Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Amazing people and beautiful resort.

We arrived at the resort and we received a warm welcome back as returning guest. Everyone was kind and accommodating for our needs and wants. The resort was clean the grounds well maintained and the food was good according the the circumstances caused by Covid. The rooms are large with separate living area and the bed was comfortable. The beach and the ocean were perfect always plenty of sun beds. The PRC was done in the resort and the next day we were able to pick up the results, very conven [... read more]ient. Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Great stay at Royalton Hicacos

It was a great week, hotel is well maintained, staff are very helpful. The food and drinks are typical for Cuba, as experienced before during other stays before COVID. Because of COVID the hotel was only 30% full (my estimation), swim-up bar at the pool, gym and night club were not open, but on the plus side, you could always find good spots on the beach. COVID protocol requires testing on arrival at the airport in Cuba, results were deliver [... read more]ed next day, everybody was negative, we were told. Three days before returning, we arranged a PCR COVID test at the hotel medical office, we got the results next day (this test is required to get back to Canada). When we landed in Canada, we got tested again, got the results in two days. Being fully vaccinated, no further quarantine is required, so almost back to normal. Looking forward to going back sometime in the winter.

Club Kawama: Awesome resort!!!

Everything was just awesome and fabulous...I had amazing time...well deserve trip...will do it again soon...recommend to anyone to go to Varadero Cuba...before people the staff r just so friendly an customer service beautiful 😍...

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Royalton Heaven

This resort was more than a 5*! The staff is AMAZING! The service they provide was above and beyond all expectations. The food was the best I’ve had in Cuba. The location is perfect, the beach is stunning! It was a perfect vacation!

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Awful experience

The beach and ocean were splendid and perfect, nothing to complain about. The room had a rat/rats living there. We switched rooms no problem, but the next one had no working A/C. There was not much food to eat, rarely any proteins or fruits and vegetables. A lot of COVID tests to do but that is expected if you are to travel these days. if you want to travel comfortably, bring euros with you because that’s the main currency accepted nowadays.

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: Iberostar plays alamada

The hotel was amazing. Rooms where spacious and clean. Food impeccable and varied. Beach has beautiful white sand and water was clear blue and serene. Bus came frequently to take everyone into town. Very fun and interesting activities.

Resonance Blu Varadero: Amazing resort

It's been over a year since I took my vacation to Cuba and stayed at Memories Varadaro Beach Resort. I was hoping to take another trip to Cuba but with the global pandemic, unfortunately that was not an option. However, my experience at this beautiful resort was unforgettable. Club Kawama: maybe amazing for me: bad

The room provided at the hotel didn't have hot water, security box not functioning, no tv, dirty windows, dirty towels, spiders I reported this to the desk immediately and I gave a copy of the report to Yordy, the Sunwing rep There was a promise of changing the room and they changed it with a worse one: all of the above and a terrible noise from the external air conditioning So after hours and hours day and night of waiting getting no answer from the desk being tired and dirty, sleepless in  [... read more]Varadero, I took the decision to go ahead and rent a room for the remaining period (I have a receipt from the renting house outside the hotel for I paid extra) when of course I didn't take advantage of any breakfast or supper

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Well priced resort with great staff

Went early December. Flight, entry into Cuba all good. I enjoyed my stay at the hotel for the following reasons: the staff was wonderful, the level of cleanliness was adequate, given that it was Cuba with its limited cleaning supplies, the beach area was clean, grounds well tended, the bars relatively well stocked. I felt safe at the resort - the staff all adhered to Covid protocols - wore masks and shield inside and out. The cons- no hot water first day in our room - however fixed quickly - Lock on our door was faulty and had to be serviced twice - which was annoying - however - it was dealt with quickly. Towels clean but always had that musty smell which was a real turnoff - music drove is crazy in the lobby - because the same music was played by the DJ every night of our one week stay - everyone was complaining- easy fix! Now for the food - except for a few meals - I found the food to be terrible - I am used to terrible food in Cuba and understand the food shortage problem - but nonetheless the food was bad. Generally the food was recycled, the fish was overcooked, the beef tough, and there were no fresh veggies to speak off - except occasional green tomatoes and cucs. Plus the food was extremely salty - as is the norm in Cuba it seems. I did acquire a bad stomach problem for 2 days - was it the food? water? and had to spend one day in bed! A quick survey of other guests suggested to me that whatever this was affected a number of the guests randomly throughout the resort - including Cuban guests.

Melia Internacional: We loved this resort!!

We were at Melia December 2019 for one week. The resort is absolutely beautiful. It’s big, modern and very clean. Lot’s of bars to get a drink. Rooms are clean, food was delicious and plenty of drinks. Bartenders are friendly. We were at the beach a lot and used the beach bar. The bartenders there were absolutely great. The beach was very big and very beautiful. The sand and water were perfect. We took long walks along the beach. Food was delicious and plenty to choose from. The entertainme [... read more]nt was different than your usual resort entertainment. Every night was something different and unique and in different parts of the resort. This was the best resort I’ve ever been to. And I’ve been to many. I would definitely go back to this one. We were planning to go back in December 2020 but can’t because of Covid. One week wasn’t enough. Next time I’d love to go for 2 weeks especially with everything that’s gone on for the past year. This is a resort for age groups 30’s/40’s, singles, and families.

Starfish Jibacoa: Below par Resort

This was my worst experience in Cuba. the resort grounds were a 7, staff some were nice and others were not friendly at all, 6, food was absolutely awful , ZERO, liver and fish everyday for lunch and dinner.It was overrun with feral cats and dogs, which attacked 3 people and nothing done about it. Could not get beer at the Lobby bar until after 10:30 pm or you could "BUY", so much for all inclusive. So many rude Cubans staying at the resort with so many loud and rude children. The beach was very nice and typical of Cuba , too bad everything else was well below other resorts. Another example you get what you pay for, the low price was definitely not worth it.

Sol Palmeras: Sol Palmeras Cuba

Our rating for this Hotel would be 3 star. I have mix feelings about this place as far as the staff is concern mostly all the women staff were lovely friendly and helpful. We were in a group of 6 and myself and a friend were celebrating our birthdays.The coordinator I think Nancy was very helpful and arranged for us both to have cakes for our celebration at one of their à la carts.The Italian was the best. They continuously ran out of wine and beer it was odd that if they did open a bottle of wine in front of you they would go in the back room and it seemed they were watering it down why wouldn’t He pour it in front of you very unusual.the hotel is in need of major Reno the bathroom especially very run down all vent dirty and very old. The entertainment was ok . The beach was beautiful white sand but needed to be raked up lots of dangerous bit and pieces have to be very careful. Towel and Palapas we’re ample. Palma Real: Good resort for the price

Arrived in late and had no problems with getting the room I had requested.The resort has had some updates since last year but could still have more.The room service was very good clean towels every day and two great maids Yuni and Margarita. Apron arrival Felix was there to take our luggage to our room.In the dining room Yandry always had a smile and a table reserved.The second knight of our stay the resort had a special dinner for repeat guests and a bottle of Cuban rum sent to the room.The st [... read more]ay for the week we were there was very relaxing.

Barcelo Solymar: Great experience first time to Cuba

One thing is for sure.. book the bungalow do not stay in the building! Absolute mess and moldy musty smell. Couldnt breath. Finally I asked to change rooms after 3 days. At first it wasnt too bad but overtime it felt like it was getting worse so I upgraded. Work with the front desk for a deal to the bungalow. It is definitely worth it! Food is meh A la cart seafood was my best meal all week. Book it. If you want a real nice meal go into Varedero or a hidden Gem in Santa Maria called La Fiesta Del Carbon jst a little outside Varedero. Worth it trust me. $10 cab to get there. This place I would reccomend for 20-40. Def a party spot as it is about a 5 min walk to the clubs in town. But I think it lacked women. Lol, too many dudes when I went but I think people jst reccomend this resort because of the young crowd so all guys go there and the ratio from men to woman is very dominant to the men side in my opinion during the time I went. Family's dont bother trust me, not so good for kids as it can be noisy during all times. Overall great experience, the beach of course is beauty and the whole stay at one play at 2 resorts was cool but I would prob not return to this resort only because I never go back to a resort I've already been to. If anything maybe I go back with friends only because of the staff. Your call dont overthink it but definitely get the bungalow!

Starfish Varadero: Beautiful

Truely the rooms and hotel are beautiful the staff very friendly and helpful. My only complaint is that you are so far out and everything closes at 5 or 6 including the pool when traveling with kids it would be nice for something open other then the bars

Iberostar Origin Bella Vista Varadero: Amazing

Great rooms the wiev fantastic the resort great lots to do it from massages tennis gim walking the food was ok but the employees very friendly and funny the teatre good shows everynight lot to do at the beach from voliball walking on sand meet new people s I was there for a week and I had great time and I will go back again I was at Cuba fees time but this is my favorite resort

Barcelo Solymar: Love this place

We have stayed at the Barcelo Solymer 3 times now and love it, hotel is a bit dated, but they continue to do upgrades. the staff is amazing. anytime we had any issues they were dealt with immediately. we will be going back again

Palma Real: great resort

the food was amazing alot better then sun beach the grounds were ok needed a bit work on the pool grounds but was ok other then are room door not locking due to the door was kicked in before and the safety bar in tub was not safe and electricity was bad and oh wait no light bulbs lol had a great time to come home to isolation id go back again

Paradisus Varadero: Good 5-star-ish Resort

Our 4th time in Cuban resorts Excellent place for families with children. Very friendly staff, excellent reception desk. Great layout of the grounds. Everything is close (except sports), incl. gym and medical clinic. No other hotel can match the views from their main cafeteria and snack bars. Washrooms very close (even to the beach) and very clean. Service + BBq on the beach: impeccable Beach: excellent, protected from the big waves, unlike other places in Varadero. Plenty of spaces, no need [... read more] to fight for shade or loungers, good quality towels. Tip: bring swimming shoes as first 5 meters into the water are rocky Swimming pool: beautifully renovated with 1 annoying defect: no shades at all (at least, not yet). What a pity! Beach bar: very average, as bartenders are not on the pool side, serving first people coming from behind. Good size rooms (but no place to sit, needs a sofa or something) and balconies. Tip: Check all equipment and toilet and get them fixed ASAP Food: poor diversity. You definitely have to go to fine dining: Japanese and Brazilian being the better ones Free 1-hour Internet every day, can be banked for next day. Very fast line. Don't forget, get your Internet card every day at the reception. Entertainment: would give it 3 stars, max. Varadero always windy in March. Too bad for snorkeling at the hotel's beach. A few mosquitoes at night, unless they spray. 1 Cuban Peso tip (plus a little extra for the housekeepers) is very well received. Plan a budget of 10 pesos per day. The waiters wil bring you change for your bills.

Playa Vista Azul: wonderful experience at Oceans Vista Azul

Our second trip to the resort provided an even better experience than the first. We upgraded to privilege package which allowed us to stay in a separate area with its own pool, restaurant, bar areas as well as customer service area to handle all of our needs. The 8 month old facility was spectacular with everything you could want in a suite. Having a patio overlooking the pool became our breakfast go to place each morning. A couple snags with housekeeping that were addressed immediately. WIFI was vastly better than 2 years ago, had no issues at all there.Food was good overall, they tend to over cook fish and meat so note to ask how you want it cooked. House wine is poor I suggest you buy a couple bottles at duty free and bring them to the dinner with you. If you have kids its a good idea to bring the mini restaurant condiment packages for ketchup, peanut butter etc. The beach is a bit of a hike and somewhat crammed but still quite nice with lots of sand, beach activities, cabanas, and loungers. An inflatable floatie for the pool or ocean would work well if we thought of it. Staff overall were great to deal with.
