Very nice resort.

our rooms were clean and modern. The food was for the most part was very good. The wifi system however was very frustrating to say the least. Pools and beaches were awesome. The grounds were well kept and the workers were on the job every day.

Good Value

The grounds are lovely, the pools are large, and the staff are warm and friendly. The beach is better for snorkelling than just splashing around, as it is pretty rocky. Be prepared to wake up at 6am if you want a chair at the beach or pool in the shade though... The food is what you would expect for Cuba, everything tastes just a bit different. I really wish we had listened to others and brought peanut butter and ketchup. The Italian a la carte is the best of them all, and the beach snack [... read more] bar has the coldest slushy machines. Ask for a ham and cheese sandwich, no ham, and you will get a grilled cheese! The omelet station at the breakfast buffet is the best meal I ate every day, and well worth waiting in whatever length of line. I especially love the way they would crisp up your bacon for you. The rooms are pretty standard, nothing fancy, but clean, and the housekeeper will leave extra beer and water in the mini fridge if you ask nicely. Definitely upgrade to Plus, it is worth it for the plus pool alone. The only reason I would not return here is because I'm pale as a ghost and need shade, and I don't want to have to wake up at 6am everyday just so I don't burn to a crisp.

Blau epicness

Blau was a beautiful resort with very friendly staff and awesome scenery. The tours outside of the resort and city of Holquin were great as well. The snorkelling off the main beach was also amazing. So many fish and epic coral. Highly recommendable for travelers looking for authentic Cuban feel.

Love love love

The staff made my trip! I loved making friends with your team:) I did not stay in the plus side though I think I enjoyed the "older" side more! More my style! The gardens are beautiful. The pool is so fun! And the beach was amazing out and in the water xo thank you so much for having us!

Lucky to not be with the S Trippers!

Excellent food and very friendly staff. Most activities seemed fun, although we only attended a few due to some rainy weather. Tiles are very slippery when wet and I noticed a few injuries. Students claimed a section of the beach but were only obnoxious on a few occasions. I heard they trashed one of the buildings far away from us. I hope not because the resort was very well maintained on our end. Nice beach and the pool for Blau plus was reat!

Good resort for March break

Second time at Blau, very good resort. Food was better, Paul was great, entertainment was not as good as two years ago, Rome was fine, drinks Were fine. Overall a very good stay and I would recommend this resort

It was a great resort.

This was a great hotel. Yes I would recommend it. The only problem was the shortage of beach chairs and also, we didn't like the stray cats hanging around. They weren't really a bother, just didn't like it.

Great service and value for money

Second time to Cuba, first time in Holguin. This was definitely superior to our first trip to Varadero in an equal start rated hotel. The hotel was better than we expected, well maintained, clean and refreshed. Evening entertainment was very good with great variety each night. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Travelling with my daughter, felt very safe and not worried about her alone at night on resort grounds. Activity staff could do a better job of involving more guests; the [... read more]y almost seem shy and only approach the same people each day. Only complaint is that there are not nearly enough lounge chairs at pools or beach for the number of guests and many guests 'reserve' with towels and leave the chairs for hours. Perhaps hotel staff could periodically do a sweep and remove belongings where it is clear nobody has been for over 2-3 hours.

Had a wonderful time

The resort features were great, beautiful beach with lots of fish to see if you like to snorkel, pools were nice and big, it was clean. Our room was nice, although the "Garden View" was definitely an overstatement. There is a walking trail around the resort which we really enjoyed and lots of fossil hunting to do. What we were surprised by was that there didn't seem to be enough staff...line ups for everything. It could take 20 minutes to get a coffee in the morning while waiting for the  [... read more]buffet to open, then once in the buffet another 20 minute wait in line to get an omelet made. There were times we left a bar and found another one because we waited and waited for a drink, that was disappointing. We will go again to Holguin, Playa Pesquero Beach, but not to Blau Costa Verde. We will try out one of the other resorts on the beach instead. Thanks!

Beautiful resort

After being to Cuba several times, this resort is one of the best we have been to. Clean, friendly and the food was excellent. The beach is beautiful. I would definitely go back without any hesitation.

Amazing resort

We have been to Blau costa verde from 5th to 12th february 2017. We upgrade for Blau costa verde PLUS because we weren't satisfied of our rom. Room in PLUS side was modern, clean and new. People who worked at this resort are very helpful, friendly except women at the front desk. Food at the buffet was really good, various and tasty . Also, all restaurants are good enough to be tried. The beach was wonderful. I recommand easily this resort.

Amazing Resort

Blau is one of the nicest resorts we have stayed at! the grounds are gorgeous. The staff there is really friendly. Everything you want in a resort is there. Lots to do for everyone! Would recommend it !

Very Nice!

Our recent one week stay at the Blau Costa Verde (Plus) was just what we needed: a lovely beach, nice accommodations (better than expected), great people on staff. The Plus addition adds a few nice amenities but certainly is not necessary to enjoy this resort. The food was good and lots of varieties were available to suit our taste. the a-la-carte restaurants do add some nice alternative meals. On the "could be better" side: - the public washrooms: just not up to expected standards of cleanlin [... read more]ess and functionality. No paper towels and few hand drying machines, missing seats, urine on the floor and seats occasionally. NOT all the public washrooms were like this...but the few that were means we had to be careful. -No Kleenex in the rooms: this item should be added

A place you can return to every year

This was my 3rd time. We took our 85 year old mother with a walker this time. This resort was great for her. We had a ground floor room in the Plus side. Very few steps as they have small ramps around the main building. Buffett was OK but food was not very warm. The restaurants were excellent. I especially enjoyed the Spanish and French restaurants. Very nice resort. Employee's friendly and helpful.

Grounds and public areas are clean and well kept. Rooms are basic but also clean and well kept. The buffet food was quite good and they really tried to present a variety each evening. Lot's of chairs by the Plus pool so enjoyed that very much. The beach was a bit crowded and space was at a premium but it was also very acceptable.

Great food

I visit this hotel numerous times every year. The best feature of this hotel is it's food. While Cuba has a reputation for having lousy food, I believe that this hotel is the exception. The hotel is kept clean, most of the staff is very friendly and the beach is nice, but the watter is rocky. As at all resorts in Cuba, stay away from tap water. Also, they may serve you filtered water. Insist on bottled watter. There is a huge difference .

Cuba Bound ? A Must

A very pleasant and unexpected experience. Except for 1 day of rain which no one can control it was a great relaxing and fun event . First experience at an all inclusive and it is definetely the way to go . Cannot say enough about all the staff- even the grounds crew- everyone is well trained in customer service- they know their clientele

We Enjoyed It

Well I think I'll tell you about the good first. The beach was really nice, snorkelling was amazing, The food was fine I always found something I liked ( It is Cuba you have to remember). If I returned to that resort I would stay in the Plus side for sure. The rooms where not great. Staff was nice ...not fancy at all but if you are looking for a nice beach a few good drinks and some fun. I think this place will work for you. The highlight for me was the beach

Blah Costa verde

Clean rooms. Good service. Kids loved the swim up bar. Cappuccinos at the pool bar were excellent. Food were standard for Cuba. Custom pasta bar was a favourite for our family. Beach was gorgeous.

Second time was even better!

Our vacation was one to remember! From the booking (thanks Lynne Dixon) on we are thrilled with this experience. The resort is clean, the food abundant and delicious; not sure why people complain about Cuban food. The staff, they say, make the resort and this staff is friendly, warm and attentive. The beach is busy but not crowded, the pools (especially the VIP) were well maintained and welcoming. Shows are like other resorts, but they do put a great effort. For our return visit we got a free bo [... read more]ttle of rum and a cigar at a cocktail party. We paid more for the Plus, but others I spoke to said their rooms were fantastic as well. Looking forward to a 3rd time!
