was cheap and very sugary and sweet. Definitely not close as a Luxery. Luxery Ambar ....with the pool, the maids, the alcohol and the buffet and a la carts.....and talking to a few friends it definitely is a step up and then some.

Clean resort

The grounds are kept clean and nicely groomed, our room was clean, food was good. Beach was good other then over crowded. And yes u need to kept up before 6am to get a spot close to the water on the beach.

Bahia Principe Aquamarine

We stayed at the Esmeralda, part of this resort 3 years ago, and thought we had such a good experience we would go again. Well a lot has changed. Not the quaint, amazing 4.5 star resort that we knew. Now it is a huge unorganized, impersonable money grab and a 3star at best. Liquor is sub par, and any upgraded brands come at a charge, so much for all inclusive. Rooms in the Aquamarine are dated, but clean. Our bar fridge was not stocked everyday fully, and unless we left a tip, not would any [... read more] requests be filled, and a call to desk needed to be done. The buffet for breakfast is not stellar, you can get the eggs, omelets, fruit etc. The lunch is the same, and choices are the same everyday. There are many rules what you can access depending on where you stay. A bbq cart right by beach is not for you unless you have a Ambar bracelet, you have to walk to the dirty buffet, by the beach, and eat the same food, but it bbq but meat swimming in broth,and you cannot access the pool right by the beach, again only for the Ambar guests. It is a 10 min walk, from aquamarine buildings, or a trolley ride. Not a big deal, but if you have mobility issues could b a challenge. There is a pool for aquamarine, but we like to start at beach and sit by pool at end of day, but first have to walk back to our pool and in the rain or heat was not fun. No butler or anyone to offer any extras, like at the Esmeralda. We never went to any of shows at main theatre, just sat in our lobby for after dinner entertainment, bar service stops at 11 pm. The French, MEAT al la Cartes were good, the Dominican aweful. We ate there and before we were done our meal, they started dismantling the tables and cleaning around us, we had the only available sitting for 915pm, but it was empty when we arrived, no dessert as they took it away, and we felt like we didn’t even receive the proper service. We did voice our concerns to the waiter but all he said was thank you, he didn’t understand how rude it was. We won’t go back, it has become a big resort with little service and I really don’t think they care if you come or not.

Very relaxing week.

Recently spent a week at the Grand Bahia Principe Aquamarine and had a good time. The beach was nice but might want to check the distance of it from your section. We usually took a tram but it was a short ride to the beach and one could easily walk. The food was good. Staff very friendly and helpful. Would return.

AQUAMARINE EXCELENT

OUR THIRD TIME AT THESE HOTELS .ROOMS ARE VERY NICE AND CLEAN ,FOOD AT BUFFET WAS GOOD AND HAD PLENTY OF SELECTIONS, IN ALL WE REALLY ENJOYED OUR STAY . STAFF WERE ATTENTIVE AND FRIENDLY .THE ONLY MINOR COMPLAINT THAT WE HAD WAS THE LOBBY BAR COULD HAVE MORE STAFF IN THE EVENING WHEN THERE WAS A SHOW OUTSIDE .

Beautiful resort

This resort is exceptionally clean and beautiful. However, it is very large! There are 7 resorts in this complex. No one told us about the size of this place or that there are shuttle cars to take you where you want to go. The first day there was very frustrating because we walked so much before we found out about the shuttles. Also, it's not the resort on the beach...it's the second resort up from the beach. The rooms are spacious and clean and the pools are lovely. Lots of chairs on the beach, [... read more] but be careful not to sit in the roped off areas which are for the Ambar resort. The security will quickly approach you and get you to move. They know by the colour of your towels and the band on your wrist. Someone needs to explain these things to you when you book or when you arrive at the resort. We flew in with Air Canada Vacations and when we met with the rep. on day 2, he said nothing about the shuttles. Also, for the Aquamarine resort, the bus from the airport cannot take you to the lobby of this resort because the bus is too large. You have to get off at the entrance and another shuttle will take you to the lobby check in desk. Also, the theatre and many of the a-la-carte restaurants are not on this resort so you have to either walk or take a shuttle to them. We didn't find this out until the last day of our stay! So, we missed out on 2 a-la-carts before we realized this. All this being said, I would return now that I know about the shuttles!! Everyone is very friendly, but not everyone can speak good English, so there can be a language barrier.

Wonderful Resort

Likes: Grounds, where the best maintain that I have seen in years. Public Areas, People are so friendly Hotel Room, Well appointed Buffett, Some of the best food I have ever had in the DR for years Staff, Friendly and spoke english well Beach, the Grand had it's private beach and close to the bar and food service Pool, three on property, they are clean and beautiful Dislikes: Could not walk through the luxury property to get to the beach

Great Vacation

The hotel was clean and very attentive. Food was very good with a great variety. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Some of the entertainment Could have been a little better but overall ok.We would definitely go again someday.

Fantastic

Clean and comfy room with pool view. Cleaned beach daily and pool . Food was great and service as well .we stayed for a week could of stayed for two more weeks!night life was entirely entertaining and everyone joined in with dancing and singing! And plenty of pussy around to take of any rodents! The gardens and grounds were very neatly maintained

Beautiful and Clean

The grounds very well kept, clean and beautiful. The workers were not as friendly as in Cuba as per our experience, but we would certainly go back to this resort. We stayed at the adult resort Aquamarine. I will look for adults only for future resorts that we book. The pool was large with lots of places to swim and sit with good music. Shopping was great, didn't even haft to leave the resort. This was our first time in Dominican. We had to upgrade our room because the garden view was of a road a [... read more]nd a building in behind a fence that was very noisy. We were in front of the pool area that was nice, if we wanted to stay on our patio at night we could listen to the music in the lobby. Most nights we went to the bar and did a lost of dancing. Meant people and made new friends. The only negative we have are the bug bits that we had all over our bodies, mostly at night in the lobby and as we walked around the grounds.We had to spray our bed and sheets with off because when we got up in the morning we had been biting as we slept.

Fantastic Resort

Very clean, great staff. Good selection of food. Beach was beautiful. A place where you can be as busy or relaxed as you like! Aquamarine is an adults only resort. The Bahia Principe is a large resort which has many things for all ages. Can't wait to go back!

Big and Beautiful!!

First off I would like to say that my stay at Bahia Principe AquaMarine was absolutely fabulous. From day when we decided to book our vacation TripCentral really stepped up and made the planning process so painless for us. Thank You Teresa Gates for that!!! When we arrived at the Punta Cana airport we were greeted by our representative which kindly directed us first to cold beer then to our bus to take us to the resort. Upon arriving at the resort the check-in was very simple and they had our GO [... read more]RGEOUS room ready and waiting for us. All week we encountered exceptional food, service, and always entertained. The beach was nice, staff was friendly, and the pool was always a great place to kick back an relax. All in all this is definitely a 5 star resort priced very reasonable and I will be going back no questions asked.

Amazing place to stay

This is a beautiful place to stay. The staff were great to deal with. They were very interactive and always kept involved. Would recommend to anyone wanting to go somewhere warm. The only negative this i can say is don't eat the eggs in the morning because you are bound to eat lots of shells

Great resort!

It was Beautiful, well maintained grounds, pool was amazing. The staff was always doing something to get people involved. The restaurants were all amazing except for the Brazilian steak house. We read other reviews and we were worried we'd only be able to eat at a couple of the restaurants but we were allowed to eat at all the different restaurants. They did everything to accommodate our needs. They were willing to switch reservations anytime we asked if it was available. And if they couldn [... read more]'t switch the reservation when we asked, they would give us a time to come back to see if we could stitch once the system was updated. We were very pleased. And yes the resort was HUGE which could make for a lot of walking but if you didn't wanna walk you could ask almost anyone to drive you or wait for a "train" which went up and down all 3 roads regularly. The lobby areas would get very quiet at night but if you wanted some night life the village had the disco, casino and karaoke bar which would keep you entertained till 2am if you wanted and then head to the beach bar till 4am if you really wanted to keep going..lol The sports bar was ok, we weren't there often so can't really speak on how that really was. We have been on many vacations and have to say this is the best food we've had in any resort so far. We will be telling people about this place for sure and we will be returning! Oh and I'm not a beach person, I'm a pool person but the beach was beautiful!

Wonderful resort!!

Very well cared, nice staff, excelent accommodations!! My only complain is about Wi-Fi - it is not nice to have to refresh it every 24 hours and I had mine expired at 6pm the night before departure. Wi-Fi should be available all the time during the stay. When you are gone, you do not use it anymore. Food: buffet is sort of ok, A la carte - very good!
