Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro: Great family vacation.
This is our 4th time at this resort and we thoroughly enjoyed it. As the beach is very busy, we spent most of our time at the pool which works well for families, and it was never over crowded. This is a huge resort and unless you are an avid walker, you must utilize the trollies if you want to go to the buffet or the beach. The trollies are run frequently so we were able to catch a lift any time we needed it.
The Garden Grill Steak House and the Italian restaurant Carpaccio's are very good. [... read more]The buffet was also very good especially the Gala night where we enjoyed crab, shrimp, beef wellington, stuffed chicken breasts and glazed pork loin. The breakfasts are also very good at the buffet. We split our lunches between the beach restaurant and the buffet and both were great.

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Amazing beach and resort!
This was my second visit to this resort , my son was married there 3 years ago, and we returned because of our experience in 2016. This resort is soooooo clean, the staff are amazing and constantly cleaning and maintaining the resort and grounds. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. My favorite part is the beach! There is a breakwater a distance out and it breaks the waves as they come in so that the swimming area is calm and smooth like bath water most of the time. There are corral ree[... read more]fs close to the beach for those that want to snorkel, which is home to tropical fish. The food is some of the best I have experienced at an all inclusive. Our over all experience was Excellent and hopefully I will return again.
beautiful resort, staff lovely and polite
very clean, bathrooms by pool, cleaned constantly
grounds - immaculate, beautiful landscaping
food - very good, no complaints except I gained weight
both buffet and a la cart restaurants - food and service was wonderful
well decorated, plenty to do if you wanted to be busy, or to relax
beach well taken care of
I would definitely go back
Shout out to Tsunami, Cornelio, Felix, Santo & Hector!!! GREAT JOB!!!

Bahia Principe Escape Samana: Fantastic Resort
This resort was exactly what we were looking for. A quiet week away to relax and be spoiled. The views are absolutely beautiful the pictures don’t do this place justice. The room was spacious comfortable and the maid service excellent as always. The main buffet always was well stocked and many selections. The a la cartes were also amazing. The staff here bent over backwards to be sure we were satisfied. We will be coming back!!

Cayo Levantado Resort: Beautiful Resort
If you are looking for a quite relaxing beautiful setting on a private rainforest Island then this is the place to go. Grounds well kept, rooms very spacious especially the Deluxe suites, A la carte restaurants nice and the food and service staff excellent. Even though this is now a family resort there is not a lot for the kids. More geared to adults wanting to relax. Overall we felt it was great value for the cost and we were able to overlook the fact that the A/C was not working the week w[... read more]e were there.

This hotel was fantastic.
The rooms were large and very clean with a separate shower and Jacuzzi tub.
Maid service was excellent, they even had a turn down call at night where they left little chocolates on your bed.
The entertainment staff were awesome always something going on at the pool.
The restaurants were excellent I never had a bad meal the whole time I was there from buffet to booking a gourmet restaurant at night.
The beach was very clean and well maintained.
Entertainment in th[... read more]e evening was also very good.
I really don't have anything bad to say about this resort.

Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro: Amazing resort
This was my boyfriend and I first trip together and also celebrated his birthday there which the resport had a birthdat banner on the door when we arrived and on his birthday they had brought a bottle of champagne and a fruit basket to our room also at dinner we had another bottle of champagne at our table and had 4 staff members, and sing to him.
This reposrt is beautiful a 10, the grounds are so well kept daily they are even moping the walkways and cleaning the gardens everyday. The foo[... read more]d was amazing in the la cart and buffet, our favorite was a Japanese it's a must. Drinks were pretty good lot to choice from. Entertainment was good always had 3 shows a day morning evening and night time in the village, also liked they had a casino, shops, karaoke bar, sport bar for the hockey games and a disco in the village as well. The beach was breath taking and they were on top of cleaning up the seaweed every morning. The pool was great, pool bars as well, we stayed mostly on the beach or the pool by the beach. Our room request was honored which was fantastic as we wanted to be close to the beach. Staff were always nice and welcoming.
I could go on... and on...
Over all this is a fabulous resport that I would recommend to anyone, we will definitely be going back and already talking about the next trip
Thank you Grand Bahis Principia Bavaro for making our first trip together one we will always remember

Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: Great week in LaRomana
What a week! From start to finish everything was great:
-delicious food from buffet for breakfast and lunch and a la carte every night with a reservation for 8 people ( no problem for that)
-we got our oceanfront room on ground floor on a corner unit, very big room and patio; close to pool and ocean
-easy transfer, check in and check out; since we had a late departure we were able to get another room for 25$ as we wanted to enjoy our last day
-beautiful sandy beach and a little walk on both[... read more] sides of resort; ocean water was beautiful too!
And of course the people were great and friendly! Thanks for a wonderful vacation at Luxury Bahia Bouganville!
This resort is exactly as the pictures show. The rooms are large and very clean. The restaurants were excellent and the buffets had a good variety.
Easy to find chairs at both pools and the beach. The staff at the buffets were a little disorganized and it often took quite a while to get a drink. Room service had a good menu and prompt in delivering the food. We had a few issues with the housekeeping dept, but a quick call to the concierge and the situation was rectified.

Bahia Principe Explore La Romana: Horrendous accomodations
To whomever it may concern,Â
We are writing a formal complaint to you regarding a recent stay at the Grand Bahia Principe La Romana resort.Â
We began with a very delayed flight from Toronto Pearson Airport to Santo Domingo. After another lengthy delay waiting on the shuttle bus, we finally made it to the resort. Check in was smooth and we got to our room quite quickly without any trouble. Being greeted by a non-functioning and infested room though, was unacceptable, given the pricey $160[... read more]0 we each paid for the trip.Â
Upon stepping into the room and looking around, things were clean and in order, but we did notice the drinks in the fridge were warm, and the room did not feel as though the air conditioning was on the highest level which we ensured it was. Hoping the air would continue to cool, we attempted to use our safe to lock our personal items prior to leaving the room.Â
There were no instructions on or in the safe, and the knob on the door of it was almost broken. We left it for the night, deciding to ask someone to help us in the morning with it. An Air Transat rep gave instructions the next day for the use of it, which worked but the safe was still difficult to use due to the door knob being broken.Â
Over the week we noticed there to be a lot of mosquitoes in the suite, likely due to the humidity from the faulty air conditioner. We did not think it was abnormal until we talked to our friends a few days in to our stay. They were on the other side of the resort, and they claimed to have no bites and no mosquitoes in their functioning rooms.Â
We called the concierge desk on day 3 regarding the warm drinks in the fridge. We reached an employee who told us they would send someone to check out the fridge right away. No one showed up to our suite. We called later that night and the next day about it, no answer. No one showed to fix it during the week.Â
Day 4 we were in bed at a reasonable time, just after 11pm. Our neighboring guests were loud, obnoxious and screaming very very loudly. This went on for approximately 45 minutes to an hour. We called the concierge desk but no one answered. This went off and on the rest of the night.Â
Day 5, we noticed while using the bathroom that a few drops of water were dripping from the ceiling above the toilet. Thinking it was from the condensation from using the shower, we ignored it. This continued to day 6 even without any condensation from the shower being used. Knowing the lack of customer service we got from our previous complaints, we decided against making another complaint and left it alone as there was only one day left.Â
The final issue came on the last morning, day 7. Waking up around 9:30am, myself (Amanda) walked toward the front hallway of the suite to use the bathroom. Just as I reached where the AC vent was located, I slipped in a massive puddle of water, thankfully only getting a minor bruise to my knee. The hallway floor had flooded and water had been leaking through the ceiling where the AC was located, down the walls and creating a large puddle across the hallway. We were absolutely appalled at how this could happen and immediately placed a towel over the area to walk through and went up to the concierge desk in person to get an explanation and to clean up the room as we only had a few hours before check out.Â
At about 10am, we went to the desk and was greeted by a woman who, once we explained everything that we had been through during our stay, showed very little empathy towards our situation. We showed her a video of the damaged suite and she told us she would send a manager right away to our room. She proceeded to tell us because of the infestation in the room she wanted us out of it for at least 2 hours to “fumigateâ€. Reminding her it was our final day here, we told her we could not do that as we needed to check out by 12pm. We asked for a later check out to accommodate us as it seemed to be the least she could do considering the mess we had been dealing with. She denied our request, telling us that she needed to ensure the room was ready for the next guests, making us appear insignificant to her. Frustrated, we left the front desk and returned to our room to find no manager there let alone any one to check the leak we had showed her on the video. Finally, a cleaning lady knocked on our door and was quite alarmed at the water pooled on the floor. She replaced two towels down, and left. We proceeded to pack our things, and waited until 12pm to leave and check out. In those few hour between us filing the complaint and her telling us a manager would be there, not a single other employee showed up to our room.Â
We find this an unacceptable way to treat your guests who pay for a 5 star resort. The accommodations we had were horrendous compared to what we were expecting and this will be the last time we stay at a Grand Bahia resort, and use Air Transat services, including trip central.Â
We would like a response, an explanation and a solution to these issues in a timely manner. This was completely unacceptable, and we will not refrain from sharing this experience with other potential guests to ensure people know exactly what to expect from a resort that is claimed to be 5-star like this.Â
As mentioned above, we do have a video of the pool of water and leakage from the final day of our stay, which we will happily show you. We look forward to your responses.Â

Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro: The Big Bahia
The resort was very well managed. For such a large resort they really did a great job , from our check in to the cleanliness of the room , to the awesome job of displaying food and feeding such large number of people so efficiently. There was plenty of entertainment for all ages, lots of beach & poolside activities. The weather was 27 c everyday . The sunrise in the morning was so beautiful getting up at 5:45 was easy.

Bahia Principe Escape Samana: Quiet and comfortable
Small resort, but very well-run: management is often seeking feedback and improving things. Likewise, beach is small, but private. Food and service were very good. Not at all crowded late in April. Lots of stairs, so not suitable for some people. Wind was constant. No kayaks, etc for rent. Only walk would have been along the highway, which I declined. Gym was well-equipped. Resort is quiet, not suitable for the party crowd. Love the balcony overlooking the ocean!
