Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Great service!

Staff was very accommodating, moved me to a ground floor room because of Mobility issues. Service was great, meal service was great, food not so much. Several days the choices were so poor we left the resort to eat. Thai dinner was good. Japanese dinner was so bad we left halfway through. Overall a good experience, I will be back. West Jet people were great.

We had a 3rd floor ocean view which was great. The hotel offered six different pools and we utilized the adults only one and were glad of this as there were a number of young children present although this did not affect the dining areas. The grounds were neatly kept and the area certainly had a Mexican ambience. The main dining area was large and open that made it possible to be breezy.. We were  [... read more]impressed by the wide, long sandy beach that reached for some distance and to our amazement, the ocean water was rather warm and pleasant. The breakfasts were great as we usually had the omelets, papaya, croissants or sweet buns. Although there was a variety of fresh salads and cut vegetables, we avoided these as we were considered the possibility of contaminated water (which didn't seem to affect those who used them). The special dining opportunities were better than the main hall and we considered the Japanese one to be better than the rest. We walked up the hill to the large grocery store where my husband purchased a 10 litre jug of purified water weighing 22 pounds and this lasted us for over five days although he maids did supply us with 3 half litre bottles of water. . The Day of the Dead performance was great! We found that service of the servers and maids was commendable while main desk personnel were helpful. We were happy with this resort considering the price.

I have been to this resort many times in the past. I was very disappointed this time. I preface this statement by saying that I adore Mexican people, but the resort was totally centred around the Mexican guests. The trivia contests were all Mexican, the shows were predominantly spoken in Mexican, and I feel that that should’ve been more English as this is advertised in North America as a holiday result for Canadians. Had a warning been given we could have made arrangements to go outside of the resort and escape the noise , my friend and roommate had been sick that day, and the music annoys went on until the early hours of the morning. We were not the only ones upset by this. They had a Mexican night, but it was nothing like the Mexican nights in the past, and as for the food, it was terrible , my last night dinner consisted of a plate of carrots! Two of my friends became sick from the food eaten at the resort. I am sorry to have to write this as I have always been in favour of the royal Decameron. The WestJet representative was there for one day only , apparently there’s a takeover going on, and the WestJet employees have to be retrained

I found the complex catered to the Spainish speaking customer and as 90% of the people here were from these countries it made scene The food was very much the same every day There were 5 restaurants you could book but it required you to make a reservation by 8am that day

Me and my husband arrived to Royal Decameron complex on October 7/23. Front desk stuff speaks very little of English. The beach was good and buffet stuff was friendly and quick to clean the table.Buffet does not have windows and of course no air conditioning- what h is big minus to the resort. Because of hurricane Lidia that hit resort on Tuesday, the power was off for sort period and generator picked up and we had lights in rooms, hallways , but NO air conditioning, no TV, and interruptions o [... read more]f internet. Air conditioner in my room broke and I reported it to the front desk. Nobody came to check and I’ve been told that nobody’s working only for guests with serious medical conditions. Whenever I asked front stuff at the main reception or Flamingo section reception- nobody knew anything about air conditioning. I reported many times and asked to come and check out my room. Finally Friday evening everyone got their air conditioner working and mine was still NOT working with heat every day of 33-35. Thursday, Friday and all nights - it was nightmare for me. I left on Saturday and still no air conditioning in my room. It was totally ruined vacations and I will never ever go back again.

We have been to The Royal Decameron 5 times and this past experience will not make us go back there again. We have always kept an open mind when travelling to Mexico (ie: food, drinks, cleanliness, pools, spa and service) Royal Decameron was lacking all of these factors! Let’s start with the positives: 1) The transfer from the airport was excellent and very efficient 2) unfortunately that was all the positives. Now let’s get to the “needs improvements”: The food: although we didn’t [... read more] starve the food was less than appetizing. We found ourselves dining at restaurants outside of the resort. The food was “recycled” what the guests didn’t eat for dinner was “recreated” for breakfast, then lunch then round 2 for another dinner. Heaven forbid you wanted to take a pastry out of the restaurant to have with your coffee….the guard at the door quickly reminds you of the strict policy. The drinks: Let’s just say we drank more water than alcohol! The drinks were a) watered down b) inconsistent c) unavailable d) ridiculously sweet or e)all of the above. The service: What service?? At The Royal Decameron you don’t matter. They could take ya or leave ya! Not hospitable, not friendly and definitely not a priority! The cleanliness: The grounds used to be impeccable…not this time! There was garbage, used cups, uncut grass, hundreds of dead bugs and cigarette butts everywhere. Our gecko friends felt free to come and go from our room because there is no seal around the doors. A complete renovation of the furniture, decor, painting and plumbing is recommended before someone gets hurt. Hard beds, and squished pillows made for sleepless nights. The pools: although very warm, they were disgusting! All of them had sludgy water with no sense of urgency to clean them. The spa: the massage itself was actually quite nice but they were not set up to let us use the amenities. The “waterfall” was not turned on, the sauna was cold and there was more humidity outside than in the steam room. Like I said, we are pretty easy going travellers and we have never wanted to leave a resort so bad as we did during our recent stay at The Royal Decameron. The sad part is, with the price of travelling these days we paid more then we ever had to stay there. LESSON LEARNED! Such a shame!!

The hotel property was well thought of with the beach in sections with its own pillars was quite awesome, the bungalow LOVE IT with that being said i was somehow disappointed with the food selection snd the taste was a hit or missed , there were no towels both beach and room the ones you get was old i mean bleach wash out the dinning staff was horrible they see color but thr drinks and bartendes were great, i mean if i cant find anywhere to stay in Jamaica i would go back there but just to sta [... read more]y nothing else

Grand Decameron Cornwall Beach: 3.5 stars

This resort is located in the central area of Montego Bay. The location is wonderful, close proximity to the strip & airport. However this hotel could do better, especially in relation to the food. I found the buffet constantly empty and the food wasn’t being replaced (at one point 8 buffet tray warmers were empty by 9am and not replaced before breakfast closed at 10:30). Grand Decameron Cornwall Beach: 4 Nights Only

My husband and I stayed for our anniversary June 7-11 and enjoyed our stay. We booked this hotel because of how close it was to the airport and the very reasonable price point. We had read all reviews before arriving, which helped with our expectations. So, to be proactive, we took our own beach towels and sundries but didn't need them. Food was good (be sure to arrive to the dining room on time) but choices were limited. Coffee bar was great! Rooms were very clean and maintained d [... read more]aily but they do not offer a daily towel change, so be aware and plan accordingly. All staff was great and helpful BUT this is not a resort. It is more a hotel which offers some resort like activities. We enjoyed our four day getaway but I don't know that we would return. Simply because we didn't feel safe walking the hip strip and you are limited to the walking you can do on the property.

Nice property , friendly staff and good food. Nice place too relax and enjoy the beach, sun and food.. The service and the restaurants and bar is great. 10 out of 10 I would go back to this property for sure. I would rate this property 8 out of 10..

Grand Decameron Cornwall Beach: Worth the money

Smaller hotel with comfortable bed and clean room which look out to the beautiful sea and sunsets. The sea water was clear, calm and warm and we were able to see lots of fishes when snorkelling without having to swim out far. Some beach areas were deeper and others were more shallow which is good for children or non swimmers. The air conditioner, safe, hair dryer, fridge all worked well. Some servers were very friendly and others were not but they were all working hard trying to keep up. Looks like they could use more staff in the buffets. Did not have to wait long at the bars to be served and many good drinks like mango daiquiri. Nice to be able to use the facilities on both the Cornwall and Montego side. Went shopping on the street and was able to get t-shirts and souvenirs cheaper than the stores in the hotel. Appropriate for all age groups. Some evenings we needed to use mosquito repellent as there were some rainy days.

food quality was ok but selection was not very good 😕 the rooms were clean and nice and the maid staff was amazing! pretty hotel but need to spray the smoke stuff to control the mosquitoes, there was alot of mosquitoes and very uncomfortable 😐 dining staff was ok but never came back to check on us for more drinks during meals especially in the morning 🌄 the bar staff was awesome and the entertainment staff were very good 👍 over all it was an ok trip ... would I stay there again 🤠[... read more]” NOPE!!

Decameron Los Cocos Guayabitos Ramada: A good resort.

Good clean resort. Some buildings are older and some newer. Food isn't the best but it's ok. A la cartes are better. Four pools to choose from including an adult only pool. It is right on the beach and the ocean is fantastic to swim in. Mostly attended by Mexican families when we went in May. A lot of Canadians come here in late and earlier in the year. More restaurants bars etc. are open during this time of year. We have been here five times now and look forward to returning again.

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Spring vacation

I was pleasantly surprised choosing this resort. The grounds are spacious with 5 pools plus plenty of room at the beach. You could easily get a lounge chair. The surface around the pools were pressure washed nightly and the washrooms were very clean. The food was good at the buffet and the restaurants were very good. We dined at 3 restaurants and ate most meals at the buffet. I liked having the option to get a drink in the evenings overlooking the ocean at 3 different bars. They had live bands [... read more] playing quite a few evenings near the lobby. The staff were always cheerful and very respectful. We stayed for 2 weeks. It was nice to walk into Bucerias market. We walked 3 times and rode the bikes once. The Royal Decameron is very well organized and clean. I look forward to returning again!

Grand Decameron Cornwall Beach: Great Resort - Highly Recommend

Hotel was a great all inclusive Resort. Although I made sure I was first in line for every meal, the food was excellent. Ala Carts were delicious as well. Coffee shop should open earlier for us that are early risers, lol. Hotel staff were all friendly, easy to talk to and very helpful. Room was great. Cleaners were in every day cleaning and fridge was replenished with beer, pop and water. As per all reviews, if you want a beach lounge chair should be there by 8 AM. Beach was not the best. Taxi for 2 kms - 20 US so they all try to scam you. If you can put up with the locals on the street trying to sell smoke it is wonderful to walk all the way down town City Center for some history and actual locals in the market. Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Family friendly resort

Great beach location. We had an oceanfront room, which was well worth the upgrade. Friendly staff, and the facilities and grounds were well kept. Horseback riding available all day on the beach, which was enjoyed by many. Take your pick with a choice of massages all along the beach. Borrow a bike for a quick ride into town. The 15 minute walk was also enjoyable for fresh oysters and ceviche. All in all this is a nice family resort.

We go back to this resort because we like the layout of the grounds, it's spread out nicely rather than being a massive concrete building. The grounds are nicely kept with lots of palm trees! This is our 5th time back. Although we love it, our arrival to our room was a HUGE disappointment to say the least. Upon entering the room I noticed a very large fresh blood stain on the settee cover in the room. I then started to check the room more closely and found lots of little clear elastics all over [... read more] the floor, garbage, sand , dust bunnies and a pair of earrings behind the nightstand. There were no facecloths and only 1 handtowel in the bathroom, the toilet had not been cleaned and the baseboards were filthy! We had no hangers in the closet. I'm not a person who needs a fancy room but it needs to be clean and this room was not. I didn't smell any chemicals. I went to the front desk to have someone come to fix it which they did, and this time I could smell the chemicals and it was clean. We also emailed the resort a couple of weeks before arriving asking to NOT have a room with a connecting door, well, our room had a connecting door and we were kept awake 3 nights with a family next door to us.

Grand Decameron Panama: Great vacation stay

We spent a week at the Royal Decameron at the end of April 2023 and had an amazing stay. Check in/out was a breeze and booking excursions was really easy. I would highly recommend the tour of Panama City and the Panama Canal if you have never been before. Food wise, the buffets were really good, the restaurants were great. We upgraded to an Ocean View room and I would highly recommend booking that if you can. On the topic of rooms, the rooms are a bit dated. That said, the bed was comfortable and the A/C worked fine. Honestly if you are going on vacation to spend time in your room, what is the point? The beaches are great for long walks and the sunrise is worth getting up for. The surf can be heavy, so pools are probably a better choice if you are travelling with small children or are not comfortable in the ocean. There is a small island off the shore from the resort. We took a really fun snorkeling tour of the island with Farallon Adventures. Walk down the beach past Casa Gresca and look for a blue and white sign in the beach or call them at 507 6645-6690. The thing we found most amazing about the resort was the staff. Everyone was super friendly and outgoing from the front desk to the gardeners. The animation staff were a treat to interact with. Edwin, Robert, Xamaira, Alex, Dianallyz, Jorge and everybody else really helped make our stay a ton of fun. My girlfriend loves going to the shows and doing poolside activities. I prefer spending time at the beach or in the ocean. That said, I found the staff engaging enough that I was participating in the poolside activities and enjoyed the shows as well. The dancing in the shows was top notch and the staff really put their hearts into it. It really felt like everybody there took pride in their jobs and put a lot of effort in to everything they did. This was my first visit to Panama and I would happily go back to the country and to the Royal Decameron.

A lot of people with kids. No fridge in room. Internet only in lobby and sometimes other close locations. Food is OK but only in central buffet little better - people after couple days lined up to enter there. Japanese restaurant not good. Tai and Brazilian very good. Tours through nearest tour guy(on front of resort) not healthy . Girl told me do not take some sea tour because of food and transportation poor. Also mosquitos in mountains.
