Pros: amazing beach and large rooms Cons: rooms in need of an update, everyone got travellers diarrhea, items stolen from our rooms and subpar service In short, it is not worth the money. I have been to this resort before and the quality has declined. It was very disappointing.

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Disappointing - Don't Waste Your Money

Pros - white sand beach - most of it - speciality restaurants were okay - limited friendly workers even with generous tips - nice weather - big rooms - nice shower - walk in closet Cons - part of the beach had rocks and rocks in the water - water sports were not on the main part of the beach - rocks separated - rooms needed renovating - food at the buffet was terrible - no air conditioning so we had food poisoning all week, temperature in buffet lead to food spoiling - very poor f [... read more]ood handling practices - e.g. beach grill - cross contaminating food - cooked with raw food, temperature of food at buffet - Guest services people were rude and not helpful - if you don't speak Spanish, don't go to this resort, some workers were rude to English speaking people - limited shuttle service, resort too big - getting clean towels were an issue - the night shows were horrible and inappropriate content for children to be watching (sexual content) - bring toilet paper, there was never enough - don't put your things on a main floor room because we had items stolen off our balancy - translation of Italian menu into English were comical - 1 hour and 45 minute drive to the hotel - over 2 hours after having to make 3 stops because the bus didn't have a washroom - I would not recommend going to this resort and it did not live up to the Iberostar name

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Great Hotel - the Best Beach and Ocean!

We stayed in hotel in a week of Jul 2nd. Weather was great! Hotel is clean, there are two beaches. Both are great, but I liked Ensenachos more, just because water is unbelievable clear - something I have never seen anywhere else! You will also find a lots of wildlife/ocean-life: butterflies, crabs, jellyfish, zebra fish, few types of school of fish (you do not need your googles at all - they just swim around you), starfish, iguana... simply put: beautiful! There are kids playground and kids pool - and there is also adults pool adjusent to kids pool, witch is great, you can actually see your kid playing even though you are at the adults pool. Very well planned! Service at the pool is fantastic. They walk all they and offer drinks. Hotel room is big, balcony was large as well. We did not have hot water one evening. I called in next day, and they have fix it. Food is tasty, there is not great many choices if you compare to e.g. Dominican or Mexico, but there is enough and most importantly, it tastes good. I would highly recommend to make reservations at Mediterranean restaurant - it is on a beach with ocean view. Arrive earlier so you can see sunset (something I did not realised, so I book for 8.30pm and missed it!). Internet is in lobby only, 1 pesos for 1 hour. The only think they I would recommend for improvement was service. Reception and pool service was good. But buffet could be better. Some servants were ok, but some not so much... Overall, great value for the money!

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: Outstanding resort!!!

I went in with ni expectation, and I was not disappointed. Although I can rough it anywhere, I was delighted in being treated like a queen. The hotel is going through renovations, but your not aware. They keep the materials hidden and passages are always clean. Our room was very humid, nothing the ac couldn't handle. Our butlers Dayan and Marlon went over and beyond to make our stay welcoming and delightful. Yude was a sweetheart, who would always have a smile on her face. Everyday was a differe [... read more]nt personal touch. Tomas chauffeured us around and had no problems going out of his way to bring us and wait for us at the market! Food was difficult, only because of restrictions. Other than that, I was pleased. I had horrible service at the Mexican restaurant, the waiter was new and rude. Other than that I fell in love, over and over again. I would go back tomorrow, but no kids allowed!

Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Great resort.

The resort was beautiful, with 4 huge pools and a long stretch of beach. Staff was extremely friendly. The rooms were okay, the two twin beds were slightly uncomfortable. The buffet food was not the greatest, but the snack bars and ala carte restaurants were much better.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: Great Resort! But NEEDS some work.

Went to Memories Sanctuary with my wife mid June 2018. it was definitely way better experience than the last time I've been to Cuba. I DIDN'T GET SICK! LOL. I had an amazing time here. The staff is amazing and do anything to please you, within limits obviously.. ;) i couldn't believe we had a Butler. A BIG THANK YOU TO DAYAN (chop chop ;), MARLON and ALEXANDER LAZARO. Sanctuary NEEDS to get an aquatics rental booth. It doesn't make any sense especially on a business level to not have an aquatics rental booth. GET ONE! To the manager of this resort ALEXANDER. THANK YOU for your hospitality. Just listen to your staff and be open to their opinions, without their personalities there would be NO shine. They're special! I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS RESORT. Don't go looking for big parties but you will have a great time relaxing in a spectacular environment. And again.. THE BEACH!! If you didn't know, you can be TOPLESS! ADULTS only. Perfect..

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Amazing Beach

Check in was the worst we had ever experienced, as we had to stand in a line for one hour to receive our check in envelope. The food was typical for Cuba, not great, long buffet lineups. The Al a Carte meals nothing special, and again very long wait times and uncomfortable seating. Absolutely no lobby entertainment except one night they offered a bingo game. This resort defiantly catered more to children than adults. The best part of this vacation was the beautiful secluded beach.

Valentin Perla Blanca: Great resort

I went to this resort on the off-season and I found there was a few things that were not running due to the circumstances, so that made for a upsetting moment to find out I was not able to do the fun things I had seen this resort/Cuba provides. That being said the staff at this resort and the beach were absolutely amazing! I made do with what we had and my trip to Cuba was one for the books!

Grand Aston Cayo Las Brujas: Excellent Resort

I have been going to Cuba for over 25 years , and this resort is top on my list the food is amazing, the service is top notch , the entertainment team actually entertains you , the AL Carte restaurants are best I have ever had , there is no concern with food at this resort, with a wide variety to eat , from pasta to burger to pizza , fresh fish , chicken beef and pork , I highly recommended this resort.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: The Best Vacation We ever Had

Very friendly staff, amazing beach, amazing people, clean rooms , good service, This is first time we went to Sanctuary Grand Memories Santa Maria and i we will come back again. 17 times we were in Varadero , and i have to be honest will never go again after we came from Sanctuary beach , We just love all service and everything they did for us, Thank You. This beach you can't compare with any beach around the world one of the best. I have never seen service like this in my life. Edin

Hotel and customer service was good, food was not that great. We have burgers and fries all day and night.. however everyone has their own taste. The papaya was the only fruit we had.. definitely needed a salad..

Memories Paraiso: Beautiful Resort

I have nothing but good things to say about this resort except for the fact that there was no air conditioning in the main restaurant the whole week we were there which made the dining experience very uncomfortable. The food was adequate but not great. The grounds were lovely with an amazing variety of plants & beautiful flowers. The gardens & the white sand beach were the best I've ever seen in Cuba. Dhawa Cayo Santa Maria: Lovely hotel

Love the hotel very clean only problem was the beach not clean at all. And none of the staff at the hotel knew how to speak in English. If you wana just relax and stay in resort the whole time this is the best place

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Best beach in the world!

Iberostar Ensenachos has a whole island for itself and it's incredible. White sand beach, calm waters, beautiful grounds... all that gives the resort a huge advantage. Don't let little imperfections in service and food bother you, just relax and enjoy the sun.

Grand Aston Cayo Las Brujas: Beautiful Resort but could use some improvements

Overall for the price we paid, this resort was good. However, I would probably not go back. The rooms were beautiful, as well as the grounds of the hotel. The hotel was very clean overall (except the lobby bathrooms could use a bit more attention in the evenings). The beach is nice but definitely not as beautiful as other resorts in Cayó Santa Maria. The pool is very nice. The entertainment was good. The service in this resort was very good except in the buffet restaurant. The service nee [... read more]ds a lot of improvements. The most disappointing thing about this new resort was the food. The quality just wasn't there and it was very repetitive. I know this is Cuba, but I've been to a few other resorts where the food was far superior. All in all, it was a good week but needs some improvements.

Dhawa Cayo Santa Maria: Awesome beach

Overall good value for the price we paid. Awesome beach and well-kept grounds. Check-in was quick. Staff was hard-working and, service, for the most part, was good. We did take issue when we felt ignored at the lobby bar, one night, for an extended period of time. We brought this to the attention of the guest services staff and our concern was promptly addressed. We were pleasantly surprised when they came looking for us in the entertainment theater to personally apologize and to do a little [... read more] something for us as a goodwill gesture. This was much appreciated. Staff, in general, is pretty awesome. One caveat though is the in-your-face expectation for tips by certain members. We are regular tippers but are really put off when we feel pressured to do so. For example, after we were brought to our rooms by the bell-boys (two of them) in golf-style carts, I overheard one tell the other in Spanish to ask me for cinco (five) dollars as tip. We had hardly slept the previous night (before our flight) and I just wanted to crash. So I paid and did just that. Another time, the safe in our room malfunctioned - for a second time - and we had to call in the repairman. After fixing the problem, the person kept hinting that we tip him. The food was hit and miss but we never had high expectations. What's important is that we were well-fed with no food poisoning. Overall, our stay was enjoyable. Thank you to all the staff members of the resort who made that happen for us.

Valentin Perla Blanca: Great Resort

This was our second time. Initial challenges as when we arrived they did not have a room for us. They fixed the issue quickly. The room they gave us had no air conditioning, after two nights of complaining they moved us. After that all was good. We go to this resort because they have the most amazing beach. We walked for hours.

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Great Location and Staff!

Staff in general very good throughout. The room was well cleaned. 'Maid' was friendly and left towel designs. Beautiful beaches and service under tiki huts for food and drinks. Wifi avail in lobby $1Cuc

Memories Paraiso: Good resort/Amazing beach

This hotel is very large. Stayed in Paraiso section. Gardens are beautiful and beach is pristine. Only problem was the lack of air-conditioning at buffet restaurant. All the resort workers are very friendly and accommodating.
