Awesome Resort

We had our family reunion during our stay and the staff was fabulous. They were able to accommodate all 17 of us in the same building which was awesome. The grounds and pools are pristine and our kids loved the lazy river. There is a fair bit of walking on the resort but it is great for exploring. The beaches were small but had amazing snorkeling due to the coral reefs. The buffet was delicious they had plenty of options even our picky eaters had no problems with the food. Amazing

Everything about Grand Sirenis Riveria Maya was amazing!!! We have no complaints... It was our 1st going out of Canada and we now planning to go every year... The people there are so amazingly friendly ad the food wa awesome.:. I'm so glad I had the pleasure to go and see this amazing place!!!

Outstanding!

This was a great resort. We travelled with 2 children. The staff was friendly and helpful and could not do enough. Our only complaint would be that the mattresses in the room were terrible. We made the best of it everything else made up for it.

Amazing rooms!

This was our 5th hot spot trip and we were overwhelmed with the quality and size of the rooms. The tub was big enough for 2 and the showers as well with multiple settings. We had a free 2 night room upgrade and there was a little confusion in the move, we were compensated with fruit baskets, champagne, Tequila and reservations at the Japanese restaurant. The bike tour was enlightning with our knowledgable and good hunoured guide.

Amazing honeymoon !!!

We absolutely love this resort! We just cane back from a 1 week honeymoon and could not be more thrilled. As mentioned previously you should bring water shoes as the beach has pieces of coral in it. ...which means amazing snorkeling! The food for a 5 star was not top notch compared to riu or bahia principe however the resort itself made up for it. Also make sure that you visit the spa! Wow! Absolutely amazing. Will not disappoint

Food staff beach grounds location snorkeling amenities variety lazy river spa etc all is super and a real treat. If you do use the computers for personal use is the main building double check to make sure you are securely clicked out. It took IT 3 tries to wipe my email with pw out of the system. Likely good now but make sure.

Great October Vacation

This place was beautiful - very large, but beautiful. The beach was clean and there were lots of loungers and shady spots. The beach servers were very outgoing and fun and up for laughs! The path ways were well maintained but could of used a bit more lighting. It was nice to see all the natural growth instead of cleared spaces for gardens. The pools were all beautiful and there was always a spot to be had through out the day - but we stayed on the beach where we were hand to the snorkelling. We were able to get a great 4 person deal at the spa that included lunch, hydo therapies and a massage. Was a great way to spend the afternoon after arriving the previous night! Check in and out was smooth and effortless!

Fabulous!

Four of us travelled to this resort at the end of October 2014 and absolutely loved it. The snorkelling on the beach and the lovely staff were highlights for us. Only one negative to mention - It would be nice if the resort could include free wifi for guests as we did find this annoying and unreasonable for a 4+ star hotel.

Great resort

Had a great time despite the weather which is beyond anyone's control. The staff are wonderful , we had a day at the spa which was amazing thanks Lou Ann for recommending the services, the hydro therapy and saunas that you can use before your spa services are awesome highly recommended even if your not into the thought of going to the spa. Plan on going back in the spring!!

Excellent Resort

Just arrived after 10 days vacation. 2nd time in this hotel. Excellent resort: food, beach, service. Awesome snorkeling! The only issue I can see - too much smokers around. No place for non smoking people.

Second visit, same great Resort

We visited this resort 6 years ago, that time with kids, this time without! Same beautiful resort, wonderful lazy river, and very good snorkelling! Very good food, both at the Buffets and the Specialty restaurants. Recommend the Beach grill and the Japanese Restaurant, as much a Show as anything! Great entertainment, the Mojito Lounge set up on the roof of the specialty restaurants (one night) was magical! The Staff really excelled, from front desk to housekeeping. We upgraded to an ocean-view r [... read more]oom which was worth every penny! Also excellent was the Spa, we just did the aqua-circuit, which is a series of pools, saunas and showers. Not what I was expecting but very enjoyable. The only negative was the house wine, included with Buffet and Specialty meals. Previously we had several options, this time there was only one, and it wasn't very good. I suppose if that is the only negative, then this is a very good review indeed! :)

All right, ... sort of.

A long way from the airport - 1 1/2 hours? Huge, impersonal architecture. Bathroom has a large opening into the bedroom, not the doorway - very odd! The safe in the bedroom is extra ($30?), despite the Tripcentral quote! The concierge? staff in the buildings are very sly at trying to upgrade you for timeshares - beware. The beach is nice but very small. Watch out for coral burns on the rocks. It can take a month or more to heal. The food is good. We didn't view any of the entertainment. Great resort. Wonderful vacation.

The hotel was great. Upon check in we discovered we had a room with an ocean view. We were disappointed however when we got to our room to see that the mangroves completely covered any view we might have. It didn't really matter though because who spends any time in the room when the beach and pool are steps away. The staff were incredibly nice and accommodating. We would go to this resort again for sure.

Would Go Again.....Yes

We certainly enjoyed our vacation at the Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya very much!! The snorkelling was absolutely awesome. Saw turtles and many different kinds of beautiful. The resort was very nice and certainly had no problems with the food!!!

Good value and exactly what I expected

We went as a group of 15 people with kids, young adults and grandparents. The resort worked for us. Yes the floors are slippery but nothing crazy. We all booked at different time and got wildly different prices. The resort is large and some rooms are musty while others are perfect - I visited several rooms my group members were in. It is very clean and service around the pools is great. Food is what you'd expect. Lots of it but nothing special. The main restaurant is loud and busy. The restauran [... read more]ts are o.k. - small and lacking but much quieter. We've had much better at comparably priced hotels. The kids club was not inviting. It didn't look opened most days and it was quite exposed to people walking by. None of us felt comfortable leaving our kids there, unlike previous vacations where the kids begged to go. It was a cheap vacation and good value for the price we paid. Ask for a room close to the activity pool, building 18 is ideal.

Excellent Resort

The resort was fabulous, it was very large and took us a couple of days to get to know where things were located and how to get there. The only shortfall was the construction, but at least one could see that this resort is being well maintained. The rooms were gorgeous, loved the hot tub and the multi-shower heads for a full body shower. It is a beautiful place to stay.
