Nice hotel

Clean, friendly staff, needs better maintenance of building envelope. Food reminded me of my time as girl at an English boarding school. Everything cooked to dath with no spices at all. Food aside, the staff were great especially Vicky, my maid and Grace, the pool bartender.

Beyond My Expectations This was my first time in V

This was my first time in Varadero Cuba. The Bellevue Palma Real Hotel is rated as a 3 1/2 star property, however it exceeded our expectations. The food was good, the room was clean and comfortable and the service was also good.

NOT WHAT I EXPECTED

Just OK...Hotel not well maintained...although staff tried hard and were very friendly.Food decent by Cuba standards. Beautiful beach that is littered by disrespectful tourists and then poorly maintained by hotel personnel. Lots of younger tourists who took plenty of advantage of all inclusive alcohol resulting in significant inappropriate behavior. Just not the place for me.

Cuban Home!

This was my 6th trip to the Bellvue Palma Reall ... truly like a home away from home! The staff are the best and service is consistently good. There is a wonderful new Manager and she is very hands on with her staff and is working hard to maintain a clean, friendly and welcoming environment. She is also working at getting wifi in the hotel for all those who really want to stay connected during their vacation. This is resort is also in an excellent location ... you can walk to shopping, wonderful [... read more] restaurants and the best dancing in Veradero! We start at The Beatles and then move to Caleigh 62 and then to the Havana Club. If you go with a group it's even more fun! Please keep in mind this is Cuba and we are going for the sun, their beautiful beaches and relaxing away from all the hustle and bustle of our western world. What we take for granted as normal everyday conveniences are luxuries still in Cuba. Slow down as soon as you arrive and be patient when asking for help at the front desk ... it will go a looooong way to getting great assistance. I have taken many family and friends with me and have also made many good friends on my trips to this resort that stay in touch with so I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who is needing a warm, home away from home! p.s. if you want to take the locals gifts, peanut butter, nutella and good tasting toothpaste were some of the things we were told were so expensive there they rarely got them!

Comfortable holiday

If you want polished marble floors...not here. The rooms were ok and clean, bed comfortable. Amenities good. Entertainment was ok in the evenings. Good location close to beach. The food was average in the buffet, breakfast was alway best meal of day.

Not so good but was under renovations

Swim up bar is the main attraction the resort is nicely laid out and lose to the beach and town. Our past visits were more memorable and hopefully once the renovations are complete it will regain its charm

Amazing resort , staff is amazingly nice

Awesome place and awesome staff Lots to do as per animation Beach is really not far and a beautiful place Very relaxing and pleasant week City is close as per evening event or simply taxi ride in town.

Fantastic location! Great time!

Location is awesome! Staff are human, some sweet and some not so much lol. Rooms were clean and had what you needed. One pool is a bit rundown but the other is fantastic with the pool bar. Food is a bit bland but plentiful with quite a bit of variety. Beach is gorgeous Altho didn't go as often as I might've if it was a bit closer. All in all, would Def go back! Only a couple blocks from some of the great dance bars!

Decent bang for the buck

Yes, tired, worn, not grade A, not like a five star place on the Mayan Riviera. But you know that. But for me it was perfectly fine. Decent food, fun entertainment, very hospitable staff. Actually a great staff. Lovely beach. I really really liked this place.

Disappointed

Third time there and won't return! No hot water ac broke numerous times . Needed to use a converter this time which we didn't bring . Front desk was rude when we complained . Our room wasn't ready till 4pm we arrived at 11 and check out time was 12. So why the length of time? New guests should be a prioy

Love the resort

We stayed at Bellevue Palma Real with 6 people. We each had different buildings. Building 4 is the newest and has a bar and lounge in the building. None of the buildings are far away. The pools are very nice, and so is the beach. The best thing about this resort is the location. It is walking distance to everything. There is a street party everynight 2 minutes away. La Fondue restaurant 5 minutes away, The Beatles Club is 5 minutes away.

Great vacation

This was my 8th trip to Cuba (different hotels and locations) I went with 6 girls. Positives... Great staff, great beaches and pools, clean, good food, great location ( close to veradero nightclubs, and restaurants, and flea markets) great ocean view Not so positive... A bit old and run down, no hot water in the am Would go back there again

Friendly Staff Abound!

The staff at Bellevue Palma Real are so friendly ... we had a great time! My friend has frequented this resort many times, but it was my first time and it definitely won't be my last. The location was ideal and although it is not beachfront, it is a short walk to get there. The Varadero beach is top notch and having a beach bar and the entertainment staff there was a treat! Th [... read more]e shows put on in the evening were extremely good for being a 3.5 star hotel. The food was standard Cuban fare ... but always plenty to eat. I will never forget my Thanksgiving at Palma Real and I'm sure they won't forget me either! (aka I'm a "chicken lady")!! LOL

Nice resort

We stayed for a 7 day trip(0ct.7 to Oct14 2015)The staff were very polite and tried to answer all of our questions.WE had asked for a room with easy access,due to my mobility.and were given a hotel building with a ramp instead of stairs,close to pool and buffet.Unfortuately,the food was average and the a la carte meals ,were not worth going to.They were pretty much same meal as buffet.If you want to explore the Cubian Culture,this is the place.This hotel is within walking distance to town of Ver [... read more]adero,when lots of markets and night clubs are.Forget using the internet,we bought a internet card ,for 60 minutes,could not connect to email of Facebook.Still.for the price of our trip,I feel we got value.I would recommend the Bellevue Palma Real Resort ;for those who want to see the '' Real Cuba''

You get what you pay for!!

my sister and i visited this hotel oct 7 to oct 14 2015. when we walked in my sister did not really like the hotel but we my sister and I travelled on oct 7 to October 14 and when we arrived my sister was ready to turn around and go home --the place looked so dreary after a nights sleep we were a bit more rested and started to look at the positives,,the room we had was large in building 3 which was easily accessible with no stairs the room had two double beds enough towels etc but not always a f [... read more]loor mat. you were provided with one litre of water which you could refill at the bar anytime. we had a balcony and overlooked the pool. the maids were very helpful and friendly Mercedes was my favourite house keeper. she talked with us and made sure we were comfortable the food was okay. i am not a picky eater but it was a challenge for me-we could have fried eggs or omelettes prepared by the chefs in the morning which i had every day. there was only bacon served one day which was good but i do not care for their ham or sausage. there was fruit of course but not much variety, the hotcakes were good but displayed on a plate not kept warm. for lunch and supper it was chicken or pork grilled or roasted or maybe fish and an assortment of cheese and salads and hot dishes like stew or vegetables and pastas the pudding were good but i do not like cuban pastries,there was jello only a couple of times and again the fruit assortment was not good only melon and sometimes bananas however the service was always good and you water glass was always full. the wait staff were friendly and polite.other guests said the food was usually better but perhaps because it is off season?? there was a cuban festival one lunch and it was probably the best meal we had.i mean it was fantastic!! the a la carts are a waste of time, the bar staff were great!! they were cheerful talkative and really made you feel welcome the front desk did check us in promptly and were helpful throughout the visit. the policy i did not like was the towel rental-20 cuban pesos deposit so i paid 37 percent or so more as i could not use Canadian money -next time bring my own towel i guess!! the value of the Canadian dollar compared to cuban pesos meant i kept my shopping limited. we did meet some lovely people from ontario and enjoyed going to the pool bar with them in my opinion the beach was okay but i have seen better only went there once the entertainment was good but i was usually tired by then however i would properly stay there again because it is close to shopping nearby and i felt it was a safe place!! 117.1 km CasavanaCuba #2 of 531

Very friendly andfun resort

Good fopd, clean hôtel , lots or french people, activities on beach ans at thé pool ,been at this hôtel 4 times, i do recommend Bellevue Palma Réal Ressort un Varadero , Cuba, will surely go back soon :-)

It must have been a grand hotel before. It was clean and spacious. The architecture was greatly planned. Facilities were near each other but it had people still maintain privacy. I will come back! See you soon! Hola

Bellevue palma real varadero

I'll talk about my trip to Bellevue Palma Real Varadero from August 29 to September 5, 2015 , this resort are situated.in the heart of Varadero one can walking to call 62 and havana club and BEATTLE that are well-known bars and very well ,, the resort has 2 children pool and 2 other for adults the first has a swim up bar and 2 nd quiet pool ,, and that are very well ,, this resort you can move and verythings at the hands ,,, is not to much walk l and to go to the beach you have to walk through t [... read more]he way but are ok 5 minutes,,,I'll tell you about the dinner a la carte which i made ​​2 ,, are the first Italian and the Cuban 2 ,, the first Italian was very good and the dishes are full but services too fast and I think when you eat a la carte this is ok to relax the Cuban 2 ,,, very small portion and he knew many things was missings in the menu ,,and the rooms are small but ok for me because I 'm not difficult ,, the service ok lobby takes time but we are in cuba ,,, very good to eat the buffet and lots of fruits ,,, i really love this resort ,, and I can not tell you about the show at night because i not attend ,,i will go back anythimes at that resort i love it

Great time in Cuba!

Great resort, friendly service! Sometimes slow, but that's how it is everywhere it seems. Our room was mostly clean, the food was good and we had a beautiful balcony where we would get an espresso at the lobby bar, bring it to our room and relax and chat on the balcony almost everyday. The pool was fine, the location was great (I thought it's location was the best on the peninsula actually, because you were close to the beach, but also right at the edge of downtown Varadero so we didn't have to  [... read more]walk far to go out and see things, dance, etc.)

Excellent location!

Nice relaxing surroundings. The quality of the food seemed to improve on a daily basis. The beach was awesome! Lots of nice restaurants in Varadero and safe to wander about. Visited Varadero 9 years ago and would go back again. Lovely vacation.
