Hotel Mojito: Wonderful resort, wonderful staff!

Beautiful pool areas and beach. Entertainment each night was fabulous. Staff are very friendly. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Very attractive resort. Close to airport. Since hurricane in 2017 dining/restaurant choices are limited. The Malicon restaurant had wonderful food and service.

Muthu Colonial Hotel: Sadly Disappointed!

We feel we did not receive what we had paid for. Air Transat sold us an all-inclusive package to the Hotel Colonial by Iberostar. With this package, we were supposed to receive an air-conditioned room, a room with a working television, and hot and cold water. We had a two week vacation booked. During those two weeks, we had no air-conditioning, we had no T.V. and only 4 days in which we were able to take a warm shower. We normally do not complain but this was not acceptable. My husband went to t [... read more]he Air Transat rep, who then took him to the General Director. Both seemed "surprised" that this was the case. Only problem was, there had been many complaints brought forward by many clients......NOTHING was done. The only suggestion was to move rooms.......we chose not to because many rooms had the same problem and there was very few rooms left available!. So needless to say, we did not completely enjoy the vacation we had thought we had been sold to us. As far as we were and are concerned, it was false advertising by Air Transat and Iberostar. VERY DISAPPOINTING! The staff there are amazing and just as frustrated as much as the clients!

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Fantastic Resort - Will return

This was our 25th vacation in Cuba but the first at this resort. We stayed in the adult section and it was gorgeous. The grounds were beautiful, the adult pool was quiet at one end and the end with the swim up bar was more lively so you had the best of both worlds. The spa was very professional and peaceful. The entertainment at night in the theatre was one of the best we've seen in Cuba except for the adult themed night. It was very lame. I was truly embarrassed by the way some of the guests treated the staff by being rude and/or demanding; so to those people, get over yourself and stay home. For those who complain about the food, all I can say is, you don't go to Cuba for the food. If you are going to complain about lineups for food then go somewhere else. These people do the best they can and have to work 6 out of 7 days per week with travel times anywhere from 2 to 3 hours to and from work. I'd like to see a Canadian putting up with those rules and still keep smiling!

Iberostar Selection Bavaro Suites: A dreamy vacation

I have travelled here from Nov. 18 to Nov. 28, 2018, and can honestly say this was one of my best trips to Punta Cana in the last few years. Resort: Only half-hour away from the airport, the hotel is friendly for all types of guests: from singles/couples to bigger families. You will always find something fun to do in your own tastes, be it taking a sunbathe at the beach, bird watching along green paths, chilling out at the bar or playing active games at the pool. The location is full of natur [... read more]al vegetation; the gardens are well kept, and the orchidarium is a sweet touch. Overall, the resort is pretty large; you can access main points of interest in a walking distance (should you prefer, there are also carts available to take you wherever you need). Worthy to mention, the hotel has accommodations for people with disabilities as well. There is a store available on-site that has all the basic stuff available: snorkelling masks, swimming suits, bug repellents, sunscreen lotions, toys, snacks, souvenirs, etc. Room: The room was spacious and pretty clean; though some quick fix-ups in the bathroom would be appreciated (i.e. the mirror was covered with rust). The noise isolation was also good. The room included a mini-bar (restocked every afternoon), a safe, an ironing board, a hair-dryer, and a couple of umbrellas. I found it a bit odd that there was no “Do not disturb” sign available though, as there were at least three room service routines happening daily: room cleaning in mid-morning, towels replacement in the afternoon, and mini-bar restocking in the evening. I’ve only encountered two-three bugs during my 1.5 week stay, but would recommend brining a bug repellent regardless. Beach/Pool: The beach line is long enough to take a good walk. It gets cleaned regularly, and even though there was quit a few seaweeds in the first few days, it was cleaned promptly. The sea is shallow at the entrance and gradually gets deeper as you move forward. There are some fishes to observe; though not too many. Tons of beach chairs available and bar service was good. Very few people walking around trying to sell you stuff, though not pushy at all. There are two pools available: one for small kids (the splashing bucket is a blast!), and another one for teens and adults. There is also a bar accessible right from the pool to chill out on a hot day. Food: The food was more than adequate; tons of variety, especially for the sea food lovers. Overall, nice mix of continental and local food choices. The pool/beach grill was great for lunch and occasionally they had something cooking in the big stirfry pan close by. As for the a-la carte restaurants, I’ve tried three out of eight available (as a guest of Iberostart Bavaro Suites, you also have access to two other nearby hotels, including restaurants, casino, shops, etc.). The first restaurant I went to was “La Marimba” (Seafood), located at Iberostar Dominicana hotel. Overall, it was good; though lobster comes at a cost of US $25.00 (you can get free lobster at Bavaro Suites pretty much any day), and some more variety in the main courses would be great. The second a-la carte restaurant was at Iberostar Punta Cana, called “La Pagoda” (Oriental). Just terrible: from service to food itself. Do not recommend. Last but not least was “Jambalaya” (Cajun) at Iberostar Bavaro. Absolutely the best! Top service, great atmosphere, lots of choices and the food was delicious. Staff/Entertainment: This resort by far has the best staff! Unlike many other places, you do not have to tip to get good service (though tips are still appreciated ;) ). Friendly, professional, engaging, everyone—from janitors & gardeners to lobby desk administrators—do their best to make you feel welcomed. HUGE kudos to the animation team (Star Friends). Not only they find new ways to entertain you during the day time, they also help put up great night shows. These were by far the best shows I’ve seen in my recent trips to Caribbean, and not a single one repeated itself during the whole stay. A fly in the ointment: Up until the day preceding departure, I’ve had only positive experience with the buffet personnel; however, on the very last day the whole crew changed and new waiters were assigned. And, wow, what a change! Not a single smile; the tables stayed dirty until you pointed out, no wine being served, etc… I feel sorry for the newcomers who may have to deal with that kind of attitude, and can see how this could spoil their vacation at the otherwise great hotel. :( Overall: I would strongly recommend this resort. I would absolutely return to this place in a heartbeat!!

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: Wonderful people!!

Resort was nice. Beach was great! Employees were fantastic! Always willing to help as much as they could and were not obviously looking for tips. Our room was in the back of the resort overlooking a public road and construction. When I complained, they moved us to ocean view on our second day. Rooms were large and bathroom was new but could have been cleaner.Food was ok. There was always something you could eat. The chicken and the rice were usually good. Coffees were amazing. Iberostar Waves Paraiso Beach: Amazing Resort

This is our 9th time at this resort. It has lovely grounds, great food and very friendly staff. We highly recommend this hotel to people with disabilities as the grounds are flat and very accessible both at the pool and beach.

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Iberostar Costa Dorada

We had a really bad experience. I do not know from where to start, but this hotel is definitely not a 5 star hotel. Evening shows were very bad and not interesting at all. The service was very bad. Unfortunately I can not say anything positive about this hotel.

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: Nice Resort

Grounds are great , Service is Excellent , Rooms are clean but not great ( broken T.V. No soap dish in the shower , No Telephone ,etc.) Great entertainment every day. This is as much as I can tell you.

Hotel Mojito: Awesome staff

There where 11 of us in total all arriving and leaving on different days. The staff are so amazing always smiling and making everyone feel welcome. The rooms a commen areas where clean. Food was ok loved the alacarts, we never went hungry. Different choices for drinks, Freddy was great at the cigar bar and he also new so much history about the resort. Pool area and beach where clean and tidy. Great place 👏

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: Tired and run down

This hotel is a 2 star at best. Rooms were disgusting with wet plaster on the walls (hiding stains and mould) and the furniture looked like it had been pulled out of a dumpster. 4 of 6 in our group got sick, as did multiple other guests we talked to. The beach and weather was great, and the people were nice - that’s the most positive I can be about my experience there. The beach in Punta Cana is as good or better - go there instead!

JOIA Paraiso by Iberostar: Amazing Resort

We were a group of 7 and all of us were 100% happy with Iberostar Grand. The rooms were large and really comfortable. The maid service was quick and always left me a happy note as well as chilled champagne and a roses bubble bath. Our butler jesus was always checking on us asking how we were and if needed anything. The food was delicous! The lounge service was top line. Any drink you wanted with top of the line liquor. With popcorn! They would set them up and the chef would bring people dishes of paella.Umberto and Alberto who worked the pool bar always remembered what your drink preference was and even concocted a new drink for us called a Dirty Canadain in Mexico.We even order lemon drop shots at the swim up bar. What fun. We loved the entertainment , service, food and the customer service. Not one complaint from any of us. We all plan on going again. Worth every penny. Thanks Iberostar!

Nice rooms, good size beach and pools, great food and service. Clean and well organized. Nice shows and entertainment. Bartenders amaizing and knolegeable. Would highly recommend it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Amazing resort

I travelled week of November 19th for 7 days with my family to Iberostar Costa Dorada on recommendation from my travel agent. It was close to airport and not too crazy busy or over crowded. The weather was bright and sunny each and every day and was great to get away from the winter weather. Our room was cozy and spacious with a nice bathroom and balcony stocked daily with beer soft drinks and water. We were visited by peacocks daily walking the grounds. There were cats around but kept to themselves for most of the time. There were lovely ponds with flamingos and turtles by the main entrance. Everyone spoke english and it was easy to communicate. The check in/out experience was good. I would like to thank Christina and Naomi at the concierge desk for their warm hospitality. The bartenders: Marlon, Lito, Juan at Theclub bar. Leonardo and miguel x 2 at the pool bar. I had an amazing massage. We went to Ocean world as a day trip and swam with the sharks. The sea lions is the best show and would book that encounter next trip. They have a little beach and aquatic centre as well. My recommendations: 1) Pool revonations is a must. Concrete was falling apart in pool, at swim up bar and pool bottom so our feet got scapes. Pack water shoes. 2) Beach was a little rocky and full of seaweed. They had to shovel it daily but did not get to it too late in afternoon. Perhaps have it done early in am as it took hours. 3) Private washroom on the beach for Theclub members and snacks. Overall it was an amazing resort and birthday trip and looking for visiting more Iberostar resorts worldwide.

Very nice resort! All the staff so friendly and helpful. Excellent food everyday and lots of activities to keep you busy if you like. We loved the buffet on the beach for lunch everyday as well. We would go back again

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Fantastic all round

This property is definitely a must stay at place. The only issue we had was the first room had a few things wrong. We went straight to our sunwing rep Janel and he had it all sorted out within an hour and had us moved to another room. The staff and grounds were fantastic. I have absolutely nothing bad to say. We didnt do any of the ala carte restaurants but everyone that went had no complaints. I definitely give this a 5star rating. JOIA Paraiso by Iberostar: Amazing resort!!!

Very much enjoyed our stay at the Iberostar Grand Paraiso! This was our 4th visit and it never fails to impress. The food and the service was over the top! The facility is stunning and well kept. The entertainment is subtle but suitable to the feel and style of this resort. Highly recommend this resort for a relaxing and enjoyable vacation.

Iberostar was a pleasant surprise for me. 1st time at this place been to cuba 11 times, I would have to say it is now my favorite. The lead man for entertainment Charlie help make the vacation experience unnerving for me because it was my first time being alone. He organized a breakfast and helped the single people interacting that helped meet so many wonderful people. I never felted scared or intimated just great clean fun..

Overall a nice resort, but there were a few issues. Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Staff were just fantastic

I was first impressed by the lobby. It is open an inviting. The couch cushions in the lobby need to be replaced. The staff at the front desk were accommodating and friendly. I got locked out twice at night, once they couldn't get me in so they gave me another room for the night. The rooms were nice and clean. The beds could be updated but I did sleep well. The swim-up bar was fun to hang out at. The pool was lovely. The sand is powdery white and the ocean shades of clear turquoise. We grabbed be [... read more]er from the on site store and went out on the pier and enjoyed some quiet time out there. The food was great, yes its not Canadian style, its Cuban style but still good. There was always a great selection. The grounds were well maintained and it was nice to see regular maintenance being kept up. The only drawback this place had was there was no little town nearby to go and investigate. Once on the resort you were kinda limited to excursions. This place is great and we will go back again.

Iberostar Waves Rose Hall Beach: Amazing resort!

Loved this hotel. It was clean updated, food was great diffrent type of food every night and the staff was always friendly and willing to help. The beach was amazing crytal clear. I would love to stay at this hotel again.
