Iberostar Coral Ensenachos: May 2025 Stay. 2 weeks

!This was our second stray at the Coral, last was late May early June 2024 first visit since Covid. We use to stay on the, then called Spar section, which was adults only, for 25 total visits The resort is showing its age but renovations are under way on selection side, slow and steady. ' We found the Coral section accommodation excellent, comfortable and roomy. with hot tub which was clean and heated. Service was great and Butlers and all staff very considerate and helpful to us, same as [... read more] other vacationers staying at the resort - I have Parkinson’s and use a wheeled walker and walking stick. . Any problems you inform the butlers, We had a noisy ceiling fan in bedroom when we arrived, and it was repaired the next morning. The food was good and plenty full, some limited shortages but nothing you couldn’t miss. You don’t go to: Cuba for the food, it’s good though. And we gain weight on our stays. The beaches are second too none with many palapa’s, one for every room on Coral section. The Coral is very quiet and relaxing just as we like it, no children under 14. The main entertainment is on the Selection side, shuttle service via mini bus, max wait 10min. Coral vacationers have complete access to all facilities on the selection side. Overall - great resort, that we call our second home, we will be back to the Coral, health dependant, to savour the friendliness all the staff, beaches, weather .and other vacationers you meet.

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Great beach - Dated Resort

The resort is huge to begin with and has two beaches - Megano and Ensenachos; both which were some of the most beautiful beaches I’ve ever seen. We regularly saw thousands of fish, stingrays and even starfish - just beautiful. The beaches were very quiet and felt like we had lots of privacy and spaces from others - perfect for relaxing. First of all, we saw two small cockroaches in the room and lots of small ants near the toilet. Secondly. The toilet did not work. We regularly had to play around with the pipe to get it to flush and this was quite troubling since we got food posinoning. Besides that the room had a great balcony with lots of room to unwind and relax. For the food; the three “a la carte” restaurants were closed for renovations so we had to choose between the snack bar and main buffet. The main buffet regularly had lots to choose from with different options each day - it was indoors and felt very clean. The snack bar….. not so much. The night we got there we saw a giant cockroach hanging around the kitchen and the staff didn’t do anything. There were regularly birds flying in or around the food and thousands of flies. So would recommend the main buffet over the snack bar. As for the service - all of the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I had amazing experiences with all of the staff around the resort and the night time shows were extremely entertaining. Nonetheless, we had a great trip here to Cayo Ensenachos and will never forget how beautiful the beaches here are.

Iberostar Origin Bella Vista Varadero: Amazing vacation

We love Iberostar Cuba This time we went together with our friends 8 people, and everyone loved. Isabella from customer service was very nice and helpful. The room was nice and clean , people were friendly and welcoming . Food was good except in the specialty restaurants. I don’t recommend to go to a restaurants.. But altogether we had a good time and planning to go again in December.

Iberostar Origin Bella Vista Varadero: Amazing people, country,resort

The resort is very well run by talented caring staff who really enjoy their job. The rooms were clean with an eye to detail. The food was very good. The swim out pool was huge and very clean. The bars were well stocked. They occasionally ran out of vodka and mixes but were usually replenished the next day. My only complaint is the inconsiderate guests who throw cigarettes off their balconies to the ground and patios below, and think nothing of walking across other patios to get to their o [... read more]wn. The swim out pool is for adults only, but parents seem to think if they are with them their children can use it. I have a great stay and hope to return in the fall. A special thank you to Diana the Concierge and Dihana( sorry if I spelled it wrong) the bartender in the Privilege lounge on the 11th floor. You each made my stay very special with your kindness and professional service.

Iberostar Selection Bavaro Suites: Best family vacation

Stayed for 11 days and 10 nights with kids aged 4 and 7. We travel to the Dominican every year and try different resorts. THIS WAS OUR BEST FAMILY TRIP. The resort is very, very clean, food is consistently good, everything is in walking distance, pool has gradual entry which is great for the kids, splash area was fun for big kids- the toddler area one didnt ever turn on though, beach is clean but a little rocky to walk into the water(coral). First off its very well organized with secure processes to check in and out your children via the app and QR codes, SOOO many activities for the kids across the resort, with option to live track location via whatsapp . Staff are wonderful with the kids. Inside the actual star camp building there is a full play place structure, trampoline park, cooking station and movie station. At night the staff make sure all the kids are part of the show- putting them into costumes and including them.

Iberostar Waves Paraiso del Mar: Another amazing vacation!!!

Iberostar Paraiso never disappoints. My 21st trip and this trip was no different. Love the lush tropical location, amazing staff and great food. Perfect for a single, couples or families. Been coming for 15 years.

Iberostar Selection Esmeralda: Really needs fixed up.

Resort in need of LOTS of maintenance. Rodents in rooms, broken plumbing everywhere. Safe in my room didn't work (which I reported twice). Towels in rooms never laundered. Dont know if understaffed, but nothing really got fixed in the week I stayed. Food was meh, so was the booze. The simplest cocktails only. Not even a Mojito some days. The pool was nice when clean. Beach was pretty.

Iberostar Selection Paraiso Lindo: Great resort for families!

We had a great time at the Lindo. The resort is massive and contains many pools, restaurants, and things to do. The pools are awesome. There is a wave pool, a lazy river, and water park and slides. We found the ocean to be rough and did not swim in it, but we enjoyed walking on the beach and sand. The food was very good as well. We would return!

Iberostar Coral Esmeralda: Amazing Resort

The facility is well kept and maintained even though it’s not high season the staff were consistent with the up keep. I love how they have both hot and cold water and no issue with adjusting the AC from hot to cold or vice versa. I would stay on the same room again I love how I’m in the corner. I also enjoyed my dining experience. Their buffet area is enclosed which is perfect from keeping the flies and stray cats out. The hostess, bar tender are all professional and courteous.

Very clean resort, very family oriented, an amazing kids club. The food was absolutely amazing, not only at the buffet, but also at all the ala cartes. All the staff were very friendly and very accommodating

Iberostar Coral Esmeralda: Great vacation in Cayo Cruz

My wife and I visited Iberostar Esmeralda Coral and loved it. Everything was great and exceeded my expectations. Food was very good service was excellent and the people made you feel welcome to be there . We enjoyed the vibe of the smaller Adult side Coral and the swim out we had. The beach was amazing as it was a while since I’ve been to Cuba and it is their best asset . I would definitely return to this resort and recommend

JOIA Bavaro by Iberostar: Outstanding resort

This was by far the nicest resort we have stayed in out of the 30+ so far. Top shelf liquor, excellent meals, beautiful grounds. The butler was so helpful…shout out to Cofè! We recommend this for couples looking for quiet atmosphere!

Iberostar Origin Tainos: Amazing Beaches.

Arrived at the hotel, friendly greetings from everyone, and was happy with the Lobby Renovations that were ongoing. Headed to the beach and was amazed at the beaches. Fast forward had a great stay, great day trip to Havana. Food was ok but we were there for a relaxing time. Evening singers were great and the shows were decent. My/our biggest complaint involves a staff member that i am assuming is from Head Oofice for Iberostar. His name was Daniel and he was in charge of the Wine Tasting On Tu [... read more]esday May 13th. We were sitting near the back and when it all started we along with a few other tables never received any wine. We mentioned it to him and some of the missing tables got it but not ours. Fast forward to the evening event which was a tasting event for Mojhitos. He was there and we approached him and told him we were not very impressed with Wine tasting in the morning and the way it was run, and his response was oh what a shame with sarcastic tone and then I witnessed him talking to a friend I assume and rolled his eyes and pointed at us and they both laughed. Anyways that was the worst part of the trip and we both just found him very arrogant and it was all about him. So it won't spoil things for us but found him a little much.

We stayed at the is resort at the beginning of May 2025, the resort is beautiful but a little dated. Everything is clean and well maintained. All the employees work very try hard. Cuba as a country is in crisis and everyone is doing their best with what they have. When you arrive you will likely experience culture shock to some extent. Beach, ocean: The beach is beautiful, stunning, breathtaking. The white sand is soft, water sparkles in different shades of blue. Lots of fish and ocean [... read more] life accessible right from the beach, various sizes of alive conch. There is a shipwreck you can walk to. Lots of fish and coral by the rocks at Ensenachos beach. Take the catamaran from the small resort marina out into the reef for an hour of snorkeling, lots of live coral, starfish, sea urchins, colourful fish, turtles. The marina staff is super nice as well. Rooms, facilities: Everything is clean but dated, ac is in each room but might not be strong enough depending on individual preferences. Linen and towels were clean. Bathroom has a tub and shower. Expect some critters in your room (we had a gecko). Each room has a balcony. Daily cleaning service is very very good. Our bungalow was in the perfect location with a short walk to the beach, pool and kids water park, snack bar and swim up bar. Some shuttle service is available between the lobby, marina and big restaurant but we mostly walked. The grounds are beautiful and very well maintained. The pool is clean. The kids water park is small and not all features are working but my kids had a great time. The kids club has limited hours and offers some activities and programs (I.e. mini chefs, yoga on the beach). There is a playground as well. There is lots of wildlife to see around the resort. Lizards, geckos, birds, crabs, hermit crabs, cats and kittens. Food: There is plenty of food available but most of the food is Cuban. We were very cautious with what we ate (hot food (rice, beans, some meats, some veggies), food fresh off the grill (omelette, chicken, fish, Cuban style pizza), freshly cut fruit (the mangoes are delicious) and pastries (muffins, cookies, small croissants)). Salt is available but you may want to bring ketchup and jam etc. We had some minor stomach troubles and most of the other travellers we spoke to had some sort of stomach troubles during their stay. Definitely bring gravol and pack lots of snacks if you are travelling with kids. You are not going to Cuba for the food. There is a 24 hr snack bar that also serves breakfast and lunch buffet style and is used as one of the restaurants for dinner. Lunch is served at the beach bar and was always fresh and hot. The large restaurant offers buffet for breakfast (lots of options), lunch and dinner. We did not eat at any of the restaurants, only buffet. There are flies at the buffet / restaurant. Also sometimes there are small biting insects in the evenings (bring big spray and afterbite). Drinks / water: You get 2 purified water bottles to your room each day (reusable glass bottles). This water felt safe to drink. Cold and hot drinks are available throughout the day, we were a little cautious of ice cubes. My kids loved the frozen lemonade. Welcome drinks are available at the evening buffet. Try to stay hydrated as much as you can. Cuban and British alcohol is available, I do not drink so don’t know the quality of the alcoholic drinks. Entertainment: The Michael Jackson show is a highlight, don't miss it. Theresa white party by the pool was the next most popular. Each night has an interactive kids show, the performers do their best to include everyone. Shows in the theatre feature different themes daily and performers are excellent and work very hard. Various entertainment throughout the day at the beach, the pool and the lobby. Things to keep in mind: Cubans are struggling, they have very little and live in conditions we cannot imagine. Anything you can bring for them (clothing, medical supplies etc.) is much appreciated. Tip if you can (USD or Canadian bills are preferred). Cubans make a basic salary, the tips really help them. Cubans work 6 out of 7 days and we saw many employees start work at 10am and work past midnight. Many depend on public transit and it takes them between 1 and 1.5 hours each way to get to and from work. Almost everyone speaks some English but it is nice to know some basics in Spanish. You can also download an offline translation app. We really enjoyed our stay ?☀️

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Great vacation

Beautiful resort. A bit dated but clean. Staff were very engaging and friendly. Pools were great but not a lot of chairs at any of the three pools. Beach was always help clean and lots of chairs. Elevators were iffy. Only one of each set worked however the one that did work sometimes would not show up when the button was pressed. We had to walk the four flight of stairs to our room a lot. The food was terrible. No salt, pepper or ketchup same thing for lunch and supper everyday. We had to go to [... read more] town to get food twice as we were tired of trying to find something to eat. Thankfully we brought snacks with us. Birds were flying all around the food and nibbling on it. This was very gross. This was my first time to Cuba so maybe all resorts are like this with food. This is the only reason I wouldn’t recommend it.

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: True paradise

Amazing resort with so much elegance and class. It is an older resort but very charming. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by very professional and friendly Sesia , front desk conciege. We were upgraded to ocean view room, which was amazing. Room are very spacious and bright, cleaned daily . Everything worked in our room. We had hot water and electricity without any interruption. People in the buffet were exceptional and friendly. Everyone was wonderful, but exceptional were Jaima, Mayra and Jamile , cleaning Lady in the buffet . Workers on the beach were also wonderful. Every worker was exceptional and worked so hard to make our stay pleasant. We had an abundance of delicious food..everything was fresh and tasty.. there was a lot of see food, I personally don't eat see food, but saw many people enjoying it. Entertainment personal worked very hard daily . It was a pleasure to meet Osmani. Beaches are absolutely mesmerizing..True paradise..no seaweeds, just crystal clear water . You simply enjoy and relax. Absolutely amazing place. Would highly recommend it and definitely will be back

Iberostar Waves Rose Hall Beach: Grat time at Iberostar

This is my third time at this resort. It was a good experience, food was good as always , great selection. Beach is great, for swiming and enjoying water.Some changes I noticed since my last visit pre-pandemic : no tablecloths in buffet dining room , no straws in resort , not even paper ones, not great service at restaurants.
