Amazing resort

We had a fabulous time resort was fantastic people there were amazing we were there last year and definitely go back again for a third time I would definitely recommend resort for people to go to beach was absolutely beautiful very clean staff was unbelievable all around

Relaxing week

Room: spacious, clean, comfortable Grounds: beautiful gardens Pool: always had chairs, great bar service from David Food: grill stations were great, enjoyed the Asian and Mediterranean restaurants. Beach: breathtaking

Beautiful Resort

First of all let me say that everything about this resort is beautiful. The drive was short and because there's no homes on this island, no traffic. The rooms are well appointed, the grounds and amenities are kept immaculate. The food albeit redundant was fresh, and tasty and if you can't find something to eat, you're too fussy too travel. The coffee in the Bars is wonderful, but don't waste your time on the "brown hot water" they call coffee at the buffet. The front desk staff seemed to really pay attention to detail including; when we arrived one of our rooms had a sticky lock and one of the staff even remembered who we were and went out of their way to let us know it had been fixed. The pool was clean, and the beach was amazing. Downside, we requested a room side by side with our friends, but was told they couldn't accommodate. Ended up a distance from them. There isn't much for shopping on the resort and nothing within walking distance. There is a "mall" with shops and some nice effects, including an awesome coffee shop, but you have to take a bus or cab and it's about a 20 minute drive...and that's it. Just the mall. No real restaurant, just a bar that serves hamburgers (mystery meat well seasoned), and lot's of drinks. Now to the few things that made it less than perfect. MUSQUITOES! My husband and I are both allergic, so they were more than annoying. The bites actually left bruises on me and they really were too thick to enjoy the nightly shows etc, even with bug spray. During the day at the pool, it was always noisy to the point of being a bit irritating. I realize the entertainment crew have a job to do, but everything was generated from the pool area and it became a bit much after hours of loud music and yelling into a microphone. There were a lot of older people and this being an adult resort, I think they could have made a little effort to accommodate everyone not just the partiers of which the % was fairly low. So, my overall summary is; if you're looking for a nice relaxing resort where there isn't much to do but relax, (and you can handle the mosquitoes) then GO! A huge thank you to all off the lovely Cuban people who continue to teach us how to be better and appreciate a simpler life every time we go.

Not as good as last year

The people are amazing and the beaches beautiful. We did pay for the Diamond Club and did not see much difference as people used our lounge chairs and the bar at the beach . When they ran out of beer we had to buy Heineken bottles. They have a Piano bar but unfortunately the only person that played it’ll was a guest. They have no music or disco passed 11pm so not much to do other then drink or eat or go to bed early. Not pleased with Tripcentral either as once we booked the resort the pri [... read more]ce dropped the next day by $100 per person and they were not willing to do anything. Was only told that if we cancel we loose our deposit.

Friendly resort

Smaller resort. Very friendly staff and vacationers. Great entertainment. High energy young people. They all worked very hard to make our stay relaxing and fun. The evening entertainment was great. Zoe was part of the entertainment group. She always stopped to see how we were doing. Beautiful gal. Our room was always clean with a new towel arrangement every day. The grounds were beautiful. We could always find something we liked. Pasta was excellent. The pizzas on the beach were great. Loved the ice cream. All in all we had a great two weeks.

Amazing staff

We had a wonderful relaxing time during our week at the Memories Caribe in late February of this year. A huge thank you to all the staff who made this trip as wonderful as it was. The resort was spacious, clean and as mentioned, made for a very relaxing vacation. We will definitely be returning in the future.

Home away from home!

We have just returned from our fifth stay in 3 years ! We have bonded with many staff that always go above and beyond to make us feel at home. From the minute we arrive to the minute we leave we are comfortable and always amazed with everything ! Big thanks to Alfie D'uva @ Trip centeral for always insuring our vacation is booked properly and everything is taken care of !! We are already counting down the days till we return !

Wonderful hotel Food was great rooms were good waiters and waitresses were wonderful I can’t say enough about the beach it was just simply amazing the most beautiful beach I’ve ever been to loved it will definitely be going back again

Staff make the resort!

Beautiful resort and the most wonderful staff. Pros- Friendly staff, great drinks and awesome pizza. Always found chairs on beach and pool and met so many incredible new friends. Cons- in Building 23 we only had 3 days of warm water for showers. Don’t leave anything on patio if on ground floor. Items were stolen in the next room. I will definitely return next year!

Nice resort but in need of updating in rooms

The grounds were very well kept , and the walk way through out were very nice! Beach was amazing but would be great to have a washroom at each of the entrances to the beach where they have the showers just a long walk to go back to your room. Food was better than my trip to Varedaro 5 years ago. But have a long way to go to improve on the food. Pizza and Banana chips were great at the beach. Saw the sports bar with white seats and went there one night . The chairs were so dirty it was kinda gross . never went back there. The buffet was nice staff were polite you can find something to eat just again the food is different and repetitve. The washrooms were clean . Our room the shower bathroom mirror were not cleaned all week. I did it myself . You couldn't take your drink out of where you were they seemed worried you would take or lose the glass. I don't know maybe they are held responsible for missing utensils etc. Had a great time went with freinds the weather was perfect . But they really need to redo the rooms , and they need to be cleaned better.

Memories Caribe is great

We were greeted well with a wonderful refreshment. The rooms were spacious and kept clean every day. The beaches are spectacular. They have a barbecue and a Pizza Hut for lunch at the beach and if you want a lobster at the beach you could order one it was very tasty. The entertainment was the greatest I ever seen. The a la cart restaurant were good . We really enjoy the Cuban restaurant the best good wine and service. We were there for two weeks and the weather was amazing.

Absolutely extrodinary Resort!

Would like to start by saying this was our first time at this resort and I must say that the entertainment staff Michel, Lazara, Zoe, Ricardo and Ely (to name a few, as i can't remember all of their names) were quite amazing. They did a fabulous job at engaging the people in games, activities and nightly events. The nightly events were absolute amazing - loved their version of Dirty Dancing! The bartenders Dave and Raul went above and beyond by supplying us with drinks (even virgin daiquiris) by [... read more] the pool in between serving us and others at the swim up bar (No Diamond Club required!). Dave has some nice shots in our Beer Pong game. No complaints about the rooms or food. Everyday I looked forward to seeing what the cleaning staff would do with the towels, as they would shape them into Swans, hearts, Cats, flowers, etc... Everyone from the front desk, to the gardeners, to the staff at the buffet, were just absolutely amazing - always ready to help and serve. We will definitely be returning in years to come. The only small complaint (completely our end) is that the group we went down with was scattered around the resort, so next year we will try to get rooms closer together, or in similar areas. Other than that we all have nothing but positive things to say about this resort (Memories Caribe) and the people there.

We love Cuba!!

The refurbished parts of the resort are lovely but the ones that are not are seriously in need! Be warned! We requested a move and were accommodated but I would not have been happy to spend a week in the unrenovated sections!! The grounds are meticulously maintained and the Cuban people could not be more attentive! They are lovely! The beach is why we go to Cuba! Amazing! The food is okay....nothing special but adequate and the service was as always wonderful and friendly!

Amazing Staff and Vacation Spot

Grounds maintained, public areas kept clean, food was good, stir fry, pasta and omelette stations were very good. Buffet kept clean. Room was clean (although my first room in bldg 10 was very smelly and my allergies reacted before I unlocked the door; after multiple complaints we hid a room change). So many activities we did not have the opportunity to be bored. Weather was perfect. Played bocce ball on the beach, darts and shuffleboard by the pool, water aerobics, volleyball and other games. Fresh churros by the pool, ice cream in beans restaurant. Cappuccino in the piano bar. Pizza and fresh grilled sandwiches, handmade chips. Karaoke most nights before the entertainment. Fresh aloe available if you ask the gardener. Definitely going back next year with more people. Love goes out to Michel, Lazara, Ricky, Zoe, Ely, Luis, Dulian, Daniela, David and all the bartenders that made our stay enjoyable. Gracias. ...until we meet again.

Loved our stay!

The resort was amazing and had a lot of fun things to do if you want to stay on the resort for your trip. The staff was super friendly and very welcoming. Rooms were always nice and clean. I was especially impressed with the availability of the non-motorized water sports (eg. we went for a free half hour sail in a hobie of the resort beach!). The staff on the beach would also bring you chairs as soon as they saw you arrive which was lovely. I would recommend bringing a water bottle or travel mug [... read more] for drinks since they use small plastic cups which need to be refilled frequently. Overall a great stay.

Great vacation

We had a great time at Memories Cariba , entertainment was great and the staff was amazing,Cheese ball(Michel) Lazara,Zoi, Ricki , David they made our trip The beach was amazing ,met a lot of nice people

Pleasantly Surprised!

We traveled as a couple and knew what to expect as we have both been to Cuba a few times. Flight & Representative at Resort: The flight departing Toronto was on time. We were comfortable and had no issues. Our Sunwing Rep at the resort was helpful answering our questions.Thank you Sunwing. Check-In: We had a evening flight. Check-in was quick. Front desk was friendly and helpful. Took a little longer to find our room as it was dark and there were no resort maps available. Room: Clean and the  [... read more]perfect view. We had hot water everyday and the water pressure was fine. Our room was cleaned daily without issue. Food: We both agreed that the food was better than any other resort we have visited in Cuba. Repetitive? Yes, but we were creative and changed it up every day. Always fresh chicken, beef, pork, seafood and eggs. By the looks of everyone's plates nobody was starving and best of all I didn't have to cook it! We always had hot coffee and orange juice in the morning before we sat down and wine at lunch. Thank you Jordan and Baily. a la carte: We dined at the Mediterranean restaurant and were pleased with our meal. It was the only a la carte we booked. Alcohol: We mostly drank beer. The few mixed drinks we had were good. No complaints. We had wine with our meals and that was also good. I brought my own wine from Duty Free in Toronto and ended up giving it to one of the gardeners. It certainly wasn't required. Excursions: We did not go on any excursions as we were there to relax. Pool: The pool was very clean and had entertainment daily. We did not spend a lot of time at the pool as we are beach people. Beach: Amazing. Clean. Clear. Lots of shade. Lots of long walks. Staff: Front desk, customer relations, chefs, waiters, bartenders, maids, gardeners (Claudio) all were so accommodating and very friendly. We had a great time!! Would we return? Yes!

Love this resort but No hot water again!

This was our second time at the Caribe. We had an issue with no hot water the first time in March 2016 (before the hurricane). We assumed that after the hurricane, the water problems would be solved. It wasn't and we were booked in building 17 and everyone there had cold water only. We eventually were moved to building 21 and finally had hot showers. Everything else about this resort is wonderful and we loved our second room which had been renovated. It was beautiful and a great location,  [... read more]close to everything. The staff there is very helpful but there is not much they can do about the plumbing system. We would only go back if we were guaranteed hot water. We were there for 2 weeks and that is too long for taking cold showers!

Great vacation

Memories caribe was a quiet beautiful piece of paradise. The beach was outstanding, the staff welcoming and helpful. The rooms although a tad dated were clean and comfortable. We didn't have to wait for anything and wanted for nothing. Food was good and always served with a smile. It became one of our favorite resorts very quickly. We will return

Amazing beach, incredible staff

Stayed two weeks at memories Caribe in Cayo cocoa. After hearing mixed reviews about Cuba we were very pleasantly surprised by our stay. The beach was amazingly beautiful. Long sandbar allowing guests to walk far especially when tide was out. Beach offers bar and pizza. You have to try the pizza. Food was substantial and average by Canadian standards but well prepared. Lots of choices for breakfast including Smoothies to order with fruit and flavours of your choosing. There is a choice of alecart restaurants (Asian Mediterranean,Cuban) Every restaurant meal was well prepared with superior wait staff but the Mediterranean was our favorite There are a number of bars including a newly opened Bar and snack bar, a Lobby bar,Pool side swimup bar. Our room was spacious,a Mini suite,comfortable king bed, outdoor patio, indoor and outdoor shower. Certainly the highlight of our trip was the staff who were amazing and incredibly attentive. Some guests had issues with intermittent hot water but we had no issues. There was a bank on site and the on site entertainment each evening and day time entertainment staff. The activities and entertainment was excellent as was the variety of excursions available. People we met from other hotels complained of the cleanliness in public areas of their hotel. This was not the case at Memories Caribe. The cleaning staff kept the washrooms and public areas spotless and the grounds keepers kept the grounds beautiful. Special thanks to our gardner Jordan who worked diligently and helped provide coconuts to the guests.
