Very good hotel

Hi , we like to inform you the hotel its very good, location, pool ,and food are . one thing our room smell musty very strong specials over night i talk to the from desk and they just spray something every where in the room .because we were close to my sisters room we didn't said anything .

Simple and quaint some flaws with locals

Beach beautiful; can snorkel right off beach; need water shoes due to sea urchins; 1 buffet; 3 a la carts; enough variety of food you won’t starve; alcohol not premium - lots of sugary drinks; strawberry coladas were really good! rooms can use extra long mirror; hangers and hooks; Not a fan of locals taking over the whole resort on the weekends; was noisy, garbage everywhere; food wasted by locals and then none left if you came late; pool taken over by families; no pool towels to exchange: bu [... read more]t I guess they need to make money on the off seasons; Also lots of peddling on the beaches; they are there everyday;

AGood Resort

A good resort, with excellent foods.But unfortunately 2 days before the end of the vacation we had to face Hurricane Fiona, no blame to anybody except mother nature. But one thing we have to say, Air-Canada is not serious and sensitive towards it's travelers or customers.Next time we will try to avoid Air Canada flights. Sorry to see, if this is the way Air Canada behaving with the travelers, in future you will rarely see travelers using Air Canada . Great resort for that price!

І меблі в номерах можна було б оновити. Ще в кімнаті дуже голосно працює кондиціонер. Але персонал, чистота та свіжа їжа Ñ” важливішим за модернізацію кімнат. Тому ми лишилися задоволені.

BEAUTIFUL RESORT, IMPRESSIVE PEOPLE

In August 2022 I had the pleasure of taking my son on a vacation for his 20th Birthday, we traveled to Puerto Plata, República Dominicana, staying at the Gran Ventana Beach Resort. Nice resort

Very clean resort, friendly staff, awesome beach, huge pool, lots of variety for meals, rooms were good as well. Only complaint was that the daily & nightly entertainment was very poor. Sanitizer available in all areas, tables spread out in dining areas.

Average resort!

Grounds are clean, rooms were good. Entertainment is repetitive despite trying to switch it up. Barely any entertainment during the day. The alcohol and food is average, missing some of my fav Dominican dishes and avocados !!!!

Great resort amazing staff

Awesome time!

This resort Is incredible! I visited with my girlfriend and we can both say it was An amazing vacation. The food was one of the best from an all inclusive. Usually the buffet is below average at resorts but this one was really good! The beach and pool was also nice. We enjoyed the two pools as one provided entertainment, with volleyball and music. While the other was “quite” and it was nice to read a book or go for a light swim. The rooms were fabulous with very good AC. Clean, excellent staff, food was amazing not one complaint at this hotel !

Amazing staff was very friendly, VIP was worth every penny ! Room was clean, food at the buffet and restaurants was great . Pool was clean the only issue was the weekend when the hotel allowed the locals to come to the hotel with their families . It was loud and crowded at the pool , the bars and the buffet.

Quiet and small

Think i would of enoyed it more if the first 3 days wernt ruined by lost luggage, having to shop to find some things toi wear other items u cant take on carry on , very dissappointed and the trip was 3 apr nad not a call back hrs on a phone call that u never get thru to talk to someone about a claim! To top the lost luggage the flight back was horrible delayed in dominican and then delayed twice in toronto for a 5 hr flight the delays were unbelievable sure makes u not want to travel wel [... read more]l me anyways and then to try and get your money back its horrible, I wont again Thanks westjet for your (not) quick response (3 months and still waiting )

Ok resort

Hotel, beach , food, customer service- ok Entertainment- bad 3 from 4 people fully vaccinated 2 and 3 dosses got Covid starting the 5th day of staying . Bad points- local people during the weekend -crowded, noisy, long waiting line . Hotel owner professional and nice . Trip to PP-ok but too pushy to buy expensive things . Too noisy for the night - rooms near pool .

Amazing Staff

Small resort Arrive as guests and leave as family! Osvaldo and Andrea- Lobby bar - awesome people!!! Always greeted us with a smile every day! Felix and breakfast n lunch waiters- so welcoming !! Papa John- always a treat to talk to everyday- great photographer! Roberto #44- on the beach- very honest and will fund you anything you need or want! Very clean resort, everything is at arms reach!!! Will definitely return!!!!

Ok place

Nice small resort Ok pool though no bartender at pool bar, and the activities posted did not happen. The room was musty with a broken patio door Melady the housekeeper was awesome, the only one we actually got to know over the week.

Could do better!

Check in was fast, but we were not given the room we booked - after a 2 hour delay our room was ready. Hotel was nearly empty so no idea why the wait. Restaurant by the beach we found to be the best, the food in the buffet was nearly always cold. Beach is very clean - loads of loungers but not too many with umbrellas and those loungers always had towels on them but no people! After reading the reviews, I have to wonder if we were at the same hotel - the week we were there the entertainment was n [... read more]on existent, we have stayed in Mexico before and its much much better. The staff though are fantastic - at least most of them and it was so sad to see some 'guests' being very rude to them. I think if I was to return, I would upgrade to a better package. I guess the issue is that we were spoiled by the Mexico resorts - Playa Dorada is showing its age!

Amazing resort

The Gran Vantana was and great resort. I had the premium package which gave me access to the private section and the vintage club. Both had amazing service. We also had 3 a la cartes the Ocean grill was unbelievable, great taste, great flavors and fantastic service. The other two were good but the ocean was my favorite. The buffet was unbelievable in selection. There was always something you can find to eat even for fussy eaters. The staff were very friendly and helpful even when someone did no [... read more]t understand English well they would find someone to assist. The only issue I found was that a message was left at the front desk about our departure and they didn't inform us of the change.

Great vacation

Nice place to go to. Great staff, clean and good food. Very relaxed atmosphere . Could use some upgrade to entertainment, but I’m sure Covid has affected that. Happy , hardworking, pleasant staff, especially Roberto at pool bar.My only complaint was the stairs in main areas, I saw 3 people fall in a week on the marble, you can’t see them, they blend into floor.

A pleasant stay!

I stayed with family in April 2022 and purchased the Premium Package. The premium lounge was incredible and definitely worth the price of the upgrade, in my opinion. The staff there were attentive and accommodating, especially Yohelisa the bartender. The beach was also stunning with great chair-side service and Bali beds in the premium area. The room was quiet and clean but a bit dated, nothing fancy. The buffet food was varied and I enjoyed dinner at the Octopus Restaurant but was disappointed  [... read more]by the Italian. Overall the resort was relaxing and unfussy.

Good resort

Nice resort, mask are worn In the restaurant until seated, also worn to get a drink at the bars, rooms were clean, staff were friendly, didn't like that you had to go to the pool area to get coffee and not until 6:30 am, need more variety of food at the beach bar, entertainment was good but the same every night, not enough music or entertainment in the day. Entertainment at night was only about 2 hours most times. Food was good. Beds were very comfortable.

Great staff

As usual, the staff at Gran Ventana was welcoming and helpful. The resort is still not full, so alacarte restaurants were easy to book and the Vintage Club was excellent! Food was hot and tasty and plentiful ! A slight water issue was handled quickly and a bit of rain but otherwise another great trip . Kudos to all
