Playa Pesquero: Great resort :)

The beach was amazing, the hotel grounds were great and even the food was very good (first time I can say this about Cuba) Make sure to visit the a la cart restaurants as they offer some delicious options (although I would not recommend The Grill). Awesome holiday!

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Club Amigo is home away from home

Club Amigo is only hotel we have visited and our recent trip is our 8th time there. Never thought we ever would go in July but I found the heat was not much different than in winter months. Hotel is rated 3* but to us it's a 5* as staff members are outstanding, they truly go out of their way to make things good for you. Hotel is kept clean, our Villa room was great and beds were very comfortable. I feel so safe in Cuba that I have traveled alone once there. My mother uses a walker and there are stairs to main pool area, there is always someone either staff or guests to help her carry her walker for her down the stairs. We are booked again in November, taking two grandchildren this time and they have seen pictures and excited to go to Cuba. Thanks trip central for another stress free booking & holiday.

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Our best vacation yet!

The Paradisus Rio de Oro is a lovely resort that exceeded our expectations. No need to upgrade. The room was huge with a newly renovated bathroom. The food was great, lots of variety. The resort staff are for the most part very friendly, helpful and want you to have a very enjoyable time. The snorkelling right from the resort beach is fantastic. The pool was large and beautiful. The beach was great, no problem getting chairs and an umbrella. The resort grounds are beautiful with lots of g [... read more]ardens and the resort is surrounded by lush green space. We met and had a fantastic time with new friends met around the lobby bar and beaches. The size of the resort lent itself to meeting people and seeing them around the resort, and in our case socializing night after night with some delightful people. Between the outstanding accommodations and food plus the wonderful people we met, the vacation felt full and well spent. The trip was exciting, fun and better than we expected. We would love to go back.

Brisas Covarrubias: Great family time

Relanxing family vacation. Staff at the resort are happy and very friendly and helpful. Beach is beautiful. It is a small resort and not in the city which make it perfect to rest and relax. My kids loved the shows and games. Food and drinks are good as well.

Sol Turquesa Beach: Never go. They change their name to trick you

I was at this resort 3 years ago but it was under a different name. I got fooled by them once they changed the name and when I got there I realized I got screwed. Rooms are 1 km away. The place is on a hill so millions of stairs. The buffet was garbage. The banking lady was taking 3 hour lunches. Nobody wants to work there. Just avoid it pay a little extra and enjoy your vacation somewhere else.

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Excellent resort

The grounds are beautiful in both sides of the resort. We booked into the regular side but I was very disappointed with the beach. It was very rocky and dangerous, due to this we switched over to the Royal section. The beaches on that side were stunning, but one of them had public access for the Cuban people. It was of course very safe but if you are in an adult resort and you are sharing the beach with children it's not as peaceful. We were very happy eating in the buffet there was so much to choose from. The staff were amazing many of them have worked there for many years and lots of the guests return because of that. The rooms in the regular section were good size. The rooms in the Royal section were beautiful. I definitely would have stayed in the regular section for the whole week if the beach was what I usually see when I go to Cuba.

Playa Pesquero: Great resort better beach

The hotel was in great shape, Maintained well in comparison to others that are 4.5 Star. Staff where helpful and friendly even for Cuban standards:) Breakfast buffet was fantastic but dinner buffet needed dive more variety. Unfortunately the trip ended poorly by Sunwing because they cancelled our return home a day late just like last year in Veradero No one knew and waited in lobby for 10 hours. Never FLY SUNWING!! Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: Wonderful Cuba!

This hotel, and this area of Cuba is just excellent. The food is very good, the beach is unparalleled and the staff here can not do enough to help you. I highly recommend this hotel if you want a wonderful Cuban getaway at a decent price!

Sol Turquesa Beach: Friendly staff!!!

Memories is a very clean resort, the staff are very helpful and friendly and made our vacation. A few people are Roberto and Isbel ( bartender's) and Yeni our server in buffet. Most staffed speak good English The grounds are very beautiful!!! Lots of stairs( 80 steps from top to bottom) Food at buffet was pretty much the same everyday. Great value for your money

Playa Pesquero: Very nice and big resort!

We have spent 1 week of vacation in this resort.It is a big resort,people are very nice but even nicer if you tip them.During the weekend the beach is very crowded and people very loud. Lots of locals coming to the public beach.The pool is huge but not really clean.Room service is great. Icecream is very good!Same food everyday but with choices.No mosquitos like is other reviews.Very nice show at/in the swimming pool.

Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: Best Melia resort in Cuba

Mares y Luna is the best Melia hotel I visit so far in Cuba which include Rio de Oro Paradisus, Melia Memories and Melia Havana. There are great public places and pools, perfect beach and entrance to see, no rocks! The room was very clean and the bathroom's utilities are in good conditions. Great for families with kids. Going this place again in the fall.

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Highly Recommend

When we first arrived we were pleased that the rooms looked just like they did online - they were great! We ordered room service and the food was poor quality, which worried us (we had heard great things about the food). Turned out that all the food at the buffets and restaurants was amazing! Beach, pools, facilities are all amazingly beautiful and peaceful. Truly is Paradise!

The resort was breath taking, the grounds were beautiful, the room was very clean, always stocked with drinks and lots of water, the maid was great ! This was a great resort excellent service. Our flight was delayed 3 hrs and the hotel did not extend the checkout time. I was really disappointed about that otherwise our trip was fantastic! Thanks again Gail

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: 6TH TIME AT HOTEL

much bettwe thia time around, flew Air Transat instead of Sunwing, flight times muh better. Guy (ignorant man that is usually at front desk not around). Dealt with Magdaline, sister of hostess at re d'oro where we stayed last visit to Cuba in January 2017. We got nicer rooms, beside each other and had amazing pig roast last night. Not nice on weekends when Cubans come for two or three dAYS WITH ALL THEIR KIDS. Good hotel for price and for a boys week but would not take my wife there.

Playa Pesquero: Acceptable resort

In general our one week vacation was good but a few issues reminded us from time to time about the correspondence between the price we paid and the service we get. The resort is well spread on a rather vast territory (compared to others) and as it was pointed out in many previous reviews you need to be up for extensive walking though the shuttles do a good job. The room's interior immediately revealed the age of the resort though it was clean and well maintained. In the bathroom the tub' [... read more]s drain was not efficient enough and we had to stay in the soapy water while taking the shower. I called for a handyman but nothing has been improved and we had to tolerate that tub till the departure. Air conditioner was blowing 24/7 but it was not capable enough to drop the temperature to the set-up. In our daughter's room the temperature was much more comfortable. Variety of restaurants and quality of food was up to our expectations. The major disappointment is in the use of the beach. The beach itself and access to the ocean are perfect, water is magnificent but it turned out that the beach is not reserved only for the use of the resort's patrons but the access is also allowed to the local residents. Despite the availability of unattended sector of the beach between Playa Pesquero and the neighboring resort allocated for the locals they somehow preferred to stay close to the resort's patrons. And it was very noticeable that the beach and ocean were not their major attractions. I admit for those vacationers who spent the entire vacation next to the pool that issue is not a big deal but for us it is a deal breaker. We did not feel comfortable and completely safe with the presence of the locals (though most likely they do not have any bad intentions towards the resort's clients) and with every swim had to keep the eyes on our belongings left on the beach. At the departure the bus to airport arrived with a delay of 30 minutes but we got to the airport just in time.

The hotels 3 star rating is a fair assessment. The grounds and facility's are well kept. Many of the rooms have been upgraded since my last visit in September. Some of the front desk staff have been replaced with more friendly and accommodating staff. The staff in the bars and dining facility are really friendly and accommodating as are the staff that look after the rooms. The food in the main dinning areas has improved slightly but is still really poor at the twenty four bar and food area. In [... read more] fairness the facility is relatively empty during the weed being filled up on the weekends by affluent Cuban families. While the hotel has strict rules in keeping the sex trade off its grounds it lurking strongly nearby with guests stay at that hotel solely because of its close proximity. The beach is really great as the sand goes out quite far before the water gets deep. However it would be nice it the sand was put back by the steps from the hotel to the beach

This resort has a lot of stairs but that's what makes it beautiful ..food is great resort clean, the people are very friendly, we love how the pools cascade one into the other, The price is amazing for a 4.5 star they keep the price right down makes us want to keep going back

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Good staff....crappy place

DO NOT RENT STANDARD GARDENVIEW!! No A/c working No phone to front desk Weekends are all locals...pushy at bar. Got offers from man-whore while with my daughter. Staff was friendly and helpful....especially with small tip(well deserved) Customer relations was not helpful. Had no tv all week even though I filled out work order.....this was in the upgraded room!
