Barcelo Maya Palace: Surprisingly poor
We had high hopes for the Barcelo Maya Palace. It boasts very high reviews, particularly regarding the quality of food. It was dissapointing across the board. We've visited Mexico eight times. This trip was the most expensive and the lowest quality.
El Dorado Seaside Palms: Nice resort - bad experience!
I've been to Riviera Maya 9 times now - and 8 of those trips have been fantastic in every way. This place is over-rated, over-priced, and underwhelming. Nice rooms, but constant noise from late night bars and music spoiled the natural beach front. And the food is average at best. I don't go to Mexico to eat burgers and fries - the local cuisine can be/is fantastic. Just in very short supply at El Dorado Suites. To really ruin for us though - I bought a hat in the gift shop, for $60 [... read more]
Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Trip
I've been there twice before, I booked the junior suite, which I am familiar with, on arrival they claimed to have upgraded us for free, no it was not an upgrade, it was a downgrade, so honestly I was ripped off
Ocean Coral and Turquesa: My vacation in Mexico
The hotel was very nice, clean and staff very friendly. The rooms were spacious and the cleaning staff did a good job. The grounds were looked after very well. The pools were kept clean but getting lounge chairs was difficult unless you went down to the pools before 8:00am. My one main complaint was that the food in the buffet was not very hot.
Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: Great resort!
The Hideaway at Royalton was an amazing resort! The food was delicious and staff members were very professional and friendly. The resort was always very clean and our room service was excellent. The nightly entertainment exceeded my expectations. We enjoyed the fact that there was a “party†pool and another “quiet†pool if you wanted to relax. The beach was also lovely and we were always able to get beach chairs. We only found it difficult to find beach towels somedays, as there was a sp [... read more]
Barcelo Maya Tropical: Decent hotel
It’s a decent hotel but nothing special. The food was just ok, restaurant food was not good at all. Beach was very rocky and impossible to swim but pools were nice. The grounds are well maintained but rooms are very dated and some things in the room were not working well like closet door wouldn’t open. Service was good if you tip. Overall decent resort but I’m not sure it’s worth the price
Occidental at Xcaret Destination: A lush animal filled property
One of the nicest places to stay, STAFF amazing PROPERTY beautiful and lush FOOD outstanding, plentiful and a great variety LOCATION best in the area, minutes to one of the most amazing parks you will ever visit
Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Amazing Resort
The hotel was really nice. The grounds well kept with staff continuously cleaning. The food was wonderful. The entertainment was really good. I enjoyed the spa for a massage and I attended the yoga classes every morning, the instructor was amazing
Ocean Riviera Paradise: Nice Resort, but not if you want to relax!
I travelled with my Wife in Feb 2023 to this resort. It was our 2nd time coming here. 1st time was shortly after it opened in 2018 with 2 other couples. This resort had a lot of Pro's The Food at the ala carte's we tried was very good. Japanese, Italian, Route 66 , Steakhouse (was just OK, I ordered the Rib Eye, and it was basically a salty piece of flank steak, with lots of fat) Food at Buffet was good, but they always seemed to be short on staples. Fries, pineapple, Bacon (If you love [... read more]
Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Nice resort
Well kept resort, clean and tidy. Would like to mention Annabelle a hostess at the buffet, very friendly with a smile all the time. She made us feel welcome like we were at home. Only negative point the cost of golf had jumped over 100% since we were last there, the only change to course was the aprons and greens are better. I guess somebody has to pay for the new additions to the club house
Occidental at Xcaret Destination: No complaints !
Great 2 weeks at the Occidental ! Clean rooms, comfortable beds, good buffet, great à la carte restaurant. Friendly staff, we got on average 15 "hellos" per day from staff. Not a beach/sand resort but lots of big pools and the complex is huge. I would recommend without hesitation !
Riu Palace Mexico: Great resort
It was all great, except for the endless seaweed, nothing that can be done about it. My earrings went missing, they just left a note to remind me to put valuables in the safe, but stole the gold earrings.
Wyndham Alltra Playa del Carmen: 2 Star at best
Standard rooms are so tiny. No windows for natural light other then the shower window in some. There wasn't a place to even put our suitcase. The toilet backed up overflowing sewage all over our room. Desk manager offered to switch out the toilet that would be a 4 hour job or switch to another standard room but it wasn't clean yet so we would have to wait hours for cleaning. I packed all our belongings walking through 2 inches of sewage water. Tears streaming down my face in pure frustration. Ma [... read more]
Platinum Yucatan Princess: Things are different…
The resort staff is friendly however what once was a 5 star is now what I would consider AT BEST a 4 star!! Rooms are not clean Food QUALITY is very poor Front desk help was poor Lack of chairs & umbrellas
Barcelo Maya Palace: Perfection as usual
This was our third visit to this resort. Three times a charm. Nothing but absolute perfection. Will be going back for a fourth time. Apparently I have to talk for 200 characters there’s nothing more to say other than the great fantastic holiday. We had rain for 10 minutes in our 10 day stay. I would highly recommend 10 day trip as you usually eat up two days. During your traveling.
Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Wonderful resort
We just spent a week here and enjoyed it very much. The grounds were well kept and the rooms although a bit dated and needed a few repairs were clean ! The food was awesome as was the friendly staff. The only downside we found was the lack of communication for some things We had to go everyday to make a dinner reservation and didn’t find out until our fourth day that there was an app to book them. We missed out on a few of the restaurants. The kids club was amazing and the staff there [... read more]
TRS Yucatan: Had a wonderful time!
We stayed at TRS Yucatan Feb 6-13. This was our 3rd time staying there but the first time since Covid. It is a great experience if you want service excellence, great food and peace and quiet. We did notice a few changes in service level since pre Covid. You have to pay for the dinner theatre and the food was awful. The show was fantastic. There also was nothing happening at night. They used to have artists performing after dark but this seems to have been cut out. The a la carte restaurants are [... read more]
Ocean Coral and Turquesa: very good
we had ocean view with balcony , very nice , food was great at all the dinning places. Pools were clean and lots of activities. Staff was very good to us as well. Menus and reservations are on QR codes that work great. Good deals in the resorts store as well. The shows were very good to. Love the wildlife there as well.
Barcelo Maya Palace: Amazing family vacation
Amazing family resort. Beach and pools were phenomenal. Snorkeling was amazing. Rooms were spacious and clean. Food was okay - need to plan dinner reservations better. Perfect for families and very accessible throughout resort.
Wyndham Alltra Playa del Carmen: Great location!!
Location was amazing and staff was amazing. We got a standard room and it was a little room in a corner, nowhere to put our luggage. If you are going here upgrade your room. Buffet was small and not much options. You need to be up very early to get a chair as there is not enough and people reserve by 6am and door come back down until 10am. There is no beach and the little beach on the north corner is rocky. So if you love beach then this is not the place for you. Location was the best part, walk [... read more]
