Royalton Cayo Santa Maria: Enjoyable stay

The resort is nice, but not without its faults. The staff try very hard to please and are generally very accommodating. Some attention to detail would go a long way with improving the quality of the stay.

Valentin Perla Blanca: Wow

Beautiful resort. Service was great, Al Le carte dinners were fantastic, although the buffet food was lacking. Beach was beautiful water was crystal clear! Had an amazing time and would 100% go back anytime of the year.

Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Beautiful resorts

While we travelled going to the resorts the view is beautiful,its a good experience to see this beautiful scenery and we are excited to see the resorts,I was amazed when we arrived to the resorts.All the employees are very nice and friendly.,everythings wonderful,they have recreation for the kids,the pools,beach is beautiful,The kids enjoyed everyting, the foods were okey and the room is very clean and cozy.

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Beautiful resort

We just returned from one week at Iberostar Ensenachos. We were given a free upgrade to the Spa section. The room was very clean and spatious. The AC worked well and it was quiet. The beach was amazing, clean, no sea weed and plenty of space in the shade. Food was good, many kinds of cheese, we had often grilled fish, crepe or eggs in the morning. The cig [... read more]ar bar became our favourite as it was playing Cuban music and the bartender was very friendly and curteous. I wish it was more Cuban music playing in the resort lobby. During the whole week there was no dancing in the resort and i missed it. The entertainment was very little, after the show there was nothing happening, not even music in the background in the lobby, just a couple of people playing cards.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: Not up to 4+ Cuban Standards

FOOD: food quality was POOR as every day it was a "survival of the fittest" feeling. You cannot sleep in or have a late lunch as the buffets ran out of the basic foods such as bread/buns, melons, mangoes, bacon, fish, cheese. There never seemed to "be enough" for all? (people were not even taking an excessive amount per). No chicken or shrimp ever. Even ran out of napkins, clean plates, cutlery, draft beer (beach bar), tonic, clean beach towels. FACILITY: our room cleaner was superb, the Lobby server and butlers were always attentive to us and ensured that we were satisfied. Lobby M/F washrooms were never cleaned/attended to throughout the day (flooding floor, no toilet paper, only 2/5 stalls were available for use). BEACH: beautiful beach waters!!!!!! "Picture perfect" Complaints were from many resorts on this island, even from people who stayed at Royalton!

Starfish Tropical Cayo Santa Maria: So much potential

This hotel could be a beautiful hotel. Needs some work to get it there. Simple things like lighting in the bathrooms and on walkways needs to be better. The public bathrooms in the lobby area and buffet area are terrible. The lobby bar is very nice, but the rest of the bars are well below par. 24 hour snack bar only has hot dogs and the occasional ham and cheese sandwich. Best thing about this hotel is the staff. From the cleaning staff To the entertainment staff everyone is so friendly.

Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Amazing resort

Very nice hotel, very clean areas, amazing staff and great food. Staff are very flexible and would always accommodate our request. Kids love the food in the specialty restaurants. It was wavy on the beach during our vacation but our overall stay were great. Thank you to all staff for accommodating all our request.

Starfish Tropical Cayo Santa Maria: Good resort😁

The best things about the resort were the friendly and non pushy staff, beautiful gardens, and beautiful beach. Rooms were clean. Had an issue with my door lock which was addressed and fixed quickly. Food was OK to good most days with a great selection on 2 days. Some issues with restocking items on the buffet. Local guests frequently took most of some items so that little left for others....and then not restocked - would advise to get to buffet early. Kudos to the gentleman who very cheerfully  [... read more]made omelettes every morning! Bartenders friendly, especially at the beach bar and lobby bar. Concerned that staff does not reinforce the no smoking in and around the pool rules - mostly locals doing this. Didn’t help that the pool was murky daily. People smoking on the beach should be forced to put their used butts somewhere other than the sand and ocean....maybe also some garbages for people to dispose of used plastic glasses.

Resonance Blu Santa Maria: Great resort with white sand beach!

The environment is very attractive and great to relax with the pool and beach. We enjoyed the food served in the resort. The children had the opportunity to stay active with games such as table tennis, billiard, darts and other board games. They love the fact that they have had the access to these any time they want to and they were able choose in between. The environment in the resort was safe and entertaining. meeting different people from different parts of the world was also great. Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: 2nd AMAZING Visit to Iberostar Ensenachos

This is our 2nd visit to the resort....and it was more impressive than the first time!! Even after the hurricane the resort looks amazing! Overall you will be very impressed by the service, the food and of course the beautiful beach.

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: Has potential

Great beach, newer rooms with inconsistency of things working like balcony doors. Food just eat the pastas, stay away from any fish, hamburgers are not good, just get hotdogs not sausages - trust me. The usual no ketchup or catsup lol. Staff is good until cubans stay on the weekend as staff has to assist them before anyone else. Not really a young group resort.

Valentin Perla Blanca: Amazing Resort!

I like the room and the view around the resort. Nice bedding arrangements. Wish they would change the linen more frequently. They don't clean the toilet that well. They didn't provide toiletries after 3 days. Frog scared me almost fell off from the stairs. Kitty's around so lovely and friendly. Anyway they won't let you starve food is flooded but you need to be careful sitting on the toilet for couple hour.

Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Loved it!

I have been to Cuba 7 times now - 6 different resorts, and 4 different cities. Playa Cayo Santa Maria was by far the best resort I have stayed at in Cuba so far. The beach is gorgeous with plenty of chairs and not only a beach bar, but BBQ as well. The people are so friendly, and the food was great. Can't say enough about it.

Hotel Roc Casa del Mar: I will NOT Book this Hotel Ever Again

The Resort 1. I had no electricity/ hydro for a day. 2. I had no TV for four days (it was on and off during the entire stay). 3. My telephone in the room didn’t work for 4 (four) days. 4. The bathroom/shower was awful. Every time I needed to take a shower I was flooding the entire floor of the bathroom. I wanted to take a decent shower and I could because I had to collect the water from the floor and clean up everything time after every shower, in order to prevent a flooding. Final I fou [... read more]nd a solution, I was taking a shower late at night at the beach shower. That way I didn’t have mop and clean the entire bathroom floor after I took a shower and most importantly I was standing straight. The Food and the Drinks and Bartenders As a beginning I would like to share with you that I will never in my life will imagine that a very dry and poorly made, most probably frozen burger and a few “hush browns”, as the Cuban personal at the restaurants have called them, will be the best meal that I will ever have. Here are a few observations of my stay: 1. The food in the buffet was terrible and tasteless and 75% and more of the menu was served for breakfast, lunch and dinner (cold cuts, a few vegetables, a few different kind of rise and a few different fish dishes) 2. I was wondering why in a country which grows mangos, pineapples and papaya year round they will serve you juice from a can? You can tell it is can juice because it has this very specific metal smell from the can, when you drink it. 3. I have asked for scotch and my drink was served to me in a red wine glass. I will accept that in a 2 star hotel but I in a 5 star luxury resort - this is unacceptable. 4. I have asked for a dry Martine and I got a scotch glass with on ice or olive. What a nonsense... 5. I am not sure how many bartenders are in the resort, but a few of them at the main bar, below the main lobby, were constantly grumpy and absolutely not pleasant to deal with. I purposely avoided them ant I have spent my tips money on more pleasant, always smiling and welcoming bartenders. I was extremely disappointed and disgusted by the service at Ocean Casa del Mar and my vacation was not pleasant and not enjoyable.

Valentin Perla Blanca: Needs Improvement

The hotel was very clean and lovely but unfortunately it was also very inconstant. Right from the moment of check-in we were given an incorrect room, when trying to fix the issue we were told each time to come back the next day. It was never solved for the week. We were given a room with two twin beds, and their only solution for us was that they could send someone up to push the two beds together. We were also told by staff that the resort only had about 350 guests at the time, so this ma [... read more]de us wonder why they were unable to accommodate us when we didn't get the room we paid for. For the most part the beaches and pool were great. The food was satisfactory. There was a definite shortage with the a la carte restaurants, and some guests were only able to reserve one for the week since they had no availability.

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Great resort to relax!

The resort overall is excellent, staff are very nice and the beaches are super! The resort covers a lot of activities and it was spacious and nice and clean. The fishing by the beach or snorkeling are amazing! The water are so clean and we saw many different sea creatures just by the shore itself. The only disappointment is the food, to be specific the hygiene. The chefs used the same cooking utensils for both raw and cooking food and there were flies all around. Luckily I read the review  [... read more]before going and prepared all kinds of medicine, my family of 4 all caught diarrhea after the first day. Must prepared your own medicine or first aid kit. And remember to bring enough sunscreen lotion, the hotel store didn't sell it, we brought 3 and used them all up before our one week vacation and there is nowhere you can buy it. Other than that, the staff are very entertaining and they all work hard, from the reception, the restaurants, the pool, the beach, the show and the cleaning staff. They are all very friendly and show their best to give us a relax and comfort holidays.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: beautiful beach, wonderful ocean

Nice and warm hosting, very diligent staff, ready to comply to your needs, very bad internet connection. Best color of send ever seen, beautiful turquoise see trough ocean water, big variety of food and drinks. I would have liked to be able to bring our family chihuahua member, but I guess we cannot have everything :)

Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Wonderful 4th Visit

My husband and I were here for our 4th visit July 6th-13th and had a fabulous time. I was fortunate to win this trip from our local radio station 96.7 Chym FM and Tripcentral and was very excited since we had visited 3 prior times and knew what a great resort this is. Yailet, who is also in customer service was also very lovely and set up many of our a la carte dinners. The resort is still as beautiful as our previous visits with the grounds lush and inviting. Many beautiful birds and butterflies to be seen. We were fortunate to be able to dine at the a la carte restaurants most evenings with the exception of our return guests dinner. This resort really does appreciate their return guests and make them feel very important. I was amazed how many staff remembered us even though it has been over 3 years since our last visit. We were also invited to a return guests lunch which was absolutely fabulous. The beach is second to none, long beautiful flat beach in both directions where you can walk for miles. We did this one day and wouldn't recommend during mid day, lol. Food and drinks were great, we have no complaints there at all. The ice cream hut is great - lovely to see Katy every afternoon! Great staff at the snack bar, so many friendly faces to name! Housekeeping was great, had some issue with our door and they went out of their way to help get into the room. The resort is beautiful, clean abd nicely decorated. The employees will go above and beyond to see a smile on your face. Buffet food isnt the greatest but the a la carte restaurants were great. Very lively but still quiet. great for all types of vacations for all ages
