Playa Pesquero: We loved this place.

We really enjoyed our vacation at Playa Pesquero. We have 2 small children, and stayed for 7 days. Yes, there are some dated facilities, but very clean and maintained well. Food is great for Cuba. Beach is amazing. Staff is the best. Our issue was with mosquitos, we had to seek medical help for our son. Also it was so hot, but we had amazing weather, so should not complain about that. We did burn, although we used all kinds of skin protection products with very high SPF. Highly recommend this  [... read more]resort. Not for those seeking luxury, as Cuba offers something different, but equally great. Viva Cuba! Can't wait to go again.

Playa Pesquero: Family vacation #3

Good resort hotel for family a family vacation staff is so wonderful! Had a very relaxing vacation! No worries about finding shade by the pool or the beach. Always found something to eat! Would go there again because the price was so right !!

Playa Costa Verde: Fantastic family resort

The Playa Costa Verde is the best Cuban Resort I have been to. The kids club offers baby sitting services to allow us to enjoy a night out. The gym was well organized allowing me a opportunity to work out throughout the vacation. The rooms were always clean and up to date. The food services were excellent with quality and quantity. We are planning a return trip very soon.

Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: A swimmer's paradise

The Blau was going through renovations and coping with the aftermath of a hurricane. It was low season so many of the usual restaurants were closed. Food was definitely down a notch. Snacks were scarce and when we finally got bananas it was a celebration. Bread was almost exclusively 'wonderfluff." Most of the fault with the food was from trying too hard to be "fancy.".....vegetables and meat hidden under oil, sauce or gravy. The salad bar was not as gussied up, but it did get tiresome [... read more] to eat raw vegetables to avoid grease. Occasionally there was simply prepared fresh steamed or baked food and it was most welcome. The hotel is changing owners and there was much speculation about what that would mean. It is difficult to know how much the transition is affecting the overall quality. That said, the staff are still warm and accommodating with very few exceptions. Rooms are standard but comfy. The beach is lovely. Fish everywhere. Wonderful swimming and lots of water toys, peddle boats, etc. I will return again when things get settled with the new management. Can't help but have fond nostalgia for the place. I have been there many times. Here is hoping.

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Amazing Staff, Resort in need of maintenance.

Stayed for a week, first night a true nightmare as the AC didn`t work properly. After several visits from the maintenance crew and no improvements, we were finally transferred to another luxury suite. Totally blasted though with our last night at the Royal Service section of the Resort. What a stunning room with ocean view and a superb bathroom area. The REAL Gem here though is their staff, kudos to my fellow Cubans! ps. Paradisus Rio De Oro: Beautiful resort!

The Paradisus was overall the best resort of the many we have stayed at in Cuba. The rooms were spacious, nicely decorated and extremely clean. The grounds were very well-maintained and beautifully landscaped. The beach was a bit rocky at entry but soon became white sand and aqua blue water with coral reef here and there making it perfect for shore snorkeling. The staff were always smiling and very helpful. We hope to return.

Brisas Guardalavaca: Great holiday

Beautiful beach, nice pool with lots of different entertainment each night! Friendly staff! Food was alright and only one type of beer but overall a fair amount of options. Would recommend for family and couples

Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: Resort ok

Went to this resort for the 4th time the staff are still the best We noticed that the management is not be able to keep the supplys for the staff not enough glasses no straws spoons and the evening settings for dinner were not as good rooms are starting to run down more

Paradisus Rio De Oro: amazng resort

the Paradisus Rio De Oro was just amazing the grounds are beautiful food was amazing. the rooms are spacious and clean. the only negative things were the swimming pool was very dirty and not much selection of specialty drinks at the bars. would highly recommend the resort amazing place.

Don Lino Hotel: Best vacation resort

The hotel or the resort is a nice place to spend your vacation. There are 3 beaches that you can use. Beach or playa don lino, on the right hand side is the playa military, the third beach is proximate to the resort and it is called playa Blanca. The 4th beach that you can go is beach Bariay bay described by Chris Columbus in 1492 as the world's most beautiful sunset. Compare this resort to the other resort in holguin, the beautiful immense or vast carpet green ranches are another world"most bea [... read more]utiful sceneries to behold by human eyes. Clients of other hotels can't see these spectacular sceneries. The group singer at donlino are the best group singer in the entire island of Cuba. Their version of Spanish popular songs are far better than those Spanish songs uploaded on you tube.com. I have been to cuba for many times and I can honestly say that the group singers at don lino are the best. I like the beef that this hotel serves to their customers. I too like the generosity or attitude of snack bar attendants. Given the chance I will definitely come back to this hotel. For the price that I paid to this hotel I got what I had paid for and enjoyed my stay at don lino it is the best.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: An excellent resort

This was our thrid vacation to this Club Amigo. We enjoy this resort. The staff are awesome, its clean. The best rooms are the Villas in our opinion. The coral reef is within swimming distance from the beach. 4 pools to choose from. We also really like the location in Guardalavaca and the excursion are all great as well.

Brisas Guardalavaca: As Expected

The resort is a solid 3 star. Rooms are old and worn. Food is satisfactory. You won’t starve but leave your healthy eating habits at home. They try hard. We arrived shortly after Hurricane Irma. Everything was cleaned up and working.

Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: Love this resort

This resort has been renovated and it's modern and relaxing with good service each morning and throughout the day. Food was above my expectation and the people are friendly, easy to talk to. I would recommend this resort to families as it has something for everyone.

Don Lino Hotel: A nice relaxing resort for an older crowd.

I read a lot of the negative reviews here before deciding to take a chance on this one. Suffice to say, I was pleasantly surprise. I booked for one week in the first week of Sept, 2017, but stayed only 3.5 days as I was evacuated out due to Hurricane Irma. Rooms: Pros: Clean and habitable with hot water. Just don't expect the Ritz; Expect the same as if you are in a roadside no-name brand motel. Try to stay in the standard room by the pool if you can. They are more modern and open. Con [... read more]s: Older, no fridge in all rooms, and some rooms are missing the controller for the A/C unit. Also the TV is an older model and may not get all channels like CNN. Food/Restaurant Pros: The same as you will find in all Cuban resorts (i.e. chicken, pork, fruits, pasta) but the taste is above average and not as bland as in some other Cuban resorts. The staff and service was excellent and made up for the lack of variety. A lot of the staff are actually young students in training. Cons: Nothing of significance noted. Bars: Pros: 24 hour service and snack bar. Bartenders were courteous Cons: No Havana Club rum. Beer sometime flat and week. Reception: Pros: Polite and professional. Cons: Could not get change for CUC on one occasion during my week's stay. Pool: Pro: Cleaned daily. Cons: Too small for all the guests, especially when the locals arrive to visit; No swim up bar, not enough tables and recliners (again, especially when the locals visit). Entertainment: Pro: Bikes to borrow. Pool table. Local bands. Water ballet, but due to hurricane I left early so did not see it. Cons: Did not note any dance lessons nor poolside games like other resorts, but this is not a deal breaker as the guests appear to be regulars and were of an older crowd. Overall; I will be happy to return. FYI: If you're single and looking for company, you better bring your own date as this resort is certainly not a party place. But if you just want to lay back and enjoy the beach, read a few books, do some studying, and mingle with an older crowd, this place is for you. The closest biggest town is 8km away, quite small, and there is no disco there and it will he hard to find a 'date'. Sorry to disappoint all you single guys.

Playa Pesquero: NICE TRIP BEFORE HURRICANE IRMA

Hotel playa pesquero is nice and clean. The beach is nice on some parts of the resort. The left side is full of rocks. The rooms are well kept. The pools need to be clean better. Too much junk floating in the bottom. The food was the best I ever hate at Cuba. The hotel itself his a good 4 star for Cuba. I was farley impress. Some of the staff needs to be more happy if they want more tip. Has for Cubana Airlines, let's just say it was awful. Never again!!! Paradisus Rio De Oro: Real paradise

I had a great stay at this hotel. I upgraded my room to oceanview, which was the best disicion. Everyone is very friendly and go out of their way to make you happy. I traveled alone, I was tolled that its couples resort and that I might not like it. But I still ended up having a great time. I had a massage at a spa, and spend the entire day using the spa facility. The beach on the spa side is breath taking. The food was great. Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: My favorite resirt

This is my fourth time at Club Amigo, for the price it is a great resort!! I enjoy mixing with the locals at the two bars beside the resort. The resort itself could use some upgrades / renos but still in fairly good shape. Staff are nice and friendly, most speak some English. Lady in the lobby store (she is the wife of a very nice bar tender at the lobby bar) she was the only unfriendly person I have ever met in the whole of Cuba. I will be back again next year :-)

Playa Pesquero: Mediocre

In sum, the resort is nice (if you like big resorts). ROOMS are outdated and crawling with ants. we paid extra for superior plus rooms & were told we would be close to everything, we were farther than the regular rooms and had to walk forever to get anywhere. FOOD was awful, not even salad bar with lettuce... BEACH to die for:) WORKERS were great! OVERALL would not go back.
