Lifestyle Tropical Beach Resort: Beautiful Resort

The resort is very secure with guards, beautiful room with balcony, lots of dressers, buffet staff very friendly and food fabulous. Brazilian a la carte a must to go (book immediately) ..skewers of ribs, prime rib, chicken, turkey..yum! VIP BEACH is lovely with plenty of canopy beds, sushi bar, 4 jacuzzi's, snack bar and free wi-fi there only. There are steps so you'll get your exercise. Beach is small and wavy. Animation team was fabulous and full of energy and made you smile. Many pools to choose from but get a lounger for when there is the FOAM or COCONUT party at Tropical. Shows at the Confesi were very good. Try to see Michael Jackson show Fri. night. It rained every day Feb. 6-13 so shows that were to be at the Colosseum on Tropical were transferred to Confesi. shuttles came quick or a 5 min walk. VIP party at the Dome by Ocean World is a MUST..Dancing, drinking, singing, robots, amazing costumes, then show on upper level..like Los Vegas..then afterwards more dancing, drinking..a great night. Lifestyle Tropical Beach Resort: We truly love this resort!

The grounds and facilities are extreme clean. The employee service at all restaurants, buffets and bars are consistently excellent. The quality of food is supremely great!!! The rooms are cleaned very well each day with fresh new linen. We've been here 6 times, and we don't have a "time share" with them. Senator Puerto Plata Hotel: A week in Paradise

All the grounds, rooms and public areas are clean and well-maintained. Rooms are spacious, but the bed is hard enough to cause discomfort. Although the selection at the buffet was good, we only found it to be just okay and in fact found the meat consistently overcooked. Entertainment - the big shows were hokey, repetitive, and downright annoying. We love live music, and the best came by way of the duo that performed before the shows. Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Great resirt

Food great, grounds well kept, staff very friendly and helpful! Rooms were in need of an upgrade however very clean and well kept. Anything you needed or wanted was only a call to the front desk and they brought to you immediately. Hotel was 1.5 hours from airport bus stopped at a bar/cafe for anyone to use washrooms or to get a refreshment

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Great Stay

The Iberostar was great. The food was good, even my fussy kids found something to eat. The Japanese and Mexican was very good. The rooms were well kept and service was great. The pool is large and everyone from 10 to 50 found lots to do.

Viva Tangerine by Wyndham: Cabarete's Only All Inclusive

This is an extremely well cared & beautiful property. The beach is fantastic,stretching about 2 miles to the left & 1 mile to the right of the resort. It seems to cater to European travelers (mostly German,Swiss & Swedish.) Most had limited or no English which makes it hard to interact. There is only 1 Bar.(Long Lines). This could be eliminated by putting the Beer taps facing the guests to pour their own,freeing up the bar staff for the complicated drinks.Decent buffet-too many sausages & NO  [... read more]BACON Lots of bars & good restaurants 10 minute walk down the beach. Cab rides to those same bars are $7 U.S.- ridiculous & most of the cabbies don't even know the restaurant names or locations. If you are in groups walk.

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Good resort

The resort was nice, clean, friendly. A little small for my liking but enjoyed it cause I had my kids and everything was close. Staff was very nice and great at getting you to participate in games they had everyday. Lots of games for everyone to participate in.

Casa Marina Sosua Trademark by Wyndham All Inclusive: Review report Cassa Marinia Resort Reef Jan31-Feb.07,2018

The room was located in a quite area it was nice to have a Ocean view room . It was very far from the front desk as I have arthritis in both knees and hips but once I was at my room it was satisfactory. The rooms could be renovated as the furniture was scratched and marked . But it was kept clean . The staff were not friendly at the buffet. They didn't greet with a Ola and smile as a matter of fact some seemed in a bad mood. Upon arrival I felt they could have had more staff at the desk to get people through after a long day 3 hrs. at airport 5 hrs. flying and the last ones to be booked into our rooms I was exhausted. Unless they have a good staff meeting with their staff on how to take care of all inclusive guest I wouldn't recommend to stay there .

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: VERY PLEASING RESORT 10 days( back on Feb 8/18)

We had an excellent 10 day vacation. Well kept grounds & nice HUGE pool. The food was very good with lots to choose from. We were in Room 8201 which was very nice & would like to thank Jocelina Bayes for taking care of us. Jorge, Claudio & all other bar staff were Very friendly with smiles & jokes. The Entertainment Crew were very good. You have to go to Le Petit Francois on the beach at the market if you are Canadian (they have Poutine). There were not too many Vendors on the beach. Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: vacation from hell

Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: Thieves!

In one word this resort is a fraud and a thief! The customer service manager named KATHY is a thief she stole money from our group. They charged us $200 per person to upgrade the room and once we we went there gave us sewage facing rooms. Made us sign a paper that states we are getting a refund and it’s been over a month and no one is responds back. Mind you ours was a group of 15. VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Great staff nice resort

The staff does an amazing job here , the property isn't huge but it's part of the playa Dorado complex and I think one of if not the nicest one . Foods pretty good drinks are pretty good beach is pretty nice pool is decent size for property kind of 3 leaf clover shaped , rooms nice size and clean . 3*+ imho on world scale but for the price I'd definitely recommend.

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Amazing Entertainment

I was amazed by some of the things there..Most of the staff was above and beyond amazing. The Food was usually good..Breakfast was my Favorite. The staff was either on the ball or you had to hunt them down. Long days long shifts not enough days off. I will be going to the Bahia in Mexico next. Sadly the area is so poor I felt not safe to leave the resort. We did we took a taxi and the driver was amazing he kept us safe 1 million %. Carlos and most of his team AMAZING. So friendly and HAPPY. [... read more] Air transat guy was not so great. All he cared about was sales not customer friendly. Above all Great vacation. Beaches amazing. Not bothered by the locals as bad as other Vacations Thanks for that. :)

Casa Marina Reef Resort: Nice Hotel

It was a pleasure stay there, good beach and pool, food was delicious and rooms was very good, we stayed in a renovated one. Just to remark need more staff in the Restaurant and Bars. we went outside for shopping also to the public beach. we ate fresh seafood, was fantastic and safe. of course people trying to sell things.

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Good ROI (return on investment)

This resort never fails to satisfy. Very consistent in their service, food, security and entertainment. We were pleased to see ongoing maintenance being done-painting, repairs, deep cleaning. We left comments for food to be updated in terms of health value-more zoodles, lower calorie, more nutritious with less cream sauces. Rooms could stand updating but overall well-worth the money. This was our 4th visit and we are going back.

VH Gran Ventana Beach Resort: Good Resort

Beautifully kept grounds. As with most resorts the alcohol seems weaker and you have to specifically request "strong" as in alcohol content. You must put a bracelet on upon check in. Clean rooms - a little too cold. Great variety at the buffet dining room.

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Not a 4 Star!

The room was clean and maid service was good. Although buffet was fairly repetitive, the food was hot and tasty. The main desk proved to be helpful and most staff were friendly. We enjoyed the Mexican alacarte and also tried Mediterranean and Brazilian, but did not like as well. But, on a whole, I would not rate as a 4 Star.

Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: Overall nice resort

We stayed Jan 23-Feb 6/18, this was our first time in the Dominican, as we normally go to Mexico. The resort is very large with lots of steps, but we knew this when we booked. Its definitely not a place to go if you have limited mobility etc. There are shuttles and golf carts everywhere to take you wherever you wanted to go, but never used them because we like to walk and see everything. Rooms were ok at best. We had quite a few things wrong with our room (toilet seat broken, patio doo [... read more]rs didn't lock, shower head was horrible, most days no hot water, coffee maker broken) But we didn't spend much time in here, so we didn't focus on it a lot. Food was awesome! There was always something different at the Pearl Buffet. We stayed for 2 weeks and very rarely saw the same items twice. The made to order omelettes were delicious, bread was so fresh, hubby loved the pizza, snacks by the beach were great - we have zero complaints about any of the food at all. Most of the staff were amazing, with the exception of the Front desk, they truly didn't seem to care about you, your concerns or your vacation. We learnt quickly to just bypass the front desk completely, because nothing got done anyways. Example - we had our A/C break, went to front desk at 7am before we left for an excursion, came back at 7pm and it was still broken. Called a maintenance guy at 7:30pm, the A/C was fixed by 8pm! We had no water, pop, beer in our fridge, talked to front desk who acted concerned, but by the next day we still had nothing. We saw one of the guys who stocked the fridges and talked to him, he took care of us with a smile! So my suggestion - if you have an issue try and find the person/department and they will solve it quickly for you. But as for the rest of the staff they were truly amazing!! We met so many that were awesome and a few who are now lifelong friends! Wilfredo William @ the Aqua bar is such an amazing guy who is always smiling, whistling, high fiving - he truly loves his job and we definitely will miss him! Victoriano Castillo @ Frost bar is awesome - he always made us feel welcome and would never let our drinks get close to empty...even if we were trying to leave lol. Kelvin Ivan who seemed to float around everywhere is so friendly and awesome, he actually seeked us out on our last day just to give me a hug goodbye! The entertainment guys were awesome and so hilarious - these guys always tried to get everyone up, moving and having fun! Hats off to Chocolate, Monkey & Shu Fly, you guys are truly awesome!!! We enjoyed walking up to the new Kviar casino. The drinks there were absolutely amazing and made with premium alcohol. Normally I'm not picky when it comes to this type of thing, but the difference in pina coladas made with the premixed slushy stuff and the fresh fruit/whipped cream at the casino was literally night and day. I also got to enjoy my mudslides at the casino, as the rest of the resort didn't carry kahula... I definitely recommend checking out the casino for a different atmosphere. The cost of the wifi kind of blew me away....they wanted $30 a day or $70 a week...like really? I don't go on vacation to sit on the internet, but I do require some access to touch base with family etc throughout the 2 weeks. We did figure out that if you walked up to the duty free store by the Tropical there was free wifi, so that was perfect. We don't really have any complaints about the resort. We did find the smell of sewage in the middle of the resort absolutely horrendous. This smell was there day & night and sometimes we could even smell it when sitting on our balcony. *yuck* We also hated the early morning phone calls...I can't even tell you who kept trying to call because I just unplugged the phone. We were on vacation....8am phone calls...really? It was probably to do the tour to get our "welcome gift", but we weren't interested in doing that either. The guys kept saying it would take 20 mins of our time. Our neighbours went on the tour and did the 20 mins, and then they were taken to the VIP building and were told it would be another 2ish hours. They walked out. I'm not wasting 3 hours of my vacation having people trying to pressure me into buying something that won't happen. We just firmly told them no, and they left us alone...but they do wait outside of the Pearl buffet waiting for you to leave like vultures. Overall we had an amazing vacation, and enjoyed our time here for sure. Would we go back to this resort? I couldn't say for sure if we would...the staff that went out of our way to ensure our vacation was awesome would be the only reason we probably would go back.

All the grounds were kept up great The food was great and kept clean the rooms were great and neat, but the floors and counters could have been washed more often The Hotel staff were great and helpful The reno done on this place was top notch! It definitely was a 4*.............

Riu Merengue: Poor Performance

The hotel was recently sold and will cease operations in May. The staff have not been advised if they will be retained or not. Service people in all areas of the hotel are essentially walking dead. To reduce cost the hotel has closed half the restaurants and there is insufficient space for all the guests in the main dining room. Guests must wait to get a table and have to clean it themselves because there are not sufficient staff. Food lines are over ten minutes. This is a 2 Star hotel.
