Sol Palmeras: Spectacular Resort!

This is not our first visit to this resort and it won't be our last. We keep returning because it is very safe and comfortable. The food is good and varied and is dependant on what food is available in the country. The rooms are well kept and clean notwithstanding the hotel is under partial renovation currently. Even though our area was having some minor renovations, it was never any bother for us. The grounds are kept pristine and workers are constantly grooming the landscape. The pools an [... read more]d pool area is clean and well maintained. Veradero beach can't be beat! We spent many hours walking on its sandy shores. Our most important reason for returning to Sol Palmeras would have to be because of the wonderful staff. They are the friendliest, kindest and most accommodating and will help with any situation. We have made friends with many staff and some have become like family. We would definitely recommend this family friendly resort.

Sanctuary White Sands: Best Beach Ever

Rooms are very spacious. Our room overlooked the beautiful landscaped property that included the large pool and view of the ocean. Buffet had ample supply of food and 6 out of 8 days we had fresh eggs for breakfast. Twice during our stay we had roasted pig (great). Cappacinos in the lobby were super. Only negatives; shortage of small (500ml) water bottles BUT you could always get 're-fillable' drinking water at the lobby bar. Your room refrigerator was NOT stocked daily with either beer or water [... read more]. Ours was stocked once during our 8 day stay. Plenty of beer and water at all bars. Cleanliness of rooms need to improve in order to attain a 4 star plus status. Electrical convertors not necessary since most outlets were 110 plus they had USB outlets in your room. Fantastic beach and no shortage of loungers. Best animation team ever especially Jimmy, Kelly and Ray who ALL worked their butts off to help you enjoy your vacation. I loved the 10.00 am beach stretching class. All staff that we encountered were amazing.

Starfish Jibacoa: 14 times and counting

continuing improvements at this resort as they are always upgrading the grounds and buildings. the staff is what makes this resort the place for us as they treat you like family. NOT for party goers as we come here to relax and enjoy the beautiful landscape and well as the ocean. the food is plentiful

Starfish Varadero: Good Resort

Overall, it was great, but some of the hospitality staff was ignorant and cranky. Resort was clean and never ran out of anything. I wouldn't suggest taking time out of your day to book with the A la Carte, Spoons, it was terrible. Buffet has it beat hands down. We stayed in a Bungalow, it was nice. Others aren't as nice but we got lucky. I can't speak of the standard rooms. Don't exchange your money with the lady on the bus from the airport to resort, she will rip you off.

Valentin Cayo Cruz: Nice resort

The grounds were nice. The staff went out of there way to help. The food shortage is a problem but always found something, no eggs bread run out of pop. Cleaning staff was ok only problem towels were hardly changed always hot water. Beautiful views throughout the resort. There is a lot of stairs so may cause problems if motility issues.

the service was excellent was a wonderful resort and would go back treated very good price was great could not ask for anything more overall great people were wonderful rooms very nice and big and clean

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Stay home!!

This hotel is possibly the worse place we have ever stayed. They ran out of everything, except for the alegance part, they had food and alcohol.. 23 chairs around the pool for the guests. Not nearly enough. Guests were stuck sitting or laying on towels on the concrete. Rooms had no ac, fridges that even when turned way down froze anything put in it. Beds were uncomfortable and there were no clean towels or toilet paper most of our stay. The rooms were cleaned once in awhile. They were short staf [... read more]fed all over the resort. The staff in the buffet ignored guests requests for basics like water, utensils, glasses etc. We arrived at 10 am and knowing ahead of time that our room wouldn't be ready till 4, we relaxed and waited, and waited and waited. We didn't get our rooms till 730 at night. We were exhausted. There was no explanation given. The WIFI will cut out continuely and you will gave to sign back in each and every time. The beach! This is possibly the worse part of the hotel. It's almost non existent. What there is, is on a slant, to the left is full of coral and to the right is covered in seaweed. It was never once cleaned. It certainly doesn't stand up to the standards of Varadero Beach. The activities people aren't around much. Neither are the gardeners. The grass was crazy long and the blossoms from the flowering trees were left to lay on sidewalks the entire time we were there. No one bothered to clean up at all. This hotel is gorgeous, the grounds are lovely and it is the only reason I'd give this resort a 1 star. Even the coffee bar ran out of coffee more times than we could count. We all understand the shortage issues and we were ready to accept these problems. But when part of the resort has eggs, bacon, cheese, vodka etc, and the other part doesn't? Then shortages aren't the problem. Other guests at other resorts reported no shortages at all. My husband had to go behind the grill one morning to heat up his cold food (i ate toast every morning), not a single employee stopped him, in fact, one of them told him rather than reaching over, just walk around. I was sure he was going to get into trouble, but after waiting over 45 minutes (and constantly being told "uno momento), his patience ran out and he took matters into his own hands. His breakfast that morning was finally hot. The buffet was just sparce and cold. We've been to Cuba over 40 times . We started traveling there in the 80's. Before Cuba was a real tourist attraction. This hotel doesn't even come close to those days...back in the 80's Cuba was just learning the tourist trade. Save your money, or spend it elsewhere. Stay away from this resort.

We have been going to the same resort now for 15 years and this was the best week ever. First time back since Covid and there has been many changes at the resort. It is more accessible for disable people as they have put in ramps. The grounds have been renovated and looks amazing. The workers are amazing and very helpful. As for food there was lots and a great variety to choose from. Looking forward to going back next year.

It is more accessible for disable people as they have put in ramps. The grounds have been renovated and looks amazing. The workers are amazing and very helpful. Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Fantastic Vacation!

Our first time at this resort, not our first time in Cuba and we were impressed. Despite the shortages and issue they are dealing with, we had everything we needed to enjoy the week. Plenty of food, we took spices and condiments. Lots of great drinks and COLD beer! We’ve never been to anything higher than 3 star so we were definitely impressed and will be back to Cuba!

Grand Memories Santa Maria: good

Since I found that Cuba was given alot of poor reviews, I thought the stay at Grand Memories was good for the price. I would go back again if I had a lean budget. The service was very good, the housekeeping was very good, the people were very helpful, and courteous. The entertainment was good. I would of liked to have the opportunity to dance more. Overall I would rank it good.

Memories Jibacoa: Late March getaway

This resort is amazing easy to walk through beautiful beach, snorkelling right off the beach the staff you can’t find any better. I really didn’t want to break this beat review because I don’t want everybody going to my resort room a bit dated, but we only sleep in there and shower and their beds are comfy, the food is really good for Cuba. They al [... read more]ways have activities around the pool Aqua fitness, bingo, rum, tastings Spanish lessons, dance lessons, and yoga. This is not a resort for young people. It is quiet and so serene.

Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Sea Cruise

Hi, our trip overall was pleasant and enjoyable. I did have one issue. We booked the following Catamaran Cruise: Crucero del Sol (https://www.cayosantamaria.info/excursion_catamarancruise.html) Shortly after leaving the marina, the catamaran crew asked all smoking passengers on the catamaran to put their cigarette butts into a plastic bucket filled with some water. Several people were smoking throughout the cruise. Most smokers put their butts into the bucket. We we arrived back at the Del [... read more]finario (dolphinarium) later in the afternoon. I was the last one to leave the catamaran. As I started walking down the dock, I looked back and seen on of the crew members dump the bucket full of cigarette butts into the ocean where the catamaran was docked. I walked back very upset and asked them why they did that and explained that the cigarette butts are made of plastic and they are polluting the ocean with plastic waste. The crew member started talking in Spanish and looking back and talking to the other crew members, who also were saying things in Spanish, which I did not understand. None of them acknowledged that what they did was wrong or apologized. I suspect this is happening constantly and quite likely not just by the crew of the catamaran I was on, but the other catamaran's offering the cruise as well. I also saw a few passengers that just flicked their butts overboard into the ocean. Throwing cigarette butts into the ocean is completely unacceptable and I am not proud of being part of a tourist activity that partakes in such blatant pollution of the ocean. A clean, ecologically healthy, and beautiful ocean is what Cuban people rely on for revenue and what helps to attract and support tourism in Cuba. Please do what you can to investigate this and put measures in place to stop Catamaran Cruise - Crucero del Sol crew members and passengers from throwing cigarette butts in the ocean. Muthu Playa Varadero: Good resort

I like the location and grounds which are kept in good condition. The rooms are good looking with adequate furniture. I had to switch the room because there was no hot water for shower and the toilet did not have adequate water flow to flush after use. My group of 8 people are from India and we found the food plain with only salt and oil. There was no way to spice up the food. The management could not arrange for some kind of chilli, pickle, chatney etc. As a result my room mate lived on omlate  [... read more]and milk for breakfast and ice cream ( up to 6-8 scoops) at lunch and dinner. We could not sleep till late because my room mate had to be there as soon as the doors open for breakfast. My room mate was very unhappy and wanted to return to Canada but stayed and endured at my request. The group felt sorry for him. We also experienced shortage of drinking water in the room. We resorted to reuse our empty plastic water bottles by filling them at the bar or had to drink more beer. At one point the bar was also closed because they ran out of plastic glasses at the bar. The activities, games, dancing and shows etc. were nice, organised and enjoyable. Please consider improving the items l have outlined above, particularly the food related issue which can easily be remedied by providing bottled chutney, pickle etc. Please note that the food is an important part of being on a vacation. Sorry that l can not recommend at this time as me and my room mate did not have the experience we expected. I do like the resort and it's settings. I also liked the staff as they tried to accomodate our needs. Also please note that the elevators, hallways and rooms could be cleaned better.

Grand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort: Nice Resort

We went there as six people. The grounds and the hotel itself are amazing. The staff works so hard and it is so clean at all times. Me and my husband had requested a king size bed with an adjoining room for our granddaughters. When we got there, my husband and I had two double beds instead of one king, and someone else had been booked in between us and the granddaughters. It wasn’t some thing that ruined our vacation as the people they had booked in between us was the other couple we had travell [... read more]ed with, even though the hotel did not know that. Aside from those mistakes, we had an amazing time at this resort. The biggest problem was the other guests and the reserving of chairs both at the beach and at the pool. I was told by another guest that you had to be up at 4 AM to get a chair at the beach. That doesn’t seem right when you are on vacation. There needs to be a better system put in place.

Grand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort: Nice place

The workers are great. Still lacking varieties of food options and decent entertainment . The beach is nice and the place is clean. It's far from any attractions if you are looking for excursions or a close by town to visit.

Grand Memories Varadero: Great time

I was very pleased with my trip overall. It was difficult as the main pool was closed down for a full+ day. But we enjoyed the quiet pool and the beach during those times. Staff were amazingly friendly and helpful. We had cold water in the shower, but hey!.

Memories Cayo Largo: NIce resort

The resort is old but the staff work hard to maintain the grounds and facilities. The housekeeping is excellent. The control of insects is poor. The difficulties with supplies make it difficult but the staff are the very best

Grand Memories Cayo Largo: Cayo Largo

The hotel Memories itself was ok. Comfortable. Maid service was Hit and miss. We asked for extra toilet paper because my husband was sick. And were told no. Room was clean. Food was worse than terrible. Worse we’ve ever seen or had. Ran out of most foods. Bread. Beer. Wine. No selection of food. Millions and millions of mosquitoes every nite. Didn’t even see one show after dinner. Couldn’t stay outside without getting eating alive. Flight delays on departure was not communicated to us till too [... read more] late. We had booked our seats with Elite plus as we always do. We were bumped from our seats. Both going and coming back. Not appreciated. First time this has ever happened. If we wanted a different seat we would have booked those seats.

Hotel Rancho Luna: Same good times!.

Well, we have just completed our 3rd trip to Rancho Luna since November of 2023. Pleased to say that all our expectations were met as usual. The food was adequate as was the beer except for running out only for a short time, but that was over a 2 week span. Staff and service were excellent as always. Can't wait to return again in November of 2024
