Very much enjoyed our 10 day stay at Gran Caribe. Stayed in an ocean front room which was fantastic with beautiful full view of the sun rising. Food and drinks were excellent as was the service! Could improve on the check in speed...seems a bit tedious. The central location makes it easy either walk or hop on the bus to do some shopping.

Crown Paradise Club Cancun: Great family resort
Great hotel, grounds and beach. Lots of variety for food, activities and pools. Amazing staff. Pool culture is loud, energetic and busy. We stayed at the beach with our 3 kids which was more our speed. Only complaint is that the washrooms are far from the beach and main pool. Only an inconvience but didn't affect our overall experience.

Smart Cancun By Oasis: Great Hotel
Loved the Oasis Smart. The rooms and the public areas were all spotless. The bed was really comfy and there was lots of hot water. The staff were amazing. The pool area was really comfy. The beers were a good price at the pool and the food was really good - I had a mini burger and didn't know it came with fries so I ordered the vegi and blue cheese dip also. Glad I did - it was the best blue cheese dip I ever tasted and the vegi's were beets, asparagus and something they said was mexican potato.[... read more] Both were really good. The amenities that were left in your washroom were like you were at a 5 star hotel. We rented a smart car from the hotel - it was $170.00 u..s for 4 days including insurance and travelled for those 4 days just coming back to have dinner in the area and sleep. If you wanted to spend the day at the Oasis Palm and use the all inclusive and the beach it was 22 u.s. for the day but the shuttle didn't leave until 10:30 am so you missed breakfast - you can get a bus there easily if you wanted to have breakfast also.

Occidental Tucancun: Exceeded our expectations!
My boyfriend and I stayed at Barcelo Tucancun February 17-24 and it exceeded our expectations. The resort was always clean and the staff were all so welcoming and friendly. Our room was spacious and modern with a gorgeous ocean view. Breakfast buffet and the Mexican a la carte were our favourites in regards to the food. Only negative is the swim up bar was not always open during the day, otherwise, highly recommend this beautiful resort!

Grand Oasis Sens: Average Resort
Older high end building - lots of marble. Partially refurbished, plumbing is old, stairs lack handrails. Resort was full, long lineups for coffee, for meals, for meal reservations. Pool chairs claimed early each day, people leave, chairs sit empty. Food is only ok - mostly bland.

Hard Rock Hotel Cancun: Rockin' on at the Hard Rock Hotel Cancun!
We picked this resort partly because it was easy to get to Cancun from Hamilton, Ontario. Cancun and hotel both awesome. Did two tours (a zip-line sinkhole tour and a sunset sail) both great. Fabulous vacation!

Grand Oasis Sens: Find another hotel!
The ONLY reason for 2 stars is the Mexican and Italian restaurant had good food and the hotel grounds are well laid out and very attractive. Also the beach and pool are great- no drink service though- you have to go to the bar to get your own drinks. Those are the only saving graces for this hotel! Service was HORRIBLE! The rooms didn't have blankets ( we literally had to call 3 times) and they charge for Wifi (it's 2016- if you consider yourself a 5 star then wifi should be complimentary). All [... read more]the double rooms are with double beds only- again if you're going to claim you're a 5 star you should have 2 queens per room. I will not be going back and I suggest anyone looking to stay at a 5 star in Cancun do the same. No one tried to make our experience better after we went to customer service and they were apathetic at best.

Iberostar Selection Cancun: IBERO 5 STAR
We had a fantastic time at the Iberostar, traveled as a couple but the hotel caters for all types of travelers.
The standard room which we were in was ok not the best but it met our needs, the maid service wow exceptional - our maid made a different towel art every day so it was a nice surprise when we got back to the room.
The pools, gardens beach etc where immaculate everyone worked hard to keep all areas clean.
We only went to two of the 4 a la cart restaurants available Japanese & Steak H[... read more]ouse, our favorite was the Steak House (Melt in the mouth steak). The buffet was great lots of choice for all types of pallets, I am a picky eater so it was a nice change for me to be able to choose something rather than having to settle.
The entertainment team are in a class of their own just to name a few Ana, David and Pamela, worked hard all day and night to make our holiday memorable.
A big thank you to everyone and will be coming back soon!!

Moon Palace Cancun: We LOVE Moon Palace!
We went to Moon Palace 2 years ago and loved it so much we came back this year with our 6 month old!
The resort is only about 10-15 minutes from the airport so you don't waste hours on the bus getting to and from. Both times we were transported with only Moon Palace guests so no other stops along the way!
There are LOTS of food choices (13 restaurants or something like that), and you don't need to make reservations for the a la cartes. You can also eat at the a la cartes more than once, unlike[... read more] other resorts I've been to. The food, even at the buffets is fantastic. There are a couple 24 hr coffee shops with ice cream, desserts, fresh fruit popsicles and fresh crepes! So much food you could eat all day!
We tend to spend most of our time in the heated pool near the Grand area, so not sure if there are other heated pools, but huge bonus when travelling with babies/small children having a heated pool.
24 room service and $1500 resort credits (when staying for 7 days) are awesome. We didn't do any excursions this time, but did a couple last time and you only pay 16% tax and use the resort credits for the rest. Excursions using resort credits are limited, but I think still a good selection. Both times we enjoyed a massage at the spa using resort credits.
The staff compared to other resorts I've been to are very friendly! When eating at buffets, often a waiter/waitress will carry your plate back to your table for you and pull our your chair! Every time any staff walks past you anywhere on the resort, they always acknowledge you and say hola!
There is a pillow menu! You can order different pillows: lavender, mint, memory foam etc. They also have a 'turn down service' at night time which is an extra perk.
Even though people place towels on chairs early to reserve chairs poolside, we never had a problem (in the grand area anyways) finding pool chairs. It would be nice if they enforced the 'no reserving chairs' rule however. When relaxing by the pool, there are waiters/waitresses getting you food and drinks so you pretty much never have to get up if you don't want to! If you're looking to swim in the ocean, this may not be the best resort for you. The beach has a lot of seaweed that floats in the water close to shore so we didn't see a lot of people swimming in the water. They do a great job of clearing the seaweed that washes onto the sand though so you can still walk along the water!
We can't say enough good things about this place! We would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a nice, relaxing vacation. Be prepared to gain a few pounds from all the food ;)

The Hotel is well layer out . Beautiful grounds , every corner has something to discover , fire pits , hot tubs . Pools , bars , and many more amenities .
95 % of the staff are very good to exceptional . Dinning . La Casona excellent . We ate some wonderful lunches at Zama , the service and food were better than very good .. Hiroshi. Again very good . But a quick thinking busboy was quick to see our need and went out of his way to help us.Bite restaurant , no service for at least 7 minutes. We had to call a waiter over. Drinks were slow . Finally a young lady became our waiter and the service was excellent . We met at lobby bar every evening at 5.00 pm , the bar tender and server , well they were exceptional , we met several wonderful couples there . Meeting people is one of my favourite holiday pastimes and I was not disappointed. Everyone we talked to loved the resort with no complaints even when I asked them if they saw any problems Nope .
I felt no pressure from the time share people and talked with several who purchased and were very happy with what they received for their investment
This is a perfect place to bring children. The kids definitely had a great time .
3804 great view .Our room was very comfortable and well kept , thanks to housekeeping .
Room service was very quick .
Beautiful turquoise waters , took the fast ferry to Isle Mujeres. Fumes from vehicles not very pleasant . Local restaurants and a cool Sol beer . Rented a taxi on the Isle $30 US. Victor gave us a tour for couple hrs . Met some intresting locals on the local bus . Felt safe the whole time .
Biggest problem is that we are walkers And felt that the walking space is limited .
Weddings. wow beautiful place to tie the knot .
Over all would highly recommend this resort . Cheers , try it you will like it !

Sunscape Cancun Resort and Spa: Absolutely fantastic!
The food was excellent, the staff were super nice and our room was great.
We never had to wait to eat and if we asked for something not visible at the buffet, they went and got it for us. The pool-side and beach service was fast and frequent. The check in was a slow process but the checkout went much faster. The buses were frequent and cheap to go shopping.
I would not hesitate to go back. Had a great time in the ocean jumping the waves.

Hyatt Zilara Cancun: Very Nice
The staff were wonderful, the hotel was clean and in good repair, any concerns were addressed promptly. It was our first time to the Hyatt Zilara and I asked if we could have a room away from the lobby as they can be loud, we were offered an upgrade to an ocean view room from a standard, the view was perfect and rarely was there any noise to speak of. The hotel never felt crowded but at times the lobby and beach bar were over whelmed which was no fault of the staff, even so a drink was never far[... read more] away. We ate at standard meal times and always found plenty of room in the restaurants. The spice(buffet) never appeared to be picked over or lacking items, it was always kept clean and organized. The restaurants each had very good menu's, the food and service wonderful. Me and my wife enjoyed some excellent meals together which led to conversations and moments that we are normally to busy to have. We made use of the Spa and the gym, the latter being a bit small but I understand this is soon to be addressed with a new larger gym. The evening entertainment was fun, we both enjoyed the variety. The outside pool area and ocean side lounging was very serviced well and comfortable, the one complaint I would make that affected us was when guests would take 4 towels each and reserve themselves 4 separate spots. I know that its a problem where ever you go but with no limits on how many towels you could have there was no limit on how many spots you could reserve. We went to sit out a few times and although we did find a place to sit you couldn't help but notice the abuse by certain individuals. All and all it was a good experience, I'd go again in a heart beat.

All Ritmo Cancun Resort And Waterpark: great resort for the kiddies!
ROOMS WERE VERY CLEAN/COMFORTABLE
The first room we had overlooked the street/parking lot and was located on the 3rd floor of the hotel. As we were travelling with my 74 year old Mother this was not exactly conducive. This room had 2 double beds and was also clean. But needed some updates. This room had an old TV,no balcony, no fridge, no coffee maker, no ironing board….basically NO FRILLS. I immediately went down to the front desk to ask about moving to a “standard room†on the main floor[... read more] as we were travelling with my Mom. They were incredibly accommodating. The front desk staff showed me a standard room on the main floor and offered for us to change immediately. This room was MUCH nicer than the original room. It had 2 queen size beds, a small kitchenette, flat screen TV a nice balcony (albeit it also overlooked the road), and a step down into a small living area with a pullout couch. I made the mistake of asking to see a room with an ocean view…..kiss of death!!! It was SO worth it! It had all the amenities (exact replica of the 2nd room) with a beautiful oceanview!! The upgrade was offered at an additional $25/night. It was steep….but worth it!
Everything inside the room worked well. TV, phone, coffee maker, fridge, water pressure. All good!
SERVICE
Service was impeccable in ALL areas of the hotel. From the front desk staff, the bellhops, the bar service, food service. They even had bar service at the pools and they would bring it to your seat. I didn’t find that “tipping†was expected, but the level of service received if you tipped was top notch. Not like other destinations (like Jamaica and if you don’t have $$ out you don’t get a drink). I would say tipping was expected but it certainly was appreciated. I would recommend asking for things. Ketchup was hard to find outside of the snack bar but if you asked, it was always available. My son struggled finding things to eat outside of the snack bar and a couple of times I asked for peanut butter to make him a sandwich. Never a problem.
GENERAL CLEANLINESS
Overall you could tell the hotel spent considerable resources on maintaining the level of cleanliness in both the inside of the resort as well as the pool areas, washrooms etc. They maintained the beach by raking at least 2-3 times a day. It was VERY windy while we were there so there was some wash up but it was tended to and removed. The landscaping was also immaculate. It was incredibly overgrown in and around they have done an amazing job with the upkeep.
FOOD
This would be one of the only areas they really need to improve upon. I would say the food was “hit and missâ€. Breakfast was always good. Everyone was able to find lots of things to enjoy. Same with lunch….although most days we had lunch at the snack bar so the kids were incredibly happy. Hot dogs, hamburgs (were REALLY good), chicken nuggets, French fries, finger foods. They also always had fruits and veggies. We did eat at the buffet at lunch a few days as well and the food was decent. I usually had no problem finding something to eat. Large selection of salad fixings which was where we usually landed at that time of the day. Dinner…..different story. The buffet was monotonous and the temperature of the food could have been much better. But again. hit and miss. Some nights were really good….some nights it was difficult to find something for everyone. That being said. We never went hungry! The a’la carte restaurants were few and far between. They only had 3 available at the resort and they rotated so each night was a different night. We tried the Mexican. It was a fail….for everyone! We also attended the Italian and it was the best meal we had all week……but that wasn’t saying much!!!
ENTERTAINMENT
Staff was very friendly but there wasn’t much interaction with the guests. They had nightly shows in the theatre across the road which weren’t great…..but the kids enjoyed them. They did have a dinner/show on Saturday night which was Michael Jackson. This was by far the best night of entertainment, but the food was a miss this night.
Overall, we had a great time. I would say the information provided by tripadvisor was on par with this resort. It is a very small resort which made experiences with other travellers intimate. You really got to know who everybody was and so did the kids which was great for them. The pools were shallow enough that you didn’t have to be in the water with them. Although they could have been a tad bit warmer. The waterpark was AMAZING!!! We spent most of our days over there as the kids had a great time!!!
This resort (other than the food) is completely geared towards the kids. I would NOT recommend this resort to those travelling without kids. in my opinion, I would rate this hotel overall at 3.5 stars. The service for me could bump this to a 4 star.

Sunscape Cancun Resort and Spa: Decent Vacation
This resort was more of a 3/4*. Hotel was ~ 30 minute drive from the airport. Clean resort, excellent pool & beach service but not enough chairs at either. Lounge was very noisy but decent entertainment & good service (Norma). Found that buffet food was better than a la carte restaurants (service very slow but we had 11 people in our group). Mongolian grill is delicious (highly recommend). Rooms are habitable, anything facing the main road is noisy, need to sound proof the balcony doors. 24 hour[... read more] snack bar was great for the late night munchies! Wifi is great throughout the resort, sometimes even on to the beach. Beach was very clean and soft, waves were quite rough most days, no snorkeling but you could body surf. Crown Paradise Club Cancun: Friendly, courteous and helpful staff.
The resort staff was great and went out of their way to be helpful. The rooms were clean but dated. I was very impressed with the cleaning staff. We had switched rooms and accidentally left my wife's earrings in the vault. The cleaning staff tracked us down and returned the earrings. The resort was clean and the food was very good.
