Melia Jardines del Rey: Awesome resort, staff and amenities

The resort had everything one needed for a vacation stay: three buffets, six a la cartes, three snack bars, and not one, but two pools with swim up bars. The Promenade featured the a la Cartes as well as two Churro stations and the Ice Cream bar and more. I might have missed some as well! The large, clean, airy rooms were fully equipped. Who really irons while on vacation?? Not me, but I could have! We even had a king sized bed (a first for me in Cuba). The staff were all friendly and  [... read more]

Melia Jardines del Rey: Great Value! wonderful Beach!!!!

So let's start off this review by using the phrase "managing expectations".....my wife and I have never been to Cuba before so of course this was our first time. The Melia Jardines Del Ray is one of quite a few Melia's in Cuba. It is by far one of the Larger ones easily having a total customer population of 2000..... It has a little over 1000 rooms and is quite a large Facility. Staff were very friendly and the overall condition of the Resort was pretty good. You can tell although that is doe [... read more]

Hotel Vigia: Sol cayo Guillermo soothsayer the Soul.

We were at this resort for the 6th time. We were helped by staff (Yani Danny) t o finally get settled in a room close to the dinning, room, pool, and lobby. I have difficulty walking and the 1st. assigned room was way too far. We truly enjoyed our time at this little jewel of a hotel in Cayo Guillermo. Hopefully we will return again.

Melia Las Americas: Love this Resort!

This was our 5th time going to the Melia Las America’s. Very clean rooms, food is great, amazing staff and if you enjoy golf as we do the course is excellent! Lots of people return to this resort every year and we cant wait to go back!

Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: A resort to consider

The nature is fantastic, but the service is down. It is obvious that the management and the capital spending on some activities are not adequate. Activities (billiard, tennis, water sports …) are not well supported, bars are cheap, lifeguards by the pools were not adequate and it almost caused a tragedy. My personal vacation was great; nevertheless, I know this place for more than a decade and can say that this place had much better times.

Melia Jardines del Rey: So much potential

We liked the property, the room, the location, the beach and some of the restaurant but the resort had a terrible buffet and the staff was a bit unwelcoming. The pools were amazing but they are cold !

Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: Quiet resort

The hotel and surroundings were beautiful but the rooms were quite dated. Upon arrival we were directed to our room but we promptly turned around and refused to stay in it as it was very dark and smelt like mold. We were given another room which initially seemed much better but after a day or two we realized that it was also very damp and our bed sheets needed changed everyday as they felt wet. We both got sick. The beach is absolutely gorgeous and the sand is like flour. The food is better t [... read more]

Sol Cayo Coco: Overall lovely.

- Clean, bright rooms - Nicely sized, small resort - Best food I've ad in Cuba - Good evening entertainment and fun daytime activities - Really cute bar on second beach accessible from resort - Some worn lounge chairs need to be replaced - No beer in room fridge - Friendly staff but service inconsistent

Hotel Camino del Mar: We made the best of it but will def not return or recommend.

Resort lacked much. Everything was abit less than what we are used to. Rooms are tired although very clean. Many days i had no hot water to shower. They are renovating the rooms but they are an upgrade. Food was not much to be desired. By day 4 it was difficult to find something i wanted to eat. There were no eggs one morning...whats that ??..not boiled, fried or omelettes. One omelette bar going when there was eggs. (very slow) Entertainment most nights was in the lobby. Not much fo [... read more]

Melia Las Antillas: Disappointed, first time writing a poor review.

The grounds are very nice and of course the beach is spectacular as are most beaches in Cuba. We have been to Cuba 13 times and this time we were disappointed. To be more specific, the bathrooms were very neglected. The cleaning staff never properly cleaned the bathtubs and they were very bad. It was not just one room, we were a party of 8 and all 4 bathtubs were nasty. In addition, the service at the main bar was laughable, don't even know where to begin but in a 8 day stay I can honestly  [... read more]

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: A pleasant place

The resort is all-inclusive, and is a good option for those wanting a worry-free vacation. You can choose to lay by the pool or on the beach. At the beach, you can enjoy some pleasurable free water sports. The food is mediocre; however, the specialty restaurants are really very good. You can take the local double-deck bus into the small town of Varadero, and enjoy the limited shopping and quaint cafes. For a truly Cuban experience though you should plan on spending an extra week in Havana.

Tryp Cayo Coco: Spectacular Resort

This was our first time visiting the Tryp. It was only about a 15 minute shuttle bus ride from the airport. Upon our arrival the staff were quick to check us in and accommodating so we could have our room close to our friends that came in the day before. The room was neat and very clean. The showers had great water pressure and no issue with flushing the toilet. Our housekeeping was very friendly and had a smile on her face every day. Our room's location was perfect. A short distance walk [... read more]

Melia Peninsula Varadero: Absolutely loved this resort!

Beautiful grounds and an even more beautiful beach. Food was good, staff were wonderful. The Japanese a-la-carte restaurant was entertainment in itself. Rooms were spacious and clean. Would definitely return!

Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Melia Cayo Santa Maria

The renovations that they did after the hurricane are beautiful and the resort is kept very clean. We were a little disappointed this year with the food selections and the number of things that they ran out of. None of the restaurants had shrimp and lobster was available at a price of 18 CUC ($26 Cdn) which I thought was too expensive. Service was not as good as it has been, as the staff say that they are always understaffed. There was only one person working the pool bar and trying to serve [... read more]

Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Lovely resort

/Excellent value for your money. The grounds are beautiful, almost as beautiful as the beach. Friendly staff, clean room. In particular, Juan Carlos at the lobby bar was so hard working. Would definitely stay again.

Sol Palmeras: Good place to stay

First time going to Cuba glad we picked this resort. The resort itself is large somewhat older but very clean & spacious but, that means a lot of walking to get from the 3rd floor rooms to the restaurants, lobby etc even with using the elevators. The resort could use several more washrooms in & around, again a lot of walking from the beach or when you are outside on the resort grounds which may pose a problem if you have difficulty getting around. The pools are kept clean, the beach is simply  [... read more]

Melia Las Antillas: OK resort

The resort was dated and tired! We were with a big group one tub was almost rotted through, 2 tubs were black on the bottom, our bedroom had questionable stains on the bench cushions. First night there was no water or air conditioning. It wasn't busy and the staff was friendly enough. Great staff and activities available at the beach!

Melia Jardines del Rey: Not the greatest resort!

This was our second time to this resort, we were there last year. So dissapointed. The resort ran out of beer, wine, bread, french fries, there was only one buffet opened, the beach bar at the far end of the resort was closed but one day, some toilets did not flush or had no toilet seat and the doors did not close; the smell of sewage was everywhere; we saw the beach restaurant pump out what looked like grey water that smelled like sewage out in the walking path to the beach, the water just pool [... read more]
