Melia Costa Rey: Relaxing stay

The hotel was nice for Cuba. Very family oriented with lots of food options. One down side was the 24/7 food place was always a very long line. They should set up a buffet style so people done waste 30+ mins in line on their vacation. The rooms were nice although ours smelled like urine when we first showed up. Also there were several items stolen from our room which was unfortunate. The entertainers were very friendly. The mosquitoes were awful!!! And at times it did ruin our time! It was great [... read more] that the restaurants were all inclosed with AC. Drinks we delicious and all the staff spoke great English! A downside was that after checking in nobody showed us to our room or helped us figure out how to get there. They should drive people with luggage to buildings that far away, wasn’t the best start. Overall, had a good time but not sure I’d go back.

Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: Good value for your money

The hotel is clean, the room is spacious with a modern bathroom. Our housekeeper was very attentive, the rest of the staff was ok. The buffet had little variety, breakfast was the same every day. THE BEACH IS WONDERFUL!!!!

Melia Costa Rey: Good Resort

First visit to Pullman, Cayo Coco. Grounds: kept clean and nice. I would suggest planting more trees around the swimming pool or bring umbrellas Public areas: well maintained. Fabulous view from the main lobby. Food: as usual in Cuba. Basic food with a lot of variety. Negatives: the oven for pizza in 24 hours area broken for sometime. Also the espresso machine from the bar in 24 hours area was broken for the last 3 days of our trip.

Gran Muthu Imperial: Bad experience

I have been to different resorts in Cayo Coco and I like the area and the service received from the wonderful Cuban people. They are always very friendly and go out of their way for you. This resort was the worst I have ever been too. It may have been because it was off season, so I can excuse some of the lack of service but the basic services were not anywhere near a 4 star Room was spacious and clean, unless you took a closer look in the corners and the dust bunnies were multiplying. For  [... read more]a new hotel there shouldn’t be mold on the ceiling or on the bathroom. The shower leaked everywhere, had to use 3 towels everyday to dry the floors. My husband has a disability and nearly fell twice. Complained 3 times and we were told someone would have a look and nothing changed. Spoke too other guest who also stated their showers leaked all over too. The problem was the doors and around the bottom of shower where the glass meets the tiling had no rubber or grout, so the water would leak out. Food was horrible, minimal selection and what there was, was repeated at every meal. Thank goodness for omelets and the pasta station. Beach, all I can say is there is no beach at this resort. The sister resort next door had a nice beach, but you needed to walk over rocks to get to the beach because you were not able to walk a walkway from the one resort to the other and once you were at the sister resort you were not even allowed to have a drink of water. Pools, were not cleaned. There was grim around the edges and the bottom was never cleaned. The decks were never cleaned, no one picked up even cushions that fell off chairs. If you wanted an umbrella you needed to wait to find someone to bring you an umbrella. The main gathering area was extremely hot, that you could not sit in there and enjoy the evening entertainment. I understand it is the tropics, but the least they could do is having ceiling fans to move the dead air around. I felt sorry for the people working in this area, as it is truly unbearable.

Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: Can’t wait to go back!!!!

This hotel was fabulous, it was clean, modern and energy efficient! The food wasn’t so bad like I’ve heard, the Indian À la cart was so good we tried to book another night and was unable to because it was booked up. The staff was hard working and the grounds were very well maintained. Like I said “ I cannot wait to go back.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Would never go back

Where do I begin, The resort ran out of Ice, Cups and food. The A La Cart restaurants were impossible to get into , we had to argue for over an hour to get reservations and when we did they split our group of 6 to 2 tables of 4 and 2. When we arrived for our reservation in 1 of the A La Cart Restaurants and asked if the 2 tables could be close together the staff was very rude. 2 if the restaurants the air conditioning was not working it was barely bearable. My son is Type one Diabetic and I had to ask every day to have water in the room. We were 3 in our room and would only leave 2 small bottles of water. The misquotes were so horrible we could not stay outside at night at all. Tried to sit out to have a drink while waiting for our diner reservation at 8:30 PM and could not sit out side to wait. When I asked to speak to the Manager over the issues with the reservations waited for 30 mins and was given the reservations as I mentioned above for 2 table split up. The manager never spoke to me. The menus were provided had many items on that that we were told they did not have. The buffet ran out of food and you could clearly see preferential treatment for different colored bracelets. For some reason the Green Bracelets had preferred service in all aspects of the resort. This was our first trip to Cuba and after this will be our last.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: The perfect beach that's it!!

There was way too much mosquito it was unbearable ... Memories Resort Caribe Beach Resort has been transferred to the Cuban government. So, everything will be degraded very fast. No towel available all week, sprite, the food at the buffet was missing. The exchange rate used for convertible Cuban money was too high. The food at Cuba no surprise… Basically, if you pay more than $ 800 it's too expensive! The hotel is 4 stars, my opinion It's not more than 3 stars

Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: Family vacation!

We enjoyed our stay at the resort. Modern Newer Hotel with great potential but unfortunately was expecting a bit more. We visited Cuba more than 7 times and with this standard of Hotel we were expecting a lot more. Starting from the positives. The rooms were great. Most of the staff ie. reception, bar, and restaurants very helpful and work very hard. Especially in the heat the bar staff worked in harsh heat and were always attentive. As well as the snack bar staff and cook who really changed the oil for our daughter to maker her some fries ( she has celiac disease) (When the Cubans came, then the service exceptionally dropped as they would bud in lines in front and were served ahead of many people just because they spoke the language or something) For example I stood in line for a stir-fry with my daughter, the individual stood two people behind us then all of a sudden he communicated to the cook and picked up a plate and went in front of my daughter and took half of the meat off the grill and took off. Meanwhile we stood there like idiots. The drinks were great, the coffee very good. Loved the beach and the gardens as well as the layout which made it close to everything. Now the negatives: Food was horrible, we are not picky but it really was. If it wouldn't be for eggs, bread and Panini there really wasn't much. We are careful with what we eat and prefer grill and fried so we don't get poisoning. We also veggiesbut there was none but we were ok w that. The stir fries were ok at best but eating same thing everyday was becoming very tiresome. so towards the end we just stuck with bread and butter . The flies in the buffet were disgusting crawling over all the food and for that reason we preferred freshly made things. The fact that the Cubans came was fine but they were rude and left garbage everywhere. The lack of entertainment after the show was ridiculous everything closed after 11. The snack bar was the only place to be. The beach chairs were locked we couldn't come down earlier than 7 just to relax on the beach. The beach was dirty filled with plastic cups in the morning the workers were lazy to pick them up. Most of the time we would pick them up because couldn't bare to find them in the water later. All in all it was ok. Great weather great beach some great people working there perhaps making up for the lazy ones. Wouldn't recommend the hotel and most likely wouldn't be returning.

Gran Muthu Imperial: Nice resort!

We were at gran muthu imperial from Aug 7-14/19. We read reviews extensively before we went and can say that most of them were bang on! The water is beautiful and the weather was perfect. Pools were lovely especially infinity pool overlooking the turquoise water. Our room was amazing. Large and clean and cold. We Just ordered the standard room but it had an ocean view too. We stayed in building 9 on the third floor facing the pools. Beach was more rocky than expected. You could access the water [... read more] for our resort but it was a long walk to the left of our resort. We were told we could use the sister resorts beach but we were given a hard time walking thru the lobby to get to their beach. It is lovely. Sandy and shallow for miles. Crystal clear waters. Also did the catamaran trip (awesome if you like snorkelling) and went to Pilar beach too. Definitely a must see. Staff was pleasant and attentive at our resort but nothing over the top like previous resorts we’ve visited in the past in Cuba. Actually the staff at our nautical centre where we rented kayaks and flippers to snorkel had zero personality. Reviews about watered down drinks at pool bar seem accurate. The drinks weren’t great for that matter. Tasteless for most part. Best drinks were in the lobby bar. Can’t speak for the beach bar cause no one ever hung out there. Food was pretty standard for Cuba. Seemed like the same limited options day in and day out. We ate lunch daily at the open air snack bar food was decent there. Resort was very quiet. Only 200 guests while we were there. Hard to get the animation crew to inspire people to participate in afternoon activities. A prize bottle of rum would’ve been a good incentive to get more participation. Mosquitos were very bad in evening and early morning in the lobby. Bring bug spray. Overall a nice relaxing getaway.

Melia Cayo Coco: GREAT place for a quiet vacation

the beach is spectacular. Service, staff very courteous. I was looking for a quiet place, really remote and this was it. the only thing was the food was really not so great. It could have been better. the a-la-carte restaurants were really terrific so there's no reason for buffets to be so lackluster. otherwise great place. went solo and its very safe and comfortable.

Hotel Playa Paraiso: Another amazing stay!

I went for a week (July 29-Aug 4) for a third time since the hotel opened and it was just as great as the previous two times. The hotel has a new name and new management, but the experience was just as good. I took my parents with me this time; it was their first time to Cuba and to an all-inclusive and they loved it! It is a smaller hotel so staff remembers you. Thank you to Oscar, Ubisnel and Annelys at Customer Service that ensured our stay was everything we were hoping for and more. The Entertainment team is great!! There is always something going on. Miguel is at the beach every morning doing volleyball, aquafit, dance. In the afternoon, he and the rest of the entertainment team is at the pool for water games, Zumba, dance lessons. The nightly shows are very good. They are a good mix of music, dance and audience participation. The servers at the buffet were always happy to see us. We always sat in the same area so they servers remembered us. Great service also at the snack bar, lunch buffet and a la carte restaurants. The beach is this hotel is beautiful!! Definitely the best beach from the 3 hotels on that beach. We will be returning!

Melia Costa Rey: Terrible! Hygiene issues!

I know not to expect a 5 star in Cuba to be a true 5 star but I do expect it to be a 4 star atleast. IMO this resort was a 2* and that’s based solely on the resort’s service (or lack there of) and hygiene (or lack there of). My twins got sick from the bacteria in the pool on day 2 and had to be on antibiotics for the entire holiday! Plus they got hand, foot and mouth in the last day. We found a dead mouse right outside the main buffet...no soap in the public bathrooms....just a few examples. [... read more] Running out of food/drink items regularly and making no effort to help....a few examples of service issues. Wish I had paid more attention to the negative customer reviews before booking.

Very good clean the hospitality was fantastic The staff was friendly helpful And kind. On the airplane delay was not good. All in all we had a wonderful vacation. We can only say thank you for booking to that beautiful resort

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Fabulous beach

Best beach I have ever been to and I have been to many. Friendly staff, clean rooms and fabulous weather. You can't ask for more. Often people complain about the food but if they want gourmet Cuba is not for them. You can have gourmet at home. We never went hungry and if you are not too finicky you will always find something to your taste. If you go for the beach, all the cuban beaches are paradise. You eill never be disappointed.

Melia Costa Rey: Hidden Gem in Cayo Coco

The Pullman Resort has been restored to its glory after the hurricane that hit there. The staff are professionals. Checkin was a breeze. The arrival to our room was quick and well organized. The room was spacious and very clean. Having a shaving kit and toothbrushes with toothpaste is an unexpected touch. Well done. The restaurants are very nice, well laid out. Mia, Youris, Lady, Betty, Richard and Genie in a bottle and Junior did a great job. The night entertainment was excellent as well. The rock show was well worth the 5 encores we gave them. The Michael Jackson show was as if he was on stage for us. We will definitely be back to Pullman Cayo Coco. A great week.

Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: Great vacation at Grand Muthu

Great time at Grand Muthu resort on a family vacation at end of July, 2019. Front reception (Surely) was very quick and accommodated our requests promptly especially the room change for my mom from the 3rd floor to the 2nd floor. The hotel is beautiful, staff members are very friendly. The entertainment staff, especially the twins were very energetic and fun to be around; the nightly shows were quite amazing, really enjoyed them. The beach and the water were beautiful and safe.

Melia Costa Rey: Great times at Pullman Cayo Coco

This was our second time around at Pullman Cayo Coco and we loved it. Renovated and expanded services since hurricane Irma. Very good and curteous service staff in the Collection adult section. Food was very good and selection also. Beach ocean and hotel surroundings are beautiful combined to a 15 minute drive from airport. Would definitely go back and recommend to Friends for easy going vacation

We traveled in a group of seven people (incl 2 seniors and 2 kids) the week of July 29th. The overall experience was good. We kind of knew what to expect of the resort as this was our second stay (1st in April of 2018)... this time however, there were few hiccups. The bad: - no beach towels in the room - got 3 out of 4 after the third request (if you run into any issues, go straight to the front desk, phone requests get ignored). - cockroach in a bathroom in one of our rooms welcomed us on th [... read more]e first day. Got rid of it by ourselves, but left light on 24/7 in a bathroom as apparently they like to come out when it's dark. - no hot or even warm water for the first two days, after that no problem whatsoever. - big problem with ants! in the bathroom and room. Our cleaning lady had to put a blanket one day on the floor and then back on the bed as we had plenty of then in the blanket and bed. Once again, had to take care of things by ourselves. - in general staff in the resort is very friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately, I can not say same about our cleaning lady or the staff at the front desk. Someone put them on the job as a punishment, can't think of any other explanation. - flies in the buffet! not sure if there is anything that could be done about it though...? - no flour (bread, pancakes, pizza) on the resort for 4 out of 7 days of our stay. Not exactly a resort issue I guess, thought I would mention as this might be an issue for some. The GOOD: - BEACH! This beach is everything we travel to Cuba for. 3rd time to Cayo Coco, 2nd in this resort. Would go back again just for the beach :) - very good night entertainment / shows. Can't say much about pool staff as we spend minimum time there and only in the evening. - pool was clean - no problem with AC in our rooms - food and drinks were fine - interestingly, male waitresses were awesome, 90% of female waitresses apparently did not like their jobs. Sorry ladies. The resort definitely needs some improvement in management but overall great vacation. Solid 4*

Gran Muthu Imperial: Perfect vacation

My husband and I had the pleasure of stay at Gran Muthu Imperial from July 26 - Aug 2 and enjoyed every minute. The hotel is beautiful, very modern and upscale. The lobby provided so much space to relax and just enjoy the surroundings. The grounds and rooms are kept immaculate. We were upgraded to an ocean view room which was tended to every day by Mariliene. The room was spacious and very comfortable. We can't say enough about the staff we interacted with. It's clearly obvious that they have received excellent training and it shows in their professionalism and attentiveness. Each day we sat in the buffet and were attended to by Lisandra and Yanet who greeted us from the beginning with smiles and genuine kindness. The pools are beautiful, especially the infinity pool overlooking the ocean. We spent a lot of our time there just relaxing and enjoying the pool bar service with Jennifer and 'Y' (can't recall how to spell his name) who were funny and always welcoming. We found there was always a good selection of food in the buffet and always found something good to eat. The attention to detail is excellent. We also ate at the Chinese and International and enjoyed a good variety of professionally presented and tasteful dishes. Overall our vacation was exactly what we were looking for. Relaxing, stress free and with wonderful service. The resort met our expectations and we will definitely be back. Thanks for making our time away so special.
