Resonance Blu Santa Maria: Glad to have visited my amigos once again

This was my fifth visit to the Starfish.The beach is the best in Cuba in my opinion.Food was good for being off season and the drinks were awesome like usual.The staff is the main reason why I return here every year.Our maid Dandy was outstanding.Thanks amigos!

Memories Paraiso: memories paraiso

The room had insects. I found cockroach in the desk's drawers three times. There are also lots of mosquitoes. Also they don't change the sheets / towels daily. I have nothing else to say...no need 200 characters

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: Good place

Great place for vacation. The breakfast and lunches were great. Dinners were not the best. The drinks were awesome. Staff friendly. Beaches were good not much on snorkeling. Is far to travel from resort to resort. Get money exchanged before you go. They will rip you off on exchange.

Grand Aston Cayo Las Brujas: Will be going back!

This was our first experience at Sercotel, we have been to many other resorts in Cayo Santa Maria. I have to say that it was easily our top favorite for food, drinks, location and service. The grounds are beautiful, lush with flowers and greenery. The food was very good, especially in the a la carte restaurants, we ate like kings all week. The beach is large and ample, a lot of space for everyone and long enough for a good walk. We stayed in the club section which was perfect for us, it is  [... read more]adults only and has a personal pool, Jacuzzi tub and snack restaurant with amazing food. The only down about that section is that it is a good walk to the lobby and buffet so not good for people with mobility issues. I do have to say that carts go around regularly for those who do not want to walk. All in all we are very satisfied and planning to return to this hotel.

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Great vacation

The hotel is beautiful and the staff is friendly and helpful. Beach is narrow but long and the sand is white and the ocean is gorgeous. Would definitely return there and recommend it strongly. For the price is a great bargain

Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Amazing and relaxing

If you’re looking for something quiet and relaxing with some good evening entertainment this is the resort you want. The resort was amazing well kept and very clean. The people that worked on the resort we’re very nice intentive and generous. The beaches are amazing. Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Wonderful vacation

Nov 11 to 18. Only issue needed to change rooms as sliding glass door wouldn’t close. Hotel staff had us in another room 1/2 hour after arriving. We booked in spa area. Adults only. Very quiet. Building 20. Very close to everything. Encenochos beach is stunning. This was a trip to celebrate our 30th anniversary and our 1st time at this resort in cayo Santa Maria. Would definitely recommend and hope to be back again

Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Fantastic vacation

This was our 4th return trip to this resort The last was 2 years ago.The resort has made some vast improvement since our last visit. New upgrades with fresh paint in the building s, new fans in the lobby new couches, coffee bar and mojito bars areas have been extended and more seating areas added. Quality of food and the house wines have improved . The beach has been levelled down with better beach access and views of the water. Thank you also to Gorge and Vanny who are 2 experienced bar men with vast experience in the the choice of cigars and fantastic gentleman also not forgetting Leinisev the coffee boy who also works in the cigar bar . Al la carte were very good ,the seafood restaurant was exceptional Nelson was our server there and also works in the coffee bar. He is such a pleasant hard working young man. We also have to mention the beach guys and life guards. They are exceptional hardworking guys who also rake up any seaweed by hand to provide us with a beautiful clean beach We love this place We had a wonderful relaxed holiday and would return in a heartbeat

Valentin Perla Blanca: A lovely stay in Cuba!

My boyfriend and I just returned from our stay at the Valentin Perla Blanca and it was amazing! This was our first vacation together and our amazing travel agent, Julia was the most helpful throughout the whole process. The room we stayed in was a Gardenview bu you could still hear and see the ocean which was amazing. The food was good for Cuba and the staff was very friendly, always willing to help. We can't wait to go back again!

Gran Muthu Cayo Santa Maria: Small, But Functional Resort.....

We stayed at Melia Cayo Santa Maria for 2 weeks & it was our first time there. The grounds are very well maintained & picturesque. There resort had no tea whatsoever & some of the liquors were in short supply. The food was okay, but on some days we did have good meals. The rooms were always cleaned. The place is dated. The pools have some missing tiles.

Sol Cayo Santa Maria: Friendly staff, Run-down resort

Much of the staff couldn't speak English but they were always friendly. The grounds were well maintained, beach was very nice. The room was not well maintained, smelly & the food was by far the worst.

Dhawa Cayo Santa Maria: Dhawa

Great size of resort (everything close by) Beautiful beach Clean resort and rooms Good service Poor selection of food in buffet Poor selection of drinks (no juice for mixed drinks just flavored slush or pop)

Food of dining is bad, little choice. Change money is bad- cashier is a lout and a thief. Beach and ocean are good. Service is bad. Sometimes the drinks doesn't have on the beach's bar(beer). Garden is good.

Valentin Perla Blanca: Beautiful grounds but so-so stay

Just came back from 1 week at the Perla Blanca. The resort is beautiful, the rooms are spacious. We upgraded to the silver deluxe package but never received any of the things we were supposed to (ie. Bottle of rum in room upon arrival). We never got anything from our rep saying when our meeting was - literally nothing. We were the last ones out if the airport and the rep was extremely rude with us. Not our fault we got the slowest customs line ever. The a la carte restaurants were okay. Italian was the best of the week. Spanish restaurant we got Leisy and she was a wonderful girl. We actually went back a second time just because she was so awesome.. In the buffet they compete to get the tables it seems. We were always being fought over. Not sure if that's because we tip well. In the buffet if you can get Yunior or Calixio (sp?) They were also amazing. The beach towel guy was never around and we watched the maids recycle the dirty beach towels back into "new" guest rooms. That was day 5 and we finally figured out why the towels smelled musty. So gross. All in all, I would go back again with a large group but I would bring my own towel next time!

Gran Muthu Cayo Santa Maria: Melia Cayo Santa Maria switched from Golden Tulip Aguas Claras Resort

We switched resorts from Golden Tulip to Melia Cayo Santa Maria due to TripAdvisor reviews. We were so glad that you did switch. Melia Cayo Santa Maria is a small resort and was very quiet and very friendly staff. The only problem was that some domestic drinks were not available and NO TEA at all at this resort and many others on the island, as well as the airport. The rooms were large and nice. We have an ocean view, Villa 11. The first week was quiet with only 50% capacity, second week was a [... read more] bit busier but resort was not full. Second week we enjoyed more seafood as it became available. Staff was very friendly and always said hello to us. We met some new friends and enjoyed ourselves. The night time entertainment in the lobby bar was fantastic, there were three violinists who each performed separately a clarinet/sax person, a live band and every night we enjoyed the music. Weather was perfect, it rained at night while we were sleeping. Melia sprays every morning at 6 and night at 6 for mosquitoes and that is one of the reason why we switched our vacation to this resort. This is the first time here but have stayed in Melias many times. This is about our 15th trip to Santa Maria and this resort was one of the best we have stayed in.

Gran Muthu Cayo Santa Maria: Beautiful beach

I was a little concerned because the reviews leading up to our stay were so bad. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by our stay. Everything was clean, service was good, food was definitely repetitive but we always managed to stay full. Drinks were very good, bottled beer, specialty coffees etc. Pools were definitely dirty but were cleaned regularly while we were there. Beach towels were a major issue but we were told to use the room towels which we always had plenty of. Overall it was an a [... read more]mazing vacation. Definitely there’s room for improvement but overall we enjoyed our time there.

Valentin Perla Blanca: Great Resort with Minor Issues

The Bad: Resort: Check-in was frustrating as the front desk staff that work at night aren't helpful or accommodating even though we spent extra to get privilege. Our friends room had no working air and they said that they sent someone to fix it but it was not fixed. Our room had two single beds versus a king and they told us they had no other rooms left and to check back tomorrow morning. The morning staff was much friendlier and helpful, they tried to switch us to a room with a king and we  [... read more]just had to wait for it to be cleaned. They sent mechanics to fix the air in our friends room and this time the air worked. This is a party resort, it has a lot of younger adults that are loud and rowdy which got obnoxious when you are trying to sleep at night. The beach bartenders are not very friendly but i think it's because they constantly have line ups and some people are not the nicest with them (but I tried to avoid going to them as they looked annoyed when I'd ask for a water or pop, even after tipping them) The Good: Beach: the reason my husband and I vacation in Cuba; the beach was beautiful and clean. We had privilege which was great because there was always a shaded area with chairs for us. Privilege: is worth the extra cost, the lounge with better alcohol and little to no waiting for a drink was great as the lobby was always rammed. The area for the buffet was sectioned off and you always had a seat. The lobster dinner was good and it is reserved for you. You can book your a la cartes in the privilege lounge and there is no waiting in line to see the rep (often why I don't reserve a la cartes at other hotels as this takes away from beach time). A la Cartes: were okay but I was happy eating whatever I ordered as I'm not very picky with food. Keep in mind it is Cuba and the food is simple. Snack bar: was great for late night sandwiches, the tuna sandwich was my favourite. All in all I never go back to the same hotels I've visited but this was great and I would recommend

Grand Memories Santa Maria: No beer resort

The biggest dissappointment was Sunwing's decission to add stop to Saskatoon on our way there and back, which added extra 2 hours each way. Hotel run out of beer several times during our 7 days stay. They did not have clean beach towels for exchange either. Food was not great but it was expected for Cuba hotel. Beautiful beach and crystal clear water were there to compensate for everything bad. Staff is very friendly.

Dhawa Cayo Santa Maria: A place to rest

My experience at Dhawa Cayo Santa Maria was good. The resort is beautiful. The gardens are beautiful. The beach was smaller than other places but pleasant. They also include little sailboat rides which was fun. Most staff were very pleasant and helpful except the front lobby staff who were not helpful for my internet problems and a water condensation problem I had in my room. I want to give a thanks to Yoni who finally helped me and moved my room. My bathroom upon arrival was not nicely cleaned. [... read more] My ocean view room though was very nice. Make sure to visit the marina at the "market" where they have a bigger calmer beach. The music in the lobby nightly and the nightly shows were of great quality. The food was good. Desserts and breads were especially great. I went on the Remedios-Santa Clara excursion and I loved that a lot. Our tour guide Adriana was most excellent. I would recommend to try and get on her tour bus. All is all my stay was at the Dhawa was pleasant and I would go there again.
