Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Ok resort.

I thought it was ok. Not a four star. Maybe three. Rooms were in need of repair. Phone service was very poor. Staff lacked social skills towards clients. Poor attitude towards some of the issues. I.e. noise, smoking in rooms etc. Entertainment lacked sensivity towards females.

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Very Nice Resort

I would give this resort an 8 across the board, the only complaint was that our room faced the exit road out of the resort and it was noisy, So try and stay away from rooms facing the enter or exit roads in the 3 building. Delivery trucks at all hour of the night and lots of noisy motorcycles. Food was great, room was nice and clean, people that work there are very nice. I would go back to this resort again but would ask to stay away from the 3 rd building

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Not all inclusive $$$$

Pay bar only in lobby! ..arrived there at 10 am got our room at 530 pm !!!! mini bar in room 2 beers water 2 pops free.. after that $10 a day to restock !! What part of all inclusive is that? water is free ..food was excellent room was clean .grounds were well kept ..beach water brown. had a pleasent stay never will go back

Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: Good vacation

Staff were excellent, food was good pools were nice lots of lounge chairs were available although you are limited to shade at most there are not enough umbrellas for shade. Beach was dirty but they a did have a big storm before we got there. Only shade at the beach was under the beds no other shade was available. People leave their towels on the beds an never show up for hours ( we timed it one day) Lots of walking and stairs the a la cart resurants were spread out all over most were over at th [... read more]e tropical whispch was a 15 min walk there is shuttles available. Lots of golf carts which almost run u over very busy. Entertainment was agin over at the coliseum which was in horrible shape an in the middle of VIP land. Our stage in confresi was Way better not sure why they don't use it. Overall it eas a great vaca not a place i would come back to though unless i was vip as they get way more amenities.

Viva Heavens by Wyndham: Amazing resort!!

This resort was amazing!! The location was quiet with only a few resorts on the beach. Food was fantastic with unlimited a la cartes that you don’t have to make reservations for. The staff was very friendly. The amnesia suite was renovated and very roomy. We can’t say enough about the hotel and will be back.

Sunscape Puerto Plata: Amazing resort with amazing staff.

No complaints at all-rooms we’re nice,lots of hot water. great choice of places to eat with wonderful food.Can’t say enough good things about the staff-always friendly,smiling and accommodating. Very clean resort.

Riu Merengue: Alright but not best

Well we enjoyed some things at resort however there my main concern was the staff at reception found them not helpful at all, very rude and when asked to get something would take hours and hours for them to bother, had to keep calling and they still wouldn’t help us. The maid also, we had lizards in our room and she wouldn’t kill them just sprayed and left. To get another room was a lot of effort basically had to camp out at reception to get their attention. VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Great Trip!

Well, when we first arrived we were not sure of the place. It is rated a 4 star, but I would rate it 3 star at the beginning. As the week went on I did feel differently about many things! The rooms were always clean but it really could use some up grading, curtains, for sure better pillows! The food was very good at all locations. We asked for a different crib and got a much better one. It could use more unbrella’s at the pool. Always had water,pop and beer daily, clean towels daily. Close to airport, 20 minutes.

: Emotions Hotel Review

This hotel has amazing staff and service. Everyone was super friendly and warm. They would all say hi to you when you walked by or had a conversation and joked with you. We did get approached by multiple staff to upgrade our room on different days. Luckily, they weren't hard salesman and respected a no and continued getting to know you. My only wish was that the rooms were a little more soundproof. We could hear the night party every night (whether the beach or the pool) and everyone coming through the hallway. Unfortunately, this meant I had horrible sleep the entire week due to hearing the loud people going to the room after the party and the early risers with kids going for breakfast. I really enjoyed the food at most of the restaurants (I didn't go into the Mexican one for food sensitivities). Every chicken dish I had was amazing. In terms of the beach, I think they need to do a little more cleaning around the chairs. We noticed quite a bit of cigarette butts. However, the beach and water itself was amazing. There were tons of chairs and we never had to go out at the crack of dawn to get dibs on good ones. Granted, if you waited too late then there were limited chairs that had shade. There were quite a few beach vendors but I appreciated that most left you alone once you said no. Overall, we had made an impromptu trip to relax and get some sun and were happy with our choice. There are just little things that could make a big difference to make this a good hotel to a great one.

Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: Okay vacation but amenity description is deceiving..

Overall we had a great time. We were aware that there would be alot of walking so we were prepared for it. The description for our hotel said there were 9 restaurants, 4 poolside bars, 11 outdoor pools.What it does not say is that they are spread over multiple hotels within the resort. The "Lifestyles Holiday Vacation Club" caters mainly to the VIP's and you almost feel second class as you go throughout the compound as see the amenities they have access to directly beside where we were entering. [... read more] I had read in the reviews about the abundance of golf carts driving around, which was an understatement. They are everywhere all day and all night long. I was almost hit a few times and was surprised that anyone who belonged to the "club" could drive one, young, old, sober or not. i actually witnessed a driver jump the curb and hook itself to someone's scooter. The food and service we had was good and the staff were always pleasant. The beach was small and had a lot of garbage in the the water the first few days. We did not have to fight for chairs which was a nice change from other places we have travelled to. Our room and the grounds were clean. All in all when I go for vacation I want food, a clean room and a nice beach. We did enjoy our time by the pool as there are not any chairs directly on the beach and not a lot of shade. I would recommend this hotel as long as your prepared to go throughout the compound for the amenities and don't expect things to be close by. NOTE there is a shuttle that runs every 25 mins around the grounds.

Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: good resort

The staff here are amazing, yes there is a lot of stairs and walking at this resort..not for those with mobility issues!. This location is part of the Holiday Vacations umbrella and you will be approached by time share staff...but tell them to hit the road and carry on. Henry and Alejandro are amazing guys that bar-tend, and skinny from the entertainment crew is a really nice guy. We learned a lot from him about the life of a Dominican.

exceptionally clean resort very good meals at buffet a bit slow with coffee, large rooms . staff were quick to respond to complaints had to change rooms due to air conditioning malfunction Luis from sunwing did great job the beach was my favorite enjoyed the water and waves vendors responded to polite no thanks a great spot would recommend to anyone

Viva Heavens by Wyndham: lovely small resort with wonderful staff

The staff work very hard to keep the grounds neat & everything in working order, beautiful foliage, food fairly good, a la cart restaurants good, rooms clean & good size. Short walk to beach on a path beside a creek that was full of turtles & fish. Enough to do with the activity staff who were wonderful every day at pool, beach & evening entertainment. Short walk up the beach to the orange market and from the front of the resort turning left we were a 5 minute walk to the Playa Dorado shoppin [... read more]g mall. The only issue was perhaps there were not enough lounges at either pool or beach if you arrived late. Many folks were up very early to secure lounges, even though there are signs suggesting not to do this. Many lounges although with a towel on them, were empty most of the day, so we wondered if people were going back and forth from pool to beach?

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Nice small resort

Lobby and common areas were nicely maintained. 90% of the staff working there were not friendly and looked miserable, starting from the reception check-in, up until the restaurant servers and bartenders. This makes this great resort a very depressing place to be when trying to enjoy being on vacation. Been to 4 and 5 star resorts in Mexico and Cuba, and those were much more pleasant to be in. Pillows and sheets were changed daily but still smelled like wet dog. This place has great potential and I made the most of my stay, but I would not return to this particular hote due to staff attitude and energy.

Casa Marina Reef Resort: Great Resort

We arrived on March 20th around 2:00 we were shown right to our rooms.room was ok not like in the pictures but was very clean. The food was amazing,roast chicken ,ham, roasts all kinds of salad and veggies.Entertainment was so so. Drinks okay.Be careful when going to the beaches they are public so watch your stuff ,water is very ruff,we stuck to the pools.enjoyed our stay will go back when they improve the lobby,maybe bigger nicer with a coffee bar and a alcohol bar over all nice resort.

Riu Merengue: Very nice resort

Beautiful grounds, very lush. Lots of food choices. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Grounds, public restrooms and restaurants meticulously cleaned. Beautiful pools. Just two negative points: We did not have hot water most of the time and there was quite a bit of mold on the bathroom ceiling; the bathroom fan did not work. Lots of shelter on the beach but the sea was rough and red flagged every day. There was a noticeable musty smell to the room. But otherwise a very enjoyable trip.

it nice and excellent resort every thing well organized . only I can tell you the room service was not good . they didn't clean very well there was a lot of small spiders and small worms. that we killed a few every day even they didn't cleaned some of that beside or under the bed. I hope you will take care of that .I hope so.

Paradise Playa Dorada: Love this Resort!!!!

The food is always amazing on all levels, the only thing I can't stand is the ENTERTAINMENT!!!! They need to get new people for this program they are very unprofessional and they continue to speak Spanish and not everyone understands!!!! OMG do not get the Room 1014 the one bed closest to the washroom is haunted and they gave us a room with a handicap bathroom??? Riu Merengue: Definitely going back

We had the best time ever..There was always something to eat.The beach was fabulous. The staff was amazing.I loved that we could meander to the bachata resort also.We can't wait to go back.The night shows were amazing the costumes were fantastic.The rooms were immaculate..The balcony was spacious .All in all we had an amazing time.
