Club Kawama: Nice cozy resort with a character
I returned to Kawama after three months and I dont regret it. The beach is great, the ocean clean and warm, people working there are very nice, hard working, polite and accomodating to your needs. I feel home there. I cant complain about the food either. A lot of variety, the grill is a blessing fir omelettes in the morning and all kinds if grilled meats lunch and dinner. Lots of fruits and smothies for breakfast and also fresh fruit juices for breakfast only. Fill a thermos if you want ecial di [... read more]
Club Kawama: Amazing as always
This is our 7th trip to club Kawama... there was a time it was starting to seem a bit bad but it has taken a complete turn again for the better and reminded us why we fell in love with this place on the first trip. Staff is friendly and caring. Food is good and fresh and beach in the most beautiful
Hotel Villa Cuba: Great vacation overall!
We had a great vacation, but first night we were put in the villas, although we had bought the normal hotel rooms. All the villas we saw were old, dated and grim looking. Next day we were given a nice main hotel room. Food is OK, but not great. Beach is awesome. Hotel is close to Varadero town. Recommend a trip to Calle 62 club.
Starfish Cayo Guillermo: Beautiful beach
Would not rate this as a 3 Star resort. We understood there was an ownership change at the beginning of the year so hoped they would be on their game. Very tired looking rooms and lobby/restaurant. We called it the “line up “ hotel. You lined up and waited a long time for food and had to wait when they ran out of plates and glasses ( an everyday occurrence). Over 300 rooms and only one machine for coffee. I waited over 20 minutes on more than one occasion for a single coffee. Wine was only a [... read more]
Roc Barlovento: Very quiet resort
Food was mediocre, beef was tough, pork under cooked. No 24 hour snack bar to help with hunger between lunch and dinner. Dinner staff was amazing Pool activities are non existent and not advertised throughout the resort. All activities are designed for adults over 60. Excursions were advertised and described exactly the way they were delivered. Bar was not equipped to handle volume of cocktails, always running out of key ingredients. Grounds were not kept clean for the next morning
Club Kawama: Amazing Trip
My husband, a couple of friends and myself go to Varadero Cuba every year for the past 5 years. We stay at Club Kawama it’s a 3 1/2 star resort but close to town so easy to tour by foot. Every year we find or do something new and meet with old friends we’ve met or make new ones. In the past 5 years we have done the Jeep tour, skidoo’s, Bettles bar, we found a local bar that was amazing but was closed this year. Found a place 2 years ago that had amazing cheap food but was lost to a hu [... read more]
Starfish Cayo Guillermo: Beautiful place
The resort was very beautiful nice beach but not good for swimming as it was to shallow, the service was not great the food was crap and there were always long lineups, they didn’t serve drinks after 2 am even tho it says 24 out of 24 hours couldn’t even get a bottle of water, the rooms were really nice but my toilet did not work and I asked them 3 times to fix it but no one showed up to fix it. I do not regret going there, it was still a great time!
Starfish Cayo Largo: Hotel Pelicano Cayo Largo Cuba... Another great trip to 🇨🇺
Another great vacation. Hotel pelicamo is a beautiful resort . Rooms are super clean staff is wonderful. Food was good. Loved the bbq and pizza. Pool was lovely entertainment staff are so friendly we have made some new friends or Cuban familt. Until we meet again. Miss you all already.
Starfish Cayo Guillermo: Happy Get Away Place
Overall, i thoroughly enjoyed my time at this resort. I especially loved the bungalow style as opposed to typical hotel /resort style. My only downsides were the air conditioning in the bungalow didn't work and no one came to fix it during the week i was there despite 3 phone calls as well as there being a fridge in the room but neither did it work . all in all , minor inconveniences except for the air conditioning. opened the patio door for a nice breeze but then the cats came in.
Club Kawama: Nice place but bad ending
This is and good hotel with a nice amenities and services, but the responsible for the group (Hola sun) was available only for the first short meeting and last day we were waiting for the bus to return to the airport. It was supposed that the bus will pick up us at 5:10 (according to their information), we were at that time 5:10 (as the employees in reception can testify) but nobody pick up us., The stress was awful. We try to contact the responsible but was not easy, 3 times we talked [... read more]
Roc Barlovento: It was an amazing resort

Roc Barlovento: Resort
The resort is very nice , lovely people, it seems it has changed hands to a new manager. Clean , but we had no hot water for showers, at all. We complained every day and nothing was done about it . Our stay was awesome , if not for poor water conditions . I do not think we will go there next year . We have been going to the same resort for 5 yrs Thank you , Kim King
Starfish Cayo Guillermo: it is fair hotel
1- the hotel is small 2- room is good, but the shower was not because the drain was very slow and was flood every time when you take a shower 3- the view was very nice on the beech. 4- public area was very small 5- dining area was small as well. 6- very simple theater 7- the gym was so bad( from all the machines only 2 was working, the room, shower toilet were very dirty and not usable as well as the sauna was not working. it dose not look like a gym at all.same think for gun shoot area [... read more]
Starfish Cayo Largo: Great resort
I love this resort but there is a major mosquito problem in lower rooms as well as evenings around bar. I would suggest that they dry up the water closets beside the rooms. I would open them to allow them to dry. They are a mosquito magnet. The beach needs to be cleaned up.
Club Kawama: Nice vacation
Location is good. Rooms okay. No hot water for showers. Food was what we expected for Cuba. Nice restaurants near by if you don’t want to eat at the buffet. Beach is beautiful. Bring bug repellent if you are prone to bug bites. Sand fleas attack. Always umbrellas and chairs on beach. Overall we had a good vacation. Good value for money we paid.
Starfish Cayo Largo: There's just something about this place!
We've been here too many times now to recall the actual number. It's true that the infrastructure is ancient, sometimes there's no hot water, the food selection is limited, they run out of stuff rotationally . . . yes even beer or red wine. But we still go back; the rooms are tired but kept really clean. Food selection is sometimes limited but usually cooked very well. There are a lot of repeat guests because the staff are amazing. This creates a real sense of community and belonging. And t [... read more]
Hotel Villa Cuba: Good value
Be Live Experience Varadero was a nice hotel with decent food options. The pools were nice and there was no issue with getting chairs. The beach was gorgeous and activities were fun. Beds were comfortable and everything was clean. Our only issue was that cigarette smoke kept coming into our room through the bathroom vent. Overall, we really enjoyed our two weeks at this resort and would go again.
Club Kawama: A very special resort
If your looking for opulence, fancy food, and entertainment, then keep looking. But if you’re looking for clean, friendly, fantastic location, great price, small village feel, good food, then this is your resort. I can understand why people go back multiple times. We really enjoyed our stay and the staff were superb!
Starfish Cayo Largo: good resort for the money
been several times to pelicano. Aways a good time. No crystal(cuban beer) but Sol(mexican) a good substitute. Staff is friendly. Like walking from one resort to another to check progress each time we come. Ask other tourists how they like resort and most due and would come back if it's their first time.
Starfish Cayo Largo: meh
the geography is stunningly beautiful. the beaches are nothing short of amazing. highly recommend renting an ATV or scooter and exploring the area. ocean is magnificent and lots of wildlife to see in the water a safe distance from the beach. the resort is tired, dated and weak. the only pool is very old and has a liner that is ripped in more places than one could count. in the places where it is ripped, behind the liner, lots of green mystery goo. no central bar or meeting place, not mu [... read more]
