Occidental Punta Cana: Average hotel

Great beach. Hotel was average and needs some improvements. Building 22 was dated and needs some renovations. Food was average at buffet not great. Drinks were not very impressive. Too many sales people on resort and beach which was very annoying. Many locals staying in hotel on weekends which made it very busy. Not enough shade huts/ gazebos around pool and in beach area. Servers were not very friendly and at hotel bar were just rude. Lack of servers at most bars and therefore extensive wait to [... read more] be served. Most likely if I spoke Spanish I would have had better service. This hotel is a 3 star in my opinion and I would not recommend it.

Grand Sirenis Punta Cana Resort: Good resort

We were a group of 21 people . Reservations in the restaurants were done always requested tables for all of us. Italian restaurant was not flexible with our accommodations even that we had a birthday to be celebrated . Overall service at the main loby bar was awful from the point of you didnt want to order any drink because of attitude of ladies working there. Not all of them were unpleasant ,certain ladies had a marvellous smile on their faces . After all it was a pleasurable vacation for all of us because we had to adapt with whatever was offered to us.

Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro: Wonderful vacation

We liked it all. Wonderful a la carte restaurants.staff very friendly, great location. No wait to check in. Beach and pools excellent. I read some of the negative reviews and while they may have been true our experience was totally different.

Grand Sirenis Punta Cana Resort: An overall ok experience

There's much to like about Grand Sirenis. The grounds are well maintained and quite beautiful. The beach is awesome, with lots of reef to explore and swim in. The pool area is great. Our family suite room setup was well laid out. The wifi is great throughout the resort. There is ample access to food (even if that food is not always the greatest). However, our stay was marred by a few key areas: 1) Our check-in was miserable. We arrived around 30 minutes before rooms were to be ready (no p [... read more]roblem!) so we walked around the grounds a little bit and then came back. We then waited in line for 30 minutes more because several large groups had arrived and there was insufficient staffing to help us. The very friendly lady at the check-in called housekeeping to check about our room and eventually we got our room. The room itself is nice! The AC and fans worked well. But our beds were NOT made up. I had no indication whether they had just not finished, or whether they were from previous guests, so we did not use them. It took us over 6 (SIX) hours and several phone calls and front desk visits before they finally made up our room. We had been up since 4am and it was now 9:45pm and we were exhausted and miserable. Not a good start. 2) Connected to the above, housekeeping did not stay on top of replenishing our water and towels. It was hit or miss whether we would even get water. The towels we can manage, but water? Not so much. It just seems like they were not well-equipped for everyone. 3) The food is ample, but some of the prepared dishes were not great. The A La Carte restaurants were...fine. It felt like they did a sub-par job of approximating that style of food. Sometimes they just made odd choices. Canned tuna in sushi?! In the "Route 66" American-style restaurant, their onion rings were quite good, but came with a flavourless and liquidy "sauce" - I think they meant to make an aioli or something? It was weird. 4) Lastly, the waterpark is in desperate need of a makeover. The staff were often borderline sleeping on the job and some of the slides were closed, and others seemed honestly a bit unsafe. The paint on some of them is chipping off. The stairs to the slides seem a little unsteady. Truly we still had a great week away, even in spite of these issues. It was our daughter's first big trip and she had a blast and does not really care about or notice these things. But I'm not sure I'd go again.

The hotel was all I could ask for! Amazing hotel, beautiful beach, friendly staff! Everything you need in an all-inclusive was done perfectly here! I’m definitely referring this location to all my friends!

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: A GREAT PLACE TO BE

Me and my fiance booked our trip at this resort and for our first time it couldn't have been any better we absolutely loved the drinks the food the hotel was beautiful the room was absolutely amazing and always clean bar fridge was always stalked no complaints at all we highly recommend this beautiful resort we would definitely do this again.

JOIA Bavaro by Iberostar: Beautiful resort

Resort is beautiful, very clean and well maintained. Staff are very pleasant and service was excellent. Food ranges from average to excellent depending on restaurant. Pool area and beach were beautiful.

Royalton Punta Cana Resort: Amazing resort

Everything about the resort was amazing. Food, entertainment beach services. Modesto from entertainment team was amazing. All the members of entertainment team went all out to make sure we were enjoying our stay. My only negative was room service. First night we arrived late and ordered something to eat and were told about 30 min wait and we waited 2 hours and when we got the food the order was not the right one. Other that that we were totally satisfied and would recommend this resort .

Ocean El Faro: Good vacation if you purchase privilege class

Good hotel and food options if you can get a reservation. Restaurants are hard to book and can be frustrating to arrange as it takes alot of negotiation and waiting in lines to get a reservation or waiting in line for first come first served. I would say don't waste your valuable vacation time doing this but the buffet gets repetitive and a change of restaurants is appreciated. The only option you should consider here or any h10 ocean chain resorts is their privilege class. If you came f [... read more]or an all inclusive with no stress, then don't book a non-privilege vacation and feel like a second class citizen being denied restaurant bookings and what they think is top tier liquor.

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Huge resort with lots to do!

The hotel itself was really nice and in proximity to all you need to enjoy a nice vacation, no matter if it's to party, relax or just taking advantage of the weather. By staying in one of the Bahia Principe resort, you have access to all the other ones as well so there's a loooooot to do: theater, shows, dance clubs, karaoke, sports bars, different restaurants, cocktails and, of course the amazing oceanside beach - all included for you to go through and test it all out. Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Luxury resort

This was our second visit. It was a group of 15 people. Kevin was very helpful by keeping us all together. He was accessible anytime of the day to address all of my concerns. He is my agent for all future trips. This time the service was 100% better. We had free valet park and fly. There was a visible Air Canada agent in the airport. The service at the resort improved too. The only problem was the wifi was poor unless you were in your room. They provide entertainment all day and till 11pm in the night. There is also a separate section on the beach for Aquamarine. The sports bar was amazing. You can keep up with the games. Food was amazing. Lots of variety. If someone is not happy about the selection, they are the problem! There is something for everyone at the buffet. Staff is very helpful. I would recommend they update the television quality..very grainy, difficult to see anything.

Bahia Principe Explore Legend: Great Resort!

Hotel was lovely- neat, clean, well kept. However, I did pay for the Castle View but wasn't in front of the castle where I would be able to see the castle shows they had every night. It also started very late after my daughter was asleep.

Riu Republica: Great vacation

Overall, we’d rate this place 4 out of 5. We arrived at reception and Dennis asked if we’d prefer a room by the beach or the pool. That was a first. Very nice!! Rooms are a bit dated but they are large and kept very clean. Balconies are large too. We were on the 1st floor so easy to go up and down the stairs. The beach is beautiful but being on the Atlantic side, the waves/undercurrent are rough. We’re beach people so, for me, that was difficult. I got thrashed underneath a number of times so ended up settling for swimming in the pools. The resort is humongous with a massive slide area. Yep!! For adults. Quite fun. Staff are friendly and if there are any issues, they are quick to react. My hair dryer broke but within an hour, it was replaced. That’s pretty good. Housekeeping work hard, so bring toiletries and tip them well. Same with food and beverages…tip these folks well. They deserve it.

This resort was mediocre at best! It is no where near a 4-5 star!! The main pool by the beach was closed for renovations and we were never informed by anyone when or after we booked. The service was not great, the pool bar ran out of stuff daily. No frozen drinks either! The pool was scummy and cloudy on most days. The beach was way over crowded so much so that the beach chairs were lined up touching each other! A huge disappointment for our entire group and a waste of $4000! Barcelo Bavaro Beach: Beautiful resort

Back from The Beach on Friday. Resort was great overall…beach beautiful, pool luscious, food delicious, service awesome. There should be some/any shade on the beach! As someone with serious mobility issues, the premium service was not worth the extra $$$, as most ala cartes were over at the massive Palace. Would be worth it for the young mobiles. Wondering… The Toronto airport security people totally destroyed my suitcase cover and wrecked my suitcase, by cutting off the zipper tabs. I ca [... read more]n only open my suitcase with pliers (which I’m sure aren’t allowed in my carry on), plus cannot be locked. Do I have any recourse for reimbursement of the damages?

Barcelo Bavaro Beach: Decent food

Overall the resort was nice, the buffets were kept clean and people seemed to use the utinsils in a good manner. The A Le Cartes were very good except for the mass confusion of who ordered what ( we did have 9 people in our group) water and wine was topped up regularly and the food was presented well and good flavour. The housekeeping needs improvement many times they took the towels away but never gave new ones, and don’t leave your Advil out in the counter or it will disappear. Barcelo Bavaro Beach: Rooms left to be desired

Grounds were great. Room itself had a leaky shower that soaked the bathroom floor. Toilet that ran forever. Never stocked hand towels. It was clean though. Pool was fantastic. Not so many friendly staff.

Grand Sirenis Punta Cana Resort: Would not recommend

Our stay at this hotel was honestly not the best. On our first night they had given us 2 double beds and instead of the king we had requested. We finally got our room at 1am. We found a cockroach in our room as well in the washroom of the hotel by the pool bar. They had not soaps the first day. Although the resort is kid friendly they do not allow kids to play recreation activities. such as beach volleyball or water volleyball as they said it was a risk to play with adults. My daughter is 12. 5â [... read more]€4 and plays rep volleyball. There were many complaints about this as this is the reason we chose this resort. Another downside to this resort is the pressure to biting the VIP package. They will call you and if you don’t answer will show up at your door trying to get u to come to breakfast to discuss the pro large with VIP I will say the beach, pool and al a cart restaurants were wonderful.

TRS Turquesa: Big resort

Actual adult section not overly big ,but most of the decent restaurants were over at paladium area , shuttle will take u . Resort is beautiful and well kept , loads of pools n bars , def drinks were top shelf but the buffet was limited although u could order off menu , smart phone to scan it . Language was an issue as too many front line services didn’t understand English well .
