Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: cautionary

We just came back from this hotel with an adult section, we thought that Iberostar are good hotels but we were disappointed, after the first night we were bitten by insects in our room (bed bags) whole body in a rash. We asked for disinfection, they changed the bedding only. We were advise by our Air Transat representative to see the doctor (one visit cost as $65 CAN ). From our building to the beach should be very close, but the bridge is broken and closed, the next nearest is about 15 minutes [... read more] walking. Beach overrated and narrow. Pools are with cold water .Hard to get extra bath towels for the room ( we use them for sleeping sheets ). Food is average , very poor selection but the service in the buffet restaurant is great and all the people try to be very friendly. We promise our self's never visit Cuba again..

JOIA Paraiso by Iberostar: Still Amazing

Fifth trip to this lovely resort during first week of November (BD & Myacoba Open), from when you first drive into the breathtaking grounds, the friendly greeting upon entering the resort, the staff, the service, the rooms all continue to leave us more impressed every year. Looking forward to see everyone again next year.

Iberostar Origin Tainos: Great resort.

All around very good bang for your buck. Always a good variety of dishes. The property was kept clean. Our room was comfortable and well done every day. Nightly entertainment was good. Our interaction with employees came with a smile.

The hotel and surrounding buildings were very clean. Gardeners on site daily trimming flowers and trees. Beautiful landscaping. Very colourful. Rooms were comfortable and cleaned on a daily basis. Washrooms on the resorts always cleaned. The food was good and had a lot of variety. The snack bar near the beach also was good. The beach was great and had games and volleyball. Also in the lobby had a few stores to buy souvenirs. The gym didn't have no air conditioning but was ok. The customer service was very good.

Iberostar Origin Playa Pilar: Wouldn't rate it as a 4 star

Beach - really isn't one.....if you like to sit on the beach and have the ability to walk into the water to cool down then back to your chair, that isn't possible here. There is a beach and a lot of chairs but you have to walk on a pier and then down stairs to go for a swim. This is because the shore line is all rock. Rooms - are all very nice and they all face the ocean which was a plus. Food - boring. we have been to Cuba 10 times and this was probably the most disappointing for buffet.  [... read more]It wasn't even very warm and it didn't change much in the 4 days we were there. The cook stations were all very good and the staff were great. We went Dec 7-10 for a quick weekend get away, this was the first time we have done that as we normally stay 2 weeks. I am really glad this was a short stay. We were told this is part of their low season so they had fewer staff, this may explain the lack of drink variety and food. We would not visit this resort again.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Great for the price

Overall the this was a very good deal for the price paid (830$ 1 week) Hotel is large, many bars and pools on a spread out area Clean, 'normal' room. There was 1/2-1 day with no hot water but they fixed it. Beach is on the best part of Varadero Food is as expected in Cuba Drinks are as expected. local selection only (fee for others). Of note there was no local beer due to a factory issue and the hotel replaced it with Heineken. Thank you! Would suggest to the hotel to give out their best rooms, ex top floors/sea or pool view when it is not booked.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Nice resort, great people, bad timing (weather wasn't great!)

The resort as a whole was quite nice, although the rooms were kind of ordinary. The wifi was not what I'm accustomed to, no idea it it's the infrastructure or the resort - and there's really no television to speak of - so don't bother to go here if your plan is to hibernate in a room!

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: Many had food poisoning, poor lighting

Spent 7 days from November 27th-dec4th rooms are clean staff nice, small and nice grounds . My friend and I got very sick, I spoke to many people during our stay that also were sick with vomiting and diarrhea. Approx 35 people I personally spoke with experience the same. The lighting at night was very bad I had to use my phone to light my way back to my room

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Resort showing its age

Hotel was showing its age. Had been a guest of this same hotel 5 years ago, quality of the hotel, care and service was not the same. Many elevator were not operational and got stuck in one which then was deemed out of service.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Loved this resort

Second time here. We hoped all would be well after the disaster of last year. A few issues with our room but they were resolved quickly. Grounds,staff, and food were all excellent. Great view of the ocean from our room. Flight times with Westjet are the best. A special shout out to my favorite water aerobics instructor, Willy. Another great vacation in Cuba!!

Iberostar Waves Tucan: Great Family Hotel

Special thanx to Wendy from TripCentral she was able to organize all our family members travel plans making sure we were all arriving within hours of each other. We were flying from Montreal, Edmonton & Toronto. She recommended the Iberostar Tucan & It was a great choice we all loved it! The food, service & rooms met our expectations & our budget.We would definitely recommend & use Wendy @ trip central for our next vacation

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: Amazing people, tired interiors

The people who work at the resort are amazing. The beach is perfect. If you are the low maintenance sort this resort will be adequate. The interior of the rooms and most of the hotel itself is tired and worn. Paint is peeling in a lot of places and my room smelled a bit moldy and musty. The general standard of clean is not as high as in North America.

Iberostar Selection Bavaro Suites: Great resort

Everything was about the hotel was perfect - food, drinks, hotel, weather. The only down side was that vendors were allowed onto the resort and that these vendors hustled you for a sale, even after saying no.

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Little piece of paradise!

We stayed at this resort for one week and are certain the return visit we will stay for at least ten days. The rooms were clean, spacious and the bathroom was very modern with plenty of hot water. The food was good; from some of the reviews we thought it was going to be terrible. We could always find something to eat that was tasty. Tipping was not required to get good service but since we received good service we wanted to tip! The staff were cheerful, interested and extremely well trained in their various work positions. The hotel seems to take great pride in taking good care of its staff and it shows. The entertainment each night in the lobby was enjoyable and the night shows, particularly the Hollywood show was outstanding. The beachs are the best in the world! This is Cuba and all it has to offer.

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: good value for 3.5 stars

Great beach and pool. Food needs variety. Some rooms need reno. Plumbing pipes reversed in some showers...cold showers for 3 days till we discovered that ! Friendly staff. Good beverage service. Italian restaurant was very pleasant. Its lasagna was great.

the hotel is very nice and clean all the employees are very friendly the food were excellent pool is very nice and clean,,,we are planning to go again next year i really enjoyed staying in this hotel,,all the entertainers are very approachable and all games are fun we joined some of the games and we really had fun

Everything was spectacular! I would highly recommend this resort to everyone I know! It was everything we expected and more. Will travel to this resort in the future. The staff were very accommodating, the room was the perfect size, no complaints!

Iberostar Waves Rose Hall Beach: Amazing Resort!

Very clean resort, staff was entertaining and personable making you feel welcomed and appreciated! Shout outs to: Chocolate, Angel, String Bean, Macaroni, Spongebob, Lego, Kevin Hart and Richard at the pool bar. The buffet had a variety of options, was always fresh and delicious! The room fridge was stocked with refreshments. Pool area and beach was nice and refreshing. Only downfall was check in at 3pm - we arrived in the morning and had to wait around as no rooms were available.

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Beautiful resort

We spent a week at Iberostar and went on 2 trips. We enjoyed the nature, the resort, especially the lobby. Some of the concerts were spectacular. The food was OK, lots of variety, but I wish there was more seafood. Drinks were OK, but limited. No specialty coffees, things like that. Just coffee. Pina colada was not real. Only at Ocean World we drank real pina colada. Wine and beer were good. Restaurants were nice, the food was plenty and good. The beach was not like in Cuba. Sea weeds and not cl [... read more]ear water. The water was warm and the beach itself was big and nice, but no activities on the beach. No water sports. The kids club was always closed. The pools were lit up at night, and that was beautiful. Lots of cats, no animal control. Even though the cats were lovely, they are not immunized or maintained. They were roaming around garbage bins. Overall, we had good experience. The mountains and the nature are amazing.

Iberostar Selection Paraiso Lindo: Great family vacations

We travelled with our 2 kids (4&9). The resort layout is Perfect for families. You can walk everywhere. Restaurants are greats, staff friendly. Magic show and foam party were huge hits with kids. We will be back.
