Barcelo Puerto Vallarta: Very nice resort

This resort is great staff work hard and it has excellent service. Food is good and rooms are great. Only complaint is the lobby bar needs a update. The gym needs equipment that works. The lobby bar needs a change, new furniture. Nut it's definitely worth a visit.

Occidental Nuevo Vallarta: Great 4Star Hotel

We are a middle aged well traveled couple. We have stayed in mainly 5 star all inclusives but decided to save a few dollars and stay at a 4 star. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of food and service. The beach is great here and even though many reviewers complained about the lack of shade we never had a problem finding a chair in the shade at any time of the day. I don't mind not having a balcony as we spend very little time in our room however I do not like sleeping with the cold air conditioning on and it would be nice to hear the waves at night. Also would appreciate internet access in the Lobby. I rather like not having internet in the room while on vacation but it would be nice to be able to check in every few days and so Lobby internet would be appreciated. The Ocean was so rough when we were there that it made it impossible to have a nice swim but if you like to play in the waves this is the beach for you. One day the water was so rough that it was washing in dozens of yellow bellied water snakes, Yikes! It was also amazing to see a nest of turtles hatch right on our resort beach . The staff at the hotel was great and I would especially like to thank Eder Huescq at the front desk as he went above and beyond to make sure that we were happy with our stay. I really don't understand the complaints about check in as ours and our friends who arrived days after us both had a quick and cheerful check in with Eder. We did not upgrade to Royal level and really i can not see that it would be worth an extra $100 a day to do so. Although the nights get chilly and it would have been nice to be able to use the hot tub in the Royal level pool.

Occidental Punta Cana: Amazing Resort

All the public areas were kept in imacculate condition. The whole experience at the Occidental was 5 star. All the wait staff were a joy to be around. The nightly shows were very well executed and high energy. All the entertainment team worked very hard and their enthusiasam was infectious.

Allegro Cozumel: Good resort

Terrible food at buffet! I was concerned before booking after what I had read,but was reassured by Trip Central that one of their workers went and it was good?? The entertainment wasn’t good either!! But the resort was beautiful and staff very good.

Barcelo Gran Faro Los Cabos: BARCELO Gran Faro Los Cabos - Incredible Resort!

We LOVED the Barcelo Gran Faro Los Cabos resort!!! The grounds were beautifully kept and very clean. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious and offered a wonderful, wide variety within the 2 buffet restaurants and 3 others that were on-sight. There were 3 pools, plus 2 hot tubs and a small playground area with a pool for children. WE loved the infinity pool overlooking the gorgeous white sand beach and ocean. The beach, which was lined with palm trees, was cl [... read more]ean and groomed every evening. The resort itself was quiet, relaxing and was not overcrowded. The only small complaint we have is that the poolside music was a little too loud, but was not as load on the beach. We chose to go on one off sight adventure with Cabo Adventures and it proved to be a very fun and perfect day! We received excellent value for the price which included transportation, sailing on a beautiful, super clean catamaran, snorkeling, paddle boarding, appetizer, lunch and whale watching! It was fantastic!! All shuttles ran on time and offered comfortable transportation. We never felt unsafe even when walking into town. I know that I speak for our entire group of eight people when I say that we ALL had an amazing vacation at this resort, would return without hesitation and would recommend it to family and friends. I have already recommended it to several clients. Thank you Trip Central, Shauna Langille (travel agent), Westjet Vacations and all at the Barcelo Gran Faro Los Cabos! My 60th birthday was the BEST EVER!!!!!

Occidental Arenas Blancas: Back for the second time!

My husband and I really enjoy this resort. A beautiful stroll on the beach each morning and then back to a lounge chair to read a book while the waves are crashing behind us. We never went hungry and the service and staff are consistently amazing. Rooms and decor could use a refresh.

Barcelo Karmina: Amazing trip

My husband and i just got home from this resort and it was one of our absolute favorit places we have ever stayed at. We will definitely be going back in the future. The staff was amazing and the food was awesome. We are so happy!!

Barcelo Maya Beach Resort: AWESOME

Picture this: A family of 5 leaving a small town to a totally different country called Mexico. They were shocked and astonished by what they saw. And that, ladies and gentlemen, was my family. First of all, I'll start off with the food. I honestly thought the food was completely amazing. Especially the pancakes, because I got 2 of them every morning. The tables were nicely set up, and once you sit down, you can straight away order drinks. For our lunch we always went to the snack bars, by th [... read more]e pool. My daughter, Tristyn, would always have the frozen yogurt for dessert at lunch and dinner. There were always donuts for my son. And my other daughter loved the tea there. Finally at dinner, we would usually go to the Tropical or Colonial, and the food is UNDESCRIBABLE. The whole family loved all the food there, and especially the fruit and white chocolate. There were many drinks for my kids, and a lot for me too. Our hotel was, once again, amazing! We had a premium room, but a regular room still probably would have been amazing. I loved late night Jacuzzi's, and my kids had fun in it before dinner. The bathrooms were great too, but the door to the toilet wouldn't completely close. There was a little safe where we stored important stuff, and the beds were good, but they weren't very comfy. Our view was amazing, especially for sunrise or sunset pictures. Next is the pool and beach. The beach has the most amazing water ever! It's so clear!! My son and daughter loved snorkeling in the ocean by the palace. They got to see different types of fish, and lots of SEATURTLES! They were quite cute, I gotta say. My other daughter sat on the nice and warm sand and listened to her music or read a book. But she did love the pool, and swam in the pool a lot. The pool had different activities for my oldest daughter, while my son and daughter and their dad swam in the pool. My daughter had a friend, so it would actually usually just be my son and their dad. I would lay on one of the chairs and tan. Parties would be at the jaguar. But the jaguar is for 18 years and up. For the kids in the day, kids club is a good place to send them if their under the age of 8. At night, the shows are ok there, but the Micheal Jackson show was our favourite. But after that, its a very quiet environment. Aside from the show and the jaguar, its like an empty island. Which, is very good for sleep, so you can wake up and enjoy the next day. Service was great, but I love Cuban people. Everyone was nice and polite towards us when we went to get drinks or food. House keeping was good too, and she kept our hotel clean. Overall, this was amazing and I highly recommend this resort!!!!!!!!! P.S: I recommend buying the Tropical or Colonial sections

Occidental Tucancun: Amazing resort

Everything was exceptional just as described. Service was great. Handy to all attractions. Mall across street. I plan on going again. Three pool to chose from. It was never overcrowded. I just loved the two weeks I spent there during Christmas and New Years. I Traveled with my sister on this vacation and we both enjoyed everything about this trip.

Barcelo Huatulco: Fantastic resort for the whole family!

Resort was great overall - Excellent service. - very well maintained, although slightly dated. - great kids program - food was really good - weather is perfect in Jan - would prefer over dreams for those with young kids (we visited dreams for a day) - close to the airport

Barcelo Bavaro Beach: Awesome Resort

This was my second time staying at the Barcelo Bavaro beach hotel. I went for a friends wedding back in Oct 2016 and decided to come back for New Years. I went on my own both times and I did not have any issues with walking around the resort at night or with the staff. I always felt safe being there the first time so this is why I booked again. The a la carte restaurants are excellent. My favourite was the Steak house. I went to all the a la cartes that were included in staying at the Barcelo Bavaro Beach. The entertainement at night is always wonderful to watch. They do an awesome job getting the audience involved. The activities they do during the day are fun as well. I participated in the yoga, aerobics and dancing lessons. The New Years Gala was a fun night. They had a show and the food was very fancy and dancing. The only thing they should have done was advertise their new years gala more. They should have also showed the 2 options for the evening if you wanted vip bottle service you would have to pay or just free with no bottle service. That was a bit confusing. But I would deffinitely travel to this resort again and recommend it. The staff is always friendly and most of them speak English so its easier to ask questions. I always felt safe being a single woman travelling on my own. There are cameras all over the resort. I made a lot of friends with the staff. You can also walk or train over to the Palace side where they have shops, the disco and casino.

Barcelo Maya Beach Resort: Great Resort

Our fourth time to the Barcelo Maya and we have really enjoyed every stay there. The beach, pools, grounds and resort are all beautiful and very well maintained. The resort is huge with lots of amenities, so we typically don't leave the resort and still find plenty to do. We were in Tropical and had friends staying in Caribe we visited daily and according to my step counter I averaged more than 16 kms of walking per day...that is how big the resort is. Our last two days there, the resort was  [... read more]completely full for a concert on the beach and we still found chairs by the pool and the beach with no issues. But the resort was very obviously more crowded and the food choice and quality seemed to go down a bit at the snack places on the beach. Our meat choices went from steak, chicken fish and burgers --- to burgers only? Our only complaint would be how loud the hallways near the rooms are. Due to design and the fact it's all hard materials (tiles and concrete) it sounds like any noise or talking in the hallway are coming from right beside your bed, though I think that is normal for all resorts in the south. Bring ear plugs and know you'll likely only sleep from midnight till about 7am with a couple of wake ups thrown in. We will definitely go back again as the resort is very well run and maintained.

Occidental Punta Cana: First time visit

Great beach!! Everything was very clean. The food was good however the service at the Mexican restaurant was very slow. Very good variety of food. The water and hydro went out one night in our room. Our room was large and clean. One day it took a while to get towels but only one. Impressed with how safe it was at the beach and lots of security around. Recommend it good value for the money.

Barcelo Maya Beach Resort: Beautiful Family Resort

The Resort is very well kept up, the staff are always smiling, always cleaning. The grounds are excellent. It is an excellent resort for young and old. There are lots of things for children of all ages to do.

Barcelo Maya Colonial: Great resort!

3rd visit to the hotel. Each time was great. Food is great, and so is all the wait/bar staff. Making dinner reservations was disappointing this time. Only managed to get 3, and had to pay for 1. But it was worth the $20. Found to pool water a bit chilly this visit.

Barcelo Maya Colonial: More complaints from guests at reception than there were people checking in

Whilr the grounds are tasteful and well maintained, the service has to be the worst that I've ever encountered in any resort. We were forced to change rooms three times. Upon check in, we were provided a room on the 3rd (top) floor and every morning at 7:30, heavy hammering would start in the roof. Despite complaints, the noise continued until we were moved to a roof, where I literally felt ill. It was so damp and humid & the stale stench of mould in the bathroom made me want to leave the [... read more] resort and forfeit my wasted money and remainder of time at this disastrous place. We booked a massage for the 2 of us and upon arriving at the spa, there was only space for 1 of us. About 4 days into the trip at this "all inclusive", we found out that we were being charged $25 per person for room-service breakfast. The above is only the tip of the iceberg and based on the hundreds of guests that I saw each day at reception complaining about their stay, I would recommend that looking at another resort would be advisable.

Barcelo Ixtapa: A few things you might want to know!

Excellent location close to shops and restaurants. Rooms are kept clean and tidy, but are very dated. Buffets are excellent, but we didn't find the al la carte restaurants anything special. Staff lovely!

Occidental Cozumel: Very nice resort

The grounds are exceptional. It's situated in a nature preserve, very mature trees, foliage, mangroves. Food was good, a la carte restaurants very good. Rooms are spacious, clean, very nice décor in the hacienda style. Pool and beach area was outstanding. Staff were polite.

Palma Real: Would not recommend at all

Everything from rooms, food, pools, grounds, entertainment, drinks, power source,noise level and so many more issues that I could write a short novel on the reasons not to go to this resort. My husband and I travel a few times a year and have never been so disgusted with this resort and would never recommend it at all. Even talking to other guests at resort they felt the same about it, DO NOT GO and if you do don't expect any 3 stars, you would be very disappointed.

Barcelo Maya Caribe: Beautiful grounds, tired hotel room and mediocre food!

The Grounds at Barcelo are very well maintained and beautiful. The property is huge with four shared resorts or five if you are staying at the Palace. The rooms in the Caribe building Labra were very tired (unless you were in the row of Premium rooms at the end of the building that had all been renovated). The tile floor grout was black due to its age. The bath tub was all chipped in areas where they attempted to cover it with liquid enamel. Having a balcony was completely useless because all of the balconies have a solid concrete wall surround so when you sat down all you were looking at was a solid concrete balcony wall. Each property has its own buffet and we tried Beach, Caribe, Traditional and Colonial. There is a different theme each night at the buffet but I found regardless of whether it was Mexican, Spanish or Japanese the food was pretty much the same with a few exceptions. Very disappointed in particular with Mexican theme night as I was expecting a far better attay of Mexican inspired food. The guacamole is all mass produced and not fresh like you would expect being in Mexico. We paid an extra $40 US to eat at the French restaurant at the Palace and it was not worth it at all. The food was ok. The waiter was fantastic but we were both extremely disappointed with the food. We went to Xplore on an excursion one day and my 16 year old son said the food at the included buffet there was better than at the resort! For an inclusive resort they have far too many things that are not included such as bowling, the water park, mini golf, wave rider and also a small little carousel in the Mayan Mall area that they charged to let the kids ride on. So much for all inclusive! Undecided whether I would return to Barcelo. I would likely try another chain to see if it was better value for the money for an all inclusive.
