Playa Pesquero: Lovely resort and beautiful beach
We enjoyed the resort itself and the beach was beautiful. It is quite large and spread out. The grounds and buildings were well kept and facilities were clean (public washrooms were kept clean and supplied with toilet paper). For the most part the staff were very friendly and helpful. The beach is beautiful and you can go snorkeling close to shore or enjoy larger quantities of fish further out in the water. It's nice to do as many a-la-carte restaurants as you can although the buffet with the p [... read more]
Resonance Blu Varadero: Nice resort
Nice resort beautiful grounds and pools are doing some renovating staff was very good housekeeper keep my room nice and clean 2 ladies in the buffet were awesome the cooks where very accommodating some of the fountains weren't working took away a bit of the beauty
Gran Muthu Imperial: Nice beaches.. plenty of sun but..
Just came back firm this resort… as you know there are plenty of food supply problems on the Island so if you expect bread, eggs, all kinds of booze or nice colourful Paris like dessert everyday, it’s simply not going to be here. Staff work 16 hrs a day so imagine how you would feel at the end of your shift.. soo if you expect smily faces.. there are some but not that many.. they try and it’s hard. There are obvious management problems like the cigar bar with a locked cabinet with no keys so you [... read more]
Iberostar Selection Varadero: Great time
Clean, friendly, the most beautiful beach. For us, (retired) the perfect size. Food you don’t expect good food in Cuba. But cooked food was always cold. Wifi was awful and menus were QR Codes ????difficult to open without wifi. No Coffee maker in room. We didn’t find that to big a deal. All the staff was wonderful and lots of them that switch rolls, so instead of tipping one, you’re tipping 3 or 4. That being said. We will return.
Paradisus Los Cayos: Impressed!!
Beautiful resort, we enjoyed every day there. Beautiful resort and awesome beach. The only minor setback was food shortages due to state of things in Cuba. Buffet was not as extensive as usual but still was very good. Great resort for the money.
Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: I would go back again
Resort has some shortcoming but I would go back there , staff are friendly in general, front desk needs some improvement, food actually got better every day passed, there were some ladies doing a great job with pasta, fried fish lunch and dinner, omelet in the mornings interval young substitute not as much but overall I was totally fine with food. Rooms need real update, some had water issues during our stay. The selection of drinks were limited. The best bar is the one next to lobby, great S [... read more]
Grand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort: Beautiful resort
The resort is lovely, the beach and weather are perfect but they need better management. The lines for food are horrible. They have two toasters (sometimes) but you have to put the bread (which is delicious when they have it) through four and five times before it is toasted which makes for long lines of hungry, angry people. I would go again though as the rooms were nice and the staff were lovely
Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Not so great
Definitely do not recommend this resort. Rooms are terrible food is 2 out of 10 and if you are coming with kids make sure to bring lots of snacks. Understand that the economy is currently bad in Cuba but I've seen less rating resorts with better service and food than this 4+ star resort. Do some research before booking.
Gran Muthu Almirante Beach Resort: Gran Muthu Almirante - A beautiful resort!
The resort is very lovely. It's an easy walk to restaurants, the stunning beach, bars and main areas. We opted for the Adult Only package and therefore had our "own" check in area, butler, beach area, bar and restaurant. The Elite restaurant was the best food to be had and the wait staff were all excellent. In fact all the staff at the resort were outstanding. Bring your favorite spices though. Aside from ketchup and mustard there were no condiments and there was not a lot of flavor to the [... read more]
Starfish Guardalavaca: Awesome resort
The staff are friendly, rooms are clean and the beaches are amazing. The resort is located beside a boulevard with little shops lining it. A market of souvenirs is located on the other side. Across the street is a lovely restaurant with delicious food and reasonable prices. we always feel safe at this resort. We love our home away from home.
Valentin Cayo Cruz: March 17-24
Total trip time from airport to resort is 90 minutes, this included an additional drop off . We were greeted with a smile and a song from animation team, followed by a quick and friendly check-in. Rooms were ready immediately as we did arrive earlier than expected. Spacious clean and upgraded rooms, huge walk-in shower, plenty of hot water. Large balcony with view of ocean. Large , clean and quiet resort. Beach is endless white sand groomed daily. Plenty of beach chairs but limited shade area, [... read more]
Playa Luxury Cayo Las Brujas: Beautiful, Resort, Incredible, Beaches, Amazing Staff
The hotel is a beautiful, quiet, clean, small, adult only hotel. The rooms are very nicley appointed and are kept nice and clean by the housekeeping staff. We have stayed at this hotel on three occaisions and will return. Although there are new staff members, many are still here from our very first visit and they remember you. The views are incredible, the beaches the best you will find anywhere in Cuba. There is no problem finding a place to lounge at the beach or at the two pools. And as a spe [... read more]
Melia Cayo Coco: More then expected ?
Let me open by saying I’m a straight shooter and i do not benefit in anyway in writing this review. First thanks to Robyn at trip central for recommending the Melia cayo coco. The resort was very nice and extremely clean, the rooms were average and spacious. The pool is again very nice with plenty of lounge chairs and a handful of cabanas, the beach was great and again well maintained. Now the restaurants and food, the breakfast , lunch and dinner buffets were fantastic with plenty of variety a [... read more]
Don Lino Hotel: This year-poor Cuba. Don Lino had trouble with power, water available for showers. But the people are wonderful.
I like this resort. The beach is good. There is coral, so wear your beach shoes. The pool is small. The returning cliental (like myself) love the small village feel. The staff have become friends. It is very rural, but there are horse carts to get around. I took things to the village school, and staff. Some people moved to other resorts, but I stayed. Got a great tan. Swam in the ocean at least twice a day, and got my nails done in the village. Went snorkeling from 3 different beaches [... read more]
Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: Nice Resort
The resort was nice, well kept. Beaches and pools were beautiful. People super friendly and helpful. Downside for a family friendly hotel was dinner times were late. Only option for buffet or al la cartes was 6:30pm. Had 3 small children in our group so meal times at dinner was late. Should have had a 5:00pm option. Also basketball court on site, but no ball. Pool table on site but no cues.
Playa Luxury Cayo Las Brujas: Not impressed
The hotel, beach, pool and grounds were very beautiful, however check in was horrible and took forever. Most of the food was prepared in a very Cuban way. You have to be adventurous with your eating or you will be eating buns and fruit. They ran out of eggs and wine part way through the week. Their idea of sausage is weiners. The two a la carte restaurants were beautiful to look at, and they prepared really nice salads and soups, but the entrees were not good. We had a couple of bites of lobster [... read more]
Gran Muthu Almirante Beach Resort: Best Resort Ever!
This is by far the best resort I've visited in Cuba so far. The grounds are spotless as are the common areas within the hotel itself. Cuba does have some shortages but nobody will ever suffer from missing an egg or a glass of wine. The food available was quite good for working within their limitations. I did stay in adult section with dedicated restaurant and bars but did visit the buffet and food variety was plentiful. A la'carte restaurants also very good with Japanese being my favourite. Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Beautiful Resort
The grounds and public areas were beautiful and well maintained. Our rooms were exactly what we expected with the amenities we were looking for. The resort went out of their way to meet all of our booking requests and we all had lovely rooms on the same floor. The beach was outstanding and the resort facilities met all of our needs. The staff continually went above and beyond to meet our requests and they were warm and friendly throughout our stay!
Brisas Guardalavaca: Very Old Resort
Cuba has beautiful beaches. Brisas has a beautiful beach close to the resort. Loved that about this resort. BUT this resort NEEDS some serious renos. Its as old as the hills. The FOOD was horrible. Same thing to eat day after day breakfast lunch and dinner. By the last day I barely ate anything. Not to mention that I have a food allergy GLUTEN ALLERGY. and was already limited to what I could eat. Plus the birds that were finding their way into the dining room were also helping themselves [... read more]
Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Okay Resort
Lobby was inviting and the food and food staff were very good! Room quality was not good. Phone did not work, safe was broken, only hot water. Reported to frontdesk and was told by work people that came to our room; they could not do anything about it. Housekeeping was not great . Grounds people were extremely friendly.
