Riu Palace Macao: New Favorite Resort

Beautiful resort.The size is perfect.Everything is close by.The beach is very spacious with tons of beautiful palm trees so shade or sun is available.Loads of lounges and tables too.Rooms were spacious and kept clean.Any questions or concerns were looked after quickly.The staff is amazing and very friendly.

Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro: Bahia Principe Bavaro Grande Review from a First Timer

Room we checked into was musty smelling, didn't have hot water and the patio door would not lock. We asked to change rooms and were accommodated in our request although it took and bit of back and forthing and coming back later to pick up the key when the rooms was ready. Ground were beautiful, the staff was extremely friendly and pleasant. Even those who were selling excursions and trinkets were polite and not pushy. I believe that the confusion and congestion would have been better managed if the coordinator was able to provide instructions and call out the ready orders in English. Through it all and there were many frustrations expressed by the waiting customers, the staff was pleasant and professional.

Hyatt Zilara Cap Cana: Best so far

An excellent week with great beach and best food so far in the many resorts I’ve been to. Minor glitch was handled quickly and appropriately. Easily met many new acquaintances from all over the US. Staff was unbelievably friendly and helpful.

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Amazing resort!

This resort was awesome. The nightlife could have been better but it was okay. The food was absolutely amazing. We got the royal package which we probably would not do again as the perks are not that rewarding ..We want to go back next year if we can get a good price.

Occidental Punta Cana: Good time with friends

Sunscape Coco Punta Cana: Amazing Resort!

We just returned from Sunscape Coco Punta Cana. The grounds were beautiful. The beach is nice, however there was a lot of sea debris everyday which was raked away most of the time. The food is excellent in both buffets and all the ala cartes. Italian and Japanese were the best. The staff goes above and beyond and are all really friendly. We paid a little extra to be in Sun Club. Recommend this upgrade 100%. Entertainment was also really good.

Riu Republica: Great time!

The resort had a lovely ambiance and was really well manicured! I liked that the “a la carte” restaurants were first come first serve, so we didn’t have to book in advance, and could visit these restaurants multiple times as opposed to having buffet dinners. The Spanish, “kulinarium” and Indian restaurants were all really good. The Spanish restaurant was by far our favourite, with Spanish style tapas for appetizers, and 3 entrees to choose from. Friendly and attentive servers/bartenders really helped enhance the experience. With so many different pools, it was diverse, there was definitely one pool that was more of a “party vibe” but it was easy to find a more quiet corner to relax and read poolside in. I read a lot of reviews about the room cards not working, but if you just keep it separate from your cell phone it isn’t a problem. Wifi signal was strong all over the resort, even by the beach, which was a nice touch. The room was cleaned daily mid afternoon, and always felt clean and fresh afterwards. The mattress was very firm but personally, that’s my preference. There was only 3 pillows and they were really thin, but maybe we could have had more if we asked, we didn’t try. Also lack of blankets, again we probably could have asked for more though just didn’t bother.

Occidental Caribe: Breathtaking views

Resort is beautiful and well maintained. Food is amazing at breakfast, ok at lunch then suppers were great at the buffet. Pizza place is amazing above the snack bar. The ocean and beach is so clean and breathtaking! Loved my time here.

Majestic Elegance Punta Cana: Second time staying at Majestic Elegance and it was perfect as usual!

Everything was perfect as usual. Will be returning again! Grounds are well maintained and staff are extremely friendly and helpful. This was our second stay and will be back again soon! Our butler and maid were excellent.

Occidental Caribe: Honest Review

The beach is large with lots of chairs, it’s honestly spectacular. The pools are a great layout for families although they were far from clean and if you want a shady area to sit you have to go out at about 5 am to mark your spot. The food was enjoyable and the a la cart restaurants were very good. It was difficult to get an early reservation in order to eat before the babies had to go to bed, you have to go down to guest services very early and request this and then go back later in the day t [... read more]o confirm. The service was overall quite poor, that’s not to say all employees were unhelpful but it was a mixed bag depending on who you got. I had to fill bottles of milk for my baby and many employees would give me a carton for the room but I did have one woman flat out refuse and only offered me a cup which wouldn’t fill even the whole bottle. Also there is no non-dairy milk option so if you or your child has an allergy this would be an issue. We were travelling with family and young babes so we asked for rooms to be close together ahead of time and were refused any help both ahead and at the resort when we landed. We also asked to reserve cribs and we’re told they were first come first serve so we had to bring our own travel cribs to ensure our babes had a safe place to sleep. If we didn’t ask ahead we could have shown up with no where for our babies to sleep. The rooms are dated which wasn’t a big deal to us but the toilets didn’t flush very well and the room wasn’t always cleaned daily, we each had a day where a room wasn’t cleaned or towels weren’t replaced. Overall the resort is a great size and the pools and amenities are great for young families but I would say the service really needs to level up to match the same standard.

This resort was wonderful. Very clean room and washroom. This was great for us. The service, the food, the pool the gym and beach was wonderful. In all the resort was very clean. The staff were wonderful. We spent most of our time at the pool. The only downfall is there was lots of stairs to climb at the hotel. Going downstairs for the meals,the pool and the beach. Bahia Principe Escape Samana: Great resort

Everything met or surpassed our expectations. Clean rooms stocked daily with soft drinks, beer. Even our little coffee bar. Nice pool area and even the beach was inviting. Great variety and plenty of food. Servers very polite and pleasant. Downside for some would be stairs. If you have mobility issues, this may be a problem. And 1 hour bus ride to airport.

Hyatt Vivid Punta Cana: A wonderful resort!

My partner and I just returned from a week’s vacation at the Jewel Palm Beach Resort. We had a wonderful time! We upgraded to the VIP club and it was worth it. We had a nice room overlooking one of the club pools and we could see the ocean. The king size bed was very comfortable. The staff we interacted with were great! Shout out to Emilio at the VIP adult pool bar. The service we received from him was “Excellente”! Sunscape Coco Punta Cana: Worth it !!

Check in was smooth, upgraded us to adults only, adults only buffet was my fav, we did have options on which buffet we wanted, family or adults.. 1 person in our group ate fish (he thinks it was the fish) and got sick for about 24hrs. Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: Great Resort!

This is a great resort. The landscaping is the nicest I've ever seen. The most beautiful lush palm trees, shrubs and overall gardening. The entire resort was very clean, & rooms were also well maintained. The service was outstanding and the staff are Wonderful!! Love the DR for this!! Food was also very good overall. Good selection at the buffet. The only a la carte I wouldn't recommend is the Italian. The ocean is not your typical windy ocean since it's situated in a bay so for some thi [... read more]s might be a good thing but for others maybe not. There's also a river running through this bay so it's not 100% ocean water. It's more like it's situated on a lake rather than the ocean. Water is not so clear but swimming was great. Not a good area for snorkelling but you can always do an excursion or drive to another area on the ocean.

Catalonia Royal La Romana: Not truly adult only. Don't waste money on Jr. Suite

Paid for a junior suite thinking it would be closer to the beach, water, quiet and diving shop...and it wasn't! All suites are actually located right near main reception. Ours view: right into the al acarte restaurant looking over the lounge and entertainment area backing onto the tennis courts and main road in. Explained this was not what we booked and were moved to the "only room available costs and extra $500US$". So, we have to pay for an upgrade we already paid for??? The resort Sunwing/Nex [... read more]us rep was not helpful, had to go to the kids resort to see him & was only there from 9-12 IF you were lucky. We were diving every morning from 830-130, so weren't able to connect with him until the day we left. The buffet breakfast, dinners, lunch, snacks, Juice bar, coffee bar most al acarte restaurants, pool near the beach and evening shows ALL shared with the sister resort so KIDS EVERYWHERE! My idea of Adults only means I don't see them or hear them. If you truly want ADULT ONLY...don't go here. Food was average at buffets and al acartes. Staff kindness was hit n miss. Grounds are beautiful and well maintained. Beach has plenty of sun and shadey spots, clean and water is wonderful!

Ocean Blue and Sand: Great resort, enjoyed our stay

We just got back this week and really enjoyed this resort. They pay a lot of attention to detail with the little things they offer around the resort like archery, Martini/Margarita bars at night, a night with bouncy castles and popcorn for the kids. The entertainment team is top notch. We can't say enough good things about them. They have the highest energy, they seem to genuinely have a great time, and they are great at getting guest engagement. They do fun little contests on the beach in the morning and the pool in the afternoon and at night they bring out all the winners and give them Dominican rum to celebrate. Our only complaint was the volume at which they put the audio. It was so loud! The selection of restaurants is good. We found the food to be varied enough that we weren't getting tired of anything. They have an amazing coffee shop (with probably the best AC on the resort) that had a nice vibe and was a great place to cool down mid day. The buffet could get quite busy, but the staff really hustle to get tables cleared and ready for the next people. The beach was okay. A bit rocky but overall nice. They have enough beach loungers, but it doesn't feel like it because people often reserve loungers at both the pool and the beach at the same time despite there being signage to not. But that's more of a problem with vacationers than the resort itself. Highly recommend a nighttime beach visit. The breeze is lovely at night. Drinks were good. Good selection and generally well made. Our first 5 days we had Issa working at the pool bar and she was fantastic. Always happy and singing, and seemed to really focus on mixing drinks well. She was gone our last 2 days and her replacement wasn't quite as good, but still okay. The guy who runs the nightly martini/margarita/gin bars (if I'm remembering correctly his name was Carlos) is great. He was so friendly and worked hard to make everyone fun, yummy drinks. The staff in general just seem really happy to be there. They do everything with a great attitude and never seemed bothered if you asked for anything. Reception was super helpful getting us a shower since we had to check out at noon but our shuttle wasn't until 6pm. And the bell boys/front staff were always super eager to help with transportation questions for shopping etc. There is a trolley to get around which is nice if you're going with kids or someone older, but honestly it's very walkable. They have nice little paths as well that get you off the main walkway and give a bit more privacy. Rooms were nice. No matter what you turn the AC to our room was pretty consistently at 23.5 but it felt refreshing in comparison to the heat outside. Shower was warm. Tubs were a bit older and I probably wouldn't want to soak a kid in them but the shower portion was fine. Beds were cozy enough. We left notes for the housekeeping requesting extra water and they were always good to ensure we had plenty. Also the public/shared area bathrooms were some of the cleanest, best kept public bathrooms I've used. They must be cleaning them constantly. Honestly a great resort that seems happy to meet your needs and fill your requests, and they really just work hard to ensure you have a great vacation. Would go back again, with or without kids. They have plenty for everyone!!

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Great resort

As a third time visitor to this resort, I can assure you if you are a solo traveller you are absolutely safe there. One of my main reasons for going to this hotel. They continue to be smart and have the same person clean your room daily. Therefore, they get to know you and you feel more confident versus some hotels changing housekeepers every 3 days. The front desk etc does not sluff you off and speak fluent English. The hotel is small medium so easy to find things quickly. The food is good and [... read more] plentiful. The only drawback I found this year was them offering you a free massage if you attend a so called short introduction. Unless you are keen on investing into their hotel package offer decline. For 2.5 hours you will waste of your holiday. The first clue is when they ask your occupation. The other downfall is the quality of entertainment at night, however a bit prejudice after I saw what they are capable of that way in Jamaica. On a different note they are unbelievable in recycling and they are way ahead. Impressive. They have many repeat guests and their fan page is so helpful. You give a shout out and a guest will immediately reply. I highly recommend this. The main issue was people begging for Benadryl for mosquito bites. So please take that and mosquito repellant. You can't see the mosquitos so very tiny but they itch like crazy. Overall, I would return again, just annoyed that they weren't too upfront on the buy in process re hotel and the time it takes. Tourists are very friendly and helpful. Have fun, you will return!

Melia Punta Cana Beach Wellness Resort Adults: Wonderful Resort

Loved the Meliá Level! Great room, not in it much! Paid extra for the Level (worth it) Felt loved and cared for all 10 days, amazing food, amazing beach, pool was lovely, not in it much mostly beached! The true highlife was the staff, be kind to these folks!! The interaction with them was the highlight of the trip

The grounds surrounding this resort were impeccably maintained. The hotel needs some updating but well kept. The service is outstanding everywhere. The front desk, the dining areas, the bars and the pools greeted you as if you were the only guest there. Everyone was very pleasant at all times.
