Resonance Blu Varadero: 1000% WOULD GO BACK!! (BEST RESORT!!)

So this was my 1st time going to cuba and honestly it was the best time ever! All the reviews on here were talking so negatively about the place and they were all wrong. People need to be reminded that they do not have the same things we have. The only down side was the wifi but other then that it was amazing. Beautiful resort and very friendly people too.

Grand Memories Varadero: Resort is run down

13 of us went to his resort last week, we had all been there 5 years ago but noticed a big difference this time. It was much dirtier this time around, the pools and decks were really dirty. You never saw anyone cleaning the pools aside from picking up garbage which by the end of the day was terrible(which is also the fault of vacationers). I really liked the staff but you could tell the entire place was suffering. The kids section had a little pool but it was always covered with empty cups a [... read more]nd garbage, our room was dirty, the pool with the water fall was really disgusting we only went once and that was it. I didn't have any trouble with the food, I can always find something in a buffet and their omelets were delicious. My kids each either had a run in with diarrhea or throwing up towards the end of the vacation, I suspect it was from drinking too much of the pool water. I really did like the staff but I won't be returning. I would rank this as more like a 2.5-3 star. I hope this helps some potential vacationers.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Lovely Resort

The resort is only 15 minutes from the airport, which is very nice particularly when flights are often very early or very late. Food at the buffet and a la carte restaurants was wonderfull, no complaints here. Other than your personal check in a late check out and a special poolside dinner, diamond club does not really add anything special to your trip. The evenings were relaxing in the lobby bar or courtyard with a wandering 3 person Cuban band playing. While most resorts have rather cheesy evening shows, the shows at Memories Flamenco were worth the watch. The rooms were clean and tidy, not what we Canadians would call 5 star but quite nice and adequate for our stay. Lots of water pressure in the shower, the toilet was a bit of a mystery at times worked perfectly other times would take for ever for the tank to fill and be ready for use, but always worked at some point. Upgrade to VIP on the way home for 25 pesos, it is worth it! No long cues at the airport, private lounge, with snacks and beverages as well as pre seating on the plane, a nice touch ending a totally relaxing vacation. This resort is definitely a family resort or for those looking to relax in a casual fun atmosphere. The only thing missing was a dance club, but after evening shows there was a shuttle to one near by. Overall this is a lovely resort, not overly priced.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Great Resort Overall

The Memories Caribe resort was terrific overall. Great rooms (the renovated ones), good food and fantastic staff. Beautiful beach. My only concern is the uneven risers on the stairs in my building. I tripped on the extra-high top steps and badly bruised both legs on my first day. They are dangerous and need to be fixed. Otherwise, everything was terrific. The resort makes an effort to ensure your stay is as good as it can be.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Nice Resort

Was there two years ago and I can't believe the difference in the beach...absolutely amazing transformation....I found the food was not as good as it was before....the rooms are nice but there are some things that need fixing....overall would recommend this resort

Memories Paraiso: Beautiful Resort!

I just recently spent a week at the Memories Sanctuary Diamond Club in Cayo Santa Maria and it was spectacular!! Everything was perfect😁 All staff were amazing, very friendly and always waiting to assist in any way possible if needed! My room was kept very clean, and on my last evening there on returning to my room to get ready for the evening meal, my butler had drawn me a beautiful bubble bath filled with fresh flowers as a goodbye surprise!! Very touching. The food was great, I was pleas [... read more]antly surprised after reading some bad reviews. And the beach was the most amazing beach I have ever seen. The water was a beautiful turquoise and the sand was like baby powder!! The pool was also beautiful, and kept very clean. There were trolleys available to take you anywheres you chose to go, to the market, etc. The grounds were kept very clean and the flowers were beautiful. There were barbecue huts poolside and on the beach with amazing food! The resort also had poolside entertainment several times a day for the guests entertainment. The only downside to my whole vacation.... is that I had to leave❤️.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: Excellent Resort

Our stay at Sanctuary at Memories was most enjoyable. The Hotel was very clean and while some construction was going on during our stay to some accommodation it did not affect our enjoyment of the place. The Beach is Fab! Very long sandy beach and great for walking along. The Pool was also very nice. The Buffet was a relatively good standard for Cuba as were the individual restaurants. It was very clean and the ground staff worked very hard to keep it like that. Did feel the night time attractions lacked somewhat and were over and done with very quickly. All in all we had a great holiday and would for sure return to this resort.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Great resort!

We had a fun time at Memories Flamenco! The location of our room was perfect ~ close to the lobby, beach and theatre. The view from our room was spectacular, overlooking the quiet pool. The maid did a good job on cleaning our room, and our fridge was restocked daily. However, we did have some issues with the AC, which was fixed within a couple of days. The service overall was great, most staff going out of their way to please you. The food at the buffet could see some improvement as it was repet [... read more]itive and not always hot. The beach was amazing, never any problem finding a lounge chair, and the entertainment during the day was great, however, the shows in the evening were just ok. Overall, we were pleased with this resort.

Memories Jibacoa: Great resort

The grounds are well kept and lots of greenery. The resort staff are very friendly and always accommodating. We especially like the balcony for dining just outside the buffet area. The food is good, perhaps a bit more selection for main dishes. The snorkling is phenomenal, when there is no red flag. Beach is good, with lots of new polapas. The rooms are a little dated, but clean. We especially like that it is mainly an over 50's crowd, much quieter and without all the partying.

Memories Jibacoa: Good snorkling

Nice hotel, small easy to get around rooms basic but clean. Good a la carts, main buffet not so much. Food not always hot, shortages, one person trying to run two stations. Great pool area, really nice beach. Lots of fish to see at the beach or swim out a bit and some really nice deep coral areas.

Grand Memories Varadero: Not what it used to be

This Resort is a 3* at most. Food was mundane. Pools were DISGUSTING! Beach Awesome. Grounds were ok. Rooms were clean but towels smelled like wet dog. Bedsheets hung out on railing. Service was AWFUL

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Great Vacation resort!

We returned from this resort on Friday April 14 early hours, and will definately be coming back one day in the future for a week to hopefully complete some of the other excursions that we were not able to complete! There are a couple of things that I think would make the resort a little more smoother to ensure everyone's enjoyment though, for example: it is impossible to get a seat at the pool as people go to the pool put their towels down on chairs and then go to breakfast and/or an excursion  [... read more]for the day and return to their reserved chairs. I think there should be a policy about this and/or some kind of reserve policy that can be done to ensure that everyone gets a chance to sit at the pool comfortably rather thank fighting for a chair just to enjoy a swim. On another note, it would be helpful to have a little better staff attention at the snack bar particularly after 10pm at night since there were a few times we had to go up to the bar to get our drinks and order our food since none of the staff were coming over and there was definately plenty of them wandering around and talking. On a happier note the buffet, and a la carte restaurants were amazing with a variety of food to please everyone's pallet. The rooms were adequate however it would have been helpful if we had gotten the king suite that we had reserved instead of the two (junior twins) we received. Being part of the diamond club we cannot say enough about the beach service as it was GREAT and we really enjoyed the atmosphere and the people were friendly that we met. There are a few things as part of the diamond club that need to be revised in your advertising as the Flamenco did not offer robes in your room as advertised etc.......but this is definately not going to stop us from coming back. A great week away, and thoroughly enjoyed the nightly entertainment especially the Michael Jackson tribute, it was amazing! Grand Memories Santa Maria: Nice resort

Everything was really good except the internet connection complete crap, super friendly and helpful staff. Beaches are beautiful to say the least. Food was good even for a picky eater like myself. All in all i would recommend.

Memories Paraiso: Resort great, Flight not so much

The resort was fantastic. The staff were always there wThen you needed something and very kind and helpful. Everything was very convenient. The grounds were beautiful and very well kept. I have never seen such a beautiful beach before. It was very well kept and there were employees that would get you anything from the bar. I would definitely go back. I just wish I didn't have to fly out of Toronto and I would not fly Air Canada Rouge but I would definitely go back to Memories Paraiso Azul [... read more].

Sol Turquesa Beach: Great resort

We had a great time at this resort, there were a lot of waking and stairs which was an inconvenience for us because we had a young child and stiller. The rooms need some updating and the bed was very uncomfortable. Other than that the food was good just little variety. There was lots to do entertainment going on. The best meal was the pool side lobster at addition cost but totally worth it.

Grand Memories Varadero: Awesome resort!

After many trips to Cuba over the years, Grand Memories was the best resort I have been to. The resort is well maintained, clean, staff were committed to ensure guests had a good time and the food was very good, lots of fresh fruit, many items prepared as you order ie eggs, omelettes, fresh fish, pastas, there were lots of delicious options. Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Nice resort

We really enjoyed this resort. Great size, spectacular beach, friendly staff and good food. Our room was a little dated but everything worked. No problem with our water or ac. Beds were a little hard and the pillows flat but we asked for and received extra pillows and got used to the bed. We don't generally nitpick anyway so we're easy to please. Grounds are well kept. We had a fun week.

Memories Jibacoa: Another fine vacation at Memories Jibacoa

This was our ninth time to the resort....consistent, quality, relaxing! Beach seems even better than we remembered. Being near those beautiful reefs we had remembered a vast but coarser sand than we were used to at other resorts, but it was much finer this time around, with the addition of new beach loungers and palapas, plenty to go around. This is a small, adults only resort on the beach...exactly the three top "must haves" for us. Usually has an older crowd, another preference for us, so it is a bit tamer than other locations. Still lots to do if you choose to do off-site excursions or participate in the many group activities on the resort. The buildings themselves are now getting a bit tired, and I would like to see more brand name liquors, but other than that, they do a very good job and give you their best. Grand Memories Varadero: Grand Memories Varadero,Cuba

Amazing resort.Grounds were beautiful,public areas very clean,washrooms very clean and always had toilet paper.Dining was awesome.White lounge chairs were uncomfortable, bring a cushion. We stayed in building 24 and we're close to the beach.Got up early (6:30 am) to reserve a cabana. Beach is beautiful.Staff are wonderful and very helpful and willing to make your stay a good one. Would go back in a heartbeat.

Memories Paraiso: a good resort, not the best one

I am a returning customer (have been 3 times in Memories Paraiso Azul). I would personally not go again with my child to this place. There is not much entertainment for the little one but the Kids club or the pool. I would say some slides or something else. . On the same topic- entertainment team is very weak, I remember in 2012 we were not able to sit for a minute: meringue class, games for children and after for the adults, aqua fitness in the water.
