Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Good Resort

Everything was awesome for a 3 + resort. Rooms were clean and up to date. Food was good as well. The beach was awesome and the snorkelling was fantastic. Service was great and you were always greeted with a smile, would reccommend this place to anyone who is looking for a great resort for a great price,

Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: Great nature, beach and snorkeling

Pros: + hotel is close to the beach and dining hall + gardening is well maintained with various plants and flowers + great beach with enough shadow, snorkeling + fish is close to shallow water if you throw bread to them + national reservation area within 5-min walk to the east Cons: - white waters after the rain (probably from the roofs) - room with broken shower switch - room floor was not cleaned regularly but was clean in general - food variety was rather repetitive - service at  [... read more]dining hall is sometimes bad if you don`t give tips (should give a tip at the very end, not at the beginning or middle of the service)

Brisas Guardalavaca: a nice resort

I found the staff very nice except the reception desk, not too helpful nor good English. We were told the second day there that a towel was missing from the first day we arrived. There were only 3 towels and she said 4. It did get resolved but upsetting both for us and the cleaning lady. We had no plugs for the bathtub nor any hot water a few times and we had to get them to fix the shower as that didn't work a few times either.. The food was good, the pizza great. Milk was warm never cold. Th [... read more]e tour guide on the bus going to the hotel was great. He made sure all luggage was there and that we got checked in ok. The guide going back to airport not so good, I needed help as I lost my Cuba visa and needed to get a new one - he didn't know what to do plus didn't help to which line we were to go in. We got into the wrong line and was going to Cancun. Over all we enjoyed the tours and had a great time.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: our favorite resort

We just love staying at this resort as the staff is so amazing. They are all so friendly and helpful. I lost my purse and as I got to the front desk one of the staff was just handing it in. We were in the "barracks" and our room was very clean. Our maid was so nice. Again we met so many nice people. Love our breakfast at the 24 hr. bar. Going back again!!

Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Always the best

Everything and everyone was anazing I have stayed there 10 times now and always return. I love the staff they go above and beyond to make you feel at home and relaxed. Entertainment is excellent. The beach is.m beautiful and sandy. The gourmet restaurant is a must especially the asparagus salad and the chicken. The room was very comfortable. I travelled alone and always felt safe

Sol Turquesa Beach: Great time

This is our 3rd time at the resort only because we love the people that work there.... the resort itself is starting to get run down they need to fix slot of things ... example more washrooms better selection of food the beds need to be changed I had bed bug bites got checked when I got home was not happy about that I really don't think we will go back

Paradisus Rio De Oro: 50 th. Wedding Anniversary

Best vacation we ever had. The 5 star resort have thought of everything. Our accommodations were fresh and clean, we had a first level corner unit with beautifully kept gardens surrounding it. The food was excellent with 4 restaurants and the buffet. The people working at the resort were so helpful and respectful. We were there to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary and are already planning our 51st anniversary at the resort next year.

Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: good hotel

I have been to this resort many times. They have expanded but have not expand the amenities. Too long of a wait for buffet and not enough beach chairs or huts to meet the new section. Hope they get these things fixed. The staff is very good and does make up for some of the issues. I would recommend but with cautions.

Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Better than ever!

We just returned home from a 2 week stay at the Blau Plus Section. There have been a lot of improvements over the past year. The grounds are well kept and new plants being put in the ground daily. Lots of painting and maintenance has been done and being done now. We enjoyed ourselves to the fullest. The only problem I had was the long line ups at the buffet, especially at breakfast time. It appears that they expanded while including the Plus Section, but didn't expand the buffet. Other than that [... read more] it was an awesome trip. The people are as friendly as ever at the resort. Arriannna and Gary are awesome. If you see Artriannna in the buffet , as she is a waitress, please give her a tip of any kind, she really does a great job and is a very hard worker. Gary at the Plus swim up bar is an awesome bartender as well.

Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Great Resort

The resort was great and clean.the people were were so great and helpful . They tried to do everything that you asked of them. There was so many different kinds of food so there was food for any one who was hard to feed .I would advice you to update to plus section.The rooms are bigger and cleaner . The plus gets you a special section of your own pool area.Also you get your own bar and special drinks at the bars. The beach area is so sandy and clean also . Playa Pesquero: Nice resort!

First time to Cuba....beach was great and the resort had lots of activities! Pool was beautiful and there was always lots of loungers available. Resort is currently under renovations which took away from our overall experience.

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Bird Paradise

My husband and I truly enjoyed the Paradisus Rio De Oro. The Staff was amazing and the whole resort was kept pristine. I have been to Cuba many times and this is the most peaceful and lush place I have been. I have never seen so many birds in one place, they love all of the foliage and their songs are beautiful. If you are looking for tranquility you must visit this place.

Resort was one of the nicest resorts I have stayed at. No problems at all very well run. staff very friendly, food whatever you wanted anytime beach pool all great. Room beautiful. Would love to go again and would definitely recommend resort.

Brisas Guardalavaca: Worst Day at Brisas is still better than the best day at work.

Another amazing vacation. So relaxing, which is what I needed. Didn't care that it was overcast and windy as ole heck the entire time I was there. It had been 7 years since my last visit to Brisas... the changes are major improvements. The a la carte restaurants - Cuban, International and Buchanero were fantabulous. No shortage in food choices and for first time - I gained weight on a visit and it wasn't from drinking. It's a special kind of customer service. I will keep going back any chance I can get... as long as Westjet offers the vacation.

Brisas Guardalavaca: Great hotel amazing resort

This hotel is amazing to stay at the staff is friendly and the place is clean. The outside area is always being clean and ground keepers are friendly and some are very talented in making things out of leaves. The pool is always has thing going on and is very clean.

Brisas Guardalavaca: A reliable resort that makes you feel home.

Had a great time at Brisas. This was our 5th visit. The food was great, with great service. I would definitely consider returning in the future. We had a relaxing vacation. The resort is doing the best to keep the facility looking great and provide lots of great food choices and unique entertainment in the evenings.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Basic and okay resort

I booked this hotel, standard room ("the barracks"), to meet up with family. Should note that I usually stay at 4.5 or 5 star resorts. Rooms were VERY basic, with no balcony or fridge. Double bed was quite uncomfortable, with springs popping through. Lucky I was on my own so I could maneuvre around them! However the room was quite clean, although old and outdated. Every day there was an inexpensive "special upgrade" offer -- could get a better room for about 40 pesos a week -- but I stay [... read more]ed where I was because my room was just a few doors away from family. Expect upgrade would be worth it if available and booked at resort. Always something decent to eat - nothing fancy and repetitive. Staff overall very good and helpful with a couple of exceptions. Grounds need quite a bit of repair...watch your step! Main hotel pool drained after I arrived for cleaning and maintenance. Apparently quite a bit of work going on to remedy some of these things in time for upcoming travel agent convention at this hotel in next few months. Pirate beach bar very nice - great mojitos and fresh papaya in rum punch. Overall, remember you get what you pay for. Go with an open mind - for the sun (hopefully) and you will likely have a good time :)

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Quiet Small 5 * Cuban resort

I was overall very pleased with this resort. It was good value for a 5 star Cuban resort. This is my 6th trip to the Caribbean (Negril Jamacia, Maya Riviera Mexico, Cayo Coco Cuba, Varadero Cuba) and have enjoyed all the trips and been pleased with every experience. We normally travel with a large group but on this trip we went as just a couple. Cuba is still the best value in the Caribbean for a sunny vacation. It cer [... read more]tainly does not compare to a 5 star resort outside Cuba but then again it is approx $1000 cheaper per couple than other countries in the region so offers great value. It was a mature well run resort that was not too large. The Cuban people are always so hospitable and pleasant and make the trip. The staff at this resort were better than most trying to make the week as pleasant as possible. The resort is older and made to Cuban construction standards so it is tired but this adds to the charm of the trip. It uses a lot of wood and marble and has a majestic ambiance. The grounds were well manicured and beautiful. The room and washroom were nice. The tub was small and the shower and the tub are combined. If you leave a few $ every day, the room is always cleaned and fridge always stocked. We were able to check in at 10:30 am on arrival so we were very happy after such and early start. The bus ride is about an hour but it is a pleasant ride that seems to go by fast as you experience the Cuban country side and culture in its raw form which is always interesting. The early morning flight at 6:00 am with the 2:00 am start time is difficult but you get to enjoy the entire 1st day at the resort. The a la carte's are great; we were able to experience all 4 in a week and pre booked from Canada which is a nice option. The food was very tasty and the best Cuban a la cartes we have experienced. This resort had the best food of the Cuban resorts we have visited, but in general Cuban resort food is average, however we always find something to eat. The entertainment was great. Every night was something different and the music is fantastic. It is part of the cultural enrichment experience. The resort always seems quiet and not crowded with no lines. We were able to get chairs at both the beach and pool in the shade at any time of the day. No one has to get up at 5:00 am to save a chair at the beach. The beach was 1 km long so a beautiful walk up and down the beach every day. The sand is white and the water is turquoise. The surf was rough the week we visited but this seems typical. The sand part of the beach was awesome but the water side had some drawbacks. There was coral 1 to 2 meters off the water line so you could not easily walk directly into the water. You had to walk up the beach 400 m from the chairs to find a spot that you could walk into the water and enjoy the surf. The coral along the beach line was in the surf zone so it did not have any snorkeling opportunities or fish. At the end of the beach was a coral cliff and reef that you could see colored fish but you had to be a confident swimmer to venture out the 400m in rough surf to that area. Unfortunately we are beach people, so we likely would not go back to the resort because of the surf characteristics. Restaurants at the pool and beach were both very nice and we ate there every day. The clientele of the resort appears to be an older crowd so it is a quiet vacation. Cuba always feels safe so people are always coming and going by cab or bus into the town to get a taste of the culture. I ran to the town 1 day and saw how the local folks lived. The resort offers a Royal section that we did not get a chance to experience but we met a British couple who were staying there for 2 weeks and they loved it. Overall a great trip and very nice resort. We met many who return multiple times for the serenity, staff, entertainment, and value but the beach surf is a small draw back.

Club Amigo Atlantico Guardalavaca: Club Amigo our second home

2017 is out 10th visit to Club Amigo. Love the place. Our second home. Wonderful staff. Anna, Yurdondis. Issue this visit was constant renovations and construction. Only 1 restaurant open, main pool drained. Constant fumes from painting, pouring new walkways. We had to pay for an upgrade to the Villa section due to the renovations.

Sol Turquesa Beach: Really nice resort

There's nothing like the cuban service! Staff was like family and always helpful :) Beach was nice and clean. Not my favorite food but I could always find something that worked. The a la carte restaurant were pretty good. Lots of feral cats around...so if you're not a cat lover, this might not be your place! All and all a great vacation...I would go back to this resort!
