Wyndham Alltra Playa del Carmen: Your home away from home!

Spent 10 days at Panama Jack Resort Playa del Carmen and wish we would have booked longer. From the moment we arrived everyone welcomed us like we were family. Dreams Rose Hall: Another great holiday at this resort!

Great hotel with lovely grounds and amazing facilities. Food in all restaurants top quality but we especially love the golf club restaurant. Staff are so accommodating and friendly. Arlene in the golf club restaurant is such an asset to the resort. Thanks! We will be back!

Hyatt Vivid Playa Del Carmen: Wonderful with Something for Everyone

The hotel is, in a word, beautiful. A grand entrance opens up to a modern and efficient lobby and then an expansive lounge, surrounded by shops, cafes and a bar. A highlight, the Aroma Cafe where you can get a cappuccino or a gelato. This is where your nightly entertainment will occur - with plenty of seating, attentive service and an open airy breeze. The room was large, clean and well appointed with everything you need and more. This includes a well stocked mini fridge, Crabtree and Evelyn bath products, and turn down service. But let’s talk about the Magic Box. AKA room service but without the interaction. You can order from an in room tablet and your food and/or drink is delivered to a “dumbwaiter” you access in your room. This is how we enjoyed our breakfasts most days and it was marvellous! The grounds are stunning, well kept without question, but I think the nicest detail is there is a little bit of everything. Garden, beach, pool, spa, terrace, tennis, gym, dive pool, etc. Everything/everywhere was immaculate. We preferred what we called the tranquil pool but the main pool was hoppin’. Lots of fun and frivolity, a good time had by all! The restaurants were delightful and elevated, even the laid back beachfront patios. Stand outs include Pelicanos for lunch and Maria Marie for dinner.

Sanctuary Cap Cana Luxury Collection Adults Resort: Beautiful Resort

We are so thankful we stayed at Sanctuary Cap Cana. The resort was filled with beauty! They accommodated our requests most of the time and helped us with every detail. The food was excellent, the rooms were huge and comfortable. We had an amazing view of the ocean. Thank you.

Hyatt Vivid Playa Del Carmen: Exceptional Resort

This Resort was top notch. From the service, beautiful rooms and grounds this Resort exceeded our expectations. The restaurants were wonderful and the staff were exceptional. Best coffee and ice cream shop. It was just the right size not too big and not too small. If you are looking for relaxation and pampering this is the place to go!

Jewel Runaway Bay Resort: Tripcentral missed the mark

Issues with Tripcentral: --------------------- We contacted Wendy as we had booked with her in the past as she had booked us exactly what we were looking for. This time around, we said money was not an issue, but book us something for two adults and 10 and 12 year old boys. Something great for kids. She suggested the Jewel Runaway Bay as being the best option and we took her word for it. The room was advertised as a Junior Suite with two beds. My impression was that she must know there  [... read more]is a cot, or being a suite there is a pull out bed or something for the kids. We arrived on site, and the room had two double beds, about three feed apart from on another. The room was very small, and unkempt (burnt out lights, broken tiles, dirty, peeling privacy glass). The bathroom door is a swing glass door that opens to the shower, no way to lock it, and no privacy at all with children. When we saw the room, we emailed Wendy and said there was not enough space for our family, and were told there was nothing she could do and to contact Sunwing directly. We called the 1-800 number, and were told nothing that they could do, but to talk to the hotel. The hotel said cots would not fit in the bedroom, and we couldn't pay for an upgrade because of max capacity. This was quite disheartening on our first night, and I really am surprised by Tripcentrals response, support and overall booking experience given our positive experience in the past. I think this is the part that bothers us the most, is booking through a travel agent, and not being given these kids of "heads up". Why even book through an agent? Review of resort: --------------------- We stayed in JRB from Feb 23rd 2020 to Feb 30th 2020. The first building we were booked in (see above for details) was not maintained and dirty. The subsequent nights we were moved into another room in a different building which was night and day. Much more clean and maintained. Overall, the resort is beautiful but you can clearly see how costs are being cut. We have stayed in many different resorts and this is the first one where many shortcuts are taken in the guise to save money. For example, when you go to the restaurants, you are not served alcohol. You have to walk out of the restaurant and pick up drinks at the bar and bring them back to the restaurants. The buffet it is fairly easy to have wine as long as you ask, but again it takes a good 15-20 mins for a glass after you ask. I recommend that before you go to the restaurant, grab a glass or two and bring it with you, and just accept that this is normal. The food for a 4-star is sub-par. The Japanese restaurant one appetizer is a frozen vegetable spring-roll you buy at the supermarket. Literally one cabbage spring-roll in plumb sauce. At the Platinum restaurant there is a tuna appetizer. They give you three dime sized see through pieces of tuna. Such cost cutting methods it is just unreal. Honestly the restaurants are nothing to rave about, the food is mostly sub-par. You can go down the road and pay for a nice meal at Sharkies. There is no fresh seafood available at all outside of soggy shrimp or really soggy cold smoked salmon. But recall you can't actually give yourself the cold smoked salmon because it's costly, they have it behind the glass and they serve it you. Fruit is mostly melons and pineapple. The fresh fruit juice smoothie stand is a nice option. There is one beer left (not even red stripe) in the fridge at night, and after 2am no alcohol is accessible even though the website advertises 24/7 drinks. Kids functions: --------------------- Advertised laser tag was not available. Kids never went across to the ranch, never was an option given to them. They played capture the flag at night and they loved it. The staff are incredible! The water park is amazing, and makes up for missing amenities. Kids can go up to any of the bars and grab lime juice, smoothies or whatever else. Staff --------------------- The staff make up for the sub-par food and lacking amenities. What an amazing crew they have there. We had an absolute blast getting to know them and hanging out. Made several friends and felt safe letting the kids be independent. Can't say enough about the staff. They addressed our concerns and have welcomed us back next year on them, what incredible people. Tripcentral and Sunwing can really learn from their customer service. We are really looking forward to going back just to see the people again. Also saw the lifeguards save a little boy from drowning. When there are waves, there is a very strong current by the reef so be vigilant. Warning --------------------- Our 10 and 12 year old were diagnosed with hookworm this morning. Please keep an eye on your feet as it is an ongoing issue in many of the reviews here. Started on their feet and on their legs a bit, but because of the reviews we were watching for it.

Hyatt Zilara Cap Cana: Amazing resort

Have been going to the DR for over thirty years and this was the best place we have ever been at. The food was delicious and service by the staff fantastic. The view from our room was fantastic. The bus ride to and from the resort was only ten minutes , the shortest we have experienced to date. No wristbands required and could walk in to any restaurant with out any reservations.

There were 11 of us for my wife’s 60th birthday and we had a party in the Brazilian Steakhouse and the staff was amazing this was our second visit to Panama Jacks in as many years. Truly a delight. Wyndham Alltra Playa del Carmen: Phenomenal Staff

We enjoyed out stay very much. First of all I would like to say we travel quite a bit and have been to over 10 different resorts in Mexico since 1996. The one thing I would like to say about all the staff that work here they are all 10/10. Of all the places i have been too the staff were the best by far, I can not say enough about them. My favorite above all was Oscar Cach one of the waiters in the buffet, he just goes far and above with his amazing service and great sense of humor. The gro [... read more]unds were nice as I prefer the smaller resorts for getting around as I am a paraplegic in a wheelchair so makes it easier on me. The food in the Buffet was very good in fact probably the best we have had in Mexico. I wasn't crazy about the Italian restaurant as the food was bland they didnt even have fresh garlic in the kitchen just garlic oil. that should tell you everything you need to know right there! We tried the Brazilian steak house one night and again it was just ok but that is because i am used to eating the best meat in the world because i live in Alberta, nothing will touch that. We never tried the Mexican food restaurant. The burgers they cook outside in the little food van on the grounds were very good but sometimes the lines up's would get quite long. Now i did ask for an accessible room and Trip central was nice enough to phone and even confirm it which was great as no other company did that for me before as they always say they can not guarantee an accessible room. As for the accessibility of room I felt was not very accessible at all there was just one tiny grab bar beside the toilet that was up high and at an angle so almost useless. There should of been a lot more grab bars around the toilet I am just lucky that i am still strong enough to move my body around and i took things very slow and planned as it was scary. As for the shower it was a true roll in shower no step or bump which was great but the shower hose attached to the head was almost too short. I am just lucky i bring my own shower bench when i travel so was able to park it real close to the controls. But in all fairness to the resort I didn't complain or tell them and investigate further to see if they had better or "real" accessible rooms. They did have a phone by the toilet which is a must so that part was covered. If you like to party a lot you might not want to stay there as they shut their outside bar down at 11 pm every night and their lobby bar at Midnight. But you are right in Playa Del Carmen so you can go off to some bar or lounge if you wanted too but of course you would have to pay for your food and drinks then! Overall i would give the resort a 9 out of 10 at a minimum because everything was almost perfect for the 10 days we spent there. Food, customer service, smaller resort making it more personal. It was definitely one of the best times we have had in Mexico

Wyndham Alltra Playa del Carmen: 2nd year in a row - just as great!

This is our second year in a row going to PJ in Playa Del Carmen and we still love it! The rooms are big and spacious, the beds are so comfy with soft white duvets, the food is amazing and the staff are the best I've had. I've travel extensively throughout the Caribbean and I now consider PJ my go-to resort. The beach is non-existent but once you get over that, the resort is to be completely enjoyed! Last year, I wrote in advance to the resort and told them of my husband's inability to walk far and they gave us a room right beside the lobby. Wow! This year, they once again gave us one of the designated handicapped rooms at the lobby and it was so appreciated. Everyone worked so hard to make our trip memorable. From Natalie Collura at TripCentral who arranged wheelchairs at both airports, to Luis Nunez at the front desk at Panama Jacks to Julio who got my husband drinks all day at the pool, let me just tell you how grateful we are for all your efforts. This is a friendly, family oriented resort that goes overboard every day to make their guests welcome. I have no complaints whatsoever about this resort.

Hyatt Zilara Cap Cana: Loved It.

The hotel was everything I expected from a 5star rated hotel. Room, hotel landscaping, beach, food and staff were excellent. The beach has the white sand and palm trees that we like and the water was warm and safe even for non swimmers. The food throughout the hotel was great and we especially liked the salmon and tuna meals at the Waves restaurant. Will certainly return.

The resort is fantastic. From the moment you enter the lobby to check in you notice that the Resort is clean and well maintained The rooms are spacious and well appointed and clean. All staff have a great attitude and seem to love to come to work. The Entertainment Staff Celia,Sergio and Mr Mike made the day awesome and the shows on the outside stage Fabulous.

The service was great the food was good the three restaurants were good and the buffet was nice good selection of food the staff is very pleasant throughout the resort. Just wish the shows were at 9pm only seen one because we had dinner at 7:30- 8 every night and the shows started at 8pm. Wyndham Alltra Playa del Carmen: Good resort

The food is good and the location is great it has everything within walking distance There’s not much in the way of entertainment at night it starts when your having dinner and finishes pretty early. It’s far to expensive when you have to pay the single supplement which will definitely stop me from coming again.

Wyndham Alltra Playa del Carmen: Amazing activities and Great Location

Our family had a wonderful vacation. We enjoyed all the restaurants and the entertainment was fantastic. We enjoyed sitting outside of our rooms at night and talking. We created wonderful family memories. There is something for everyone. The walk along 5th Avenue is exciting and there are wonderful items to purchase. Our spa experience was amazing.

Hyatt Ziva Rose Hall: Incredible Resort Experience!

This is a gorgeous resort with beautiful grounds, lovely pools, a beach protected by a rock barrier, and wonderful food. It is truly a special all-inclusive experience. Dietary needs are accommodated, the staff are all highly professional and kind, and the entertainment is also great.

Hyatt Vivid Playa Del Carmen: Perfect For a Quick Break

The Hilton Playa Del Carmen was great for a 5 day getaway. The rooms are spacious, the food delicious, and the staff helpful. The main lobby is a stunning place to arrive to. Some things to keep in mind: there is daytime entertainment at the main pool (close to the ocean) and there will likely be weddings at the gazebo, again close to the ocean. This means rooms close to these spots will be noisy. At the back of the hotel, you'll be on the town side where you will hear the music from the bars u [... read more]ntil about 2 or 3am. The key to quiet is the middle of the hotel away from the main pool. The beach at the resort is public: there are people selling bags, hats, shows, mango, etc and then hotel staff are selling spa treatments. A polite "no thanks" is sufficient if you're not interested. Cabanas are usually 'claimed' by 10am. The waves are often quite strong here and there are rocks on the sea floor for much of the Hilton's space. A few steps to the left gets you to the sandy sea floor. The ferry to Cozumel is on the right of the beachfront but caused no issues (no horns or diesel smell). There is daytime entertainment that seems directed at a somewhat younger audience than the average age. Nighttime shows are a little more Vegas-y. We were always able to walk into a restaurant - no reservations or waiting required. The WestJet Vacations transfer had the Hilton as the last stop of 4 which meant with a 1:45pm arrival in Cancun, we didn't get to the hotel till 5:30pm. On the way back to Cancun, we were the 1st of 2 pickups, so it was much faster.

Hyatt Vivid Playa Del Carmen: Impressed with resort

My wife and I have been to Playa Del Carmen (PDC) a number of times and always had a great time. This trip with our stay at the Hilton in PDC made this visit the best yet. The location, the rooms, the staff, the food, was all great. The only concern I had was the lack luster day time entertainment and the daily 430 bingo that I am sure was designed to shut down the days activities, with boredom. I would recommend this resort.

Sunscape Cancun Resort and Spa: Wonderful Family Resort

We stayed at the Panama Jack Cancun hotel in early February 2020. I was celebrating a milestone birthday and they had decorated the room beautifully and left cake and chocolates. This is a smaller resort than we have been to before but they still had plenty to do through your the day. There are 2 buffet restaurants and 3 sit down restaurant one Italian and a Mexican and a casual healthy restaurant. I think that they could improve my rating of the hotel by taking reservations. I would have liked to eat more at the restaurants but my kids are generally impatient and liked to options that the buffets offered. The buffet were rotated for an Asian options and then some kids of grill style. I would have liked to see more Mexican tacos available for every meal as I love them and could eat them all the time. My favourite part of the whole resort was the coffee shop which was always stocked with fresh baked goods and cookies and you could get a expresso or latte. My kids loved the chocolate cookies and the iced coffees. The staff at the coffee shop were lovely. We thought Luis at the coffee shop was fabulous. The beach was amazing and it was super fun to play in the waves and boogie board. The kids loved the waterslides and pool. Adults were not allowed on the waterslides which is unfortunate as I like a fun waterslide! My kids 9 and 11 yrs old were not into the kids club and felt it was too babyish for them. They have the hash tag for 13 yr olds and up. I think this would be a great place for kids 10 and up as the teens were not into going to it so the facility is virtually empty. Some of the staff were super rigid about the age of restriction of the kids. We had to asked for special permission from the manager for our kids to use the hashtag and once they had permission my kids would hang out there every day. It’s a beautiful room and it is a shame that it is not being used by the older kids. I believe they need to lower the age limit as the kids club doesn’t appeal to the kids under 8 yrs old. They need something for the tweens. They had some great shows in the evenings at 8 pm. I would highly recommend the fire show on the beach and the forest circus, and the magic show with the dinner. The Latin and Mexican dancing was great too but didn't Interest my tween boys. The lounge bar has some great bands as well. There is no disco at the resort. We really enjoyed our stay and I would recommend it ! Wish I was back there now !!
