Sunscape Curacao Resort: Loved this resort!

Most importantly the beach was incredible and you could snorkel right there. Our room was perfect and steps to the beach. Incredible sunsets every night!! We enjoyed the buffet, cafe and all the restaurants. We booked the 4 wheeler excursion right across the road. From the resort there was a free shuttle into the beautiful town of Williamstead daily. This resort had a nice casual feel with many kind people. Not far from the airport.

Sonesta Maho Beach: Very nice resort

We had a great time, very nice resort. Very clean all around and took extra precautions for corona virus by asking everyone to use hand sanitizer before entering any restaurant areas plus the staff served us our food. Nobody touched anything related to the food. The only draw back for me was that there are no places to walk to as there are not many stores or things to see unless we went by bus or taxi. Sunscape Curacao Resort: Wonderful resort for families

I really felt everything about this resort exceeded expectations from the rooms, food, drinks, service, pools, and especially the beach which was so close, sandy, and beautiful for snorkeling. The resort is not perfect, some aspects are dated but it really offered more than we could possibly need. Have reasonable expectations and you will be very pleased. Sunscape Curacao Resort: More a 3* property

The resort is an older property with a newer tower. The older rooms are dated. I was in two different rooms that required maintenance. The rooms are kept clean. A good supply of towels are changed daily and amenities like shampoo and lotions are supplied. A fridge is stocked daily. The beach is nice but not all soft sand. More shade areas need to be set up. I could not walk along the beach to other resorts but you can access them by walking out to the road. Sunscape Curacao Resort: Wonderful Stay

This was a wonderful extremely clean Resort. Our rooms were cleaned daily and the fridge replenished. There were reviews that the food was a hit and miss but we thoroughly enjoyed everything. We were told there was a new chef so maybe this is why. The buffet is not big like a RIU but the food is spiced and sauced just perfectly. The Seafood and Grill restaurants are right in the beach. The thing we really enjoyed is these are some of the friendliest people we have ever met. Very happy people anywhere u went. U are a 10 minute walk to the Sea Aquarium and Mambo beach. An island tour can be arranged at the desk where ur tour guide “Papi” will entertain u to make this one of the best tours to choose. Everyone we spoke to seemed to have no complaints and we would recommend this hotel. The weather was excellent with a breeze It was very enjoyable. We found the location to be great and a 2 dollar bus ride gets u to downtown Williamstad where u can shop and enjoy the culture.

Sunscape Curacao Resort: Definitely a 4 star

The resort it self is very out dated. The food is ok, Japanese and sea food a la Cartes are quite good. This resort is definitely a 4 star, despite the fact that the staff was excellent. Left feeling I paid way too much for this experience. Could have done a lot better else where for the money. As a result I would have a hard time recommending this resort and no I won’t be going back.

Dreams Curacao Resort Spa and Casino: Nice resort

The hotel was very nice and quite small so quiet. They are trying hard to get organized but still have a ways to go. The dining facilities are adequate but I found the hot food on the buffet was always lukewarm at best. There are few restaurants on site and one of the nicest was closed 3 of our 7 nights which was disappointing. We only found out with two days to go that there was an al a carte lunch available at one of the outdoor restaurants. It would be nice if there was better communicat [... read more]ion or something posted in the lobby area as to what is open that day for lunch or dinner and then you could make choices. The pool and beach was nice but there was no place to go for a walk along the beach as it was quite small. The house wine was not good at all and buying the premium wines each day was quite expensive and they were always out of the ones you chose. We were at the resort during Carnival so the hotel shuttle was not running for 3 days during this event. The only way into town was by taxi which was very expensive. Again we wished this would have been communicated to us when we arrived so we could have made plans for another day. The weather is wonderful!

Sonesta Maho Beach: Great Resort

I visited this resort with my friend and we stayed here from Feb 20 to 27. Prior to leaving for our trip I read all the recent reviews and was well aware of the virus outbreak. We arrived very prepared and noticed all the precautions posted around the resort. I only heard of one instance where 2 family members of a bigger party were effected and this was on our first day there. After that I did not come across anyone else effected so it's safe to say that this is under control. This was th [... read more]e smallest resort that I ever stayed at and you don't get a big variety of restaurants that you typically get at big resorts. I was fine with this. We were most impressed with The Point and ate there twice. The Palms was pretty good as well. I typically avoid eating dinners at buffet restaurants but this one impressed me and had 3 dinners here. The buffet is not big and may lack some variety that people in other reviews have mentioned but I found their quality to be good and food was fresh. The grounds and rooms are modern. Our A/C was functioning properly, the rooms were clean and showers worked well with constant pressure and hot water. Two thumbs up on this. I felt the workers were mostly polite, friendly and did their best to attend to everyone. I don't understand some of the complaints posted here. Maybe I don't let the little things bother me or I'm not some snobby, demanding, full of himself type of a person. Even though there is no true beach on the resort there is a man-made beach overlooking Maho Beach and the ocean. You literally just have to get up from your chair and walk 50 meters and you're on the beach and in the water. If you walk another 200 meters you reach the airport and get yourself some postcard moment pictures of the planes landing. It's spectacular if you're into that. The big planes land and take-off between 1:00 and 6:00 pm so they won't wake you up or prevent you from falling asleep. It's a silly complaint if you claim it's loud all day long. You should already have known that this resort is near an airport and avoided coming here if it bothers you. Finally, you're doing yourself disservice if you don't get off the resort and explore the island a bit. Maho Beach is on the west side of the island so you'll need to use a taxi or rental car if you want the flexibility to be mobile. Taxis here are a little expensive. From Maho Beach to Orient Beach or Cul-de-Sac (opposite end of the island) taxi costs $40 USD one-way for 2 people. It's an extra $5 for each additional passenger. Taxi from Maho to Philipsburg or Marigot is $20-25 one-way. We took a bus from Maho to Philipsburg and it cost each of us $2 one-way and the bus ride was 25-30 minutes long which was not bad. We visited Philipsburg on a Sunday which was one of their off-days for cruises coming in so we had the beach all to ourselves. We paid $25 for an umbrella, 2 chairs and 5 drinks. Another trip we made was to Pinel Island on the French side. The ferry pick-up is from Cul-de-Sac, it costs $12 return ferry and it's a 10 minute ride to get there. The island is small but the water is super shallow, clear and very safe to swim. I recommend you consider it. I looked into taking a ferry to Anguilla, the cost of the ferry is $90 return. I think it's the same cost to go to St Barth's. St Maarten is known for their Guavaberry Coladas as well as BBC's. Try those drink. I definitely recommend this resort and visiting St Maarten.

Sonesta Maho Beach: Loved It

Resort is not too big..safe for single females..can walk to shops, pubs, grocery, pharmacy if needed and casino. New and very clean. Airplanes come in over Maho beach unbelievable. I had no complaints about the food except the quality of the sandwiches in Cafe and NO sugar free drinks at bars for mix.

Sandals Royal Curacao: Nice resort but too quiet.

We stayed at the Santa Barbara resort in mid Feb. The resort is beautiful,rooms are nicely decorated we had a view of the water. Sadly this resort lacks entertainment of any kind. Theres no music at the pool or organized games. In the evening there isn't even any entertainment in the bar area. On Wed evening we found out from other guests not staff there was a beach bbque and thought great that should be fun. There were about 20 people there, so sad since at this event there was entertainment [... read more]! If you want a really quiet vacation then this is the spot.

Plaza Beach Resort Bonaire: Nice resort. Very quiet.

Very nice. Quite. Doing renovations to make it better. New pool. It was great. Rooms were big and clean. Food was very good. Lots of friendly servers. Clean resort. Dive shop on site. They were very good to deal with. Maybe a little music near the pool would be nice. Maybe there when Reno’s are done and one or two nights of nightly entertainment would be good.

Sonesta Maho Beach: Wonderful Resort and Amazing People!

Once again I would like to thank Linda Lavoie for planning an amazing holiday. The resort was clean and decorated nicely. The resort staff were very helpful and did there best to make your stay great. The a la carte restaurants were all good except Jin's. It could use some improvement. The only downside was there were no chairs to sit on the beach because the sand was washed away from the hurricane. The ocean water was a beautiful blue and the beach was soft sand that you could still walk up and [... read more] down on. The planes were interesting to watch flying in over the beach to land at the airport. The Norovirus was affecting people at the resort and the staff took all precautions to stop the spread. Courtyard Bonaire Dive Resort: Great one week stay

Nice hotel with clean rooms and beautiful grounds. Its located a bit far from almost everything so you should take care of your transportation. We rented a scooter for the whole stay. The island is pretty small so we were able to see almost everything (except the national park) on the scooter.

Plaza Beach Resort Bonaire: Excellent Holiday

We have been on 18 Caribbean Vacations and this one topped them all. The room seemed as large as a small house. Beds were very comfortable. Maids did a great job house keeping and all amenities were always replaced including bottled water. Meals had lots of variety’s of meats, vegetables, breads and fruits/deserts. I know I gained a few pounds. Pool is beautiful, even had bar service delivery, snorkling was amazing right off the shore. Sunscape Curacao Resort: Friendly Sunscape!

Beach front units are great. The resort is so already out that you don’t realize how big it actually is. Enjoyed not having to make reservations for the a la carte restaurants and each and many of the staff at Sunscape go out of their way for you. Snorkeling right off the beach is fantastic - would go again!

Curacao Marriott Beach Resort: Newly refurbished resort and they've done a fantastic job.

This resort has recently been refurbished and the results are amazing. The staff are excellent, the beach is wonderful (even some reasonable snorkeling) and the grounds are immaculate. They have several restaurants but not a big difference in levels of quality/ambience. There are very few off-premise restaurants that are within walking distance but there are a couple that offer a good change in menu. Everything was exceptional with no complaints, except one. The only option for breakfast  [... read more]is a $26 buffet. While it is an excellent buffet, we really don't want, or need, such a huge breakfast everyday. If they had a menu option available it would be much better. Otherwise you can only purchase a croissant or muffin which isn't really "vacation" food. If you are looking for a quality, relatively quiet place with excellent service, then I would recommend the Marriott. PS there is no casino at the Marriott but there is one next door at Dreams.

Excellent service from arrival to departure. We had a great pleasure to stay here. Staff is very professional, friendly and helpful. Room was clean with modern furniture and with all amenities you may need. The bed was King-size and very comfortable for sleep. The hotel restaurant Ocean Terrace International was exceptional, not only because every meal we enjoyed had a variety of options and was flavorful but also for its location with ability to watch the sunset! Sunscape Curacao Resort: Five Star Resort!

This resort was exceptionally clean with very friendly staff and excellent restaurants and a very exceptional buffet. The pools were pretty but had a lot of steps and planters for decoration where you had to be careful not to trip or scratch yourself on the concrete. The rooms were lovely and large with clean, modern bathrooms. The resort is right on the ocean and the snorkeling was excellent. The staff had good entertainment that was different each night of our 7 day stay. Our only complai [... read more]nt was the extremely loud music that could be heard from a resort down the beach that went until after 2:00 am in the morning. I would definitely recommend this family resort to anyone.

Sonesta Maho Beach: Amazing Resort

Restaurant were limited, there was only the Buffet for Breakfast, the other Restaurant on the Resort needed Reservations. The only had Koski available to view what was going on at the Resort, I would suggest maybe a hand out slipped under the door of each room nightly so that all guests knew what was going at the resort that day. Staff were very Friendly and Helpful.
