Hotel Los Cactus: I’ll be back!

Be Live adult only Los Cactus has the most welcoming vibe. It’s super comfortable, maybe not the newest, and that might be why it is so relaxed and friendly. The staff knows what they are doing and are helpful, respectful and friendly. It’s Cuba so the food is different, and I completely enjoyed every meal I had. The resort is the perfect size, nothing is too far away. Bars and restaurants are all good and very well run. I love the safe, clean, friendly feeling we had on this vacation!

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: Pretty good for Cuba

People at resort very friendly and nice. Food was the best I ever had and I have been to Cuba at least 6 times. It was kind of weird that they ran out of French fries, chicken and coke a cola. The breakfast were great with a large asortment of baked goods and breakfast items. Entertainment was good. The coffe was great as well.

Grand Memories Varadero: Needs some TLC

This is my second vacation to Grand Memories within three years . We liked the resort better the first time. Even though this last visit we upgraded to Diamond Club , we found a lot missing and service has significantly deteriorated . On the whole people were friendly but too slow in responding to your requests . Had to beg for towels , there was no hot water in our building for two days . Customer service was not up to standard . The medical clinic is a definite plus and very responsive . There was plenty to eat and drink and good variety. This resort has a lot of positives and could be turned around with better housekeeping and positive customer orientation

Sirenis Tropical Varadero: Du 4 au 11 mars 2020

Nous avons décidé d’essayer ce resort suite aux commentaires qui semblaient assez bon, c’était une semaine assez tranquille ce qui n’a pas plu à mes enfants de 15, 18 et 21 ans. La nourriture c’est Cuba, il ne faut pas s’attendre à de la haute gastronomie cependant à plusieurs reprises les enfants se sont fait dire qu’il ne restait plus de nourriture au snack bar, le seul ouvert 24h et sur notre groupe de 8 personnes, 6 ont été malades. Les chambres ont été rénovées en fa [... read more]çade seulement mais c’était passable, ce qui nous a déplu le plus c’est le service aux chambres, nous n’avons jamais eu de serviettes propres de la semaine, j’ai dû courir pour recevoir du papier de toilette à plusieurs reprises. La chambre n’a jamais été nettoyée, ni la salle de bain, impossible de se faire comprendre en français ni en anglais. Nous sommes allés voir le représentant de Sunwing qui nous a donné aucune aide, en fait, il nous a donné aucune info sauf l’heure du retour. Pour finir en beauté, les plages sont superbes, il y avait des chaises longues toujours disponibles. Bien contente que ce voyage ne m’est pas couté plus de 1000$.

Muthu Playa Varadero: Its not a 4 star hotel

Poor costumer service food at al la carte its crap the buffet is always same food everyday poor cleaning at the rooms bartenders dont know how to mix drinks rooms are old broken furniture showers are small and dirty and i got 2 ,rooms all the same ac controls doesnt work overall its not a 4 star and this is not my first time in cuba

Melia Peninsula Varadero: Pretty awesome

Just a great resort for kids. The staff is wonderful. The food, delicious by Cuban standards. What a beach! The pool is great as well. The only comment would be the bathroom designs which leaked water. And the elevators. It's hard to keep stainless steel looking pristine. Olive oil helps and they need a coat of paint and potted palms. Other than that. It was my best vacation yet. I relaxed, finally, my boy had a ball. He is golden and happy.

Iberostar Origin Tainos: Great spot

This is a very pretty resort, with a great beach and swimming pool, as well as gorgeous trees and nice landscaping. The food was better than I've had in other Cuban resorts - lots of choice, nice fresh veggies and tasty hot dishes. The service was very good - all staff friendly and helpful. I loved the outdoor entertainment in the Courtyard area in the evenings and went to a couple of shows in the "club". My only complaint is that I did not have hot water for a shower the whole time I was  [... read more]there. I did report the problem a few times, and there was some effort to correct it. However, it turned out a water pipe problem close to my room was the culprit. They were working on fixing this during the week.

Melia Marina Varadero: Great Beach & Weather

This was our 3rd stay at the MMV since 2017. We were upgraded to a two bedroom suite in the Condominium buildings overlooking the marina which was absolutely beautiful. Everything worked in our room except the patio door lock which wasn't an issue as we weren't on the ground floor. We had refills on water and beer daily. No issues with unwanted bugs! The lounge chairs at the beach were the white plastics ones. Most of the loungers were cracked down the middle. If your back gets tender sitting on a hard surface, bring a blow up cushion. It wasn't an issue to get a palapa (thatched roof for shade) early in the morning. The beach bartenders were quick and friendly. No beach service this year (cut backs?). The beach restaurant is open from 12:30 to 4:00. They changed from being able to order from a menu to a buffet style of veggies and a meat grill. The main hotel pool is plenty big with lots of shade. Bartenders were excellent at the pool bar. The service at the snack bar was very slow and the options for food was measly. We only went there once for lunch. Buffet food was repetitive but that's the norm at every resort. The food quality improved at the a la carte restaurants which was the only place to get served red wine in your all inclusive package. Yes, that right! The resort no longer serves red wine at the buffet or the lobby bar...lots of white wine though. You can only get red wine in an a la carte or if you want to pay for it in the new Tapas lounge. We typically book Melia resorts which in our opinion have really scaled down on the nice things. Because of the cut backs, we'll be booking other branded resorts in the future. Our agent, Carol Webber, took good care of us as usual. Thanks Carol.

Gran Caribe Sun Beach: Beautiful people :)

The resort we stayed at had some amazing staff. The hotel grounds were well taken care of very well kept. The rooms could use a little TLC but overall I had an amazing time of sun amazing beaches and met a lot of nice people from all over the world. Thank you :)

Gran Caribe Sun Beach: Not what expected

The grounds kept well. The hotel is run down. The food was horrible in the main dining area and the smell in there was so bad. The Italian restaurant was pleasant. Most staff were friendly. The disco was fun but should be included. The pool is in poor condition but swimable. The beach was great.

Playa Vista Azul: So so

Beautiful resort, food not so much, beach towels were not easy to get, run out of wine, by third day, food not good , never seen potatoes or vegetables all week. Have been to Cuba many times but will think twice about going back

Melia Internacional: Nice resort

Playa Vista Azul: Worst resort I have ever been to in cuba

I have travelled to Cuba resorts for 10 years and have always looked forward to going back. Until now. I have never stayed at such an terrible resort in Cuba in all of my 10years. The food was disgusting. The hotel is only five years old and looks like it is about 20 years old and never been painted. Met two cockroaches for a first in Cuba running around my room upon arrival. Most food was cold the 4 restaurants did not take reservations and could only seat about 40persons at a tile and people who paid extra had first choices. The hotel has about 900 rooms. Restaurant to small for resort. Ran out of white wine three out of six days. I was told I couldn’t have another glass of wine at supper one nite because it was warm.The bed spreads were dirty. I could go on and on but I just want to forget my worst vacation ever. Advertising as a 4plus. Would not even give a three star. Trip central needs to check out there stars a bit closer. The only think good was the ocean view. I think I should win the contest just for what we put up with. Will second guess trip central next time. Even the staff at the bar at the front were unfriendly,which is so unusual for Cuba. Would not even recommend to my worst enemy.

Melia Internacional: The melia adventure

We had an amazing time on our first mother daughter vacation! The staff and entertainment blew us away. We had a few issues with our room and everything was fixed promptly! The food was good for cuba but the service won by far!!!

Hotel Bella Costa: Great staff, amazing weather, resort in need of upgrades though !!!

This is our 8th time in Cuba so we are very accustomed to travelling there. This is a nice size resort. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The ocean view and beach are amazing. Pool is also nice size but cool. Jacuzzi's were only filled later on our vacation but water was cold and no jets. We were in a balcony room facing the ocean on the second floor. The entire room is in serious need of upgrades and repairs. Toilet tipsy, missing ceramic on tiles, furniture heavily scuffed, beddi [... read more]ng and towels greyed out. Cushions filthy and smelly, yet our chamber person did everything she could to make it welcoming, clean and beautiful towel art. Fridge was not restocked, except for water, thankfully !!! Elevators did not always work, when they did, they often did not stop level so this was a trip hazard. Entertainment (interior) area was not designed for entertainers so you could barely see the shows if you were anywhere further than the second or third row. These people try really hard to entertain and not always under the best conditions. Exterior entertainers (one of which we participated in) crossed boundaries in this period of hypersensitivity on Coronavirus and STIs. They were mimicking an aboriginal ritual and at one point, sprayed participants by putting liquids in their mouth and spraying us. That is totally unacceptable. So many diseases/infections transmitted through bodily fluids. I was shocked and officially complained !!! The food (especially deserts) at the specialty restaurants was often similar or same as the buffet but tasty nonetheless. The beachfront restaurant was very nice as it had all the food in covered display cases. Loved eating there right by the ocean. Booked an amazing private tour to Havana with our party of 6. Guide and driver were fun, knowledgeable, respectful and extremely proud to show us around. Very pleasant experience actually. Havana has had major restorations over the years since we had last been. Lots of opportunities to give to locals. Be sure to be clear on expectations because you can easily spend $20-30 pesos within 25 feet if you accept all offers of caricatures, musicians, etc... Above and foremost, Cubans are such warm and caring individuals, THAT was key and it made our vacation worthwhile. Would I go back to that resort? Likely not !!!

Melia Peninsula Varadero: nice resort

Small resort situated on a beautiful sandy beach, Melia Peninsula is a good place to spend a week long vacation. The beach has plenty of chairs and protection from the sun, we did not have to reserve a place in the morning. There is one pool for adults, but the music can be loud during activities. Nice installations for small kids with their own pool and center. We found the food ok but repetitive. But with the situation in Cuba, we were expecting this. Iberostar Selection Varadero: Great trip!

The resort was beautiful, amazing service, perfect beach. The food was decent for Cuba, lots of options. Everything was clean and well maintained. The entertainment staff worked hard to get everyone involved. The only complaint we had were the mosquitoes - never had so many bug bites in my life! Would highly recommend bringing bug spray and after bite. Would definitely go back to this resort!

Melia Las Americas: Beautiful but a bit dated

Absolutely beautiful grounds, well kept. Beach was beautiful and seaweed free. Golf course is kept well as well. Outdated rooms and lobby furniture. Good food esp at the a la carte. The international was our favourite. Service was amazing.

Melia Marina Varadero: Excellent Hotel

The hotel exceeded our expectation. The hotel was in excellent condition, its staff was very pleasant, foot was first class, including service. The beach was good, and so was the swimming pool. We highly recommend this resort.

Melia Las Antillas: Absolutely amazing!

Beautiful resort!! Absolutely love the bungalow rooms, very nice clean rooms, amazing staff!! Lots of room around the big pool, tons of shows and activities to keep you busy, short walk to a gorgeous beach. Everything you need all on site, food was alot better then we had expected. Only 1 thing we didnt like and that was the strong sewage smell during some late nights. We may return in the future. I would rate this hotel a 4 star.
