Riu Palace Pacifico: Amazing Trip

When we first arrived, we were so impressed with the quick checkin and the amazing lobby. We were given our room, 7050, great views. two friends travelling together, and only one bed. they had no issue moving us, but we would have had to sacrifice our view, so we stayed where we were. good food, tried Kyoto and Krystal, both good. Always something great at buffet. We went for some much needed R&R, so didn't participate in activities on beach or around pool. We did walk to little town down the  [... read more]beach (Bucerias), right if looking at ocean, about 20mins walk, wear sandals, tough on feet. nice little town. good to go for a drink and lunch. Taxi back, $5. We did massages on beach heading same way, all 3 tents are good. my only complaint would be the lack of washrooms. If you are in the pool or on the beach, you have to walk to the buffet area and go downstairs. Only 5 stalls, and this washroom is the same one shared by the buffet restaurant, Krystal, and Kyoto restaurant. Not very appropriate with ppl in wet bathing suits and ppl fully dressed for a lunch using same washrooms. The maid in this area (older woman) was soooo amazing. she kept the washrooms prestine the entire week and we made sure to let her know how impressed we were with her. Drinks were good. Yes, lots of pool tiles falling off (little squares) but you could see they were collecting them and repairing at night. We went on a very quiet week Jan 8th, and it was just starting to get busy when we left, but we had no issues our week for seats around pool or ocean. Chairs are very comfy. If you've booked, I hope you have as good an experience as we did :)

Friendly Fun Vallarta: Amazing Hotel-----But

Older Hotel very clean all areas including rooms. Food is excellent. Staff very friendly.Sand coarse on bare feet, 8 lane highway in front of hotel, not for people who are walkers. Sea not for swimming

Riu Vallarta: Fantastic holiday resort!

We just returned from 2 wonderful weeks at the Riu Vallarta. We had perfect weather and the resort staff and facilities were wonderful! We found the check in went VERY fast - only a couple minutes and we were off to our room to freshen up before dinner. The front desk staff we welcoming and helpful. We loved the food - we were able to eat several times at each of the a le carte restaurants and really loved each one! They are each very different but delicious! The staff is awesome - guys serving drinks at the beach would run and get whatever we asked for - and I mean 'run'! They were so willing to serve us! The towel staff and pool staff as well were fun, happy and just added to the great time we had! Our room was great - we faced the ocean so watched the sunset from our balcony every night. All in all ... We want to go back tomorrow!

Decameron Los Cocos Guayabitos Ramada: Considering the price and 3 star..... Not Bad..!

Overall, not bad. Food was above average for a 3 star, service was great. The La Carte was pretty good and romantic with nice location up on the hill. Booze drinks were OK with lots of fruity options. Try the Banana Mama with real banana blended .What I liked the most about the complex was the versatility and spread buildings. Building 4 was located across the street with a adult only pool and bar,then later night, live entertainment and then later later the disco for the partiers. Apparently ni [... read more]cer rooms too. Building 1 is a five story highrise where the main pool and bar are located and where of the day and evening action is. This is where we stayed and we quite liked it. We had a private balcony in the back and the pool and hallway in the front. By 11pm it was dead quite as the partiers headed across the street to the disco in building 4. Perfect! Beds were a little hard though. In the morning at 9:30, there is a hotel shuttle at the main front entrance that takes you to their affiliate beach club a kilometer away that is still part of the all inclusive. Little quieter, nicer beach for sure, same food and drinks. The other buildings are guest rooms and seemed OK too. Building 2 looked good and had its own little private pool too. The buildings are dated, but the staff is always cleaning and repairing, always! Beach water was disappointing as it was murky and dark, even dirty. Not much beach front, but no shortage of chairs. Many beach merchants!! It was cool to be right in the town of Guayabitos, We explored the town on the free bicycles provided by the hotel. So,overall, it was really Ok and unique. Better than its three star rating, but certainly not a 4 star either.The location is 45 minutes out of PV and very Mexican and jungle terrain, so great cultural and geographical experience. We took advantage of the area and horse back road up in the jungley mountains. Really nice from up there! It should be said too that everyone local there including return tourist report the area is very very safe. From what I saw, I would agree. One thing about travelling to the PV side is the weather and for late December the weather was exceptional with no rain. But for us, the beach is really important and so the aqua blue waters and the white sand of the Caribbean trump the jungle and predictable good weather. Take it all in for what it is worth. From a value perspective this is a solid pick. But if you are used to a 4 or five star traveller, you will not be impressed.

Las Palmas by the Sea: Good budget resort

The resort was rated appropriately. Staff were very friendly and professional and the facilities were quaint and clean; the resort was what we expected. Budget allowed us the flexibility to explore Puerto Vallarta by bus, taxi or walking and allowed us the flexibility to explore more foodie aspects of the city and go to some interesting off site restaurants.

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Ineresting resort

The resort was huge, staff for the most part were friendly. The food was acceptable. Made new friends. Rooms were clean and the washrooms through out the resort were clean. Had a great experience with the release of baby turtles, lucky to be there for this. Will probably go back to this resort All the pools on the resort were cold

Playa Los Arcos: Los Arcos

Not much that needs improving, Old Vallarta so it is in a great location. Staff pleasant and helpful. A bit slippery around the pool. Wanted to take one of the carved doors home. Loved Angie who operates the spa because my manicure is still perfect.

Grand Palladium Vallarta: Grand palladium vallarta

We recently travelled to PV and stayed at the grand palladium Vallarta. Hotel was very clean and food was good, and staff were very friendly and helpful! You pay for what you get I wasn't happy to hear people complain about the resort as I feel it is about a 4.5 star and other people I guess don't! For the people that want to complain common I can see if you payed 15,000 or more on a trip you should expect people to jump to your needs but really reality is you won't get in anywhere. Stop complai [... read more]ning and just enjoy it for the time you travel and guess what you don't have to go back if you don't want to! All I saw the whole trip was the employees working there butts off to make the resort what it is... We travel lots and Mexico is one place you don't see employees sitting on there as* getting payed for nothing.

Playa Los Arcos: Very hospitable

The location was perfect and all the staff made our vacation very special. Spending Christmas in puerta vallarta was most exciting I would definately return here in the future. I can see why there are so many repeat customers. all the meals were very tasty and special thanks to Manuela gir my daily nachos Pico de Gallo and guacamole.

Krystal Grand Puerto Vallarta: Met our needs

Modern and attractive hotel. The room was spacious and comfortable. The food was hit and miss as was the service. The Brazilian restaurant, Fogo, was very good as was the French restaurant. The Mexican restaurant was okay. There was no nightly entertainment and this was a complaint among several other guests as well. The beach was nice but there were some rocky sand parts that were hard to walk on. We really enjoyed the adults only rooftop lounge where we spent most of our time.

Tropicana Hotel: Above average

Clean room, nice view, excellent facilities. Beaches are always clean. Close to downtown was also a plus. Friendly staff. Lots of fun....Would stay there again. And bring my friends. tripcentral.ca is the best.

Hacienda Buenaventura Hotel and Mexican Charm: Hacienda Buenaventura Hotel Spa & Beach Club

Very nice resort, nice rooms, excellent service, fantastic food, very good entertainment. Very servable and helpful stuff.Thank you for the a very good vacation we did have!!!! I will recommend to other friends to go. I'll come back!!!

Grand Palladium Vallarta: Excellent!

Great place to stay. Clean and nice layout. Bars at every pool. Bartenders very friendly and recommend drinks. Infinity Adult pool is great. Nice shows every evening. Lots of things for family to do. Would go back anytime. We love it! Friendly people!!

Grand Palladium Vallarta: Awesome Resort

We loved the food, the beach and all the beautiful landscaping. Oh and the Spa was incredible! Left the spa feeling very rejuvenated, staff was very professional. The resort was a great size, not too big or small. Everything was great, would definitely recommend.

Riu Vallarta: Riu Vallarta Dec. 2015

The hotel is getting old and it's showing. We paid for a junior suite and the room we got was bad. Dirty linen, rock hard bed and a tub we were going to fall through. People and food really good though. Because we went during Christmas and paid a higher price, we felt like the hotel didn't reflect the price.

Riu Palace Pacifico: Great resort!!

Service was excellent! This was our 2nd time there and everything was perfect. Excellent food, lots of variety, different themes every night, you don't even need to reserve other restaurants, the buffet is excellent. Staff is very friendly and helpful!

Riu Vallarta: Very nice family resort

The good: This hotel is huge and well maintained. Staff are well trained and friendly. Our room is large with a King size bed. We also requested for a crib for our two years old son which was great! The main buffet has lots of options and good and plenty. There is also a second smaller buffet by the beach(Flamingo) which opens all day for a quick bite. Cappuccino at the lobby bar is very good. It has two pools, one for the kids. Entertainment is great with kids programs every night. It may be to [... read more]o loud and last too late into the night for some families, but it was find with us. After all, we are on vacation! The not so good: The beach is on the pacific ocean. It has lots waves all day. The water is murky, the sand is not white. If you like white sand, nice clear and calm water, this resort is not for you. There is not much around the resort to see. You need to take a taxi for 10 min. to go to the next small malls for shopping. And about an hour bus to go the downtown Pureto Vallarta which has a very nice board walk along the beach with restaurants and shopping. We too the local bus there which is much cheaper and better experience. Over all, it is a nice resort for family. I would recommend it.

Grand Palladium Vallarta: Not for the faint hearted

This resort is actual great for families and adults alike, but not for those who are not fit. By this I mean that there are lots of steep stairs to negotiate, but if you take your time, it's manageable. The family section has a great Kids pool and water park which tempts the kid at heart too, but there are age restrictions, so eat your heart out Grandad. The rooms are non smoking and very comfortable and spacious. Food is abundant and tasty if a little repetitive. Drinks are available in 5 diffe [... read more]rent bars. My personal favorite was the Secret Bar and pool, which is Adult only. Meaning NO-ONE under 18, strictly observed by the tactful security staff. Beach area is ample and with a little ingenuity one can walk for miles on an extended section unspoilt by development. Staff were personable and helpful, very competent and some even multi-lingual. I'd give it 9 out of 10 for fit families and adults.

Buenaventura Grand Hotel and Great Moments: Friendly and clean.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The grounds were kept very clean, food was fresh and hot, rooms were nice and clean and the staff were helpful and friendly. In room safe, stocked fridge daily. A few blocks from the malecon. Close to grocery store, laundry etc.
