Club Kawama: 19th Time at Club Kawama!

We continue to return to Club Kawama year after year for the amazing beach and the beautiful staff. The resort was much quieter than usual due to the pandemic. The protocols in place to ensure a safe and clean environment were top notch. In particular, the food and drinks in the dining room and bars were carefully covered and distributed only by staff. We like this resort because it is mainly two or three story buildings rather than a modern high rise of 15 plus floors. It's an older r [... read more]esort so it's not for everyone who is looking for a 4 or 5 star. We like the charm, the people and the beautiful surroundings this resort has to offer.

Brisas Del Caribe: Amazing Resort

We just got back from Cuba after a 2 week vacation and had a wonderful time. The staff is the best they go out of their way to do anything they can for you and are the friendliest people. The room was great and kept very clean. They have Covid measures in effect. Tables, chairs and public areas are sanitized regularly, the staff all wear masks and are fully vaccinated. Lots of hand sanitizer all over the resort. Mind you some of the guests did not think that mask wearing applied to th [... read more]em. We felt safer in Cuba during Covid then we do at home. The grounds and the pool are well maintained and the beach is beautiful. No shortages of food and it was good. Always had lots of beer and Rum no shortages there. We are thinking of returning in May.as we loved it there.

Sol Varadero Beach: Fantastic time at Sol Varadero Beach

The rooms were very nice The beach was fantastic snd the pool was beautiful. The food was good for Cuba and the service was excellent. Works definitely recommend this hotel. The location was great and can walk to Varadero on the beach.

Club Kawama: Very nice resort

This is a well- kept resort. The staff is very busy cleaning and keeping the resort looking nice in all areas. The dining room is very comfortable and the staff go out of their way to help visitors. There was a large selection for food, and I always enjoyed my meals in the buffet. I also liked the burgers that were served near the pool. I was very satisfied with the resort and staff. Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Beautiful Resort

Enjoyed staying at this hotel. Easy check in and stayed in the privilege area. Was nice to have a restaurant and bar nearby and really good serving personnel. All the hotel workers wear masks inside and outside. The room was spacious and had a balcony. The one issue I had was little to no hot water. However the rest was great. Privilege has it's own pool and its a short walk to the ocean. The beach is not as nice as the long main beach of Varadero but it's adequate. Roc Barlovento: Okay…. 2 star

Our particular hotel room was clean. The service people were nice, however the manager was not good with helping. I guess he felt self entitlement. Wasn’t overly impressed. A lot of Cuban visitors were staying on the resort and hoarding food to give to their relatives outside the resort. Taking all the food, not leaving any for people in the line. ((Ie: who needs 25 pieces of chicken piled on their individual plate?). And then the next person told they have to wait 20 mins for food.  [... read more]This was common. Cubans were cutting into the lines, not adhering to COVID rules. Leaving cigarettes and garbage all over the resort. I know it’s been difficult with COVID, just wasn’t expecting the mess and rudeness. Wasn’t impressed. The weather was great though. Wifi only given out 2 hours at a time, inconvenient but could work with it.

Melia Internacional: Amazing resort

Very nice hotel, good service, good food and beautiful beach! We are happy with everything! Close to the Airport and Varadero.we would recommend this Amelia International resort to our family and friends

Hotel Los Cactus: Be Live Adults Only Los Cactus

This is a very nice resort. The rooms were clean and spacious, the grounds were well maintained. There were plenty of paths through the grounds to enjoy the beautiful plants and flowers and the beach was beautiful. The food was good with a lot of choices and all of the servers and wait staff were very friendly and helpful in fact all of the staff at the hotel were friendly and welcoming. Club Kawama: resort club kawama

Kawama is as always a fun place to meet people that enjoy a good time. Yes the food is not like back home but surprise , your not in Canada pal. As for the tropical location here,s another surprise THEY HAVE BUGS so deal with it (ie bring bug spray duh). All being said this is the Cuba that we love , not a five star by any means but one hell of a fun place to enjoy. Last but not least the staff at Kawama are the BEST.Kudos to them now and in the future.

Club Kawama: Loved It!!

Loved the beautiful beach, pools, buffet, drinks, music — great time! This was my second visit to this resort and nice to see some great staff and friendly regular visitors again I felt safe from the worries of Covid - staff made sure all precautions were taken

Playa Vista Azul: Worst Resort Ever

This is the worst hotel and worst trip I've ever had. First off the hotel is not as clean and put together as the pictures would suggest, it is more of a 2-3 star in appearance, our lamp fell apart on us, the fridge in our room was broken, our screen door was broken and letting in bugs, just everything as falling apart. The hotel is not really beachfront, most of the rooms are facing the pool or have no view at all so this is not the place for you if you want a beach getaway. The service was  [... read more]good at some places, especially at the bar in the main building but at bars and the buffet hall you an expect to just be ignored or wait forever for someone to actually get you anything. Unless you are tipping very high do not expect for the servers to be nice and helpful. The entertainment was basically obsolete, if you want to party and have fun this definitely isn't the place. There is a small theatre that does entertainment at night but it wasn't much and looked pretty sad. I was there for new years eve and there was a very poorly planned celebration with not much other than some dancers they hired and a DJ but the way they set it up around the pool and with all the people you couldn't actually see the dancers so there was really just crowds and a shitty DJ. This hotel is also very corrupt in it's management, I had previously wrote a review of the hotel during my stay cause I was so mad at my experience and when we asked someone to help at the front desk nothing was done but then we were basically blackmailed into taking our review down and made extremely uncomfortable by the customer service representatives. This is also not the place you want to go during the pandemic, there are not proper precautions to prevent the spread of covid-19, the staff are mostly wearing masks but the guests are not asked to at all and at the buffet there is no social distancing and safety precautions other than them plating the food for you but sometimes that wasn't even the case. The PCR tests they do for when you are travelling home also aren't proper, they barely go into your nose when they are testing and put incorrect dates on the forms, I tested positive when I got to the airport so I know that the test they gave me at the hotel as incorrect and I should have been positive and probably contracted covid during my stay. All in all, I urge everyone not to stay here, please rebook to another hotel for your own sake, I wish I had the chance to.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: A Resort with a heart !!

Overall a great resort ! The grounds, food , restaurants, beach, and staff were fabulous!! We had a medical emergency (accident) while at the resort and the staff was exceptional !! Janet Bell from Customer Service went beyond to help us, the resort doctor and nurse so helpful and the overall staff so caring!

Playa Vista Azul: Great place

Top of the list is the people! The staff are amazing and friendly and it was a pleasure getting to chat with them. The beach- hands down one of the best! Rooms are kept clean but could use a little face lift. Nice short walking distance to all the amenities. Varadero and the Beatles bar are a must ( take the double decker bus for a 5$ Day pass). Entertainment was good - no theatre every night, but there was entertainment in the lobby or poolside at night. Bring some condiments!

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Still an Amazing Resort

I love Varadero and I have stayed at the Iberostar Laguna Azul 5 to 6 times. It is clean, safe, beautifully landscaped, well maintained, very friendly, professional and hard working staff. I have tried staying at a few other resorts and they do not measure up to Iberostar Laguna Azul. We were there for Christmas 2021 and they went all out for our Christmas Eve dinner it was unbelievable! Melia Las Americas: My winter oasis

I cannot say enough about this beautiful place. I’ve now been 8 times and will be making it 9 shortly. The staff is so kind and thoughtful. The grounds are beautiful. The hotel is fantastic and the food is perfect Having the golf course a hop skip and a jump away definitely helps too. This year it was great to meet a few more coupes who have frequented this resort 23 and 40 times I believe that says enough. A big thanks to Wendy van zandwyk from trip central for her help again

Great resort Mountain on one side Beach and Corel reef the other Bungalows steps from beach Loving and caring staff Amazing locals Great time to be had definitely going back once Covid settles down Bring and leave things for everyone lack of tourism had really hurt them and ask around for better exchange rates

Barcelo Solymar: Under Renovations

We booked the Barcelo Solymar hotel, when we got there they put us in the Arenas Blancas which is a cheaper hotel and we still got charged the full price for the Barcelo Solymar. The food was always the same every day they made everyone put their bags at the door where it could easily be stolen, so while eating always worried that it would go missing. This review is for the Arenas Blancas not for Barcelo solymar it was closed for renovations and we were not advised about it and we paid more for this hotel, i paid for 2 weeks plus a land person for 2 weeks. Memories Jibacoa: Great getaway!

The hotel is located alongside only one other hotel. This makes the beach great for walking. There are no crowds at all and we felt we were on vacation. From the moment we arrived the service that was provided was second to none. We took the Diamond Club and the staff was outstanding starting with the easy check-in. The room was very comfortable and clean. All the rooms are close to the pool area, the beach, and the restaurants/buffet. You can also take out a kayak and snorkeling equipment. No reservations were needed and they were always available. The staff at the beach bar who brought drinks and worked at the bar were outstanding. As the hotel was not full there were many empty chairs and therefore, there was lots of space between you and other guests. You also did not have to get up early to save a chair at the pool or at the beach. The food at the beach was very good. We ate mostly at the A la carte restaurant. The food and service were great. At the buffet, they have staff to serve you and you point out what you would like to eat. No guests are handling the food. All staff was wearing masks all of the time. The Covid tests and results were provided at the hotel. We stayed there for one week and will go back again.

Melia Internacional: Cuba’s Best Resort

This relatively new resort does a lot of things correctly. The physical assets, including the rooms and public areas are in great shape and are well maintained. The beach is spectacular and the pool areas are large and very accommodating. The food is very good, particularly at the a la carte restaurants. The staff are friendly and anxious to serve. We would recommend.

Starfish Jibacoa: No Covid Social Distancing

In the dinning room (which was a buffet) there was absolutely no social distancing. Let me explain, the hotel occupants or guest were comprised of approximately 80% Cuba tourists and 20% Canadian tourists. The Cuban tourists were shoulder to shoulder, hip to hip, rude, abnoxious, pushy and jumping line to get their food from the buffet. It was unbelievable!!!
